@@dankpingu4056 It’s literally the point of his character. There’s plenty of Batman iterations that don’t fit the narrative like Kevin Smiths run. What narrative do you mean specifically?
@@Beebok_Beebop No I mean of the themes the DC Universe want to convey, like murder is always bad. Jason doesn’t fit that so why would they promote his character in a sense claiming he was right?
Red Hood's not as bad as the Punisher. The Punisher is somewhat excessive in how he operates, even killing people like Stilt Man, who was a low end crook who, by the time Punisher actually got around to killing hom, was actually trying to be a better person. There isn't a fine line for the Punisher, especially when he's at his more mentally ill moments. Red Hood at least has some sense that he shouldn't kill *_every_* criminal ever. Not that I agree with him to begin with.
@@Dripularsteinhe straight up murdered a supervillain turned superhero on the dudes FIRST DAY as a hero, dude wasn't even a good supervillain, iirc he never even successfully commited a crime. punisher in the comics is a massive POS
This was a great WHAT IF situation had Jason Todd survived the explosion. And adding it to the DC animated universe as. A "choose your path" addition to the Under the Red Hood storyline.
@saguaroK the movie is Death in the Family. It takes the Under the Red Hood movie and turns it into a "What If" movie scenario that gives you different paths to choose from. And it splits off into about six different endings. The "Final, Real" Ending wraps things up pretty nicely, don't wanna spoil it for you. But it's pretty good. This basically charts what COULD happen to Jason if he had survived the blast or if Batman died saving him. If you liked Under the Red Hood, you'll like this one, most of the endings end pretty short within a few choices, but finding the long ending takes a bit.
Jason over here blaming bruce when almost all of his sidekicks would be dead or murderers without him. -Dick would've done everything he could to kill the man who killed his family or more likely died trying -jason would've lived his life stealing or potentially killing which he was doing as a kid -tim sought out batman and deduced Bruce's identity and basically told him either he trains him or he's doing this anyways -barbara basically just made a costume and went out on her own and bruce eventually helped train her better -damian would've been the head of an assassination organization Same goes with the people from the comics: Signal: lost his parents to joker, started a gang of vigilantes called the robins, got acknowledged by Alfred and bruce (once he got his memories back) and received proper training Stephanie brown: father was crime lord, she valued doing the right thing, became spoiler (and robin for a bit) and received proper training Cassandra Cain: Mute Assassin raised from birth to kill, batman saved her and set her on a better less bloodsoaked path Bruce gets blamed all the time for training them but if he hadn't they'd be dead because of their own stupid decisions. And im sure he'd get blamed if he didn't and that the death is on him regardless.
My blame is that he’s too weak to kill. I’m not saying he has to go around murdering people but he truly could have prevented some HEINOUS things from happening. Idc about his “code” peoples lives, good peoples lives are worth INFINITELY more than a stupid code AND worth more than a life like the jokers.
Ok but Bruce could have just adopted them and taught them better ways to make a change, not given a twelve year old combat training and made them fight armed mentally ill people 😭 like Jason was totally right, at the end of the day they were children being misled when they should have been given a normal childhood without an environment of violence around them. They should have been raised like kids and then given the chance to take up vigilantism as adults, not have it forced on them bc their naive 10 year old selves said they wanted to fight crime
Yeah, plus Bruce should've never even had adopted those kids. If this is a real life setting, why would a hero train a toddler to go fight murderers, child molesters, and sex traffickers in a brightly colored Speedo. Batman has hundreds of billions of dollars and could've easily vetted candidates for parents to each one of his robins.
@@Scrote69hes not weak to kill if he kills these super criminals then it ends there and batman ends whats the point of killing them this isnt supposed to be like real life people its a super hero saving gotham if batman starts killing then theres no point of continuing his story
It's even sadder that Jason Todd had the potential to and was at one point suppose to be the chosen successor to Batman back in the 80's. That whole vote back in the 80's had either Batman or Todd dying, with either Todd blaming himself for the death of Batman and dedicating himself to reviving Batman and take on his mantle in guilt, Both Batman or Robin surviving, or Batman mourning the loss of his son and blaming his death on his actions.
Which was also the reason why the Joker killed him. The Joker never wanted the game of torture for Bruce Wayne to end. It was the perfect idea to ensure his suffering could continue, because if the Joker allowed that mantle to be passed on to Todd, he would allow Bruce's suffering to end.
He's doing what needs to be done and is a victim of his circumstances. If people stopped being snowflakes and stood up to criminals it would be different.
To be fair tho on the Damian statement... he was literally trained from birth by a clan of assassins, it just so happened that they wanted Bruce to taking him. Edit: The short uses Damian for the statement after Barbara's section, so I assumed Jason was mentioning Damian.

