tried at least 20 times failure after failure. But then I did the exact same thing whilst watching this video and it worked. I think the watch just likes hearing Siri

My new Iphone 14 plus is not pairing with my iwatch. Not sure if it is b/c of being in NYC hotel, but this sucks. Wasted 1 hour even looking at the other u tube videos. If this does not pair by last day of 2022, I'll buy a new phone and new watch from a different vendor (open to suggestions).
Mine does not work that way. It says I need to update to watchOS. My Apple Watch steps are nothing like this one.

Everybody, you have to shine it in light like let’s just say you turn on a light you put it close to the Apple Watch and it’s actually more easier. It actually takes more longer, so please do not put the ZIP Code because it actually takes more longer. It turns off your Internet, so it doesn’t work , I’m setting up for my mom and sometimes for me because I have a heart condition it spikes up my heart and I have to sit down somewhere
