The one thing I like most about this channel is how excited you get over any fish, reminds me that fishing can be best when you let the kid in you come out and catch whatever.
Crickhoppers are fun for sure. So is the 1.5" Nikko Caddisfly. I wish you'd make a new video using those for ultralight fishing. It catches everything!! Nice video!
You really inspired me to give creeks and smaller bodys of water a try. I took my daughter out to fletcher the other day and we ended up catching a couple decent sized spots. Thanks for making good honest content.
The first time I saw one of your videos I thought there was no way my local Creek had fish in it. I grabbed an ultralight rod and creek hopper and 3 hours later I nabbed 40+ fish of 8 different species. I never looked back !
We use to fish grasshoppers all summer long... Then with locus when proper year came... Get a green branch with lot of leaves, cut and fan it out the swat them, and run in the grass field, my uncles also and cut up a wet egg carton along with some grass and place them in a empty coffee can with punched hole in it... 20 minutes would catch up to 20 grasshoppers the we would supplement night crawlers also!!!! Fun time fish and listen on the radio the baseball game!!!!
Those, and small white curly tail grubs were my first lures. It's very hard to beat the hopper in nearly and color. The crickpoper is also pretty good this time of year.
Had to order one last week, mine was taken in my last outing, great old time lure, hugely underrated if you ask me. Great to see you out at it again my fellow angler friend.
CRICK HOPPER STRIKES AGAIN PULLING OUT ALL SPECIES !!!!!! Not to mention catching a nice bass in that little creek.. Love these videos. God Bless and GO KATS!!!!!!!!!!
Well I think an intro was my second favorite hard to beat your original intro but that one was cool They can't get enough for crickets and grasshoppers this time of year Great video John Nice little creek
Love the nature shots. One of the perks of fishing, going outside, exploring, is experiencing your surroundings.. Lots of activity for such a small creek.
I have enjoyed using the hopper that you introduced me to in early content. Eyes aren't as good so sometimes get myself snagged taking it off a fish 🐠. Thanks 👍
Love your videos. Keep it up. My son and I use to fish ditches and roadside streams in north Florida. Now we are a little closer to your neck of the woods and have learned more about river and stream fishing here and techniques for catching more fish.
I bought a few after subscribing and love them. It's a blast to fish those on light and ultralight gear. The catches are always like potluck dinner. Great video brother
It really does bring out reactions. I use them fairly often but not the usual way. We have a small spillway and me and my boys use them to catch bluegill for flathead fishing at the local river. I also use them as a fail safe when I can't get the smallmouth to bite.
There's one that's a little s shapes purple worm jerk bait type lure that every predatory creek fish slams on. I think it's called a lil wriggler or something like that and I've even caught tiny creek catfish on it twice.
This is awesome a video everyday, definitely putting in the work for sure. Keep fishing bud, Myself and others have definitely learned a lot from you. God Bless
New subscriber and enjoying all the videos. Any chance you have any "Bloopers" video? You know something to make us not-so-great fishers feel better? 🤣 Appreciate ya!
When the cicadas hatched I caught a 5 pound spot on the cicada hopper. Only thing they would eat was those tiny bugs. I was terrified it was gonna pull those tiny hooks.
I have the yellowish/orange color one you are using in this video, the brown colored one, and the black one. The black one was kind of difficult to get. It gets sold out all the time. I had to wait almost three weeks because it was on backorder. Finally got all three in the mail within those three week to almost a month. Well worth the wait. Got them on LureNet. I have so much fun catching all sorts of sunfish and tiny bass with them. Even a small crappie wanted one that I fished for in a local creek not too long ago. They hammer those lures lol
Hey we're from Southern Ohio fish rebel crawls a lot and the cricket Hopper if you shave the bill halfway down you get a whole different bait it's worth it
just put a fuego lt 2500 xh on a panfish elite with some x9 braid using stren 6lb leader and i'm very happy with the results . long smooth accurate cast and quiet retrieve . caught 5 almost a pound red eye and small mouth in 45ish minuet's out the first time yesterday :) . take care dude .
Replacement arrived!By the way, I did forget to mention that the original lure did have a decent strike however as most anglers will attest you can get a hit ruclips.net/user/postUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 and fish will hang on and release lure. I used the replacement lure yesterday and ran thru a Shimano Waxwing, Kastmaster, Bobber (set to sink). I found the does run deep (I casting on the flats 3.5'). Make sure you adjust your rate of retrieve and rod tip angle (up) to prevent getting snagged on bottom. Used it a couple of times and action was very lifelike (looked like local bait fish for trevally), craftsmanship very good....however eyeball fell out. I asked for replacement and it is on it's way! It was very easy to change out treble to single inline hook.
It was you John that got me to try it and boy ive caught small bass, crappie and even bullhead catfish. Just wish they would come out with one that was maybe 1/4 oz heavier
You got lucky not hooking yourself! The rebel wee craw got me while trying to release a little smallie on one of my last videos. Them little hooks still hurt!
Enjoyed the video, that works perfect for that little stream, if you were to use a sinking bait it probably would get hung up on something, was wondering if you have ever tried the rebel frog bait it's similar to that bait your throwing just looks like a frog?
Snip 1 of the hooks off both hooks. It makes it easier to get out of their mouths when they eat the hook all the way. If possible, snip the leading front hooks and it'll come over cover a little better too.
You shared many great nature shots in the video (insects, fish in the creek, etc.). A person can find God's creative beauty everywhere. All one needs do is open their eyes.
A Creek just like that is where I learned to fish
and every fish over 6 inches was a monster! 😉👍
The one thing I like most about this channel is how excited you get over any fish, reminds me that fishing can be best when you let the kid in you come out and catch whatever.

