Yeah, they just change the playback speed of the current music instead of having a separate sped-up version of the file. They do a similar thing in Twilight Princess when they play the sped-up version of the clown music.
7:00 wait a second, did BotW make a severely vague reference to this? iirc, even one of the Sheikah Stone gives the wrong instruction with the butterfly landing on the deku stick. I never could get it to work. I'm glad this videos shows the correct way!
Speaking of geometry, in one kokiri house, there are two pots modeled but only one rendered. This means if you position link correctly, you can make his face disappear (courtesy of VGFacts)
The ending also changes depending on Link's equipped shield. In the GC Collector's Edition, a single pre-rendered video is always used. You can use glitches to render the real dynamic ending, but it crashes. This is probably due to poor emulation quality and Nintendo just used the video instead of fixing the bug. They do something similar in Nintendo Switch Online using LUA scripts. For example, artificial lag is added in the Majora's Mask ending to prevent the emulator's inaccuracies from causing the game to be faster than the music.
"The third twin" ...So like... A triplet? Teasing aside, this was a great video. I never knew about the butterflies in Mario 64 and the bomb thing happened to me and confused me to no end. Glad that mystery is solved.
I have one for you: If you manage to get into gerudo fortress as a kid (via bomb jumping over the fence or backwalking over the sand pit), there is a small amount of content waiting for you. There's a guard at the gate to the haunted wasteland to talk to. Also, you realize that the hookshot obstacles are designed to prevent you from getting to the room above the pit, because you wouldn't be able to get out. Confusingly there is also a piece of heart up there that as far as I can tell is inaccessible. The membership card works, but if you don't have it, they'll throw you into the canyon instead of into the pit, which seems a bit extreme.

I wrote it off as one of those early internet fake cheats, but now I'm frustrated to know that you had to actually slowly walk. I just stood there with a stick for so long when I was a kid.

Its possible the reason why Link is sweating at Ganon’s collapsing tower exterior is because he is nervous of the situation. It would make sense since the pressure to escape the tower with Princess Zelda unharmed. It is hard to be a hero after all. Of course, this is the same animation as when in intense heat.
The whole castle is hovering above a large pool of lava so that could be a reasonable explanation too. Or the castle collapsing could be causing a lot of fires inside the place that Link can feel from outside.
@@videowatcher551 Not to mention he is probably exhausted. This claim can be backed up in Ocarina of Time 3D trailer when Link was fighting Ganondorf, you get to see him exhausted. One time I remember catching a huge fish in the fishing pond that was so big that it "couldn't fit in the screen" according to the owner. But I got disqulaified for it because I used a Sinking Lure, yet it was still on display in the fish tank.

The butterfly thing is something I knew about via a games magazine back in the day but never knew how to execute it properly! And because of this I thought it was a myth much like Mew under the truck. It also explains why I was convinced there was a stationary fairy near the castle! I must have done the trick without knowing, got the fairy to appear then when I went back expecting a fairy there was nothing there! It always made me feel that specific area of the castle grounds was special but it was just the butterfly trick all along. Also along with mario and Zelda, Spyro also has health giving butterflies.
Fishing off the hat brought back memories, I remember just throwing the fishing line at the fisherman out of frustration of not finding the sinking lure for so long. And with you showing how to properly turn butterflies into fairies, I would love to see if that lure is real or not.
The sinking lure is real, I've gotten it fairly consistently when I was about 8 years old by aiming for the hollow knot in the big tree in the middle of the pond. It's difficult to get but it is real and makes fishing so much easier for getting those enormous fish at the bottom
The lure is real, I've gotten it a few times. There are a few different places where it can spawn, apparently. On the tree in the pond that you can walk on, along the tiny river, and along the wall around the pond are the three areas I can think of off the top of my head. I also remember rolling to try to pick it up, but I don't know if that's actually required.
It is real. The 'talk about something' option when talking to the fisherman after paying to fish is for more than just random discussions. If you have the sinking lure, talk to the fisherman, and choose his option, his dialogue will be something similar to the first of his dialogues in the cycle for this, but Link either tells him about or shows him the sinking lure, and the fisherman reluctantly allows him to use it since he has it.
If I remember correctly Volvagia will skip his fire breath attack if you grab on to the side of the battle arena, it will just go right back into another hole. You’re also pretty much safe from the falling rocks if you stay there, too.
The Super Mario 64 reference is cool, hey there re also butterflies in Super Mario Galaxy and if you stay still near them, and then after a bit move again one will change colour or something, I love how butterflies are basically an iconic staple on Nintendo. 🦋⚔

