I like how they take Link's different forms into account. Reminds me of how Tatl will scold you if you try to mount Epona while you are transformed, she'll say something different for each one.

Funny how Zora link has electric abilities yet in BoTW Zoras being weak to electricity is a big deal
I find that weird too because I think Zora's in MM are weak to fire and ice but in BotW they have a weakness to electricity.
@@TheOmegaDragon not to mention the whole BS in WW that Zoras, the WATER PEOPLE couldn't live in the great sea so they had to evolve into the Rito, one of the dumbest things ever, glad BoTW seems to have retconned that, having them coexist as different races
Meanwhile MM Zora's living in the great bay sea no problem (except for the pollution caused by Skull kid but that isn't natural to them)

This game was made in under a year! It's incredible that they still went through the trouble of putting such loving attention to detail in building this masterpiece.
I knew Goht could be defeated with magic arrows, I used to hide in the doorway and just shoot him as he charges by. But I never knew normal arrows could do the trick like that! Love this series!
Staying in the doorway and shooting fire arrows at him was literally the way I beat him the first time way back then lmao.

Not sure if you already knew this but maybe you'll feature it in a future video, if you approach Sakon in Ikana Valley while wearing the transformation masks he'll have different behaviors. I never tried it with Goron Link, but with Mikau he'll try to run away and with the Deku he'll ignore Link completely.

Great vids! I'm a huge Majora's Mask fan and have played through it multiple times, collecting a large amount of trivia and quirks about the game, and this video still had some things I didn't know.
Here's one that might be new for you that I rarely see get brought up:
If you complete the Milk Bar's "sound check" on the first night, then a (slightly) more cheerful Gorman will join the juggling brothers' card game (at the Stock Pot Inn) on the second night.
I recently replayed MM3D and accidentally glitched Epona into clock town. Not sure how I did it but it was neat

@@Syrup_Sugar well Zeltik knows his shit, but as a guy with a basic level of tune comprehension, I can say confidently that the goron lullaby is not being used. It might have been a springboard at some point for the composer, but 8 evenly-spaced notes is not that hard to come up with independently, even if there is a repeating ascending motif for the first 6 of those 8
In fact, the Song of Soaring is a lot closer to what you hear in Goron Mines. Go listen again and tell me i'm wrong :V that just occurred to me just now, trying in my head to force Goron Lullaby to fit

I noticed it in the video, but Epona seems to get startled by the clock tower bells. She whinnied every time the bell rang.
I remember doing the Epona glitch when I was younger. It was done through the save owl though. Once I got the hang of it, I was so obsessed with bringing her everywhere I went.
Now I wish Epona could be ridden in Clock Town normally. 😭
It makes no sense that she can jump fences but can't get over a little step.

in regards to that giant Skull Kid drawing, when looking through the telescope if you zoom in at Woodfall a guay will fly out, circle for a bit and then drop a red rupee right on top of that drawing.

There was another method of getting epona into clock town and even other places that I found when I was younger. It even allowed for other forms of link to ride epona. It required both save slots so both games needed to be progressed far enough to have epona.
Say you want deku link to ride epona in clock town.
1) start file 2 and save/quit at an owl statue with the deku form active
2) swap to file 1 and ride epona around termina field and into milk road (there's an owl statue in there)
3) while maintaining speed, rush the owl statue and spam the activate button near it to quickly save/quit (while moving)
4) swap back to file 2 and if everything worked you should be mounted on epona as deku link in clock town. If memory serves epona will be loaded in running as well.
I used to run the entire circle of termina field before going into milk road but i don't think it's required. I do believe you have to have at least unlocked epona on both files but again idr it's been a long time. I also have only done this on my old n64 cart so idk if it works on any other version.
Oh and this does work in tandem with the fierce deity glitch (there's a glitch utilizing the thief's cave that let's you become fierce deity link outside of boss battles) however because fierce deity literally cannot put his sword away, he just constantly pulls out a bow when on epona.

