- Where is the best place to retire in the world? Montenegro was ranked best place to retire by Forbes for the Jetset 2023! We love Montenegro and we bought a home in Kotor in 2016, we recently sold it and bought another on Kotor Bay Montenegro to replace it. See our last video where we show you the home we bought and sold in Montenegro. We slow travel the world, often called roaming retirement or roving retirement. We retired early and use Montenegro as our non-Schengen home base. We sold our home in Kotor and bought a new home on Kotor Bay. Montenegro is an affordable alternative to high prices in the US. The average US Retiree on Social Security receives $1,800 a month, and a couple on Social Security averages over $2,800 a month. A US Expat living on Social Security can expect a great standard of living in many countries such as Turkey, Serbia, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Hungary, Poland, Spain, Italy, Philippines, Thailand, Ecuador, and many others when compared to the living costs in the US. If you dreamed of traveling as a nomad in retirement this video is for you.
Here is the information and sign up link for the summit mentioned in the video.

Do you want to live abroad as an Expat? Are you looking for affordable and viable options? We are exploring the world to see what it's like to live in a country, and also discover if Residency is an option.
We began our retirement in March of 2020 with the intent to travel the world, spending 1-3 months in a country or location. We want to see what it's like to live there and not simply visit, and we want to share these experiences and the costs with whoever wishes to follow along.

Great video guys. The challenge I have with Montenegro is if you become a resident, you are required to stay there for 11 month of the year (at least that is my understanding). That would difficult to do if you like to travel. Also I am not sure about taxes in Montenegro when it comes to retire there from USA. Thanks again. Love following your amazing adventure.
We are going to Spain, Germany and Portugal later in the year.
Yes we understand about the minimum requirement on time for residency sucks. It’s the reason we haven’t applied for it. You can actually get two months a year out, you have to give a reason for the additional month.
I spent the Fall 2021 in Petrovac, a charming small town near the sea. The Yugoslav army cut a very scenic road into the rocky cliffs along the sea that is now a hiking path. A great place to meet others and get exercise. I was told by a local the path goes all the way to Budva from Petrovac, about 10 miles.
I’ve see portions, I’ll make it a goal to see the entire trek.
how do you arrange to travel with your dogs affordably?
Congratulations WnJ on your Monte Negro new home purchase and your prediction well ahead as the #1 place. You guys do such a wonderful job and bring a world of information to the viewers and those aspiring to settle there. Great Job and we wish you guys well and a Happy July 4th.
Thanks, we knew the place was special, and in many ways still unknown to many. 😁
You called it! Well done 😊
Thank you! 😁
WOW , congratulations to Crna Gora (Montenegro). Now Real estate prices will skyrocket
Thanks, unfortunately the prices have already taken off.
Any skiing in the mountains? Affordable commuter flights to Italy for skiing???
🤔
Yes, Kolasin Montenegro and Zabljak Montenegro both offer skiing.
Hi Guys great video. Which area would you recommend Hubble and I base ourselves for one month in Montenegro? We like to be in walking distance to amenities, eateries, bars, shops etc and have public transport access to sightseeing (if possible). We also like to immerse ourselves as much as possible in the local feel of an area. We’re not hostel/backbacker type of accommodation or high end. Something reasonable, clean and comfortable with a one bedroom unit with kitchen and laundry facilities if you have any recommendations that would be awesome 😊
When are you planning to come? The time of year makes a difference. Do you plan to spend time in the water / beach, or hiking?
@@WarrenJulieTravel probably shoulder seasons maybe September. We’re not ones for sun baking on the beach (coming from Australia we can do that at home 😂) but don’t mind a water location for nice walks. We’re not experienced hikers but do enjoy a hike to a nice waterfalls or lookout. We like somewhere that has a bit of a vibe but enjoy getting a feel for how the locals live.
We will be travelling for 6 months of the year (moving on every month to a new location) once we head off so we can change up the months we visit 😊
@@caroljordan4316 September is a good time to visit. I have a couple friends with places in the old fortress of Kotor that would be a great location to meet your desires.

They are building a new road from Tivat to Budva. Should be finished in 2-3 years.
That’s great news, I haven’t heard about this or noticed construction yet.
hey How come Turkey is not in your list? 2800$ you will live like a king in Bodrum
come by i have a new house there i will host you
You need to watch the video, it’s not our list. This is done by Forbes.
I love Bodrum. We will likely buy in Kumbahce at some point, maybe Montenegro too.
@@BALDANDRETIRED thanks for the offer, we may eventually get your way. We do have plans in Istanbul this winter.
Anything that gets a #1 is ruined as the masses converge
It's a nice vacation place but not for living. One of the easiest way to tell if it's a great wonderful place to live at is seeing sexy people swimming in the sea and sunbathing on the beach. That's how to train your eyes in finding where best to retire. If you can have that within 100 steps, you found IT. Sunsets are bonus...but rarely available and if available, unaffordable.
This is quite an interesting read. 😃I’m curious to see where in Montenegro you have visited.
Now tell me what a "Jet Setter" is!
Financial stable self sufficient travelers is my interpretation.
