    United are the biggest club in England, so now the whole world is watching. Supporters want to see a football revolution, haters want to see him fail. But supporters need to be realistic and patient. I remember the calls for Klopp to be sacked when things weren't working in his first season. A change this radical in tactics and philosophy will take time. But as long as the board do back him and give him room to work his way, United will be operating on an absolute different level altogether to as they were the last 3 years, especially in the following two seasons when the next manager comes in, most likely Poch or Ten Hag. Very exciting for supporters.

    I’m curious to see how Pogba fits into a Rangnick system, if at all. It seems that Pogba’s work rate is insufficient to play in the type of system typical of this manager. I think a player can develop new skills, but trying to imagine that Pogba will suddenly become the type of player who gives maximum effort on the pitch is a bit of a reach. I guess we’ll see how it all shapes up.

      @GarthCamp 2 года назад

      @@walata11 He is out of contract, but I suspect Pogba will drag his injury out as long as possible. He could potentially be fit enough to play again this season, but it would negatively impact his marketability if he played and showed his typical work ethic. Mctominay has a high work-rate and he’ll likely be fine. Shaw? Maguire’s issue is the speed of his neurons or whether they are firing at all sometimes, not the press as the centre-backs are less strained by this system than other positions. Not sure how you get someone to simply be smarter.

    • @ShaniAce
      @ShaniAce 2 года назад +1

      Yeah actually I think this has been one of United's main problems in recent years. They have a lot of technically gifted players like Pogba and their entire forward line (Ronaldo, Greenwood, Rashford, Martial), but none of them are known to be hard-working runners and ball-chasers like a Bobby Firmino, for example.
      And it might turn out that those players won't fit into that system or philosophy. Or maybe some of them will adapt or at least become utility players.
      But I think this is the right way to go, and if some of the players don't fit the system, well then you gotta sell them and replace them with others that are a better fit.

    Progression is the task for Rangnick to take them closer to rivals - so central question is - panic measure or true progression? - I get a sense from the Board that they are catching up with appointment to make the club more relevant - and if you ask supporters is this the right move then counter argument is what else is an option? I would back Ter Stegen as the new boss given his record of developing young talent and this would fit with both our philosophy and age profile of Rangnick's previous successes - the what else option does not exist

    ManU offered him the interim and he declined unless he could stay on as a consultant. ManU then came back and offered him the interim and met HIS demands about his role moving forward. That doesn't leave many questions to be asked here. He decided his role and he set out the plan to follow regardless of what results ManU have at the end of the season. His role will be a big one and had to be for him to agree and credit to ManU for finally making the right "football" decision here. The KEY and main points to make is that ManU, moving foward from this point on, will have an identity on the pitch set by a coach that is highly regarded and respected, players will now be held to high standards and accountable, and a football mind will be making the decisions moving forward as it should be regarding matters related to the first team. He will look for a coach that best suites the identity and style of the team moving foward to continue playing the "ManU" way. No more decisions like appointing Mourinho and expecting the team to play offensively, as we expect. The best teams maintain their high levels because they have a set DNA and identity and they recruit and get the players and coaches that fit that style. Coaches can come and tweak and make changes tactically but the core values and essence remain the same.

All of his projects are never short or mid term. And they are always successful because much like Klopp (who learned from him) he respects the club's culture and looks from the top to the bottom on how to improve everything. This is the best choice the club could have made.

    He DOESN'T WANT to become the permanent manager. He prefers to remaining in the background & change the club top down by implementing his own philosophy.
