That hidden door was actually taking you to the Adult Shooting Gallery. Maybe, the developers needed to have the door there, in both time periods to ensure that the warp works properly, and just hid it inside the pile of bricks to make it impossible to enter as Child Link through normal gameplay.
Yeah, same thing happens with stuff like jabu jabu. The loading zones are always present, but they’re blocked off by objects when you aren’t supposed to access them.
Probably true, when you glitch to the walls of the house that become the bazar in kakoriko you can acces in the kakariko bazar when you are child
thank you I was just about to comment that
It's a good example how the game was programmed. To save memory, they didn't duplicate most places. Instead, they load the objects and interactions depending on if you are child or adult Link when entering the place. Not sure how it works with Zora's domain but my guess is that even the thick pile of ice is just loaded into the place when entering as adult Link.
Yup
Been playing this game for almost 25 years and still learning little tidbits here and there. Trippy
Mostly here lol
@@titaniumtriforce643 very true
Same, I knew that the pillars outside Ganon's Castle were hookshotable but not the other spots in the video. I learned about the seeing through walls while rolling from watching people play randomizers. Still though I learn new stuff from these videos too.
25... Years...?
_curls up on floor_
*F U T U R E!*
I haven't even lived that long yet
1:00 In the Scandinavian instruction booklet, the Swedish version calls her Salia, the Danish calls her Saria.
And 4:00 That's not the castle town shooting gallery. That's the Kakariko adult shooting gallery.
The German version is also „salia“.
Regarding this, the Finnish instruction booklet refers Darunia as Darumia. All other Nordic languages were correct IIRC.
And it's not even a mistake in The booklet, the german translator decides it would fit better top call her Salia ingame. Maybe because of the softer tone of the L and the known fact about how Li or Ri is transcripted in Japan.
The Japanese name can be read as both Saria and Salia
@@Vextrove This is true. And either is fine. Being inconsistent is wrong, though, and that's the point here.
My guess for the first one is that the laugh is set to trigger at the start of a cutscene while in that cell. And it's overlapping with the warping cutscene.
your name is accurate.
@@KairuHakubi Probably...🤔
i think its actually a proximity thing
what "cell" ?
@@Phantron the physical location that is currently loaded in active memory.
Zfg found an interesting one a while back. You can’t use Nayru’s love in the windmill. It’s greyed out.
The reason? Probably because of what happens if you have it active and try to learn song of storms. (Activate it outside first)
This is only possible if you go through wasteland without lens (or more serious sequence breaks).
what happens? Oh i looked it up. it crashes!
.. seems odd to grey out that one item in that one area instead of simply fixing the bug..
@@KairuHakubi Sometimes, it is not worth fixing, just disabling. glitches are a fickle thing that can be hard to correct, like a missing bit makes text show backwards, but putting it back in and the whole scene just breaks, yet works just fine as a stand alone scene without the rest of the game.
@@KairuHakubi The fact that they disabled it means the bug was probably a nightmare for one of the devs. I bet Nayru's love or songs in general would have to be completely reworked. They also may have caught the bug near the final phase of testing.
5:18 Fun fact: this second hookshot target is also in Master Quest, skipping the puzzle to reach the exit (which is behind a fence).
Crazy to still be learning things about a game older than me
Yeah, most of details are really intresting...😅
1:39 if you Do this tricks in phantom Ganon room(before defeat him) you gonna saw him and the Horse under the floor
I've spent hours on multiple playthroughs trying to hunt down those goddamn Big Poes, and now you have the AUDACITY to tell me I could have just stood still the entire time!?!?!?
LMAO same 😂
I also didn't know this. ^^
I had known about the trick of seeing through walls. It's impressive the bombchu lady actually has a belly button on her model despite how you normally are not able to see it through normal means. Perhaps the game developers just wanted to make sure to add on all the details above the legs since they probably didn't know how much of the NPC's body the player would be able to see.
This same trick also works in Majora's Mask.
