I think it would be ideal to be able to edit the information that is shared with each poster. This would allow you to have, for example, one poster for work and another for friends, since you don't necessarily want to share all your data with certain groups. Regards!
I love the Contact poster! Like others I wish there was an option to have a different poster and contact info depending on group I’m sending it to. One for family and friends and one for business!
I’m not too fond of how the posters grey for everyone you haven’t assigned a poster to (default) I wonder if there’s an option to change the same poster for everyone? (for example a black screen)
It doesn’t work for me. I can’t see other people’s posters and they can’t see my poster.

Your contact would have to upgrade to IOS 17 to work.
Me and my contacts have upgraded to IOS 17 but still contact poster is not working
If the contacts are being synced via a third-party service, then this could be a potential reason for the issue. The accounts being used with the Contacts can be double-checked within Settings > Contacts > Accounts.

You should fix the issue of the Contacts App HUGE storage space taken; it’s not normal that just a list of contacts uses 3GB
I love that after they have you fully customize your display image and First Name, they slap your Last Name in the final result which you have no control over. Brilliant. Really. 2:29
Cool feature, doesn’t seem to be working yet… I’ve updated my Contact Poster but other users with iOS 17 aren’t seeing the new photo/poster.

Please fix the emoji color on posters, give us the option to resize the contact name since I don’t like the animation for long names

Make a contact poster, iCloud must be signed in to settings, go to contacts and tap any contact and change poster.

What do you do if your contacts refuse to update or set one up?
It is not working in Australia. Is it cellular carrier dependant? You cannot share contact photo and poster, it says disabled and won't take to the next button share contact photo and poster
Tried today between two iOS 17 devices, but it doesn't work. Does it require some time for the sync? And does the Exchange account sync affect the result?

It would be really great if we could multiple contact posters for ourselves.
If some asks me for my contact information I might only want to share an email address with them. Not my WHOLE contact card. That one I might want to share with extended family or to friends and family if my number or address has changed.

One of the best features in iOS 17. Love it!
You should be able to do this with multiple devices. It disables if logged in on more than one device.
My question is what actually gets shared? Like my address and other emails?? I feel like there are some things I would prefer not to share with people? 😭
I found that an initial fix is to delete yourself as a contact on the receiver’s phone, then you can airdrop it afterwards and it’ll save your new contact poster. The only problem is that it only transfers over your number, so you’ll have to re-add other data e.g birthdays, emails etc.
That’s just dumb. You gonna do that with the 200 plus contacts in your phone?
For now, this is iPhone hell. All my preexisting contact photos seem screwed up? Help

I tried in IOS 17 and keep getting disabled message. I will try again in 17.0.1.

Can you guys make it so that we don’t have to us our Apple ID password to download apps please?
I performed all the steps and it looked fine initially. After a few minutes, the Contact poster and photo resets to default both in contacts, also in Settings.
I restarted and the contact photo and poster looked fine, but the Photo next to my name in Settings menu was the old one.
Someone else with the same issue? 😥

I have iphone 13 but there is a glitch in my screen it flikers sometimes could it be a software bug ? Because I purchased it a week ago from my known person and its not waterdamage and it didn’t have a single scratch and im very tensed regarding that because i just buyed it a week ago 😭😭

For those having issues:
You only share the information you’ve chosen. Your chosen photo and name will only show up if the other user chooses update when the pop-up appears next time a message between one another is sent. Changes can be made in Settings>Messages>Share_Name_and_Photo. Otherwise, name and photo will remain as whatever the other person has of you in contacts.

How do you limit what contact information is shared? As others have said, I don't want to share all my info with all my contacts.

Does it work on iOS 17 iPads?
No. This feature is not currently available for iPadOS 17 or its respective devices. You can use the iPad User Guide to keep track of if this feature has been added for the iPad. s.apple.com/dE4z4T7g2A Just search Contact Poster in the Search bar.

Can I choose who I share the poster with? It looks like I can only turn it on and off.
You can select 'Always Ask' to be prompted before your name, photo, and poster are shared with anyone you’re communicating with.

And I am facing another problem: When I put my iPhone next to another iPhone (both on iOS17), then both phones do not exchange the contact posters but both phones only show their „own“ contact posters. In other words: my iPhone shows my contact poster and the same applies with the other person‘s iPhone. Have you heard of this issue before?

I set up a new contact for a friend, but since I didn’t have a poster for them, I just skipped that step. Now, instead of their profile picture displaying big on their profile, it’s just their initials. How can I get their profile to show the big profile picture again? I can’t figure it out.

Funktioniert nicht. Meine Freundin hat ein iPhone 14 Pro mit iOS 17, ich ein 14 Pro Max mit iOS 17. Wir haben bei uns beiden jeweils bei unserem eigenen Kontakt das Kontaktposter erstellt. Wenn ich sie anrufe oder sie mich anruft, sehen wir dennoch nur den grauen Hintergrund, mehr nicht. Das Kontaktposter sehen wir vom anderen nicht. Es funktioniert nur, wenn ich bei dem Kontakt meiner Freundin in meiner „Telefon-App“ ein Bild von ihr einspeichere. Wenn sie mich dann anruft, sehe ich dieses Bild. Sonst nicht.

It's not working!! My friend and I using iOS 17, for both its not working. Looks like Apple didn't test it well or it's a bug.

While customizing your Contact Poster, swipe left to change the backdrop. You’ll then see an icon to change the color used int backdrop at the bottom.

it is impossible to customize 300/400 contacts in your address book. you need to update so we can choose whether we want to view other people's photos or not. However, it doesn't work today, it's buggy.
