about the grip being better in turns, is that only for the AWD or just in general.. have booked top end diesel 2wd and on fence about the AWD.. How does it do in terms of performance and stability/handling as compared to its 2wd counterpart
It’s better in general. Where the AWD gives you the edge is putting down power aggressively on corner exits. With four tyres to put down power, acceleration out of bends is better
@@evoIndia so it seems like the awd is about a 100kgs heavier than the 2wd.. is acceleration same/better/worse considering more grip but also more weight to lug
@@susanfernandezYt Hycross is the least comfortable in the segment. Reliability and most spacious but ride quality is strictly average. Xuv700 is good safari/harrier are the best in this segment by big margin.
@Aditya-zb9ir lol most new safaris and harriers are defected. There is whole thread on this. So many issues tata is worst don't buy and don't suggest anyone to buy tata. Never
Driving experience, ease of driving and the feel of Safari even after 2.5 years of driving makes it the best SUV in its segment. This is my experience of driving this vehicle since Oct '21. Good vehicles drive the same even after many years of driving and that's what speaks about the superior engineering of this world class SUV - built on Omega Arc platform, Safari is a proven vehicle and will be the king of Indian SUVs for a very long time. Having driven other SUVs too, i would still go out and purchase a new Safari (even now) without much ado...
How is your experience with Safari? Any issues? How is the service cost? We have booked a Harrier in our family. We have really fell in love with the car over XUV700. But reading its issues all over the internet, is not giving the confidence. So asking...because nothing better than an owner's experience.
Idk, i love both. Never thought I'd see, or even drive something like these on our roads. But thank god we do ❤ Get what speaks to you imo. No amount of features can speak to you like a test drive does.
Guys... which looks more premium, XUV or Safari? Help me decide please as I have to buy one in 2-3 days? (Im not inclined towards performance... i want to make an impression)
I would recommend you to undoubtedly go for the Mahindra XUV700 between the two. Moreover, Hycross is an even better choice but it's much more expensive. If you can afford it's top ends from VX(O) then it might be a favourable choice. But you can anyways save money and choose the XUV700. It's now a tried and tested product, and you will end up loving every bit of it. Just imagine travelling at night on a highway with those 12 speakers playing your favourite song, it feels like being on cloud nine as those white lights illuminate it's interior.
Hi Ritesh, while looks are always subjective, we think the Safari looks a tad bit better, especially in this new avatar. That said, the XUV is a looker too. Why not check them both out at dealership, maybe with your family and friends. That should help you make a decision.
Hi there, I watched your videos on RUclips and think you might be able to help me with some questions. I’m considering the Safari, XUV700, and Scorpio N for my needs. I have a large family of seven, and I plan to travel across India-not to extreme locations like deserts, but to places like Ladakh, Spiti, and Manali where there might be snow and black ice. I’m wondering if the Safari will be suitable for these conditions or if I should opt for the XUV700 with all-wheel drive or the Scorpio N with 4x4. I’m leaning towards the Safari due to its impressive road presence and comfort, but the XUV700 is appealing for its performance. However, I’m also concerned about the reliability of Tata cars. Do you think the Safari is reliable? If you were choosing a new car, would you go for the Safari or a Mahindra model?
I own a xuv700 AX7 I have problems with suspension The noise of suspension is little irritating and now the ride quality has decreased considerably.... Last tym at the service center they were not able to detect the problem and solve it.This tym hope they come up with a solution
Safari could have been a better vehicle, but it fails miserably in achieving that position. Nowadays, even a day doesn't pass without hearing laments of owners regretting their decision of going for Tata's vehicles. I have put some light on what some folks in the comment section have addressed- 1. Suspension Noise in XUV700- The noise from suspension has apparently been resolved. But I guess, there are still some owners experiencing it. 2. Cabin Space- I have personally compared the space management and gotta agree, Safari does a better job at it. The headroom and space in 3rd row is considerably better in Safari. 3. Ride and Handling- XUV shines in raw power, ride quality and handling. I am acknowledging this fact on the basis of views from those who have driven both vehicles. I have never got a chance to test drive or even start a Safari; everytime, I visited the dealer, it's battery was always dead. The only vehicle that was in a working condition was the Nexon. 4. Cabin Ambience - Safari's interior might seem more premium, but the quality control and rough edges snatches away all the luxury. XUV's interior has got better ambience and quality control. Like I mentioned earlier, I never started the vehicle, that could be a reason why I felt XUV's interior stance to be better. Here are my views on different factors that most folks here addressed. So at the end of the day, which one would I favour? Well if Tata had a better quality control, ASS and fame, the tagline 'Safari' was replaced by say 'Gravitas', Safari sold as much as XUV and had similar raw power, then I would have undoubtedly gone for the Safari. But considering the present scenerio, I will vouch for XUV700. It is for sure, a better and safer option overall.
