I’m a Longhorn fan who went to the game. This was the best showing of fans from the opposing team all year. Granted, the QB situation for Florida was the biggest factor in their loss, but most of the UF fans I talked to were enjoying their trip to Austin and it was a beautiful day. A healthy and more experienced quarterback will make a huge difference for Florida although Warner made some great passes later in the game. Texas had a great first half and Florida did not.

I've been harping that Napier be fired but given what is happening to Todd Golden, I want Napier to stay next year. I'd rather see Fuch's grow a pair and fire Stricklin now and hire a competent AD who will hire the next football and basketball coaches. I do not want Stricklin anywhere near the hiring process of any coach going forward.
I will add that Napier is on borrowed time. He has one year to get to 8-4 or else. The issue with Napier is we are always playing the 1s, very rarely the 2s and never the 3s. The only time the 3s come in is an injury to the 1 or 2. Under Napier, we have rarely blown teams out and blowing teams out is a huge deal. It was why Spurrier did so well. We blew so many teams out that we were able to play the 2s and 3s and injuries to the 1s rarely were felt. Not with Napier. The dropoff from 1s to 2s and the 3s is stark. We have very little depth and it feels like our team is at the high school equivalent of varsity (2s), JV (2s) and freshmen (3s) and I know of no freshmen high school squad that can beat a varsity team.

Florida football team don't leave until Friday. He's been doing this since he got to FLORIDA. WHAT? Who in there right mind leaves 1 day before the game. FLORIDA should have left on Tuesday to be in Austin and Practice in Austin!!!!! 1 full practice and a half practice is all Florida did to prepare for #5 team in the country. Another thing who rest before they travel! Resting before you fly to Texas? When you see all this... Your not shocked they came out and played like they WEREN'T READY!! His job is to make sure the team is READY TO PLAY... That is the most important thing.. AND DOESN'T DO IT!!! This worse than just bad coach who makes bad decisions. He's a terrible coach who won't make changes no matter the result. He already does something based on how he FEELS ABOUT IT!!! RESULTS DON'T MATTER TO HIM!!! Winning doesn't matter to him. If winning matter to Billy he wouldn't fly the team to Texas on Friday even. Bad coaches make changes they try and it don't work out. HE NEVER MAKES CHANGES.. MATTER OF FACT HE DOUBLES DOWN ON HIS BAD CHOICE OVER AND OVER AGAIN!!! Ron Roberts is clone of Austin Armstrong. HE HIRES COACHES THAT IS JUST LIKE THE COACH HE JUST FIRED! He only fired him because he wanted to fake change. IF HE REALLY WANTED CHANGE HE WOULDN'T HIRE THE SAME TYPE OF GUY HE JUST FIRED!!!! Billy Napier is EGO DRIVEN LOSER WHO REFUSES TO MAKE CHANGE!

LSU just got knocked out of playoff contention, so i can envision them coming in lackadaisical and flat, allowing us to get an upset. I gotta wonder if some of their best recruits will go ahead and sit out the rest of the year.

Rooting for the Gators to win absolutely does not mean rooting for the head coach. If you are rooting for a bad head coach simply because he is the Gators head coach, then you are rooting for mediocrity. You want to know why? Because if the media and the fans don't ask for the coach to be fired, then he never will be. If you just blindly give your money to UF no matter how bad the team is, then they no inventive to make any changes. I root for the Gators but I also root for the head coach to be fired. Because I want something better than 6-6. I want 12-0. No excuses, ever! I don't care if the Gator schedule was to play Georgia 12 straight times in a row. Win every one of them. If you don't, bye!!!

Time clean house. Strychnine Todd has just struck out. The Billy hire was hopium-fueled buck fever. Hiring Sunbelt Bill for top dollar when he was going to need a couple of years of on-the-job training (OTJ) was bad enough. Then, there's the ludicrous buyout. The letter was cringeworthy in its tone-deafness and senseless timing. If it's clear he failed to vet coach Goldmember, Strychnine Todd must be fired POST HASTE, as you astutely observed.

We are NEVER going to be good with Scott Stricklin keeping his job as Athletic Director. How he still has his job with 3 major scandals in 3 years, countless bad coaching hires and the bread and butter football program being a catastrophic joke is beyond me. Florida will be a penceiled in victory for any real team who plays us because we are essentially Vanderbilt now. Thanks to everyone ruining, I mean running, things at UF.
It's sad that the only people who actually care are fans and former players.

"We’re moving down there and we have an opportunity to make it 14-3 and we miss a field goal. I think that affected the momentum a little bit, no question about it.”
-U.F.'s Head Football Coach, Billy Napier.
So "missing a 3 point F.G." jammed up the once mighty Florida Gators' momentum.
And still, these same players said (before the Texas game), "We're playing for Coach Napier."
There it is Florida fans. The '24 Gator players allowed UF to get "SPANKED" like very few Gator football teams have ever experienced.
    And all for "Billy Napier."
From their lips to God's ears!

Stooooooooop with the Mullen angle. He quit on the team, refused to recruit, and was mentally unstable in that last season. When it comes to X’s and O’s, he’s great. His arrogance and blind loyalty to his boys on the coaching staff didn’t help him when it came time to let him go.

    • @walker1984

When and if Stricklin gets tied up in Todd's thing, he will be a dead man walking. However, until there is a "real" president at Florida, Stricklin won't go anywhere. Neither will Napier. Think about it. Everyone said Napier needs 6 - 6 to keep the job for 2025 but since he's already penciled in for 2025 it looks like this was never true. Strciklin and Napier are tied at the hip and they sink or swim together. After yesterdays game, I don't see any swimming.

BN is an over achiever that did well at the lower level. He will never, never, never be beyond 8 wins in the SEC. If UF is ever going to competitive again, the first thing is to restructure the UAA for NIL and the portal. Gut the UAA, hire a GM to oversee the profit sports, move the AD to non-revenue. Fire Striklin. Hire a Football GM to keep the football brand (NIL, roster management, fund raising, facilities, academics) and let the GM hired the coach. Same with men's Bball.
