Kramer's response feels like the best part to me. Shock, embarrassment and amusement all appearing on his face while the audience had a laugh before he delivered the Titleist line.

Seriously Jason Alexander so should have won an Emmy that season: The Marine Biologist, The Opposite, The Conversion. He was at his peak George.

Fun Fact: According to Jason Alexander, the monologue was actually an alternate ending to the episode. The initial test screening of The Marine Biologist ended with George walking into the sea, but the Seinfeld crew didn't find the ending funny. Larry David wrote the monologue and Jason memorized it in ten minutes. It was done entirely in one take.
Idk why would they have set up the whole thing with Kramer hitting golf balls into the ocean then? Unless that was all added after too

Jason Alexander memorized this three-page monologue in an hour. Jerry is on record stating that the look on his face throughout the entire monologue is that he cannot believe Jason was word-perfect.
Ten minutes actually. This scene was written in at the last moment during the actual taping.

@@SidGolanIt was written at 2.00 am not during taping and when Jerry gave it to him he said you’ve got 30 mins to memorize it to which Jason replied No Problem….

Jason Alexander’s facial affirmation to Kramer’s question “Is that a Titleist” is JUST perfect! Also, Michael Richard did a great job delaying and letting the audience laugh through the golf ball revel before asking it.
Jason Alexander said that the audience laugh was over one minute long and had to be cut down.
This scene is an Emmy winner for George, is a long overdue

I just saw the interview Jerry Seinfeld did when he stated that Jason Alexander was given that speech only 30 minutes before he was to deliver it on television and slam dunked it! How he was able to memorize it and deliver it along with George's mannerisms was astounding!
When the writers came up with the idea of the golf ball suffocating the whale and George saving the day, it was less than 24 hours before filming. They handed the new script to Jason Alexander to memorize the speech, and the look on Jerry's face isn't from shock at George's biological accomplishments; it's genuine shock at Jason's capability of memorizing word-for-word in such a short amount of time!
Only Jason Alexander could throw down a speech like this!! Gets me every time 😂👏

It’s a shame to not show the golf setup with Kramer at the beginning of this clip. It’s one of the best setups in all of tv.

When I saw this episode on TV I laughed until I cried. Great writing, great delivery, great responses from everyone. Still one of the most hilarious things I’ve seen on television.

According the commentary on the DVDs, the audience reaction to this scene was so loud and lasted for so long, the guys in the editing room had to alter the volume of the crowd and cut the amount of time the audience can be heard, otherwise it would have caused the episode to run too long for broadcast.

Just watched Jerry talking about how they came up with the golf ball in the whale idea at 2am the night before the final day of shotting the episode. Jason memorized that speech in 30 minutes. The look on Jerry’s face wasn’t acting, he was SHOCKED that George absolutely nailed it first take.

Only a trained theatre actor like Jason could have pulled this off. He was the best actor on the show and he was comic timing monologue perfection here.
George is my favorite character in this series, but I love that all four main characters had great storylines - that is part of what made Seinfeld so fun and unique.