@@bharatshroff4085 I will book the XUV700 sooner or later if everything goes right. I have pointed out the stuff which I gathered from reading various reviews, I am not being much judgemental, am I?
Thanks for ur reply, Hope you own ur one soon. Since I am owning XUV I would suggest the After Sales Service of Mahindra is a headache. The vehicle no doubt is a class but the latest launched Harrier & Safari twins looks flamboyant & awesome & the Jeep sourced diesel engine is quite capable enough in low RPM.. However the XUV engine is more robust for fun loving & thrill seeking drivers.
For me XUV7OO any day just because of its beast engine....that power delivery when u put the foot on pedal... ....that doesn't mean I don't love Safari...it's every Indian car enthusiasts dream...but I will consider engine over features...and it's just my opinion... everyone have thr own😊
First XUV 700, Scorpio Classic, Safari Storme more close to heart...Back then engineers made Cars which were articulate. Nowadays its just touchscreen showcases...!!
The performace, the engine, the ride quality and comfort ..all are top notch in the xuv 700 ..,,,Though safari leads the 700 in terms of features yet i gonna pick the 700
Brilliant brilliant review. Firstly, good choice of comparison parameters. Next, engaging as heck. Lastly, very high production value. You've found a new subscriber 😊
Please watch comparo of safari, fwd xuv700 and rwd innova crysta on zigwheels. On a steep rough incline, innova thanks to its rwd, completed the patch in 22 odd seconds, safari took 28 seconds and xuv700 took 37 seconds. Xuv700 maybe more powerful but poor suspension made poor traction and a poor time. Maybe awd xuv700 would have done better. Power wise xuv700 is better, but DEFINITELY not as exaggerated as Mahindra fanbois suggest.
Safari has one big flaw in the ergonomics of driver posture and viewing area of the windshield. The knee hits the dashboard's lower edge. You will see more bonnet and your eye angle cannot see close ground to your bumper.
Leaving everything aside, It is absolutely stupid to put 30+L on a Tata when they have known QC issues. 25 years since Tata entered the passenger car segment and yet they are unable to give cars without QC issues. One can get away selling trucks with poor fit and finish, but it is an absolute no-no in passenger car segment.
Tata is second highest selling passenger vehicle manufacturer. Safari + Harrier sell over 5500 units a month. Ask majority of Safari owners and they will vouch for this vehicle anytime. For people who value driving comfort, ease of driving and feeling of safety of this car, they won't trade it for any other SUV. Don't make judgements based on reviews online. Drive all SUVs at least 3 - 4 times and then take a call. Most probably you will choose Safari - the Omega Arc platform is unbeatable on Indian roads...
@indraneelghosh3696 Most of the buyers have more complaints than praises. The QC of Tata is so pathetic. The AS&S is even worse. Tata's AS&S was like how Skoda was 15 years ago (However Skoda did not come with QC issues). Immaterial of how good platform it is built on, if the AS&S is bad, no one will get a car. In fact, a brand new Safari was completely disassembled within 3 days of delivery and after much pressure and media coverage, the customer was refunded his entire money. Funny thing, Tata did not know how to resolve the issue. I'm an active member of T-BHP and I've come across innumerable horror stories of Tata that I wouldn't touch it with a 10 feet pole! If numbers speak for the product, Maruti makes better products than Tata 😊
Hi Evo india, I really want a best diesel automatic suv, with great TRANSMISSION, i drove both , it is noisy, even in city traffic. I own a skoda rapid diesel dsg, i feel that one is lot quieter. I also think Tucson diesel auto transmission is also great, please comment . I want 7 seater ,diesel automatic, which one is best for driving enthusiast ?
