I want to know how to track an outdoor walk so that it shows exactly the route that I go, and it saves this route so that I have it for posterity, so I can see how I improve from day-to-day looking at real world maps and compare the miles walked and routes taken from day to day.
I bought an Apple Watch SE a week ago but unfortunately, it doesn't track the outdoor walk as the exercise properly. A few times now I have been walking for around 50 min and it has tracked less than half of it and the other day hasn't tracked anything at all... My walk is brisk enough and I allow free wrist movement. Moreover, it has been recorded properly for the first few days even with a lower speed... Very disappointing and demotivating, I bought it to track my activity but it doesn't serve the purpose :(

My watch is not tracking my walking time or distance when I use my treadmill. It tracks walking outside. How does the watch track my walking activity? BTW, I don't want to use the exercise section on the watch for walking on the treadmill. I didn't buy nor want to use my watch for that level.
The watch has a couple different ways to track you’re walking activity. To make sure that you earn Exercise credit during walks, allow the arm with your Apple Watch to swing naturally. The Activity app relies on arm motion and an accelerometer to track movement. The Workout app has other features such as heart rate and GPS the can help with these. How do I sync my apple watch fitness app with my actual sleep and awake schedule? I go to bed really late and sleep late due to my work schedule. I am so exciting to get one for Christmas.
Does it do this automatically?

Take care.
Can you see how many steps have been taken during a single workout rather than over the period of the day?
Hey there! We know how important it is to track your steps. At the moment, there isn’t a way to see the steps during a workout, but you can view the steps other ways.
In the Health app, you can view the steps on a graph and check the time frame for the steps. One way to do so is by opening the Health app >Summary > Steps. Here’s a resource that goes over the Health app on your iPhone:s.apple.com/dE0l5Z7n5g

Had a series 5 had problems recording workout and movement. Sold it, thought the series 7 might have fixed this. Nope 👎. First workout, only counted half and had to start new workouts to finish the 25 minutes of what was actually 45 minutes. And the movement hardly budged. This was outdoor walking.
We know it’s important to features to work as expected. We’re happy to help.

Your Apple Watch may also need to be calibrated. These links can help you with this.

My step counter is very inaccurate. My health data is entered/accurate and fitness tracking is turned on in both my phone & watch settings. Tried to calibrate via a 20 min workout walk and my total daily step count increased by only 80 steps! Yeah right. Seems legit. Wondering if it’s time to wipe all previous activity via recalibration. Bummed if that’s the case. ::sigh::

The background music :)
How do I sync my apple watch fitness app with my actual sleep and awake schedule? I go to bed really late and sleep late due to my work schedule. It's very frustrating for me when all of my stats such as calories burned, steps and workout goals for my day are split between two days. The watch starts over at midnight every night but I may not have even worked out yet and still have plenty of activity before I go to bed at around 4:30am. Is there a fix for this? Thanks
Thanks for reaching out. We’re here to help. You can add or change your Sleep schedule in the Health app on your iPhone by following the steps here: s.apple.com/DI1v9y3uz2

@@applesupport Yes, I know how to change my sleep schedule. The problem is that I do not go to bed before midnight. Let's say i workout and burn 1000 calories but half way through my workout, the clock turns to midnight. The fitness app will show that I burned 500 calories yesterday and 500 today. The problem is that for me it is still yesterday since i have not gone to bed yet. I want all my tracking data for that day to be tracked on that day and start tracking the new data when i wake up.
Thanks a lot

@@applesupport well I went on and bought the apple s8 watch and so far, so good but I really wish they would make an app where it's more like Fitbit more info and they hit you with readiness scores, so you know when to rest and when to go all out, it's definitely not a deal breaker for me.