I like the popper edition as well.
Caught a shiner on a crappie jig today
Perfect creek for crappie nibbles buddy 👌 👍
I love Rebel lures. The smaller lures are perfect for just about any size fish.
I own a crapton of them every color. Frm crickets to bees
My son and I just went down the Huzzah river in Missouri and he wore the bass and sunfish out with a yellow hopper
You really inspired me to give creeks and smaller bodys of water a try. I took my daughter out to fletcher the other day and we ended up catching a couple decent sized spots. Thanks for making good honest content.
Love the lil crank baits and poppers! I usually clip off one of the treble hook points? Too much trouble to unhook those wee hooks 👍
That's the crick Hopper I've been using lately the yellow one with a red tint to it.

I don't know how much they cost, but ya might want to order 3-4 more, just in case. You're right-They're a great lure to have and use.

They can't get enough for crickets and grasshoppers this time of year Great video John Nice little creek
These are some of your best videos. Better than the lake stuff.
Just bought the crickhopper like 30 minutes ago
Love the nature shots. One of the perks of fishing, going outside, exploring, is experiencing your surroundings.. Lots of activity for such a small creek.

Love your videos. I know I can hit like and sit back and go on a little adventure. Perfect.
What a creek spot. That small creek is full of all kinds of life. Well done sir
That creek is a unique opportunity. The opportunity for “U” to “neek” up on the fish. Nice video, entertaining Thanks John.
Great shots of the fry & minnows thank you again John 🙏🏼❣️
That hopper is noooo joke 👌🏼
Love the excitement values of your vids, keep it going!
My brother its been hot here in Southeast TN
High school football started last Friday here in Tennessee Jon!! Wooooooo weeeeeeeeeee!!!!
Beautiful sunfish down there. I need to catch a redbreast
Love your videos. Keep it up. My son and I use to fish ditches and roadside streams in north Florida. Now we are a little closer to your neck of the woods and have learned more about river and stream fishing here and techniques for catching more fish.
Always enjoy watching your reviews on lures. Tried some hellgormite you used on a video and look forward to trying cricket.
Hellgramites rule, especially for trout!
Always loved catch blue gills on the crickets. Great video.
John love your content. Keep it up. You do the kind of fishing I really like to do.
Here in SW Ohio little black crikets are everywhere right now. Nice reminder to break out my black crickhopper. Cool video John.
Can confirm. Creek hoppin with the cricket lure always slaps. Good video!
Picked up a few rebel crickhoppers at Walmart a few months ago. Have not used em yet. Walking a creek on Labor day. Going to give em a try. Thanks...
I got the one with the popper style nose, I like it a little better than the diving one. Definitely a great small stream or pond lure.
I bought a few after subscribing and love them. It's a blast to fish those on light and ultralight gear. The catches are always like potluck dinner. Great video brother
Perfect season for those lures. I have caught many species on them some bigger fish. Thanks for sharing the vid!
I like using the green one after it rains right along shoreline. I even caught 5lb catfish off of it
I only saw the title and immediately thought Rebel Crickhooper or Crawfish. I’ve been having fun with it at little ponds lately.
A neat little creek to fish in and catch fish!
It really does bring out reactions. I use them fairly often but not the usual way. We have a small spillway and me and my boys use them to catch bluegill for flathead fishing at the local river. I also use them as a fail safe when I can't get the smallmouth to bite.