I remember an alternative, less situational Epona glitch that allowed you to bring Epona not only into clock Town but anywhere with an owl statue and in any form:
You need 2 save files. In file one, save anywhere, and quit. In file two, ride on Epona, save and quit *while on Epona* at the Milk Road statue. Reload save one and you'll be on Epona. Thank Nintendo Power Magazine for that one
I knew that about the cows, I thought it was amusing as a kid... I figured they were going for a girlish giggle and the devs decided to recycle the one they already had (also never realized until now, the cows' closed eyes vaguely resemble the Pepsi logo)
Also I have no idea how anyone would've ever spotted the second Skull Kid "drawing" unless they had access to a cheat to fly around and see it
And thanks for clearing up why the rolls sometimes took forever to take off, I guess it should be obvious in hindsight the devs replicated how tires behave when you decide to floor it VS easing in with the acceleration before reaching top speed

Fun Fact: Usually, Link takes Damage when Using the Blast Mask, however, If he Shields, Without targeting, He Will be pushed by the Explosion but take no damage, As if it was a normal enemy he was shielding, Turning the blast Mask from a trade off Explosion To A Damage Free Infinite Bomb Source

If you change forms during bomber hide and seek, the bombers will still run away, but if you catch them they will tell you off and go back to regular walking until you go back to the form you started in

Did you know that when wearing the Fierce Deity mask, not only are you the coolest thing in any Zelda game ever, but you also have a greatly extended, floatier jump than usual. For some reason, the Fierce Deity form allows you to gain tons of distance just by jumping off a ledge, allowing jumps that normally can't be made to be possible. To actually see this, though, you need to perform a pretty simple glitch that allows you to become the Fierce Deity any time you are near a body of water that rises up to about chest height on Zora Link. But there are quite a few limits to where you can go. You can't access any of the four temples in this form, and you also can't play the ocarina. And the Fierce Deity form is so tall that he can't get in to some areas through normal means. For example, he's too tall to fit into the small entrance that leads to the Deku Palace in the Southern Swamp, and he'll get stuck in certain rooms because he's somehow tall enough to enter the door to these rooms, but too tall to exit. Plus, his sword beams don't affect most regular enemies (I've tried it on pretty much every enemy that I could fight with the places I could access with just the glitch, and none have been harmed by the beam so far), just passing right through them, as the damage parameters to hurt most regular enemies don't match the ones those of the in-game bosses.
Ledge jumps in Majora's Mask send Link into free fall as soon as he jumps off, instead of jumping a set distance based on his running speed like in Ocarina of Time. Since he goes into free fall in Majora's Mask, this allows Link to carry his forward momentum into his jumps giving him greater reach. Fierce Deity Link being so tall and so fast when he moves around gives him the longest jump in the game.
@@Nyxael5845 The bunny hood is much faster, but FD Link still can make jumps that aren't possible even with the bunny hood equipped, which is what is a bit confusing for me. Also, if you go a set distance in OoT, then why can you pull back mid-jump and start going backwards while in the air? I'm so confused now.
@@dominicbonogofski Because when Link is in free fall in both games, you can strafe forwards or backwards in the air while he falls down, but Ocarina of Time places a small restriction. When Link jumps off any ledge at full speed in Ocarina of Time, there is a small grace period where Link must jump a set distance before he is allowed to strafe again no matter how far back you pull the analog stick. Once he takes a jump you cannot strafe around for the first few frames of his jump until he starts to fall down this also applies to his backwards jump as well. If you change Link's running speed to higher values, he will gain more speed out of his jump but still has to land where the game tells him to.
In Majora's Mask, Link can jump off ledges and easily strafe forwards or backwards as soon as he leaves the ledge because the grace period was removed and Link is allowed to move in any direction as soon as he jumps off.

Ironically I was playing around on Majoras mask yesterday and snuck epona into clock town.
I like to think that the reason Zora Link’s electric barrier doesn’t work on Wall Masters is because they often drop magic refills, so maybe they’re immune to certain magics?
When they turn green they're basically immuned to everything, not just the Zora electricity!
Here's something cool there are hidden wasps in the wasp nests hidden in termina field. One nest inside hollow tree tunnel contains 3 wasps and Under boulder by Clock town's Eastern gate as 2 wasps.

God, I love this game so much. Best of the Zelda series. I know a lot about the game, but there's still stuff I find out to this day.
One thing I've always been curious on is the music in shops or in game rooms. In Ocarina of Time, it sounded like it was just background music. But in Majora's Mask, it sounds almost as if it's coming from a specific area and also the resample rate sounds lower as well. Is the music attached to an object rather than being actual background music so that it can sound like it is coming from different locations depending on where Link walks in the building?
The shop music is not considered an universal sound in Majora's Mask. It has a lower resample quality because it is supposed to sound as if it were playing out of a speaker.