And I hope that minigame lady also has legs in Majora's Mask..? Otherwise how does she and the Mayor's receptionist move their hips in a.. rather suggestive way..?
@@adventureoflinkmk2 They both do have legs. I can tell you that much. It's also possible to get behind the Mayor's receptionist's desk by backflipping. It is also possible to see the receptionist's belly button just from standing on the table and looking down at her or even facing back to back from her in Deku form and holding Z. Although the former doesn't work as well on an emulator as her body just disappears when the camera is that close to her.
That's because Majora's Mask is an official ROM hack.
@@adventureoflinkmk2 I'd hope so considering the characters have lives in that one lol
Interestingly, all the legless shopkeepers were revamped in Majora's Mask to have legs.
this youtube channel is extremely good, I love how deep you get into details
Yes, that's why i subbed to this dude...
He's makes some good YT quality details from various video games.
I'm also doing similar things on my channel too! 😊
1:12 I love how he has the lettering green white and red for "Italian version" indicating the Italian flag 🇮🇹 very cool Easter egg in your video 🤪
I can't imagine having the patience to go over all the surfaces with the hookshot to find the latchable parts. Hats off to you, Looygi Bros.
I shot it at a ton of random places as a kid but I almost never found anything special.. i was way more niggardly with my arrows so I didn't know ANY of the special places where you can shoot an arrow to get rupees or somejunk.
they did not do that. there is a version of OoT called the practice ROM that allows to show collision on walls and you can just walk around and see hookshottable surfaces.
the spots shown in this video have been known for a long time now and were not found by the creators of this video.
Or he just searched though the game data for all surfaces marked as hookshottable.
@@FalconFetus8 This is not how it works. We have some insight into OoTs code n stuff, but the decompilation of the source code has just recently been finished and not yet cleaned up. It's not like "I want trick X so I search the code for part Y". Most of the glitches in OoT have been figured out by trial and error and the hookshot spots have most definitely been figured out by using emulator hacks / the practice rom to actually see collision. This is not an open source game by any means, the original source code is probably lost or scattered around nintendo servers so it's not as easy as you are trying to make it look like. Don't forget that this game's development started in like 1995, so there was little to zero backups for code, almost no consistency in code design and poor documentation.
@@Jahaay Yeah it's definitely more that this game has stuff available now to see what different collision is marked as. You don't have to use the practice rom (it's awesome though!!) but you can see what is marked as a loading zone, hookshottable, slippery, and even a void out like in the wasteland using emu tools to enable a collision viewer. They missed a couple in this as well, but is still cool trivia!
The door in the construction site is not Castle Town's slingshot shooting minigame, but rather Kakariko's archery shooting minigame (they are functionally different). Which makes sense, since the building site becomes that place in adult Link's timeline. The developers just hid the door.
The Tree in Kakariko Village has no collision with the Hookshot or the Slingshot/Bow
An overshooted overshight...😅
bonus fact mirror shield absorbs ganondorf's blasts. never knew that!
LoZ, for the most part, doesn't require limited use items to beat a boss, and they often have an easy then a hard way to beat the boss (the hard always being faster). Besides, you were trained that it absorbs Garudo magic fighting the twin Rosa sisters. I figured this on my own, but had a friend find out by accident by using the z targeting with a shield because the horizonal slash is fast and this made it more consistent, but his timing wasn't, so he would absorb and fire the faster volley back. However, didn't know till I saw in one of these videos, can knock it back with a bottle.
Fuck yeah fuck yeah, yeah fuck
On the back of the original gamebox, the word “environments” is misspelled as “enivironments”. I learned that from an old-school, now-defunct website.
i miss old websites.. why they gotta go away
2:23 'Winners don't cheat!'
*Hastily swaps Lens of Truth off C Button*
Amazing! In my next gameplay of Ocarina of time, i will use this cool tricks, excelent video friend, maybe "majora's mask cool things" just an idea for your vids.
