The PGA TOUR heads to the iconic Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass for the 2022 edition of THE PLAYERS Championship. The top 30 golfers in the FedExCup standings, including 2017 FedExCup winner and defending champion Justin Thomas, will tee it up this week. World No.1 Jon Rahm, Rory McIlroy, Viktor Hovland and Collin Morikawa are just some of the biggest names in golf battling it out for the $3.6 million winner’s share. Hovland remains one of the hottest players in the game, leading at the halfway point of the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard. Hideki Matsuyama is also in impressive form after winning the Sony Open this year. In 2020, Matsuyama tied the TPC Sawgrass scoring record (a 9-under 63) in the opening round and following the cancellation of that tournament, he'll be aiming to go all the way for the first time this year. The reigning FedExCup Champion, Patrick Cantlay, is looking to continue his excellent start to the season - he’s finished outside the top 10 in just one of his five starts so far.

There is nothing better then the awkward handshakes / high fives from golfers after great shots. Unmatched.
Nothing is better than the friendship between the competitors.
I'm a golfer but these guys are nerds with the high fives
Golfer puts a tiny little golf ball in the hole when attempting a shot from 200 yards out.
Same golfer totally misses his caddy's hand when attempting a high five from point blank range.
@@stanyeeast3508 great point! It’s because their hands don’t have 🧲’s.
@@Daniel-ex6kp They’re friends because they’re not competitors. Sweet comment Danielle.
That Vijay singh shot deserved to be higher....who in the world would even think of using a putter like that? Incredible
IMO its minimum top 10 if not top 5
Agree! That was a Top 5 shot for my money.
goated shot
I think towards the end they went with results winning tourneys.
The putter one waaaaas crazy but obviously he's done it before. Wow
Calvin Pete's victory in the '85 TPC was my introduction to the fun of watching big-time golf on TV. I was sixteen, and it was such a thrill to follow his progress all the way around. He kept smiling at the camera and saying, "Hellooooooo FORT MYERS."
This is more the style of content we want to be seeing!
Pgatour is finally learning. Good for them!
@@Bobba8590 I feel like we’ve said that for a long time
@@eruptrl8893 yeah we have 😄
Hello what's the best way to get started with trade cos I've been making my personal research for a while now
@@asmauhalidu1167 I start with $2,500 at February 21 and I'm almost at $21k now! all thanks to Sonia
There's a ton of luck involved in this stuff, but a lot of people don't understand how talented these dudes are to even put the ball in a position for the luck to actually matter
The more I practice, the luckier I get!
I think what you are trying to say is these guys shots are so close to perfect that they actually go in occasionally.
@@larrymanning5925 know what I mean 🤣🤣
golf is a game of precision with the only luck being good weather or the courses themselves
In Sweden we have a saying, ”tur är den skickliges belöning” which translates to luck is the reward of the skilled.
Wait, miguel angel jimenez was actually young at some point. I though he was just born at 50 with cigar in his mouth and a club in his hands. True legend. He is truly "the most interesting man in the world".
Look more like Mario back then.
@@Widderic Strange that you would make that particular observation.
@@YogSoth 😂
He looks like Pablo Escobars little brother
#8 haha he got that close and missed the birdie what a chump hahaha I love everytime he chokes
i really appreciate that those aren't just all hole in ones. I think we can all appropriate a hole in one, but seeing these seemingly impossible shots with tough conditions being pulled of is something else.
Love those late 90s/early 2000s highlights. So many pure swings.
Define that
Freddie holing out in par after hitting the water was just jaw-dropping. I'll always remember that shot
i was watching that day! i jumped off the couch, yelling to no one, wondering if my eyes were tricking me. still to this day my favorite golf shot of all time
id never seen that craig perks finish before. jaw literally dropped. Honestly, most impressive shot is the phil mickelson gap in the trees. The confidence to hit that is insane.

@@peteranderson1620 I started from the bottom... now I'm here!
Freddy’s swing at 12:53… pure as can be…
I was thinking the exact same thing...perfection
Literally just said that out loud right before I saw this comment
Effortless
The backswing is awesome.
