Hear hear! Plus, if I'm not mistaken, didn't all drivers sound like this 15 years ago? I switched my 10y old all Titanium driver last year for one with loads of carbon, and to me the dull thud sounded strange, as if everything was a mishit. If not for my hands and ballflight telling me differently, I would have traded it in again :-)
I played the first Hibore Launcher XLS back in the 2000s and it was also a shotgun LOUD. it went pretty far for me when I was a single digit player, but it had a weird crown. Good to see Cleveland is keeping the Launcher XL alive!
I have an old Callaway FTi square-head driver. It's a fairway finder, but impossibly loud. I recall there being a law suit in Germany over it, some folks complained that it actually damaged their hearing.
I love this driver! Alex is not kidding about the sound lol. When you hit it good it makes a very high pitch explosive sound. Some people in my range actually ducked thinking their heard a gun shot
I retired my Nike Vaporfly Pro driver for this Launcher XL2 driver and,,, I LOVE IT!!! Who cares how it sounds,,, or looks for that matter,,, it makes the game fun again!!! (My bag is now filled with Cleveland clubs,,, after retiring my full set of Ping Eye2's for a set of Launcher Xl halo irons,,, Cleveland clubs just work...)
I am staring down some XL Halo Launchers.... Love them. I will find a set in my cash range. Oh yes.... They will be mine.... Hope you are loving them still!!
I like the sound, It sounds like hitting a rock with a thick glass Coke bottle. Then again, I love the sound of my Nike SQ Sumo driver. Nice and honest review. Thanks Alex.
I would’ve liked to see you loft it down to 9° and see what kind of distance you would’ve got there. A great value for the money, if I needed to driver I would definitely give it a nod.
Good review. I would have to hear in person before I judge it. But as to the ball color, I'm a vice baller I game the pro+ shade and lime depending on the day, can't beat the feel and visabality of the balls.
@@paulfarrell7646 Ooh. Mmm. If I ever come near one I'll give it a go. Could be an expensive outing though. Maybe I should stay away from golf shops for a while
I’m sort of in agreement! Even if the performance is awesome, hard for me to purchase the club if I do not like the looks at address and / sound at impact.
I had the previous model, and it sounded the same was a good driver but in the end i got rid of it in part because of the sound personal preference i guess.
If you are hitting that good and finding the fairway over and over with some distance, I would let the sound intimidate my opponents into thinking I was killing it and not worry about it. See ya.
I take it you're not keen on the sound Alex ;) I am buying one of these today and looking forward to it. I use soft balls and have 70 year old hearing so I am sure it will sound great to me :)
Cleveland still hasn't fixed their "sound" problem. Bought one of their drivers a decade ago, sound seriously gave me a headache at the driving range. A real honest to goodness headache. Never ever had that before. Never hit that driver again. I do own a fullset of their hybrids, including their 3+ Hywood. Love all of their hybrids.
Srixon's fairway woods are fantastic. They sound a little more clicky but my buddy who tried them out vs the callaway smoke was getting 5-10 more yards every time. Not huge amounts but it's something.
Not sure about the sound as it appears like the cobra of a number of years ago. Everyone knew someone had a cobra by the sound. However if it performs then possibly live with it. You are a good golfer would like to see how Josh gets on with it or a similar amateur golfer. Would also like to see how it performs against your Aerojet driver.
I find a lot of golfers are a baby bunch. The look, the sound, the shape? I guess I'm pretty lucky, none of that bothers me. Even talking when I'm swinging doesn't brother me. If the club works, I'm happy. I've got an old launcher XL I use in the back yard and it sounds just like that one.
Sound Ehhhh, matt green golf balls are the best because you can't hardly lose them. My brother in-law would lose at least 8 to 10 white or yellow balls in a round of golf because we can't find them, with the matt green balls he loses 2 to 3 balls a round. The green balls ( will )be found unless it's in 6 to 8 inch grass or more, they just show up that well, or in a pond or lake. And yes to a head to head test with the other driver.
Sees reviews mentioning sound. Does video and makes comment on sound. As expected. Glad I am not that vain. I want people 4 fairways over to hear my drive when I finally connect with one and send it like a rocket past 212 yards. Young golfers are interesting. When I got first metal driver it was steel. Sounded like a fence post hitting the ball. Then the titanium heads came out. They had that high "ting" noise and you knew someone had a nice new driver at the range compared to your old fence post. That sound has always struck me as a great sound. Now we have gone to CF faces and they all sound more like fence posts again.
Overdramatised the sound, clearly it's not dull like the carbon faced clubs, in fact it's the other end of the spectrum, but the way you went on its as if a granade went off next to ya lughole. 😂😂
English RUclips golfers, "I hit 100 balls with this driver and they all went 400 yards and all of them landed in the same 5 foot circle. That being said the head cover is a bit crap and the sound is yucky. I am going to throw it in the waste bin."
Cleveland always has had loud drivers but they’re easy to hit I had a hybore driver and still once in an awhile breakout my old Cleveland launcher DST maybe what ? 15 years ago 🙂. Sd doesn’t bother me !!…. Thank you for some luv for Cleveland products 👍🏽⛳️🏌🏽♂️
as far as sound goes i couldn't care less about sound just as long as it works whos care about the sound cheers from Canada
yeah fair enough!
@@HowGoodGolf cheers great review though

