I am waiting for my Nokta Legend to arrive... Always wanted to start this as a hobby and been watching videos about it lately and this video has been the most informative I've come across. Thanks!!
Yes, already went out a few times detecting, found some coins in my first go. Hoping to find some Roman or Greek coins here in Bulgaria someday.@@andyamysarizonaadventures5450
Ed Can you do a video aimed at beginners explaining how to set the detector to reject bottle caps and any other junk and comparing the Nokta range. I heard there is a new one out soon called the Findx Pro which is cheaper then the Score, Score2 and Legend. A lot of people are saying the Legend is the best but it is not for beginners.
Great vid! Loved the mention of rocks - I too share that excitement when a rock I've not seen in a while (or ever) makes an appearance. That surprise gold chain was so good, nice one. 😂
Great video Ed! Your enthusiasm is infectious. Re. gridding: have you seen Metal Detecting NYC’s zigzag/spiral search method? Definitely worth a watch. I see Merrill is enjoying some of your gear. Onya cobber!
You're too kind mate! Yeah it is interesting, we actually have a blog on this topic too: www.detect-ed.com/blogs/treasure-tactix/beach-detecting-techniques Happy Hunting mate, thanks for all your support!
Hello Ed, I think you're videos are great very easy to follow period i have 2 questions for you can you omit pull tabs on the legend? And what sandscoop are you using ? Thanks can't wait for more of your videos you're you're
Best wishes with the Legend. I use the Equinox 800 and I'm pretty happy with it. Best wishes from a wet and windy Lancashire, England. Good luck in 2024.
Fantastic Ed! Thank you for the reply to my message.. Very informative Video 😃 I thought I saw that sovereign ring a few seconds into the video!! 😂 Noice..
Hey Ed wondering if you have a suggestion for the legend detecting and freshwater beaches looking for settings at will still get the gold and jewelry plus coins but eliminate all the trash. Could you let me know what you think good settings would be to do that
Hey Ed , I've got a couple questions regarding small golden color jewelry. I have found a mans ring stamped 10k that ring my legend at 34/35. A woman's ring , not stamped, that rings at 26. and 3 other pieces, a necklace bracelet and earring that are stamped 14k but ring the legend at 11. can you tell me why the differences if they are all gold? are some just plated? I get no Ferro check indication on any of the pieces. Thanks Mark
I have five detectors and getting this one, is it a D coil for pinpointing? Okay, it’s just like my AT pro, d coil, oh man great teaching video as well for new individuals, I never use a coil cover
Can u help me with setting up the right things to notch out aluminum cans n bottle caps it's drivingbme crazy I spent so much money on this and I'm not please it does the same thing my f2 fisher does actually I feel like the fisher is better
Thank you for the video. I'm in FL sugar white pure quartz sand and I get such chatter....it has become so bad I have no idea if there is a target. I suspect its the salt. Any suggestions?
If you were to use a pulse inductor you might have to deal with some iron trash but not only will you run stable and quiet you can hit targets in excess of 12 inches and get a clear signal at that depth. Also you will hit thin gold that VLF machines just can't see more then basically surface finds. You could hit a BB at 8 - 10 inches and think that can't possibly be the target there must be something else but no it will hit the tiniest of targets like earring studs. And I use a 950 coil or 9 1/2" you can get a 12" coil and dig ridiculous depths. There will probably be trolls or haters knocking what I said but I would almost bet not a one of them has ever used pulse induction but they think they're qualified to tell me that their VLF can run up against a pulse induction machine. I do hunt a lot with VLF's in certain special sites so I can cherry pick mid level VDI's skipping the clad for more time hunting for rings. While yes my coin count drops and gold is up I noticed very few chains and earrings where the pulse inductor would find earrings in about every spot I hit. So if you are patient and don't mind digging 15 nails over the day you will dig gold that you're not finding now with that salt magnetic sand issue. But while you let this sit in your mind for a while go into your discrimination and knock out the first few non ferrous numbers. Your machine is properly cancelling out ferrous or iron signals but that chatter is that salt is conductive so the detector thinks it's seeing endless little non ferrous targets. If you disc out the first few non ferrous numbers see if she doesn't quiet down for you? While yes some small gold can hit in those numbers it doesn't matter if it's lost masked in the salt anyway nothing can make you hit those low numbers. If your detector has a setting to advance the tracking don't go up a number, retard the tracking down 1 number and keep 5he recovery speed as low as it will go and stay stable most people think faster is better. Under water you can't sweep faster anyway so it does no good running a fast recovery. DD coils inherently record quicker between trash anyway. Remember it's just a test to see if we can get you running stabilize enough to hunt yet still hit a target.. Which machine are you running because not all machines can really hunt salt beaches in the water very effectively. And I almost forgot probably the most important salt water tip and that is to turn the sensitivity down because more power is not better in the salt water and/or the black sand mix. Black sand does not give a ferrous signal black sand is almost also slightly magnetic so it nulls the audio tone in the lower non ferrous signal range. At this point what does it hurt to try right? You might just quiet her down enough to start digging targets. Good luck and happy hunting
Please don't share your phobias, every time I read these 'warning' and 'safety' messages I get terrible anxiety and collect yet another trigger of a vivid description of something not remotely likely that could happen but won't.
Did you hand that gold sovereign ring you found into police. It's considered "stealing by finding" to keep a ring of that value. Same for any valuable gold jewellery.
Great video! Thanks for taking the time to create it. Looking up Nokta Legend prices now. 😁
Great tips👍 Thanks buddy.

enjoyed the video and seeing the finds well done
Very impressive video. Good job
I found part of a gold chain last night that sounded like a bottle cap.
i think i'm going to get a nokta legend then, thanks!

Great vid Ed, looking forward to the next lesson 😀
It's actually enjoying watching your video. Most detect video's are annoying 😂
Glad you think so! Thanks for your comment :)
Great vid Ed. Some good tips and well edited.
Nice hunt Ed.

Glad I'm not the only rock enthusiast, we know they rock! 😝

You’ve got the detectorists eye now, it’s hard to unsee shiny things! 🤩 Appreciate your feedback 👍
Always been told I was hawk eyes 😂😂😂
Awesome work mate 👌👌👌
Thanks mate, looking forward to seeing you soon! 😎
I learned today, thank you.

Can you make a video for the settings in beach mode? Especially in water
Do these setting work for snorkeling?❤
Do you have a field program? What would you recommend for more relics?

Ill be heading across the united states in 2 days. I could use a new shaft. Mine is too short. XP Deus 2 lower shaft.
I leave bottle caps so I know if anyone else has been by 😊
So was it real gold 🤷🏿♂️
Please don't kick stuff with no shoes on, your making my nerves bad thinking about the amount of needles users could have left 😵

Please don't walk on the beach 😂
Yeah nothin but rubbish there Ed. Think I might have said that before.

Finders keepers
Yea, good idea…give all your valuables away and keep the nails and caps. Jacka
Please Karen, don't ruin this space. The beach is a fun and Karen free place