Man, hard to comment. Bring back the good old days? Today's pga golf is surreal! But the grit and grind of the 70's, 80's, and 90's, was always so satisfying. Great memories.
No one will ever get people more excited and into golf like Tiger did
Best ever in my opinion, Tiger that is!!
Recently sure, but Nicklaus inspired the golden era and Tiger himself.
There's a case to be made that Ballesteros, Travino, Daly etc inspired more than Tiger did.
Indeed, a case is made. Not a good one, but it’s made
@@PalladinPoker not sure Daly inspired many, agreed on the others you mentioned. Pretty sure if you ask most of the best & younger players of today, they usually credit Tiger Woods the most & credit Jack Nicklaus as one of the best ever also!! No need to argue who’s the best, they are both significant icons of the game forever & ever!!!
@@PalladinPoker If that were true, The fields would show that for Player, Seve, Trevino etc as far as inspiration goes. Not including Palmer for obvious reasons.
Man, the 90's and 00's were an exciting time for golf.
You should have seen the 70s and 80s best players ever
Veejay Singh's putt with the toe of the putter 🔥
1:33 Shooter McGavin making us proud with those shots! 🏌️♂️⛳️
Their minds, hearts and muscles all working together to do what you imagine in a perfect shot. Awesome stuff.
Lots of incredible shots in this video but the most impressive thing I saw was how Fred Couples swings his clubs like he's stuck in molasses abs still manages to get tour distance. It's absolutely incredible. I have a slow swing but Freddie is on another level.
I'm surprised there were quite a few players left off this list of greatest golf shots... Chi Chi Rodriguez, Greg Norman, Jack Nicklaus, and numerous others who had magic at different times on the courses.
Love watching Freddie getting excited 7:42
6:53 that Ryan Moore shot that went directly in the cup with the flag in it was absolutely nuts
Kaymer’s Par saving putt on 17 should be right up there near the top. Under the circumstances just insane
DJ, if you had Paulina at home you'd strut like that too. You know you're a fan when you've seen most of these shots when they happened.
Absolutely beautiful golf shots.
I wish I had ⅒ of the talent.
👍👍
Fred Couples hole in one to save par is in my opinion the best shot ever at this tournament.
love watching this!
Watching incredible shots never gets old!
1:46 I remember watching in 2011 and Toms winning easily in a playoff after Choi went in the water……forgot he sank that putt and had a divot to hit out of just to tie. Quite the plays under pressure
It's so nice because this is the drive your looking for from a optimization standpoint so pured
That Fred Couples slam dunk after going in the water is so savage 😂
Couples hole in 3 will ALWAYS be my number 1.
Very cool to see the "older" clips.
Freddie with the best par ever made at 17
Number 23 is wild, Azinger’s club face looks closed through his whole backswing 👀 like he never turns it to open it up at all… that’s crazy
Great to see Calvin Peete get some love.
Fred couples iron swing is just a thing of beauty
Ole Freddy Couples, sweetest stroke in the game!
Well, apart from Els...
Great video, until the ad at the end (Koepka saying "thanks for watching the PGA tour")... what a dope...
Nothing will ever top fred couples swing, greatest ever
Charles Barkley
The best looking, easy looking, swing ever. If not for back troubles, Freddie would have made a whole lot more moola.
3:43 People forget how good of a run McCumber had late 80’s-early 90’s. Don’t know what happened to him? Age? Tiger Woods maybe?
13 was just magical
That #2 Tiger Woods put was stunning. It’s probably his best put in a championship, and to be honest, the best put in his life.
Fred Couples had/has the most effortlessly smooth swing. Beautiful to watch
That was very enjoyable to watch, good programming 👍
Craig Perks…..what a finish. The definition of one-hit wonder, unfortunately
Great Video- Thanks.
Some great shots. #3, #2 and #1 definitely correct in that order... Good to see Kiwi Craig Perks at #3 💪🏽
Woods should have those 3... this vid is a joke
It's amazing, the blogger is really creative and worth watching
oh the irony of Koepka as the outro 🤣
Phil mickelsons shot should’ve been ranked higher, that was insane!