A majoras mask one would be legendary
1:36 I was more interested in the fact that i never noticed that the windows are flying 😂
I'm guessing #1 is because the "warp away" animation is considered a cutscene to the game and the fairy's laughter is scripted to trigger ~3 seconds into a cutscene and the game just assumes the only cutscene that would ever play in there is the summon cutscene.
Never stop with these OoT vids please, they are so calming to me
For real. OOT for life!
What I noticed as child and didn't saw anyone mention is there is an ingame Screenshot on the cover that doesn't work. At least it's on the German package. Link is standing in front of the door of the Tempel of time as an adult, the door closed and all 3 stones placed. It may be during the cutscene when the doors open but Link shouldn't be an adult.
I’m pretty sure fact #11 also works with the biggoron sword, or maybe it’s the fight with beast ganon. I just remember using it as a kid and thinking beast ganon had a lot of health before realizing after a few minutes that you have to land the finishing blow with the master sword.
Ganondorf can be hurt by most things, but only defeated by very few things.
I was gonna say that. As a kid, I thought the Biggoron Sword was the better weapon to handle Ganon since it deals the most damage. I stood there hitting him for hours until I decided to use the Master Sword on another attempt.
Ah, the good old days when we got manuals, even if mistranslated...
I mean, new rune factory has one. Tunic _is_ one
More importantly, games mostly just started teaching you how to play.... Through the game itself thankfully. Manuals are kinda just wasteful, and actually can make the game unplayable if lost sometimes
Yeah...😅
Fun Fact: Mario Kart DS, has 2 mistakes in the instruccional manual bocklet.
1- on page 9, in early copies of the manual, perfom is misspelled as prfm.
2- In one the pages of items, the manual states the following: *Ink in all of the karts in front of you*
The mistake is that there's an unecesary "the" in the middle of the quote. This mistake was not corrected on later copies of the manual, though...
I don't know how much more you can really pick this game apart, but I love it and never get tired of watching these videos. Did you use Sharp Ocarina or something similar to find the hookshotable walls?
I think he used your mother to find all those hookshotable walls.
@@timurkral3781 That would be shocking if my own mother knew more about a game she never played than I do who has played it to death!
@@TommyViper so now you know nigga.
Actually the video is leaning too much on bugs/glitches. The game has a lot of ptogrammed details he hasn't brought up yet.
@@Refreshment01 yeah

Winners don't cheat!
But you bring the *Lens of Truth*
Hmmmm...
What a Winner
Man you are really running out of content... and by that I mean only 80% of this is stuff brand new to me instead of 95%. These videos are just outrageously good! Thank you so much for each and every one of them!
About the roll and seeing thru stuff.... That is awesome!
The Big Poes were the hardest part of Ocarina Of Time. Harder than any boss or quest or dungeon. The only thing I would not have by the end of the game was the last bottle!
3:30 so you can now see the arrow when you shoot doing a backflip
"Winners don't cheat!"
Me: *uses the Lens of Truth and wins*
Interesting that all of Ganondorf's platforms are destructible... makes me think they had a much trickier fight planned at first where those might get knocked out over time.
They do
They do get knocked down over time though
Zelda's lullaby can restore a broken sign if you cut it down. Discovered that one by accident. I was like what?! Lol
I can't wait for the 60 FPS PC version. I saw footage. It almost made me cry.
Thanks for the nostalgia and also skipping leg day with the iron boots is quite ironic
I may have said this already, can't remember, but the rolling first-person glitch (which works on 3DS too!) was very helpful to me. I work on Zelda Wiki and do a lot of image-capturing, and getting into first-person down low to the floor let me get some high-quality images that otherwise would have been partly cut off or poorly angled.
can you do videos like these for Majora’s Mask?
I wish I had known about the Poe's respawning after 10 seconds when I first played this! Haha. I spent so much time chasing those guys
I can't wait for BOTW 2 to came out, not only to play it, but I can wait for the new theories videos. I'm starving of content, keep it coming
Hahaha, the signs grew up, too!
the front facing z camera was a glitch i always did as a kid on accident at less-front-facing angles and loved, and always wanted to know how to perform consistently, but never knew really even in speedrun technique guides where to find/how to look up. this made my day, thank you!
