Find out which places in your town have live music frequently and start there ❤️🔥 club promoters WANT you to perform because you’ll bring a crowd in! I haven’t booked as a rapper this year but I did a couple of radio interviews as an author last year and also booked a speaking gig last month. Just be open to the possibilities and you’ll that the universe has your back! 💪🏽😤🔥

You could possibly pitch yourself as an opener that way 🤔 Also, I learned in my writing practice that family and friends aren’t necessarily the end all be all. My close family didn’t want to tell me my book covers were horrible lol. Sooo just because THEY think you only have 2 solid tracks doesn’t mean that you ONLY have 2. What are YOUR faves? What pumps YOU up? The audience will know if you’re not vibing with it, and that matters most IMO

I spent YEARS in my closet writing lyrics and not doing anything with them because I wanted to be the next Nicki Minaj. It wasn’t until I let go of that false expectation that I actually started making moves! It’s hard to remember to be yourself because the listeners want something new and different, not carbon copies like we’re tricked into thinking. Ps, thank you for all your tips! I started making music on a half broken laptop with plug in earbuds used as headphones, I was always writing and singing as a kid, rapping and shit, I was 13, I'm 15 now still going and I've shown so much improvement. I think the hardest thing was getting people to realize, I'm in this. Like this isn't gonna stop no matter what, and once some people saw that, they just went with it. I was told my music is shit, I was told to change some things, where others would get mad, I saw a chance to make myself better, learn from what you do wrong.
Today I saw a group of girls and I did my first freestyle in public. When I was done they asked for my number. Thx for helping me get better at rapping (and fixing girls)