Imagine we had Red Hood's plan instead of whatever the fuck we got with Catwoman's or Batman's plan in Gotham War 😂😂😂.
Yet he allowed the one criminal that only does his bs FOR Batman. All Batman has to do it take out one person. Jason todd has perhaps my favorite character arch of all time
Better than bat. He doesnt turn into an evil joker, he gets the job done
Atleast he didn’t turn into the Batman that laughs
@themandeedubs that comic is even worse. Batman the most disciplined man in the world goes insane after killing joker. Why, what's the real reason. It's just poor writing. Might be the same guys that wrote the end of the live action game of thrones series, because I loved dc but all these batman sht doesn't make sense. Lmaoo it's not even amusing to read anymore. Batman tries to go against ww, Robin, superman , cyborg, having night wing as back up. Make that make sense. Lmao a high tech alien infused human robot, vs two gods should've been enough. It's a joke to say the least.

I wish they made a comic or movie where Jason actually challenges Batman’s moral code and doesn’t just end with “Jason is lost and he will find himself again”. Because Jason is absolutely right
Fr. Batman's no kill mentality is fucking stupid, If this clown, ronald mc Donald looking mudda fucker is casuing all of these people to die and you put him in jail. And then he just breaks out and kills more people and you put him in jail again... AND HE BREAKS OUT AND KILLS EVEN MORE PEOPLE then at that point you just need to ice him. Batman has probably indirectly killed more people than the Joker has just by letting his villians Live after the 3rd fight
Doesnt fit the narrative so itll never happen
That's the problem, Jason I both right and wrong just like batman
@@dankpingu4056 It’s literally the point of his character. There’s plenty of Batman iterations that don’t fit the narrative like Kevin Smiths run. What narrative do you mean specifically?
@@Beebok_Beebop No I mean of the themes the DC Universe want to convey, like murder is always bad. Jason doesn’t fit that so why would they promote his character in a sense claiming he was right?

I always said Red Hood is like The Punisher of the DC Universe.
The Punisher is A LOT worse than the Red Hood.

This was a great WHAT IF situation had Jason Todd survived the explosion.
And adding it to the DC animated universe as. A "choose your path" addition to the Under the Red Hood storyline.
please elaborate, i just watched two batman movies searching for the first scene XD help mee

"Crime rate has plummeted," and that's how you do it, Batman.
Meanwhile Jason Todd in Arkham Knight 😢😢
Jason over here blaming bruce when almost all of his sidekicks would be dead or murderers without him.
-Dick would've done everything he could to kill the man who killed his family or more likely died trying
-jason would've lived his life stealing or potentially killing which he was doing as a kid
-tim sought out batman and deduced Bruce's identity and basically told him either he trains him or he's doing this anyways
-barbara basically just made a costume and went out on her own and bruce eventually helped train her better
-damian would've been the head of an assassination organization
Same goes with the people from the comics:
Signal: lost his parents to joker, started a gang of vigilantes called the robins, got acknowledged by Alfred and bruce (once he got his memories back) and received proper training
Stephanie brown: father was crime lord, she valued doing the right thing, became spoiler (and robin for a bit) and received proper training
Cassandra Cain: Mute Assassin raised from birth to kill, batman saved her and set her on a better less bloodsoaked path
Bruce gets blamed all the time for training them but if he hadn't they'd be dead because of their own stupid decisions.
Batman has hundreds of billions of dollars and could've easily vetted candidates for parents to each one of his robins.
facts man that's what I'm talking about.
@@Scrote69hes not weak to kill if he kills these super criminals then it ends there and batman ends whats the point of killing them this isnt supposed to be like real life people its a super hero saving gotham if batman starts killing then theres no point of continuing his story
Jason was like my favorite robin and his red hood character is awesome but it’s so sad seeing his character ruined mentally
“No more family.” Jason Todd, before taking guardianship of his baby brother, Damian
I can't believe Jason was the Bay Harbor Butcher
The coolest thing is that in this story Jason Todd resembles Hush, who was also a serial killer
which makes it even better since hush also has a deep hatred for bruce