I would go for AWD for what i am paying & yes !! I usually travel lot through ghats and off road with loads of luggage and equipments, on Mumbai-Mahabaleshwar-Konkan-return. I do struggle with FWD on those patches and heavy in rain & after !
Xuv700 any day.! Safari cons - That giant tractor like clutch and heavy steering with that notch running across the dashboard in safari sticking your left knee is painful on long drive and after sales of tata 😢nightmare
While we get what you mean, the Safari facelift is much better. The AT means no more clutching and the EPAS ensures the steering is easier than before. That said, the XUV700 is quite a great SUV as well.
Tata Safari have more premium feel in side the cabin and driving area than Mahindra XUV. Tata Safari have edge over XUV 700 by its Massive road presence , capability to drive on rough road or urban road without having AWD & Tata safari is more practical to use in urban and rural areas than XUV 700. ₹ 30 lakhs + suv buyers wouldn't be bother for resale value , Rather than he would prefer for driving pleasure ,comfort and safety these all are present in Tata Safari The Indian range rover ❤. Now Tata safari come with gesture control tail gate , 3 rd row have more spacious and boss mode to adjust space for middle row passenger.
Safari fans, assemble! 🚙 After an epic 21,000 km journey with my beast, including an unforgettable 8,000 km North East road trip over 35 days, I can confirm: this SUV has a personality of its own. 😅 Loved PowerDrift's take - they’ve nailed the essence of the Safari! Sharing my detailed ownership journey and road trip adventures on my channel if you're curious about the long-term quirks and joys of Tata's flagship! 🙌
The lump which is hanging exactly between the front tyres of Safari doesnt give me full confidence that it can go much further without damaging that part and idk if that's plastic or steel which can withhold some impact on it.
4X4 in my opinion is absolutely useless. In a normal household if you buy a car and do off-roading then after coming back home your mom will run behind you with a slipper in her hands because the car would've been so dirty. So, honestly 4X4 is extremely unnecessary in a segment best luxury vehicle like Tata Safari. What they can offer is AWD, there's a difference. 4X4 is usually used for off-roading with 4H and 4L gears to travel on suitable off-road terrains but AWD is a simpler component where power is sent to all 4 wheels, basically the car is in 4H all the time. The AWD could be necessary because FWD SUVs can have the potential to skid in higher speeds or wet places. So, in case it rains the AWD system would give better traction. Just like in XUV 700, it's primarily a FWD car, but when the car needs traction during high speeds or wet roads the power is respectively sent to all 4 wheels so that the car is balanced. The same system in the Safari can help the car go through such conditions as, except for RUclips videos no normal person will ever take their Safari or XUV 700 to off-road. Like, the max you'd do is hoon around in sand which is possible in the FWD model as well, but the AWD would've a purpose a lot different to off-roading.
I believe Zubin joined to learn how to be a car enthusiast and a reviewer (5:25), but you made him a car wash guy, why? Not fair bro. Overall an good review, still not clear which car to go for.
I saw safari standing in forum Mall, kanakapura, Bangalore last weekend . The sales person was not at all interested and was sleeping inside the car. They did not show us any features and set the battery is dead. How can display cars battery be dead. It is either a pathetic sales or a pathetic product. There was very less space in the last row. The dashboard was nothing to talk about. The white seats were already dirty.
0:06 What would it have taken to mount the licence plate properly horizontal, instead of the slant it is mounted at? Tata dealerships clearly haven't yet been dragged into the passenger car business from the rudimentary commercial vehcile pedigree of the brand. For that reason alone and at that point in the video itself I would pick the Mahindra over the Tata.
@@harishe6069That's the reason TATA is developing 1.6 Liter Gdi petrol engine , which deliver good power and decent enough mileage . 2000 cc is a huge engine so it requires fuel as well

Safari is tested under new Gncap Standards !!! XUV is tested under old GNcap Standards... There's some difference between both !! BTW XUV that was tested has only 2 air bags...