What a great compilation ✝️🇺🇸😀
That Will Wilcox shot will give you some emotions 🎉
Can't believe I watched 40 greatest shots of all time at the TPC...and Tiger had only 1 shown.
He had at least 2
Totally agree he made some shots nobody can believe
I was there for # 1...Jerry Pate's career moment...within months he was injured and never really came back
BTW the guys he threw into the drink were architect Pete Dye and tour commissioner Deane Beman
#3 was unreal.. chip in, massive putt, chip in. Wild
Anyone's else old enough to remember when David Duval did that stuff every day? For about a year?
Absolutely... in the late 90's he was nearly unbeatable. I remember him falling off a cliff not long after and lamenting that he could not make a comeback. Years later he almost wins the US Open. A great golfer to be sure.
It never fails, some goofball just screams "get in the hole!!" As soon as a ball touches a green 😂😂
Yeah like the ball is going to listen lol.
Go watch Tiger play live.... people say that on his drives lmao.
I love it 🤣
Tech improvement over the last 20 years has made such a massive improvement for golf viewing it is almost insane.
Freddie knew he made the all American par as soon as he hit it. He was cracking a grin because he knew he hit a honey.
WITHOUT A DOUBT, AMAZING
Fred Couples has the purest golf swing of all time!
Change my mind....
Amazing shots...awe inspiring really.
Just an observation, but does it seem like the old camera operators were able to track the ball better? The new stuff looks better in HD (of course), but the tracking shots don't seem as tight anymore.
The Hal Sutton love is strong and deserved.
I can ' t imitate me with a series of Amazing shots
Seriously that's what you choose as #1? With all those hole-outs, great escapes, and iconic moments you chose that as #1?
Never get tired of Freddy’s hole in three
There is nothing better than Freddie's Hole in 3 par at 17.
Every hole in one completely blows my mind.
I don't agree with the order of the shots but there were a number of really great ones in the video.
I'll be playing at the players one day
💯
Thats what i think on the 1st tee of every competition, then, 3 holes in, im reminded why im still an amateur 😂😂😂🤷🏻♂️
That awkward moment when your score card reads 67... then realise you're only on the 8th...... 🤪🤪
@@Karma-qt4ji 💯
I want Hal Suttons caddy. He's freaking loving it
My man Hal Sutton crushing it around Sawgrass.
Fred Couples rhythm is something special
Rickie Fowler is easily in the top 3… the late Sunday charge up the back nine and then sticking it close 3 times to a tucked pin on 17, twice in extra holes… and winning!
Some of the best golf I’ve ever seen…
I love how one of the first people to congratulate them is their opponent
When people got thrown into lakes and didn't have to worry about ruining their stupid cell phone.
I love how you always get that preemptive shout from one person that realises it's a good shot before everyone else 🤣
Now I know where the NLU podcast got some of their intro sound bites from 👍🏻
The best part of the live coverage when Pate & Co were in the water was the gator sizing them up for dinner.
17 was ridiculous
Where is Tigers put on 16 at the Masters. That was one of the greatest shots ever.
These are just shots at the players championship
Long LIV Golf!!!!
Freddie and 17 have a history
shots 35 camera work is crazy
That Freddie Couples par is unmatched..
I miss watching Dustin hit wedges. He only went with three wedges, and essentially only hit the gap and lob inside 120 yards, so he needed to have a bunch of speeds and great feel… and he certainly did.
Phil’s was incredible 😭
I think #15 should have been much higher it was nuts 🤯
Good shots, good shots, great shots!, HOLE IN MFIN ONE AFTER ONE AFTER ONE WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome. ..😎
Michael Jordan's bunker shot deserves honorable mention
Whole lotta fred couples here
And hal sutton
The Tracers make Golf soooooooooooo much better!
bro, what about kaymers putt on 17?
C’est superb je joue au golf a 4 ans
Great memoryies
7:58 I like how you put this one at 17. "magic at 17"
that ending in the water was so "Anchorman", different times, when grown ups didn't offend too easily!
Whos here after rising impact 😂
Im not a golf expert, but Tigers drop not being number #1 is just wild!