In Majora's Mask, the Bombchu Operator does have legs.
As do most other NPC's behind desks.
1:00 That's not just in the manual she is also called Salia in the actual german game.
Really? 🤔
@@IvanFranco120 Yes
Glad you’re back I love this videos
Bro I can't believe still after all these year of many play thru's that your still finding these crazy details your the best
7:03 I’m guessing Ganon was meant to be able to knock them off at some point, making the fight harder
Ganondorf does knock them down, making the fight harder.
@@Sauraen Yeah, but the platforms are hard coded, in case of any kinda of explosion ocurrs. 😅
These did you know kinda videos, have had SO MUCH content that I didn't know. Now, some of it I did know, but I have learned ALOT in just these few videos that have been put out. Some have been funny little glitches and whatnot, but a GOOD CHUNK of it was very interesting and useful. Keep it up! 🙏🤗
Guillotine note: are you sure the other side isnt hookshotable? Looks like they just mirrored the mesh.
I love it when you post oot stuff
I have this terrible urge to go back in time and tell my 12-year-old self that, through some arcane and difficult sequence of actions, he can see the cute girl from Bombchu Bowling _completely bottomless!_
Love these videos. I'm always learning new things about Ocarina of Time
nono in european Salia was called that way because it sounds more female than Saria for many languages and origins of them. it's not an error, but on purpose
This is so cool!!!
I kind of knew about the rolling and camera... But didn't think anything of it. :(
That was pretty cool!
And the sign thing... That is awesome! I had no idea!!!
This channel is ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
For the door in Kakariko, is it really the Castle town shooting gallery and not the kakariko one? Since it is the same door but only normally accessable as adult, shouldn't it be the case that the npc for the adult shooting is just active there considering that you can never visit the Castle Town one as adult either?
Of course, but this RUclipsr has no clue about this game. Otherwise he would know that.
@@timurkral3781 And I suppose that you know every little detail about the game?
@@Selnathorn of course, I played the N64 and Gamecube Master Quest version and the 3DS Remake a couple of times! Nigga
@@timurkral3781 Thank you for confirming to me, that I don't need to take your comments seriously in any way, shape or form.
Truly incredible what a single word can tell once about a person
@@Selnathorn obviously you have no idea. There couldnt be a better answer for somebody who really knows Ocarina of Time
First video I've seen of yours and just gotta say, you had me hooked at the intro. Freaking awesome. Lol
Lol, you literally had the Lens of Truth equipped and didn't even think to use them to cheat, THAT'S how you cheat lol
This Videos are amazing i love ocarina of time its one of my Favorit zelda's of all time thats why iam so happy see new Things on it keep the Great work up
The thumbnail is spicy
Cool out of bounds trick with the Ganon castle door!
Learns new stuff in every new vid!
6:41 learned that one on my own when I used the hammer to deflect his beam, only for the floor to start falling!
0:44 this is not a translation error of the booklet. Her name is Salia in the actual game too.
But "Salia" isn't male so there is a translation error.
Her name is Saria
@@sasook Not in every version of the game. In german she is also written "Salia".
@@sasook Bro you need to imagine. It's 1998. The Internet was not really a thing. We didn't know she's called Saria. For us Europeans, she always was called Salia. Saria sounds so wrong.
@@pandurlolgg5780 not for all of Europeans. In the Italian version she’s called Saria, both in the game and in the book
Bombchu Bowling Alley Operator's belly is cute.
Been playing this game for 20 years and I never once though to shoot ganondorf with a light arrow while he’s charging his multiple attacks. I always just charged my spin attack and sent them all back to him. That’s pretty smart. I’m definitely going to use that now! Thank you!
The amount of tests required is insane!
These are awesome.
Thank you.
