Is it possible to have too much water or in vise versa not enough yeast in water to not cause it to bloom? And if I stir once it blooms, will it still stir? Reason why I ask, when I keep stirring when I should of leave it alone I always think my yeast is dead. But is it really dead?
Same for me. I used this exact brand of activated yeast, used a thermometer, and its still not working after 3 attempts. The expiration date is still a year and a half away
The sugar just feeds the yeast. Don't dump a 5 gallon bucket of sugar into it, just put enough so it can saturate in the water. I normally go for a 50-50 yeast-sugar ratio.
This isn't a recipe, she's just teaching how to tell if your yeast has bloomed correctly or if it's dead. Whatever recipe you're using yeast in should tell you the sugar to yeast to water ratio :)
Thanks for the short n sweet video!
Thank you !
What proportion of yeast to water should be used to test it?
Just enough but not too much on how you're gonna use it

uhh
I always thought
dough = proof
yeast = bloom
My yeast has a good date on it but it didn’t do anything with my warm water and honey mixture. What am I doing wrong 😢

This video doesn't mention any sugar or salt and the proportion of water to yeast is also missing. I think the whole video should be re-done!
A pinch
@@opinionated4219it says on the back of the packet that you would need 1 tsp of sugar
Lame video. Didn’t say how much water OR sugar. What was the point? I came here to learn. This taught me NOTHING.

Use the amount of water called in your recipe
