How does financial troubles tie into attempting to murder patients of another doctor?
Watch the video
@@Matt-fl8uyI’ve watched it twice and I still don’t know what that’s got to
I had a hard time understanding this as well. It's not like he would be benefitting financially from the deaths (or near-deaths) of these patients directly. It seems more like the first incident was actually an accident, due to negligence or incompetence on his part. He was then basically suspended from that one facility, which means he'd be making less money. So, to "prove" it wasn't his fault he started tainting the IV bags so *other* doctors would have the same thing happen. I guess he either planned to make it look like "it could happen to anyone" or he planned to create a scapegoat in the tainted bags either blaming the manufacturer or some "unknown" suspect doing it. Either way I guess the goal was to reinstate him so he could get more work and keep making money. Convoluted and deranged but that's what it seems happened.
He tried to show that "emergency situations happen to other doctors," thereby taking the focus away from his own bad patient outcomes.
They were getting rid of him and he had mounting debt. He was desperate, and tried to frame / set-up other anesthesiologists to make them look incompetent like him (Ortiz).
@@rolandm9750Aaaahhhh ok ok. Thanks for the clear explanation. Now I get it 👍
Only an evil soul would do something like that
Lol 😂 not funny 🎉@@comedybytescast
How.could killing patients possibly help his financial troubles ?…this is very confusing .
He needs to be accountable and his license should be taken away forever and needs to go to jail for attempted murder period!!!!! For LIFE
Not attempted, he killed someone. Dr. Melanie Kaspar died from one of his tainted IV bags.
This why I’m terrified of going to the doctor or hospitals 😫
Me too! Doctors are getting dangerous out of control!!!
His defense should have come up with something better than that.
He could have sold all of that stuff and down grade. He didn’t have to leave above his means.
Dr. Ortiz, spending millions of dollars, and then owing millions, needs to see a good psychiatrist.
He needs to spend the rest of his life behind bars.
He needs to spend the rest of his life behind bars
Ortiz, owed more than what he could afford, the Bank interest alone took him down... Good work ms Karma and whoever put the cameras...
Did he want to sue the IV bag company by saying their products are killing his patients and so ruining his business or what? Why someone who is loosing money would do such thing ?
losing has one o
@@jc4388Why so petty?🥱🥱🥱
He was being reviewed for a patient going into cardiac arrest in his own clinic for the second time. He was likely going to lose his licence and not be able to practice anymore. He was desperate to not lose his job. So he poisoned these people at other doctors' clinic he worked at, to make the other clinics look bad too.
That's how it all ties together. But in my opinion he's just a sociopath that wants to murder people.
@@jc4388your desperation for attention is sad
@@davidbanner9344. Try not to take corrective criticism, as petty, because contrary to belief, ignorance is not bliss. I don’t mind being corrected by others as long as it is done in a respectful manner. Would you rather continue to misspell words and appear ignorant in the eyes of others, or would you rather be thankful that someone thought enough of you to lend a little help? Please remember, that there are some people who would revel in knowing that you misspelled words, because they themselves are lacking in knowledge as well. I am only telling you this, from years of experience.
Criminal.
A criminal with a degree. Demonic
When you make medicine into a business, you get scammers like this.
why would the insurance company still insure this guy? He should have been cancelled and not able to work
How do you not know how insurance work? Professional insurance are usually paid 1 year or 6 months In advance. You think they are going to cover him if they know?
Evil Ortiz got away with all the crimes because most people don't reported his wrong practice to the College of Physicians and sued litigate him...
Every one of those hospitals need to be investigated. There were things they knew and should have reported
He was super outta control
Why are they even bothering to give them motive They don’t need a motive for a conviction.
Motive determines length of sentence.
Exactly!
Criminal! Prison or worse
Evil BS
Both gross and net income dropped about 50%. Defense showed it was different?!?
All he had to do was downsize and live within his means, but no; he wanted to show off even though he knew he could no longer afford it. Hope they throw him in jail and seize his assets. It’s a shame what he did to his patients.
