If anything that was the problem with Ole's reign - club legend, blah blah blah, he's coming home blah blah blah - he was set up to fail from the beginning. You've got to admit that most right-minded fans knew that he was never the right man for the job. The media were out to slay him from the off. As a cold appointment, Van Gaal was probably the most astute - terrible football though. Moyes was 'handpicked' by Fergie, Jose had long coveted the job, is one of Fergie's mates plus he has a brislty character and was easily going to get hacked off with the board and certain players with ego bigger than his, and Ole was like a work experience placement gone wrong. They’re both been scathing about the club since leaving and are right. These are world class managers of the highest level. There’s little to nothing about the game they don’t know.
