bring back the old do not disturb. this is too much
I just want to hit "Do Not Disturb"and be done with it. I still get phone calls as I can not figure out how to stop any incoming anything.

One thing that would be still a game changer is to be able to change my notification tones in a certain focus mode.

Should have just left the do not disturb alone. The old way was much easier and worked better. When it was on and off , this new focus when set up still Have spam calls come through. Just stop making things so complicated when a no / off button will do.

My modus operandi is to delete phone calls unless they have left a voicemail. That’s the way it was done when we had the old style answering machines. If they have something important to say, they will leave a message. If it’s spam, they get deleted in the mass deletion.
iOS 16 makes Focus even more useful omg
How do you figure that? I just want to hit "Do Not Disturb" an be done with it without all those other distractional options
Would it be possible to add an option - “allow calls from” and “recieve messages from” according to the chosen SIM card (when using multiple SIMs in iPhone)? That would be sooooo helpful for optimizing the work/life balance.
"If it ain' broke..." Re: FOCUS - I think you forgot some serious beta testing. Guess what? 12 more buttons to hit just to focus. Turning off my phone regularly now to stop this horrifically bad idea. I have friends that work at Apple headquarters and will share with them: Worst. Update. Ever.

I would love Focus filter for dual sim. When personal focus is on; only calls from personal is allowed. Work calls only come through when work focus is on. Also, text notifications and missed calls from work line doesn’t show in Notification Center or Lock Screen. I had my work line on my iPhone, but I couldn’t stand seeing missed calls and texts in my notifications when I with my family. I ended up getting a used Pixel for work calls/texts. That way I can fully focus on my family when I should. The only downside has been forgetting my work phone at home and the office is 40 miles away.
i came here to try and find a solution to this!
a complicated way to miss a call or notification you shouldn’t and to add anxiety for when in fact you didn’t.
I like using it for custom icon profiles (through select home screen pages) and using shortcuts automation to detect when its on for a custom wallpaper automation
This is too complicated - before I could just switch on focus and get some peace. Now I have to turn my phone off unless I do a training course.
Confusing. I select “sleep” and don’t know how to set a time range. Make it more user friendly. It’s too complicated.
It's awful and so complicated. I just want Do Not Disturb On or Off. Just keep it simple. Too much to manage.
I love focus mode. I made one that triggers automatically when I get into work, it mutes my phone and puts it in DND so I don’t get interrupted during meetings. It switches off automatically when I leave work.
I turn on my Focus with a key. Ford Focus.
Unnecessarily complex!!! We just want to very simply turn all notifications on and off... ios16 makes it feel like we're being forced into focus!

Is there a way of silenced notifications not coming through to notification centre? Even though they don’t ping they’re still there in a section that says they’ve been muted due to the focus mode however I still end up clicking them and would prefer them to not come through entirely until my focus status changes
this way is so much easier the the way you used to have to do it with shortcuts i used shortcuts once with a focus and when i was done the wallpaper didnt switch back to my original wallpaper so i had to delete the shortcuts

Focus is the best feature Apple ever created. I use it all time, and mix it with wallpapers, smart lists/reminders, main screen etc... so good!!

glad you can figure out how to use it. Any way I can just turn the thing off? I no longer get a ring on incoming calls. They go straight to voicemail and I cannot figure out how to turn the phone ring feature on.

Hey Apple. Could you please add a feature that blocks access to certain apps when a particular focus setting is switched on? For example, I'd like to stop doomscrolling on instagram and linkedin after 10 at night and before 11 in the morning, so I would like to set a focus grouping that completely blocks those apps during those times. Note: I do not want the timelimit setting. That is too easy to bypass! Please tell me this feature is in production? I am at the mercy of my device these days. This setting would make humanity so much more productive.

“When you schedule downtime in Settings, only phone calls and apps that you choose to allow are available. Downtime applies to all of your Screen Time-enabled devices, and you get a reminder five minutes before it starts.”
Instead of blocking those few apps, make the downtime to only allow the necessary apps during those hours.
Or you can set limits, limit how much time you spend in those apps.
“You can set daily limits for app categories with App Limits. For example, you might want to see productivity apps while you're at work, but not social networking or games. App Limits refresh every day at midnight, and you can delete them any time.”

However, i found that the calendar widget in my lock screen do not shows any events even an event is present in the calendar widget in the home screen. Did you noticed that?

Hi, thanks for the video giving an idea regarding the use of Focus, What if "Sleep Focus Mode" is scheduled to get activated everyday at 11 PM, but sometimes I start a focus mode, lets say "Work Foucs Mode" and on that day I do not want "Sleep Focus Mode" to activate at 11 PM automatically till "Work Focus Mode" is manually deactivated by me, what should be done?
That’s a wonderful question and you’ve come to a great place for help. If you’re not wanting to have the scheduled Focus enable at the same time, you can turn off Schedule in Settings > Focus > Sleep Focus > Sleep Schedule. This will prevent the desire Focus from automatically enabling at the scheduled time, and give you the opportunity to enable when you’re ready. I have set certain focus modes for myself like sleep and work but i am having a problem. For example if sleep focus turns off AOD, when it turns off, AOD doesn’t turn on automatically, is it a bug or normal?

My phone will not ring and takes call straight to voice mail. Somehow Focus suddenly appeared on my I Phone and i cannot get the ringer to sound for an incoming call. I just want to turn the Focus feature off. It is unnecessarily complex and I don't want to use it. Can anyone help me out? I have spent the last 2 hours on you tube to try and get rid of this feature.
We're glad to help! According to this page of the iPhone User Guide, you can turn off a Focus by going to Settings > Focus, locate the Focus in question and tap it to turn it off: s.apple.com/dH8h3r1g9T You can also open the Control Center, select the Focus and turn it off from there as well.

I'm using focus to turn off notifications comes from other apps when I'm using youtube but the problem is there is focus notification when I open or close youtube the same thing with other apps or gaming 😂

Focus wallpapers confuse me
When I enable low power mode filter for my do not disturb focus , it enables it when the focus turns on but does not disable it when the focus ends. Any fix ?

how do I create a location dependent focus? I tried it but unfortunately it doesn't work. The Focus function doesn't seem to have access to the GPS data.

Can a Focus mode be added to a HomeKit scene? It would be great if I could say goodnight and all my lights turned off and my phone switched to a Focus mode that allows calls from one family member (one of “those” calls expected anytime now) but stopped all the nuisance texts and other non urgent calls. I sleep at different times to most of society so I get woken a lot, but because we have a family member close to the end I need to be contactable. If not, I’ll set it up separately, but it would be great to have it in my goodnight scene. I can see many other ways it could be great within other HomeKit scenes too.

the work profile does not work. I customized so that only notifications from one particular app are allowed but I still get notifications from WhatsApp even though the WhatApp app is not in the allowed list

Used to be so good until apple ruined it with their new update that gutted Do Not Disturb, why do we need all these focuses? Just have a do not disturb that actually works. Nothing is silenced even though I tell it to be silenced, thank god there is still an option to silence notifications with a setting since DND is useless now.
How can I remove this? I’m not sure if I’m going to receive my notifications or a phone call or not I just want everything to come through.
Part of what is great about using Focus is deciding when it works for you and when you’d rather get all of your notifications front and center. We can help with that!

See my problem is I’m trying to create a new focus with new Home Screen but I already have 7 Home Screen pages and it won’t let me make new ones, is there a way to bypass this?

I'm a dingbat so can't remember the word "focus" so sleep focus becomes "hey siri activate sleep mode" and siri being so smart knows to use sleep focus.