What a big deal name doesn’t matter quality matters suspension of xuv700 is more useless than this comment
0-100 time for both??
about the grip being better in turns, is that only for the AWD or just in general.. have booked top end diesel 2wd and on fence about the AWD.. How does it do in terms of performance and stability/handling as compared to its 2wd counterpart
It’s better in general. Where the AWD gives you the edge is putting down power aggressively on corner exits. With four tyres to put down power, acceleration out of bends is better
@@evoIndia thank you!
@@evoIndia so it seems like the awd is about a 100kgs heavier than the 2wd.. is acceleration same/better/worse considering more grip but also more weight to lug
IF I AM SPENDING THAT KIND OF MONEY I WANT AWD TOO
True if i want a suv with features i will get a xuv700 and if i want total comfort i will get innova hycross but safari is no where near
If you really need AWD, the XUV is your choice for sure.
@@susanfernandezYt
Hycross is the least comfortable in the segment.
Never
@@luvpratapsingh2083defected? Haha. Driven 19k in 10 months and not a single issue yet. 🙌🏻🙏🏻
Can't believe the XUV still manages to miss out on auto dimming IRVM in the 2024 update
Haha!
Amen to that! Test driving before buying is the answer to most car buying doubts!
Guys... which looks more premium, XUV or Safari?
If u talk about looks , SAFARI is better

Boot space (240L vs 420L) is exchanged?
Go for 700
100% safari
I own a xuv700 AX7
I have problems with suspension
The noise of suspension is little irritating and now the ride quality has decreased considerably....
Last tym at the service center they were not able to detect the problem and solve it.This tym hope they come up with a solution
OMG! It’s not just me. And the lack of understanding at the showrooms across brands is just bad.
Upgrade you suspension with arc suspension
So so much for so called FSD suspension, many fell for it. In the end quality matters not name.
Pls pls pls a Detailed Comparison between Xuv 700 Awd diesel Vs Tuson Diesel Awd .....
9:28 The xuv also gets the cooled storage bin.
Yes, it does.
Tata Safari looks awesome ❤❤
Oh yes, definitely with those new looks!
Safari could have been a better vehicle, but it fails miserably in achieving that position. Nowadays, even a day doesn't pass without hearing laments of owners regretting their decision of going for Tata's vehicles. I have put some light on what some folks in the comment section have addressed-
1. Suspension Noise in XUV700-
The noise from suspension has apparently been resolved. But I guess, there are still some owners experiencing it.
2. Cabin Space-
I have personally compared the space management and gotta agree, Safari does a better job at it. The headroom and space in 3rd row is considerably better in Safari.
3. Ride and Handling-
XUV shines in raw power, ride quality and handling. I am acknowledging this fact on the basis of views from those who have driven both vehicles. I have never got a chance to test drive or even start a Safari; everytime, I visited the dealer, it's battery was always dead. The only vehicle that was in a working condition was the Nexon.
4. Cabin Ambience -
Safari's interior might seem more premium, but the quality control and rough edges snatches away all the luxury.
Do you own any one of the either vehicles, as you're being way too judgemental??
Tata Safari is far better .. much more comfortable than xuv700 beautiful looking & lots of features too .. I don't need AWD. The best go for safari
For me XUV7OO any day just because of its beast engine....that power delivery when u put the foot on pedal...
....that doesn't mean I don't love Safari...it's every Indian car enthusiasts dream...but I will consider engine over features...and it's just my opinion... everyone have thr own😊
Wonderfully explained brother. Totally unbiased comparison in a nutshell. Great job done. All the best.
Fantastic, extremely detailed and very polished review. The reviewer was excellent!
Thank you so much for the kind words! :)
Which one is best
Which car u buy Aatish if u have to choose between two??
I'd buy the XUV. That's why it's my winner as well!
Does the XUV 700 have Captain seats option with AWD??
Yes!
No captain seats for AWD version only for 2WD captain seats option available
Very good one, Aatish..
Thank you so much!
TATA Safari ❤ 🔥🔥🔥❤
does Safari have sim configuration like XUV have and inbuild navigation like Mapple XUV have ?
