As a native Texan, as soon as I saw you planned to go through Nuevo Laredo, and enter into Laredo, I was concerned. That is one of the most intense border crossings on our Texas/Mexico border. If you had gone through Matamoros, Mexico/Brownsville, TX, your experience would have been much better. Sorry that happened to you. You just happened to pick a very dangerous part of Mexico on your way here. I just found your channel tonight and I love your positive attitude.

No location is exactly how it's portrayed, it's the individuals when you get there that make the difference. And I've noticed that you give reasonable and logical advice on personal safety for travelling alone and I , as the father of 4 girls and 5 boys, greatly appreciate that. I am honestly addicted to watching what you share. As a truck driver, I love driving... anywhere. This trip from mexico to Alaska, going on rt 66.... Anyways, I drove from Fort Worth, Texas to Los Angles and then visited friends and then drove back. The cost of my gas for the actual travel from Fort Worth, TX to LA and back cost me about twenty bucks. Man, have times changed.

This "always feeling under the pressure of time" really resonates with me. When I was 19, and travelled to Europe alone, I bought an old VW van in Amsterdam, driving it as far as Athens and the isle of Crete, and always I felt the urge to move on after only a few days in one place. Along the way I met countless travelers who would find a place they liked, and just settle in there, like the German man in this video. I thought these urges would die down as time went on, but they haven't. I suppose the nomadic soul craves movement, and the discovery of new people and places. Yet in that movement there are moments of pure bliss...

Look at it threw their eyes, they're looking for potential spies and terrorists and she checks multiple boxes that could potentially be a cause of concern. Trips to high alert countries, a RUclipsr/Patreon income, a Vegan entering Texas etc. It sucks and she would have been fine if she entered into California illegally, they'd have given her the government handouts guidebook and asked her to vote for whatever Democrats are running. I travel back and forth all the time both air and land borders never ever get stopped or questioned by border services. Few countries you visited in the past sanctioned by U.S and Canada therefore re-entry will be challenged every time as long as those stamps on your passport. I had a similar experience going to Canada from America at international falls on a fishing trip crossing into Canada and there even worse than the us. So besides the search and alll the bs one guy in our group had pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor in Wisconsin a couple months prior and Canada knew that and would not let him in. we crossed at three in the morning Canada said there was a small possibility they would let our friend in but they have to wait till nine in the morning. The supervisor came in and then it would be up to his discretion whether my friend get in or not. So to and our group stayed back in international Falls in one car, and the rest of us moved onto our fishing destinations. Upon speaking to a supervisor at 9 AM the supervisor decided that they would let my friend across the border to go fishing but he had to pay a $250 fine so he paid the fine, and he asked the supervisor what would happen in the future and the supervisor indicated that if he came back to Canada in the next five years the same process could happen again, and a different supervisor could reject him altogether. So Canada isn’t any better than US in fact are much worse, but somehow they have this reputation that they don’t deserve. Every time we caught crossed into the United States they just seem to be worried about once we told them we were fishing. How many fish did you have? How big were they? What kind of fish do you have and a couple of times we got our coolers surged, and one time one of our grove got busted and we had a pathfinder. I’d be interested to know what you think about this.

I can's speak on specifics, but from the things I've heard and seen while living in Mexico I can understand why the Border was so bad. Human and drug trafficking is a serious issue and the cartels have been very sneaky about getting past security. I am sorry that you had such a bad experience and it's hard having things happen and not understanding why. I guess they don't want anybody to have any information about why they do things that could report back to people who will try to abuse the system.

That border incident is all part of being a traveler. Our family which consisted of naturalized Chinese Americans and Chinese Australians decided to go to Tijuana from Sacramento. My family all had accents as they migrated to America after high school or later. When presenting ourselves to border customs we declared we were US and Australian citizens. I got through because I was only 6 years old when I immigrated so I didn't have an accent and they let me enter. My brother and one sister (no passports) and another sister and brother in-law who had Australian passports were held and interrogated for several hours in an interview room before they decided to let them through. This was in the 90's so its worse now.

That particular crossing is responsible for the seizure of millions of dollars worth of narcotics, cash and cash not to mention people on a daily basis. The Interstate 35 to Interstate 10 corridor is one of the most heavily used smuggling routes for both drugs and humans. The Border Patrol checkpoint that you subsequently drove through when leaving Laredo is also a hotspot for seizures. Laredo is a friendly place as is Texas but we just happen to live in a very dangerous area. Laredo is the largest inland port in the country and is the crossing point for billions in cargo from trucks to trains traveling north and south. The entire stretch of border here is frequently being infiltrated by the cartels. I'm glad you made the crossing through Tamaulipas safe. I've traveled through there and the feeling is not pleasant.