I couldn't care less about the sound if I hit it straight.
I have an old Callaway FTi square-head driver. It's a fairway finder, but impossibly loud. I recall there being a law suit in Germany over it, some folks complained that it actually damaged their hearing.
Cleveland golf is popular here in the states. Their wedges are as good as anything.
If the club does the job I can get by the sound , I have a g425 driver.
Agreed... plus, I don't want a muffled sound anyway.
I love the sound and performance. Thanks
I had a Nike sq dymo square driver, so that little bit of noise wouldn’t scare me a bit. 🙉
I love this driver! Alex is not kidding about the sound lol. When you hit it good it makes a very high pitch explosive sound. Some people in my range actually ducked thinking their heard a gun shot

I love the “tingy” sounding drivers. Makes it feel like you’re cranking them even when you don’t lol
I would’ve liked to see you loft it down to 9° and see what kind of distance you would’ve got there. A great value for the money, if I needed to driver I would definitely give it a nod.

I have this driver and love it and the sound
I had the launcher turbo before my fitted driver and I gamed it hard!
I agree, definitely a driver to check out. Of course, I have no issue with what sound a driver makes. 🙂
Tried the Driver a month ago over 2 rounds. Absolutely magnificent. Went further than my Mizuno STz 230 Platinum. Would definitely buy
Interesting! did it have a similar shaft? (I game the STZ 230 too)
@@pbode1 exact same shaft
@@paulfarrell7646 Ooh. Mmm. If I ever come near one I'll give it a go. Could be an expensive outing though. Maybe I should stay away from golf shops for a while
With results like that, the sound's beautiful to me! ♥ ps... I like the high vis green golf balls
I’m sort of in agreement! Even if the performance is awesome, hard for me to purchase the club if I do not like the looks at address and / sound at impact.
Sound is not a factor for me. Distance and consistency are my only concerns.
yup head to head between the both please. As a Mizuno ST Max owner
I had the previous model, and it sounded the same was a good driver but in the end i got rid of it in part because of the sound personal preference i guess.
I love the driver and the sound = distance.
Anybody gone to this from the Cleveland Launcher HB Turbo? (My current driver). If so, what differences did you notice (sound not important).
If you are hitting that good and finding the fairway over and over with some distance, I would let the sound intimidate my opponents into thinking I was killing it and not worry about it. See ya.
Hahaha this is a great shout! Hahaha
I take it you're not keen on the sound Alex ;) I am buying one of these today and looking forward to it. I use soft balls and have 70 year old hearing so I am sure it will sound great to me :)
The sound to me is irrelevant as long as the results are there. I used to game the Callaway FTi. And the Nike Sumo Sq. You should hit them
I like the look of these. They remind me of a Sim/Sim 2.
Looks and sound are very important to me. There are other drivers that are as stable, and as fast, but sound better.
Yes do a head to head.. add the Cobra ltdx / Aerojet
This has been overlooked by almost every You Tube golfer. We will be buying these for $200 in a few months
Performance is what matters. Not sound. I would buy it.
Would like to see a run off between this driver and the Mizuno. As for the sound, really can't tell from the video.... Thanks...
This has been requested a lot so will definitely be comparing them!$
Maybe can switch to mid-launch shaft for the most consistent spin rates
Sound has never put me off, thuds or high pitch and any thing in between.

I’ve heard this before about their sound!
Awesome direction (flight)
Sound is the stupidest criteria for buying a driver. Does it perform.
Straight, good price, numbers correct what more do we need?
I want see the head to head… love Cleveland and Srixon
Srixon's fairway woods are fantastic. They sound a little more clicky but my buddy who tried them out vs the callaway smoke was getting 5-10 more yards every time. Not huge amounts but it's something.
Sound wouldn't bother me if I was getting those results and "fight"😊

Bridgestone matte green golf balls, I don’t leave home without them😊
Nice!!!
Let's see a comparison against other drivers like the Mizuno and Ping of this year.
Good point!
Sound wouldn't worry me at all. The final results are what matter..
Have you tried the new TaylorMade Burner mini driver yet Alex?
I haven’t! I need to see this club!
How about putting the make and name of the driver in your written description
Wait how many channels you got mate? Wasn't aware of this one!
3 🙌🏼📲
Sound is a big thing for me. Too high pitched or if it sounds like im kicking a bucket down the street and im gone
If it can beat my sim2 max I’d use it simples 🎉
Face seems big, would give me confidence! its like a huge superburger!
Sound probably doesn't matter to most older golfer's because we are mostly half deaf lol
lets see the h2h Alex
Love this 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Vice golf ball?
yeah

Do it.
The golfer obsession with driver contact sound is absolutely ridiculous. It's a titanium driver, if ypu want dead sound, hit carbon.b
Elongated is the word...
Damn this guy talks a lot.

One thing I would question mate is......about them pants you are wearing....

OMG another whiner about the sound of a driver!!!! It’s an out door sport!!! Dude you need to take up chess….😂
😂😂😂😂