Thank you for this, I want to play this game all over again lol. I tried playing BOTW in 2021 after beating it in 2018 but I felt like it's too soon. I never feel that way with linear games though.
Awesome video!
It’s crazy that I’m learned something from all eight of these videos and the came lot 23 years ago
The great fairy isn't laughing, she's crying because you abandoned her
"Winners don't cheat"
>doesn't cheat
>loses
That Saria mixup has been the bane of searching for artwork of her. Good to know it's considered incorrect today!
Yet another great vid!
Salia?? Now imagine if our hero's name was Rink! LOL
How do you find these? Especially the hookshot ones?
Messing around...
2:08, what if the lense of truth is on when in that angle?
funnily enough, the hookshot spots in the 3ds version are visibly there 5:13
Okay, you got me. I didn't know about a typo in a version of the instruction booklet in a continent I don't live in, in a language I don't speak.
Your note about Saria’s name being incorrectly translated is interesting. I played an Ocarina of Time ROM hack that had Saria’s name (and the name of her corresponding song) spelled Salia (and by extension, her song being spelled Salia’s Song) and I thought it very odd. Perhaps there is a connection between the mistranslation that you point out in this video and the spelling used in the ROM hack.
“Winners don’t cheat”.
Comes back with a lens that can spot which chest has the key.
that roll trick is nearly essential when you're doing randomizer. Knew about this since early 2019
2:19 *Laughs in Lens of Truth*
How do you record the gameplay of oot I’ve been trying to figure this out but I don’t know how I have it on the GameCube
Ikr
It's likely hes emulating it on PC and just capturing it on OBS or whatever video recording software. If he's not, you can pretty easily run the AV output from the GameCube/N64/Wii into an AV->HDMI port, and then into a capture card. I've done it before for Melee.
1:02 As a European from Germany I can confirm that her name has always been Salia here. I only knew that her name was Saria in other languages because of a fanart I found of her.
if i had known number 7 that would have saved me so much pain and suffering
My Italian is crappy but I think it might be acceptable to call Saria his “miglior amico” in this case because it’s saying she’s his best friend out of a group of both boys and girls? Maybe an Italian speaker can confirm.
No, it should be “migliore amica” anyway :)
@@giadagiacherio Thanks!
I have been using #3 to see items locked behind objects in randomizers for some time now, allows me to note if I need to go back with the hammer or some other object to get that item or not.
3:55 i think that's because in the future, the shooting gallery moves to that place in kakariko. Did you check if the rupee sequence was fixed (child gallery) or random (adult gallery)?
I like how the great fairy one is the most rewatched part of the vid
0:41 every N64 collector is clenching their butt cheeks with concern as you turn those pages.
honestly. this channel is becoming super interesting.
Those were some cool things you discovered! The one you got the camera to focus on the front of Link, was that how you were able to showcase the backwards flip whilst shooting an arrow trick?
About first one - fairy laughed because this song is Serenade (of Water) and it's looks like Link played it specifical for her)
There's other hookshottable oddities in Ocarina of Time, in Dodongo's Cavern where you bomb the stairs, left side there's an invisible hookshot target up to the next floor. You won't actually be able to hookshot up, but it'll play a sound of it hitting something that you could hookshot to.
So, its an misplacement hookshot target? 🤔
You made a mistake about the Hookshot spots in Water Temple and Gerudo training camp. Use Eye of Truth to see them. Nintendo didn't forget them. They just made them invisible to give a tinsy reward to players who obtained Eye of Truth before Water Temple or Gerudo training camp.
That instruction booklet is beautiful
okay aside from saria bieng a guy, i knew most of this, but the fact that that door leads to the shooting gallery makes me think that because there is only ever 1 accessible shooting gallery at a time, if you could get adult link into child kakariko, it would lead to the adult shooting gallery, which is awsome to me
ahh the 90s gaming Booklets that came with every game back then...
In Forest Temple, you can see the elevator through the walls when seen after rolling