I started fishing decades ago with rebel lures. Every weekend when I got allowance it was either a model or a lure, depending on the season
i have several of them in multiple colors . they are fun for sure
Love the intro 😍 👌
Many Thanks John !!!
really fun doin the microfishing...very cool little creek with alot of life in it. ty for sharing bro
I love videos when the crikhopper is featured.
That creek looks like it was made for creekhopper. Thank you for sharing and God bless you and your family....🙏❤🙏❤🙏😊🙂😀
Man the crickhopper rocks! I use like every color.. I was using that yellow one lastnight. Thst was a big bass for that skinny creek
Purple and pink is a killer
Hopper rules.
Nice Vid.
FIRST! 😆
HAVE TO ADMIT I HAVEN’t used a crickhopper much. Should give it a try 👍
Nice video
I am using my 4 weight fly rod with grasshopper flies
That creek looks like a good place to toss a little popper on a fly rod,
They are fun lures, the bull frogs like them as well
Use the Crikhopper all the time. So much fun!
I have seen these but never tried them. Just bought my first ultra light pole yesterday. Might try these soon.
Great video John! I definitely need to get me one of these to try out!
This is awesome a video everyday, definitely putting in the work for sure. Keep fishing bud, Myself and others have definitely learned a lot from you. God Bless
Nice intro! Match the hatch! Gotta get me some crickhoppers.
Fun to watch John thanks.

Clicked on this video so fast my head was spinning 😂😂
Another great video, I have one that I haven’t thrown yet, looks like it’s time to try it out
Hey we're from Southern Ohio fish rebel crawls a lot and the cricket Hopper if you shave the bill halfway down you get a whole different bait it's worth it
Fun fishing at its best. Thanks
I have that same lure but in green and it is a killer!!!
When bass are eating bugs on the water this is my go to lure (rebel bighopper)caught a 3to5 lb bass on a ultralight
just put a fuego lt 2500 xh on a panfish elite with some x9 braid using stren 6lb leader and i'm very happy with the results . long smooth accurate cast and quiet retrieve . caught 5 almost a pound red eye and small mouth in 45ish minuet's out the first time yesterday :) . take care dude .

You got lucky not hooking yourself! The rebel wee craw got me while trying to release a little smallie on one of my last videos. Them little hooks still hurt!
Rock out with your crickets out!!!!
I catch all kinds of bass with crik hopper
10:00: do you hear those coyotes?
love watching your videos here in Iraq
Enjoyed the video, that works perfect for that little stream, if you were to use a sinking bait it probably would get hung up on something, was wondering if you have ever tried the rebel frog bait it's similar to that bait your throwing just looks like a frog?
Crik hopper time!!
Amazing Rebel lure 🔥🎣
Like a lot for Ultralight fishing
That’s gonna be really fun being a kids basketball coach.
Snip 1 of the hooks off both hooks. It makes it easier to get out of their mouths when they eat the hook all the way. If possible, snip the leading front hooks and it'll come over cover a little better too.
You can’t go wrong with a rebel lure any kind
You shared many great nature shots in the video (insects, fish in the creek, etc.). A person can find God's creative beauty everywhere. All one needs do is open their eyes.
I've been slaying with these things for years. 👍
I don’t fish the crickhopper a lot, but I feel like I have one good day on it every year
Always wandered if you had to get permission to fish there it used to be alot deeper many years ago
half of the field has a no trespassing sign
were else have you caught in that creek like the biggest fish
It's Hopper time🦗🦗🦗
you should trap those shiners and use them for bait, they're indigenous so it should be legal, best bass bait in the water
do you ever use swivels for quick change lures
sometimes
