Good video TOMAHAWK813. One thing I have learned owning my BMW is that all fasteners holding parts onto the car have some way to come out or release. Those little clips you broke off and bent your fender brute-forcing them out, release by tapping the center in with a small screwdriver. If done carefully, you can recover the center pin and reuse the clips. Hope this helps you and others with future repairs.
nice vid, but after taking it all out I would have gone and replaced the washer pump, they are really not that expensive, unless you buy them from a dealer. I am not sure what that weld stuff is, but in future if you needed to replace your pump it looks like you will have a hard job to get that stuff off.
Haha no I didn’t, I just kind of pushed them in and made it work. The pump is actually pretty cheap as well so might as well just replace it rather then ghetto rigging it like I did lol
Hi Bor, it is probably the rubber O ring on the pump that is leaking so it is not a smart idea to glue up the pump cos you might have a hard time to change the pump out next time. BMW washer tank position really hard to reach unlike japan made.
I expect my problem is the same and my pump works fine. I expect the pump secures in with an O-ring. I'll find the size of ring before tackling the inner fender skirt removal and that should be a permanent fix til another is needed (10 years). Why do a job half-fast... Less than $5. Yeh O-ring $2 Tops.
GREAT VIDEO TOMAHAWK SUBBED AND THUMBS UP! AND YO I FIXED MY E90 YOU WERE RIGHT WATER PUMP AND THERM WENT TOAST. DID IT MYSELF AND SMOOTH SAILING NOW DROVE AN HR ON HIGHWAY UP AND DOWN TOWN AT 60-70 MPH NO OVERHEATING, THANKS 4 ALL THE HELP!
Should have removed the pump and put some sealant on it and put the pump back in. When you just goop sealant on the outside it usually doesn’t last very long.
And also cleaned-out the gunk that was blocking the filter (the reason why it was leaking in the first place...) before jamming all that epoxy around it: now you have a blocked filter sealed inside a bunch of epoxy resin, and your washers still won't work so you'll be buying a new reservoir, pump, and the hoses that run to your windshield 🙄 if you ever want a clear view of the road ahead, which is usually a good thing to have, huh?

@@TOMAHAWK813 those small plastic things... they have a small pin, you push it with something thin in the middle and you don't ruin a perfect wing on the car... if you search a bit on the net you will surely find how to remove those plastic things... anyway it was something very simple
Sorry man, I don't wanna be unkind BUT... -If you can't figure-out how to release those plastic clips by pushing-in the clearly visible pin thro the centre (they're 100% re-usable if you can find the pins inside the fender panel afterwards...) then you should probably not be working on a BMW (or any other premium car) at all except for washing and waxing it? And that "repair" with the epoxy was just horrible -how about just gently prying the pump upwards out of the reservoir once it's clear of the fender, cleaning all the gunk out of the filter (the reason why it was leaking in the first place: the pump runs at relatively high pressure, so if the filter gets clogged then washer-fluid forces its way past the rubber collar that holds the filter in place, and this is what causes/creates the leak in the first place. Reassembling everything with PTFE plumber's tape for a waterproof seal (and then filling the reservoir and running the washers to check there's a good seal before reassembling the fender/arch...) will stop the leaks without replacing anything, or jamming a bunch of nasty epoxy around it, and costs around 45 minutes of your time and like 5 cents-worth of PTFE tape... -I'm not claiming to be perfect myself: I did this same repair myself over the weekend on my F11 530D and DIDN'T check for leaks before I reassembled everything, and all the fluid drained straight out again, so I've done this twice now in 48 hours and those plastic clips still grip just as tight now as before I started...
Wow, you have no business working on vehicles, I hope none does what you did here, also that pump and the harness going to it is going to it is just going to rust and fail now that you've trapped the leak into the pump housing
Wow, that’s very interesting for you to say with your anonymous account. Can you show me your video? It’s an obvious quick fix no need for the dramatics LOL
Yeah I have the same problem with my E90
You've come to the right place grasshopper.
Heck yes!

thx bro
Thanks man. Sorry about the late reply. I tried doing that but they seemed stuck when I tried to push in. Not sure what was up with that.
Exactly this. Have to use a straight pick or center punch and just tap it in the center fairly hard. They're not reusable
Yup... ^THIS^...

Yeah I should of done that and will probably do that in the near future 😅
OEM pump from Turner is $8.95 plus shipping, unless your total buy is $50. My issue was gel/snot buildup on my intake filter of my E88 washer pump.
@@meatman6660 yeah I’m just going to replace the pump. That’s super cheap.
Thanks , very helpful video
Thanks, Bud. I will do this next week. Did you buy new fender clips from BMW or wherever?
Haha no I didn’t, I just kind of pushed them in and made it work. The pump is actually pretty cheap as well so might as well just replace it rather then ghetto rigging it like I did lol
Did it leak while not even being used? Mine leaks as soon as I fill it with liquid even if not used at all
That looks great!!
Do you do paintwork also?
💀
Would love to see you use jack stands or wooden blocks instead of the hydraulic alone. Things happens.
99% of the time I use jack stands with the hydraulic but this time I didn’t. I figured I wasn’t going under the car so didn’t need it.

you can do that too
Mine doesn’t have an o-ring just a rubber fit that goes between the pumper and reservoir
You can buy the rubber seals between pump and reservoir cheaply. They normally include a filter screen.
I can’t find that anywhere
I need some windshield wiper fluid too just reminded me
lol
Do these run similar to to the f10 m5?
no idea

can you take cover off without taking wheel off?
I don't think you can
Should have removed the pump and put some sealant on it and put the pump back in. When you just goop sealant on the outside it usually doesn’t last very long.
Yeah this was just a temporary quick fix. I realized a new pump is pretty cheap and I need to do that here soon.

Dude
You never get under your vehicle when it's on a jack only!!
Same issue shit. Thx
Yeah probably better off replacing the entire thing lol
👍👍👍
✅✅✅
BMW really loves to use plastic. This is so easy to break and BMW put it in such a hard to reach place is just insanity.
Why not just replace it? It’s a cheap part like $20
I just wanted to go a quick fix and make a video on it
You sit with your legs under car and you lay down to look under the car for hard to see bolts with no jack stands? Seriously? Use jack stands.
ROFL, now i know i don't want a 5 dollar fix it was probably just a 10cent o-ring replacement not that mess of a job

Those pins were not budging whatever I tried. This is obviously a quick fix video as explained in the title.

Relax Jose, it’s a quick fix. Did you not read the title?
