GPS actually does use satellites to find you. In fact, your devices have to connect to multiple satellites simultaneously to pinpoint your location. If you're in an area with cellular service, a Cellular + GPS Apple Watch could share your location to help find you.
just a litle correction/precision in case a tin foil hat passes by : when using GPS, your device does not actually comunicate with the satellite. GPS satellites emit constantly a signal with their known position and time, and your device compare the time delay between the signal to position itself. nobody can know if you're using GPS or not and so nobody can know your position if your device have no connexion or does not share it

When you try to find your iPhone from the drop down menu by pinging the new feature where you can find your phone and your watch leads you there is that for all iPhones ?
The point of the watch is not to replace your phone but make your life a little more convenient. Maybe get you into shape or just to let you know when something is to loud. Little things that make your apple experience even better.
When you sign in to your Apple ID and have your Find My Enable, it will be automatically set. How about if I didnt Enable it at first: How do I Enable it after that? Just unpair an pair it again?

Idk why but my watch won’t connect. On the app on my phone it says it’s hooked up but find my app and on my watch says it’s not. I try to switch it but it’s muted and won’t let me turn it on.

This is impressive I just rang my Mac Pro. I use Mac Pro as an audio engineer and video editing. I finally decided to swap one of my phones for a 15 pro and I grabbed the ultra 2 as well. I must Say Samsung Ultra still does what it does better than Any other device. But I have a new found respect for IPhone. I left apple many years ago when it was 3GS! It’s nice to see they have finally created a worthy foe to Samsung Former Note now Ultra! Ultra is still King but the Pro Max is King as well just in a different territory I love them both
Although this video shows the watch getting the "Left Behind" notification for a device, the "information" display on the watch for Left Behind says that: "Notify When Left Behind for this device will only notify you when your phone separates, not for this watch" I believe this means if you just leave only taking your watch, you won't be notified of Left Behind devices. Is this true even for cellular Apple Watches?

But sharing location from a watch doesn't actually share the location of the watch. If I use Find My on my iPhone to try to track my (aged) mother when she walks around the block, Find My only shows the location of her iPhone at the kitchen table. I have even called Apple and had a snide Senior Advisor tell me there was no way to do it except to add her to Friends and Family so that I could track her in my list of devices. Does that mean my brothers and my aunt and any other friend of hers needs to add her to their Friends and Family circle. That's ridiculous. The Senior Advisor thought I was ridiculous for asking. I had it working on her Watch 5, but the series 7 will not do it. Any suggestions?
Doesn't work 18th March 2023.... I'm signed in as my primary apple account on iCloud and the app store, but I'm assuming apps downloaded on my iPhone from a different app store account is messing this up. Apple you need to fix this. It just doesn't work. Find my items does, Find People and Find Devices doesn't yet it works on the iPhone which defeats the purpose. On a brand new Apple Watch SE

@@applesupport unpair and pair again didn't work. What worked was erase everything on the watch and start again. But definitely a bug. Too many variables. Chinese iPhone with UK apple watch, and some apps on the iphone downloaded from the Chinese app store, when the main account is UK app store and iCloud account. Although, likely not this but it should be looked into this bug.

The solution for this is reinstall the WhatsApp, it also happened to me when I do a reset all settings in iPhone's settings then my WhatsApp notification will disappear, needing me to reinstall for show it up then, kindda weird tho ˙ ͜ʟ˙
