Same in return. I'm a Gator but lived a few years in Baton Rouge and went to more than a few LSU games. Kelly is not a good fit at all!

This game proved to me if Lagway didnt get injured in the georgia game, Georgia would have lost. Lagway just opens up so many options on offense like this dude is absolutely ridiculous. I think we would have still lost to texas but only by 7 or 3 points if Lagway played. But the fact fact we have a chance to finish out this season with 6 or 7 wins and possibly a bowl win just makes me excited for gator football again. You can just see this team can be deadly if everyone stays next season

If this was when this season started, I would have 100% agree with you, but this whole team looks like a different group out there with Lagway out there. And even you can't deny Dj lagway isn't gonna be something special, you're in denial if you say he won't. The defense, true freshman running back, our receiver core, is looking like a team that will be complete next season. We just didn't have that spark to ignite yet when the season started, but to say this team isn't talented is an understatement

As a Gator fan Lagway has given me back hope. They’ve had mostly bad to mediocre qb play since Tebow (outside of Trask and maybe a little of Treon Harris). Having him at qb makes me feel like Florida has at least a chance vs anybody simply because of his playmaking ability. Blows my mind that he’s only even starting now because Mertz got injured. He’s still learning and made some errant throws, but that comes with youth. I think they beat Georgia with him healthy, they still lose to Texas but it would’ve been way closer. The defense and running game was hitting too today, shout out to them. It’s just nice to have “a guy” back there. (Pause) 🤷🏿♂️
Will Grier was good too. That farce of a drug incident ended his and Jim McElwain's career at Florida unfortunately.
@ I actually forgot about Grier. Will was on Ligandrol, he said it himself. He said that he didn’t know it was banned, but he also never checked with the team to confirm whether or not it was allowed, that’s a no no. Dude went through a super saiyan transformation in one summer lmaooo, I wouldn’t call that a farce. I mean he was punished for his wrongdoing, that’s how it works. I think Florida wins the championship that year if he plays throughout, all things considered. 🤷🏿♂️

Billy Napier season opener was actually a win against a top 10 Utah in 2022 but it's a step in the right direction regardless. Even in that Utah win, we didn't look like a complete team but this feels different

I can't help but wonder if we would be looking at a very different Florida season if DJ Lagway started from Week 1 and never got injured. I haven't followed Florida too closely so I don't know how good Mertz was, but Lagway's injury certainly impacted the Georgia game.
Ole Miss needs to make sure it doesn't overlook this team.

It's not a question of if Graham Mertz is good. It's a STATEMENT that DJ Lagway is that much better. Graham Mertz is a very respectable QB... but not for a playoff level team. Maybe if he was at a MAC level school, I could see him being to elevate the talent around him as he has had relatively good numbers through his career. He also just played in a lot of run heavy offenses at Wisconsin with a simple offensive approach that stunted his development because if you look back at his first career start in 2020, he went 20/21... he also threw 5 touchdowns. He's capable but not enough to elevate a mediocre team like Florida in the SEC.

Only lsu could:
- control time of possession 41:13 to 18:17
- out gain florida through the air and on the ground
- have almost 400yds of total offense
- convert 13/24 third downs compared to florida’s 3/9
- get 25 first downs compared to florida’s 13
- throw no picks
- have less penalties (3 for 25) compared to florida’s 7 for 55
and still manage to lose by double digits.
Stats don’t win games.

The Gators have had a great defense all season. It was always the questionable offense and injuries which hurt them. There was three games they could have won with the offense being healthy.

Yea ima have to say no on them being a great defense. They are pretty neutral (closer to bad than good) if you ask me. They absolutely got ripped apart in several games. However they’ve also had some great performances like against Georgia and again today. I will throw them some bail because they’ve been very banged up, are very young, and against Texas and the second half of Georgia they were on the field for very long portions of the game (because of Aidan being very limited as a thrower which made the offense struggle heavily).

I don't know what happened during that week off but this isn't the same defense that started the season which looks bad. This defense is stingy and made Carson beck throw 4 picks and kept a highly potent Tennessee offense at bay. The Texas game I think they just gave up because it was pointless with our 3rd string QB but they still had good moments in that game also. I don't know bro but if you ask me as of right now, this florida defense is a top 4 sec defense. Give or take where they are placed because like I said, beginning of the season didn't help their case
@ Miami was bad, Texas A&M was bad, Mississippi state was bad (sure they won, but giving up 240 yards rushing is nasty work), and Texas was bad. As I said I give them some bail because they had virtually no offense against Texas which means the defense was out there all game plus they were heavily banged up on that side as well. They’ve been solid to great in all the others. So overall, neutral imo. 🤷🏿♂️

Lagway is an impressive player. Once dude gets some more experience, with some decent pass protection and some playmakers to get the ball to, he could be really tough to stop in the future, very near future even.
Gators defense is no joke. If our team gets fully healthy, we could be on our way to Atlanta next year.

They still would’ve lost to Texas but yea it’s probably much closer with DJ playing (more like 35-24, rather than 49-17, the defense was on the field the entire game vs them because there was no offense). When you have a playmaker like that at qb you essentially have at least a chance against anyone because of how much they can affect the game. 🤷🏿♂️

I will NOT gloat as an Irish fan annoyed at Brian Kelly.