Personally I don’t think the prosecution will gain anything by trying to present a motive. Nothing could be seen as a rational motive for what he’s accused of.
I disagree 100%. A suggested motive is always helpful to a juror to get past the ‘why’ factor and get on with the case.
Motive is almost always helpful for the prosecution because it helps build a persuasive narrative.
@@blackosprey2219 Yeah for normal cases I’d agree. I just don’t see any sort of motive that would make this seem rational. I guess it’s worthwhile to try to argue he wanted revenge against a hospital pursuing disciplinary action, or that he wanted to show other anesthesiologists also have complications, but I think if I were the prosecutor I’d mention those but my main focus would be on proving the elements of the alleged crimes.
@@JeffinTD Which is probably what they will do. The media will yammer about Motive because that's the question that every spectator latches onto.
CREEP
Serial killer
Dr caught out doing the Lucy Letby things.
DEAR GOD ! How on eart can these be ? ? ? 😔😔😔
Whether the Dr. Ortiz is found guilty or innocent, the fact remains that Dr Ortiz's career and reputation are already ruined😮.
THIS IS SICK !!!!!!!
Our "best and brightest"
So, ok...I am trying to get my head around this....the Bad Doc is in financial deep doo doo, so he starts messing with IV bags in order to kill people? What did he think would happen once he was found out...
That is crazy. He is trying to cause a cardiac event to show that it happens to others and or to show how valuable he is by saving people he just tried to kill.
They just hate people
Can’t quite figure out how painting IV bags would save an anesthesiologist’s practice.
When the story originally broke, they talked about the fact that he had just been reprimanded on his job or had received a poor performance evaluation. I feel like he believed he would look better against his coworkers if they had patients who died. A normal person would never think that, but he’s obviously a sociopath.
He was clearly living beyond his means.
Wait , so the doctor that died was stealing IV bags from the hospital?
A lot of medical personnel steal hospital supplies it's ridiculous. For what they get paid they could buy it.
His mind became tainted by money and his affluent lifestyle and he was not willing to live like us common folk.
Well, now he won’t have financial problems any more!😮
So if you are a Doctor, it’s called “privileges “ but if you are a nurse or anything else you are just an employee?
He wasn’t an employee of the clinic, he was a self employed doctor with privileges to work at various clinics.
Guys a doctor and makes bank. He was gready like most doctors
Dang It
You can tell that this man was miserable. What was the motive to even tamper with IV bags for? Is that how miserable his life was? This just goes to show you that money cannot buy you happiness. He had a house worth over $1 million along with expensive cars, and none of that can change, the outcome of the reality....
This was a man that had mental issues because of personal problems that are probably linked to dating. According to another report that I read about him with a little more telling about his personal life and how abusive he was to his ex-girlfriends. I am even suspecting that he was a very vain doctor and he knew that if he wanted a certain type of woman, he knew that he was at her mercy for acceptance of his self-worth. Many of the victims were women as a matter fact, or if not all of them were if I'm not mistaken.
A lot of personal turmoil in his mind and the red flags that were said before should have immediately put him out of his duties.
Very well stated and beautiful too, best wishes to you and yours dear.
DO NO HARM: This clinical approach links to the Hippocratic Oath which includes the promise "to abstain from doing harm". The Oath reminds clinicians to first consider the possible harm that any intervention might do.
He preferred wanton disregard, depraved indifference.
Didn't Earn It
"his income didn't see such a dramatic drop", are you serious? his income was was nearly cut in halve. you can't be serious, you're math isn't mathing.
Keep yourself healthy !!!!! No fn doctors in 30+ years , know your body!
Another who is foreign to American interest foreign to American culture foreign to American way of life on a murderous campaign.
You have no idea if he's 3rd generation American or born overseas. You're going solely on appearance and name. You're basically trying to use his unrelated malfeasance to justify your racism.
How’s killing people going to help him save/make money? 🤔

WTH…😶😶😶
Motive means nothing. Thats a way to sympathize or give an excuse to the offender. Some people are just hateful and Evil. Thats IT! Could care less about the 'why'.
That motive doesn’t make sense , I don’t think he did that