Hi Evo india, I really want a best diesel automatic suv, with great TRANSMISSION, i drove both , it is noisy, even in city traffic. I own a skoda rapid diesel dsg, i feel that one is lot quieter.
Safari cons -
That giant tractor like clutch and heavy steering with that notch running across the dashboard in safari sticking your left knee is painful on long drive and after sales of tata 😢nightmare
While we get what you mean, the Safari facelift is much better. The AT means no more clutching and the EPAS ensures the steering is easier than before. That said, the XUV700 is quite a great SUV as well.
That knee problem in the auto is not an issue. You can just put your seat really further but yeah the manual is worst with no dead pedal either
@BusinessMail-dv7nc No way. Tata's service terrible across the board. Atleast Mahindra makes an effort
@BusinessMail-dv7nc welcome to the gimmick world of social media. People ❤to brag . Real buyers won’t even bother.
@BusinessMail-dv7nc Isn't urs the same then? What examples have you quoted?
East or west xuv700 is best
Well said
Hey luv ur videos Fam! Just an request, Can u make an video on Chevy Spark?
XUV are so good ❤❤
XUV700 seems to me the better car. The only plus point for Safari is the looks(for me personally).
Cooled storage bin is present in 700 too
Oh yes, it's got that!
XUV 700 looks like 20 lakh CAR.
MEANWHILE
SAFARI LOOKS LIKE STRAIGHT FROM RANGE ROVER.
I believe Zubin joined to learn how to be a car enthusiast and a reviewer (5:25), but you made him a car wash guy, why? Not fair bro. Overall an good review, still not clear which car to go for.
Its literally a joke
It's nice of you to introduce the intern😂
Why is the Safari’s number plate not aligned? 😅
Safari most luxurious
but always after xuv 700
scorpio n amt le ya manual ?
Dono achi hai. AMT me convenience hai, manual me maza. Dono ki test drive le.
Safari looks so good,,,,,,,,,,,, stunning in this copper colour
Couldn't help but notice misaligned number plate on Safari and ignorance of dealers that covers radar, which causes so many warnings and failures.
I will wait for Petrol Safari 😊 Investing in Diesel vehicle (esp at NCR) makes little sense.
Let's hope it comes soon then!
Petrol SUV's are gas guzzlers, would return in single digit FE.. not worth IMO..
dont buy safari
@@harishe6069That's the reason TATA is developing 1.6 Liter Gdi petrol engine , which deliver good power and decent enough mileage .
2000 cc is a huge engine so it requires fuel as well
Why is the number plate not aligned correctly on Safari. They really need to work on fit and finish
Front wheel drive in the safari is not acceptable. At least a rear wheel drive??
My country XUV 700Mahindra & tata safari ❤❤ i love this I'm suport my country car 🚗❤👍👍👍👍👍
Loved the video just wanted to know if the captain seats have better under thigh support than the bench variant in xuv700
Also for some reason the Xuvs that we test drove all felt like the old safari, excessive vibrations seeping into the steering and cabin while the safari on the other hand felt butter smooth , is this simply down to the test drive vehicles being old and abused
Yep, that's the case for sure. Test drive units do sometimes feel rough.
About your query, yes the captain seats are far more comfortable.
@@evoIndia that's a relief because I honestly found the rear bench of the xuv to be a bit lacking in terms of comfort and under thigh support
Safari is rated 5 star for both child and adult safety. XUV700 is 4 start for child and 5 star for adult.
Safari is tested under new Gncap Standards !!! XUV is tested under old GNcap Standards... There's some difference between both !! BTW XUV that was tested has only 2 air bags...
@@Anatoly_Dyatlov The star ratings are still correct. Both under old and new. Read the report. You will know.
Dear Atish,
The way you introduced intern 👎🏻
If only xuv700 had 2nd row movable seats woth ventilation, sunblinds and bit of roof scooped up for better 3rd row head room, it would have been a banger.
I really like safari for this very reasons
18:46 may be the 18 inch tyre would have a bit less issue
A bigger wheel would make it even harsher. It's more to do with how the suspension is setup.
