As we all know Luigi has shown to be slightly jealous of Mario at times (as he admits in Paper Mario), he loves his brother very much and looks up to him as a positive role model But in this game Luigi shows no act of jealousy and does everything he can in battle because of his brotherly love towards Mario He doesn’t care about being younger or anything else he only cares about his brothers safety He cares so much that he literally unleashed some hidden dream powers just to protect mario
Even in his dreams, Luigi is still Luigi. These god-like powers that he unleashes to distort reality and bend the physical limits of dreams is but a brother’s love. These power stem from Luigi’s will to be there for Mario, like he has always done for him. It’s beautiful
I really like them too, however due to how difficult they were for me I always had an absurd anxiety before and during those battles. 😅 Especially Bowser’s.

I had a pretty hard time with that bowser fight is was very hard the first time even now the bowser fight is still one of the hardest fights I've ever faced.

Just now realizing how genius the name is: The theme for when you size up-as in provoke or challenge- your enemy, which is exactly what these fights are all about, luigi rising to meet the challenge, or for when your enemy literally sizes up
Mario and Luigi dream team was the first game I had on my 3ds, and with that first impression I thought at first that it was like the DS, only able to have limited 3D in the background or whatever. Then the giant battles happen and absolutely blow my mind, showing visuals I didn’t even think were possible on a handheld. The sheer scale of the fight and the detail they were able to get was wild to me. They got the characters to look like the illustrations but in 3D! That’s not even mentioning how epic the actual fights were, they really nailed the cinematic feel
Absolutely agree… I played it when I just a kid when it came out, but returning to play the game again for the sake of nostalgia a decade later really made me appreciate and admire the insane 3D graphics Dream Team’s giant battle system had… it really was ahead of its time…
It's actually weird how difficult the game can be at times, given how the tutorials make you feel like the game was intended for children who never owned a game before. I legit didn't game over once in Superstar Saga, Partners in Time and Bowser's Inside Story (excluding the challenge rematches), but I died multiple times in Dream Team even with Badge healing and being overleveled

Very few moments in games top what I felt playing this back when I was 14, seeing the dream stone spirit fly into the background absorbing all the pieces, watching this figure being built. The graphics change as it drops down revealing the size of this giant robot, knocking out the whole stack of luiginary clones, while the sole Dreamy Luigi is seen understandably cowering in the corner, but it's not like every other moment no, somethings different, he's glowing, same as the L on his hat in the real world. Dreambert trying to call to him realizes it's no use and as a last ditch effort attempts to call for help from Starlow. Game tells you to tap around the sleeping Luigi's body to see if anything happens, you tap the L, suddenly a couple luiginary clones come flying in, then you hold down the L some more, suddenly a flurry of clones races in to help, all while exclaiming they gotta help Mario. The screen then rotates, "take our your stylus", press start, and let the giant battle begin. TL;DR I really liked these battles

The title of this song is actually a bit of a pun. To "size up" something is to get an estimate of its strength, or how much of a threat it is. But you're also facing an enemy with a size that has been upped.
i'm coming back here after beating giant bowser in the game. i wanted to play this game so much when i was younger, but i couldn't because i didn't have a 3ds. but now i have a pc that is able to emulate a 3ds. and when i ran dream team and it actually ran well made so happy you wouldn't believe it, a game that i wanted to run so much when i was younger, now running just fine on my new pc! and i enjoyed the game too! that's the best part. i was so excited to see the first giant battle, that i literally didn't sleep just to fight him. almost felt like i was 6 or 7 again, i never had the same kind of excitement with any game except dream team. and now going through the game that i never thought i would be able to play. it just feels amazing, and realizing the fact that i am fighting the last giant battle boss already, is amazing.
These were epic, but i swear if i meet the guy that programmed drill stomp I will clock upside the head with every ounce of strength i have for programming that impossible attack. Aside from that and the aggressive tutorials this game is great.

I made myself a playlist with game music I unironically listen to while working or just relaxing and Pokémon occupies a lot of the list, followed by various Mario music and a few Sonic themes too. If I had to recommend a Pokémon game just by the music alone I'd say Pokémon Platinum has the best Route themes, Pokémon Black/White 2 the best City themes and Pokémon HeartGold/SoulSilver the best battle themes (with Black/White 2 being outstanding in all 3 categories), although pretty much all of the games have some absolute gems.
I'll one up Zeekeeper with Giant boss gauntlet Zeekeeper bro does like half your health in one hit and then after you get sent down to like no health then you gotta do bower no hit and gotta pray he doesn't use shy guy swarm on his first gate turn.
I really liked the Giant Battles in this game more than Bowser's Inside Story. I think I felt the weight and impact of the attacks more in this game compared to the other one.

I was stuck on that battle for almost 2 years if I remember correctly