A couple of stories about US Border Security...
    1. Many years ago me and my then girlfriend went on a fly-drive holiday to Florida. We were in the passport line at Orlando airport and there was a group of young lads in front of us. They were on the same flight as us from the UK. They were standing near the yellow line by the immigration desk waiting for the previous people to be processed. They were in high spirits and having a laugh & joke but all in good taste and nothing bad happening. One of the guys put a foot over the line a few inches and a lady cop immediately reprimanded him. A few seconds later the same thing happened and the same lady cop pulled her f'ing gun out and pointed at him!!
    2. I was entering JFK airport after a flight from London. This is was in the days before the electronic visa and visitors from the UK need to have a Visa Waiver form which was usually handed out on the flight or you could pick one up just before you got to immigration. However, on this occasion the cabin crew had announced that they didn't have the forms on board and all non-US passengers would need to get one on arrival. Well, at JFK arrival they didn't have any either! I asked one of the "I'm here to help" staff and they just said I need to explain to the immigration officer and it wouldn't be a problem. I waited in a very long line for about 30 min and surprise, surprise the Immigration Officer told me "no form, no entry" and it was my own fault for not getting one from the cabin crew! I tried explaining they had run out. his response was "Not my problem. Next!" Again, I went to tell the same helper lady and she told me there's nothing she can do! It turns out that there were dozens and dozens of people in the same boat. It took another hour or so before the Immigration Staff finally realised that it wasn't just one dumb person that forgot to collect a form. Eventually, they let us through without the "essential" form.

      1) Did they report the officer? 2) Did you say anything? I have lived in the US almost all of my life and every time I have to travel when I return they give me trouble because of my "common name". One time I got put in a jail cell with my parents for hours along with some smuggler. Last time they did this to me I got really angry and complained (just verbally because you can't really do anything against them) and they released me pretty fast.

they have to search everyone including U.S citizens NOBODY CAN BE TRUSTED... You can’t just cross the border of a country and expect to not get checked... It's like an airport process, everyone needs to be checked before entering a plane so that criminals cannot make it through and enter a plane with innocent people. And it's extremely hard to detect a criminal who knows how to fit into society.
the borders should be open to people coming in legally and going through a process legally. Sadly illegals and gangs are coming through we cannot trust everyone... The border agents have to be extremely careful and thoroughly search everyone to due to sex trafficking, illegal guns coming through, and illegal drugs entering. The border agents are not at fault they are told to allow people with legal papers to come through easily but they have to search first... I can’t go to a European country and live there without a visa... That is illegal. Sadly, she got handcuffed but you have to understand that we have a crisis at the border. This is definitely not the right time to enter the U.S. And, sadly, the cartels have destroyed the southern border.

I was traveling by Greyhound Bus and because I was on that bus, everyone had to get off and wait for me to be processed as a foreigner. They asked a lot of questions that took almost an hour and finally let me through. I already had a 4 year visa issued in Australia but I think the main problem was that I had a small handheld Ham radio which I was licensed to operate. Trouble is that the border guys had no idea and thought I was suspect for having a radio. Anyway, they were doing their job the best they could and finally let me in. The other passengers on the bus were thoroughly annoyed with me for the rest of the trip for the hour long delay. NOT MY FAULT !!!
I am surprised now that I look at my old passport again to see I got a 4 year visa when I only wanted to visit for 6 weeks. That was a plus although I never used that visa again.

They always feel they are superior to everyone else on this planet. The American people in general are pretty friendly but their uniformed authorities are just born Aholes who think that by the badge they wear they just have to bully everyone. Had a friend who spoke so higly of the US oif A , but not anymore, after his demeaning stupid ridiculous arrival at the US. their forefathers had good intentions, but the leaders have really screwd that up, just as many other greedy leaders!!

Hearing about all these awful situations here is shocking!!! A film should be made about this to help stop this abuse and change things!!! It is SO wrong and very shocking and traumatic for innocent people that are deliberately out through this ordeal!!!
I came across another lady here in the comments section called Dee Lee who had a horrific experience and she documented her experience in a short video on her channel - if anyone would like to know more it's m.ruclips.net/video/j-6vUy6k0dM/видео.html
This should not happen - It needs to stop!!!

You have to realize that a USCBP officer particularly in Texas has probably never heard of Poland and if he has it's probably from Fox News so it's not good. Helping Ukrainians, so probably Nazis.

Quite the "unwelcome wagon"! As a Midwesterner, I expect my government to be thorough, which they tend NOT to be, but we should be treating people with respect. I hope the trip gets better quickly!

So painful to learn your traumatic experience. This is sheer torture by 'champions' of human rights. Relieved that you faced it once again with same courage as you always do. All the best Eva. You are simply unstoppable.

For a lady who does so much extreme travel alone, you need to be a very extreme planner, and a very responsible person. If you’re not your life could end very quickly. I never understand why people take those types of risks when life is so dangerous. I do enjoy your channel.

Wow, the border crossing was nuts but I feel like I am not super surprised, unfortunately. I have heard stories about Europeans, especially Eastern Europeans, getting recruited as drug traffickers by various cartels. Add that to the fact you are crossing with a car and have a boat load of weird passport stamps...yikes. Glad you got through it safely! Hope you have a great time in the U.S.!

That is not the point. The point is after all their nonsense they put handcufs on her. What was that? Power trip? Are they insane?
USA looks like a backwood Shithole!

@@Designer_TopG Idealistically, she would have been given a map and coupon book.. realistically they reminded her that crossing into the US is a privilege, and her attempt was scrutinized in the spirit that if everything is in order she should just let them do their job, which is getting more difficult every day.

I am so sorry you went through that. Unacceptable. I hope your experiences are kinder from now on. Also Primy and his family were angels!