You can get the Bomber's Notebooke earlier before obtaining the bow. Once you get the secret code try to memorize it. After you get the Deku mask, go to the path to the observatory and give the code to the kid that is blocking the path. Get in and get out, then the leader will make you a member, giving to you the notebook.
Maybe someone already knew it.
I can't fully remember but I think that's the intended way. They changed it on 3DS, the Happy Mask Salesman gives it to you.

For the Goron roll, you don't have to tilt stick, you can just roll from walking to get the high speeds in snow and sand.
sadly I don't think that's possible when starting the race to try to win the Gold Dust

(This is a repost as somebody left a negative response and I couldn't get rid of it without deleting my comment and starting over)
I never understood why the cow has that female voice. Anytime I hear the cow with that voice, the receptionist comes into my mind as I really feel like it is a voice the receptionist should have alone. Although Darling and the Treasure Chest girl are also fine with it, the cow seems like an odd choice. It's like Nintendo thought the cow needed another voice line so they gave it that one.
I also did not know about the Skull Kid's portrait on the grass outside the Astral Observatory. Maybe sometime, I'll do a Garry's Mod comic about it.
Thats some pretty cool glitch hack tricks in 64 version, when I get a new Nintendo 64 controller, am so gonna try one hack tricks along I watch this video.

Funny that they can put so much detail into a cow figurine that hardly anyone will notice, yet they can't bother to have NPCs react to a bomb blowing up literally right behind them. Not asking for too much, I think a simple ducking animation might've sufficed.
Things I now need to try in the game whenever I get the chance.

Actually found something recently. On the 3rd day if you have yet to save the North Mountain; the Goron elder actually dies. Either that, I can't find him.
Ones i got to glitch the game by saving and loading my file over and over again.
if you do this there's a way that you can get over epona being goron, deku or zora.
not sure how i made it back in the day, but it was fun to see epona on the saving point under the beach lab

I didn't even know the bombers could hide in crates. I learned quickly how to chase and kite them so the second I saw them I'd spin after them
My favorite is edging off the guard with Deku Link. I also think there is a glitch to use the Fierce Deity Mask outside of a boss room in the pool near the beach region in Termina field.
Glitching past the guard on the first cycle to grab the heartpiece on the road to woodfall is just an established part of my route now lol.
@@Wingforth Allows you to be more productive and get more mileage out of the three days rather than skip to the final day for the Skull Kid.
3:52 the floor masters are immune because they are not touching the ground. So the electricity doesn't hurt them!
Even if they weren't on the ground and it was possible, their green glow(wether they ram us or leeching our life, which is still rather nasty no matter where they grab us, IMO) prevents this.
But like I said about their leech attack: GROSS!

Wondering why those steps exist, since riding Epona in town doesn't seem to have any negative effects or major glitches.
Perhaps just the developers taking precautions that eventually turned out to be unnecessary. In OoT, Epona's actor simply wouldn't load on any maps that weren't designed for her to appear on, but MM doesn't seem to have such a restriction.
Your icon was just a sliver off of covering the sun perfectly in the end. Otherwise another fantastic video as always. i only recently found your channel and have been loving the content. The opening animation you used for the ocarina of time, turning the blocks into ruppes, might be my favorite 10 second intro ever. Keep up- the awesome work.
I feel like it's been enough years that the Sakon's hideout glitches are probably new to some people? In the original N64 release you can carefully roll into one of the sides of the entrance to Sakon's hideout, and as long as you do so anytime on the third day Kafei will be there. Then if you replace a mask you're currently wearing with the Fierce Deity's Mask while controlling Kafei, Link will transform into Fierce Deity
I think Kefei is always there, third day or no. But when you leave it will always progress to the night of the third day no matter how much time you spent in there.
@@Jotari it's been years but as I remember it, he wasn't there on the earlier days despite the fact that you can't access it early anyway. I don't have my old MM copy to check anymore though

What happens if you run into Sakon if you're riding Epona? Does he drop the bomb bag or blow up?
