In this adventure, I take on the Premužićeva staza, or the Premuzic Trail, said to be one of the most beautiful trails in the Balkans. It's an overnight hike where I got to stay at a cozy mountain hut, experience 40KM+ of EPIC beauty far from the tourist crowds, and test my navigation skills. Oh - and the ending is pretty awesome too 🤭😉

If you’re using that sat phone as something to help you in an emergency it’s soo much better to attach it to the outside of your pack were you can easily grab it. Getting a small carabiner and putting it on one of the straps is a great way to make sure you can unclip it to take it with you if ever you walk away from your pack (you can always hurt yourself going off trail to pee/get water from a creek or even walking around camp).
If the worst does happen you don’t want to have to spend excess time/energy digging to the bottom of your pack and it’s just really stressed me out seeing that ♥️

Wouldn't something like a spot device or an epirb-like-thing be better for hikers? Cheaper, lighter, same kind of functionality if you're in an emergency.
Clip it to you belt so you have it on you even if you're seperated from your pack.

@@sparsh415 I always have a wissle with me. Plus a walky talky and my husband knows on wat chanel I will have it open on the hour if something is wrong. My location is more or less known, enough for the walky talky reach. No budget for the big stuff
@@sparsh415 If its a popular city to city greenway - yes. Mountain trails...not so much - the whistle echoes between rock walls making it hard to pin-point

I am so proud and happy to live in Croatia. I moved here 2 years ago from the Netherlands. Best decision I've ever made. I'm half Croatian, half Dutch and I've always felt so connected to this country. It's home. And so so beautiful. Thank you for showing it!

I was also looking at her shoes in the end and they don't look like real hiking shoes. Soft sole shoes will soon start causing pain as you feel every rock and uneven surface you walk on. I don't know how she does it.

@@MrSupernova111 Today's Trekking Shoes have a much more substantial sole than soft sole 'tennis shoes' but they are light weight when you don't need a lot of ankle support like on well established trails. There at the end not so much. Looks can be deceiving.

Since then I’d been planning to live in my car and explore Australia (my country) unfortunately many lockdowns have put my plans on hold. Beautiful scenery. That epic leap into the ocean from what, about 8 INCHES, was hilarious! Thanks for taking us on the journey.
Having anything swinging from the bottom or anywhere on your pack like your mess kit engages a lot of your stabilizer muscles and takes more energy than if it wasn't swinging like a pendulum. If you can tuck it under a strap or something it would really help. If there's room in your pack you can put it in a 2 gallon zip lock if you're worried about food smells/stove char getting on your stuff.
Life is beautiful, sad, tiring, thrilling, mesmerizing. Stop and enjoy what you see, hear , smell and taste in life at least once in a whilE. Eva, thank you!

im always one of those people who really loves nature but scared to go on a hike alone or even camping in the forest (its just making me anxious so never done those things before or planning to do in the future lol), so glad i found your channel and get to see how it feels like to blend in with the nature all by yourself. thankyou eva, hope you always lives your life to the fullest 🖤

Eva, how beautiful the Croatian mountains 🏔 are! That view at the end of the day is breathtaking! We were in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee a few weeks ago! I wanted to stay in the Mountains so bad! Yes, I would absolutely love to visit the Croatian trails! So glad that you got to see some wild life! We saw 4 bucks and 4 set of Black mama bears 🐻 with their cubs! It was amazing! Thank you for taking us in this adventure! 🥰♥️💕🙏

Go hiking then, the trees can't spread Covid ? She hiked for two days and didn't see a single person ! Get out of the house and walk around a local park ? I walk every day and see very few people out and I carry a mask in my pocket if I need it. ✌️💜🎸
@@daveholley2156 If you're from the Netherlands like me a hike in your own country is not even gonna come close to a good mountain hike. Our country is so flat. There are a few slightly hilly nature reserves (by that I mean very little high difference, maybe 50m max), but you really start to miss real hiking in the mountains. A walk in the park can never compare to a mountain hike.
@@daveholley2156 unfortunately some of us are in lockdown areas and are not allowed to go hiking :( in my home city someone was charged for going out for a hike as it was outside his 5km radius.

Ahh that was a good! I'm off to the Outer Hebrides in my Defender next week.. I don't expect it to be quite so warm.. and I don't expect to be jumping in the sea at the end of the trip, but I do expect to explore some of the most remote and beautiful beaches in Europe. Here's to all those who take the road less traveled.
The Sea's actually not that bad at this time of year - the Gulfstream washes heat up the west of scotland, peak water temperature is around about september (usually around 19C or so - not tropical but perfectly okay) to be in for a bit and gorgeous beaches!
@@tomriley5790 I't OK, I live in the Highlands anyway so well used to it... hopefully the sun will be out.. but I still doubt I'll be jumping in the sea.. I may have a paddle at Valtos Beach if I'm feeling brave though ;)

Water supply in that shelter (Rossijevo sklonište) is collected rain water not real underground water, it should be boiled before drinking.

Why Europeans are so disciplined, I always get amazed by their qualities. The hut in 8:53 is so clean. I can't imagine what will be happen to a hut like that in my country. Hats off Europeans

Some tips on safety:
1- Take a break from an adventure only in places with people you trust.
2- Stay in touch with family on a regular basis.
3 - When planning an adventure check the safety of the country and region, including roads.
I think it's so sad that most advice is based on fear. Most countries are safe to travel, the more remote you go the better it gets.

Might I suggest that you install an anti theft device on your Defender. Even something as simple as a cut off switch on your fuel pump will prevent vehicle theft.