I didn't know all the stuff that changes the credits, the hat from the fishing guy is funny, but the deku sprout not being there if you skip the forest temple seems kind of big actually.
Not sure if its an Easter Egg but if you play one of the warp songs on the ocarina and quickly hit No to warping before pulling out the master sword it plays out the song giving that cutscene an alternative feel/vibe
i remember seeing the butterfly fairy trick in a guide as a kid, but it said to stand still and wait for one to land on the deku stick. no wonder i could never get it to work
Dude, that Vendor, low poly blurry faced, no arm, no legged torso is a nightmare fuel. holy shit it was actually so freaking watching it as you zoomed in on it.
Ohh THAT's how you do it. I was told you have to try to touch a butterfly with the tip of the stick. no wonder that didn't work consistently. Okay, the ending changing based on things you do is something I didn't expect, but i'm REALLY amazed the deku sprout has to actually appear in the game before it can appear in the credits. That suggests it is actually loading those environments as-is, in whatever state your triggers have left them.
3:58 Another tidbit: the Fishing Hole Man is constantly itchy and it's heavily implied Hena, who owns the Fishing Hole in Twilight Princess, is a descendant of him as you can find an image of the Fishing Hole Man in her cabin and when she comments on it, she'll scratch her back as well.
I don't know if this has been covered, but a few I've noticed: Also in the N64 version (doesn't matter which one to my knowledge), YL's shield will either be the Deku Shield or Hylian Shield depending on what YL was last equipped with before drawing the Master Sword to go into the future 7 years. However, in the GCN version (I Think both the Collector's edition and Master Quest versions) and 3DS version, it's always the Hylian Shield because it's pre-rendered. I think, someone can verify these.
If you perform a Sequence Break to get Zelda’s Lullaby and Saria’s Song before the Fairy Ocarina is obtained (Navi Dive for example), Link will instead learn them with the Ocarina of Time.
That the OOT is the default model if none other can be loaded indicates hat the fairy ocarina was a fairly late addition. Makes sense too, since it's used like...three times(?) in the story before being replaced.
Ending sequence: The ending also reflects the status of both Links equipment. I.E.: If child link burned the wooden shield, he will show inly with sword in his back when leaving the master sword.
Most of it. The textures on the Hyrule Town NPCs might be different, I guess, and they might be more fully modeled. And there are no pre-rendered backgrounds in the 3DS version, so that bit about the geometry behind them in the N64 version doesn't really apply, though the rooms layouts are the same. But the wrong warp still works, the fishing hat thing works, the Deku Stick fairies work, and I'm pretty sure the end cutscene still borrows the in-game models and runs in real time
3:25 I’m also reminded of the orange butterfly from the Kirby games that absorbed Galacta Knight - THE most powerful warrior in the universe - and transformed into Morpho Knight, an even DEADLIER variant of Galacta Knight. What is it with Nintendo and butterflies?
Imagine that the 3rd twin is still alive because time never advanced in the town for him, so he never knew the town died. He was stuck in time until he left town to attend the festival.
Hmmm... Didn't you mentioned about the Dying Soldier after Zelda escaped with Impa from the Hyrule Market. And if you want to comeback to the Hyrule Castle into the secret passage when Zelda and Impa are gone, the Soldiers aren't playing around.
Finally i found some one else who was wondering about the triplet in the window. Never found something on the internet before. My first thoughts about him were that thats the father of the twins.

Also in the N64 version (doesn't matter which one to my knowledge), YL's shield will either be the Deku Shield or Hylian Shield depending on what YL was last equipped with before drawing the Master Sword to go into the future 7 years. However, in the GCN version (I Think both the Collector's edition and Master Quest versions) and 3DS version, it's always the Hylian Shield because it's pre-rendered.
I think, someone can verify these.
Did you know anju and kafei represents jamie and james from team rocket
The way you put the market vendor at the end…classic
If you perform a Sequence Break to get Zelda’s Lullaby and Saria’s Song before the Fairy Ocarina is obtained (Navi Dive for example), Link will instead learn them with the Ocarina of Time.
If you pull out Fairy Ocarina as adult, it's blue like OoT.
That the OOT is the default model if none other can be loaded indicates hat the fairy ocarina was a fairly late addition. Makes sense too, since it's used like...three times(?) in the story before being replaced.
@@lpfan4491 Four, but it's actually something you never realize since you always get the Fairy Ocarina upon leaving the forest the intended way.
Wait! There's a flying carpet in ocarina of time? How did I not know this
4:40 What are those Kokiri kids doing with that Song of Storms guy? I never notice that before!
Ending sequence: The ending also reflects the status of both Links equipment. I.E.: If child link burned the wooden shield, he will show inly with sword in his back when leaving the master sword.
Best outro so far, easily
In Majoras mask, the signs change height each morph
Do all these cool things you shown us work with 3Ds versions of the games?
Most of it. The textures on the Hyrule Town NPCs might be different, I guess, and they might be more fully modeled. And there are no pre-rendered backgrounds in the 3DS version, so that bit about the geometry behind them in the N64 version doesn't really apply, though the rooms layouts are the same. But the wrong warp still works, the fishing hat thing works, the Deku Stick fairies work, and I'm pretty sure the end cutscene still borrows the in-game models and runs in real time
These are great videos. Thanks 🙏🏽
I like how the Market has proper steps for stairs.
Wow nice video and thanks for the nightmares fuel at the end bro😃😨😴
5:06 I didn’t even know it was possible to beat OoT without completing the Forest Temple.
In the original & 3dz versions the game just checks for the spirit and shadow medallions to make the rainbow bridge.
The ending is legendary!!!!!!!
Imagine that the 3rd twin is still alive because time never advanced in the town for him, so he never knew the town died. He was stuck in time until he left town to attend the festival.
Does the carpet bend to weight under other items like bombs?
Hmmm... Didn't you mentioned about the Dying Soldier after Zelda escaped with Impa from the Hyrule Market.
And if you want to comeback to the Hyrule Castle into the secret passage when Zelda and Impa are gone, the Soldiers aren't playing around.
The fishing hole guy actually just suffers from male pattern baldness, not alopecia. As someone with alopecia I’d know. :)
The warp skip creates an alternate timeline where the Great Deku Tree Sprout was never born.
Subscribed.
Finally i found some one else who was wondering about the triplet in the window.
Never found something on the internet before.
My first thoughts about him were that thats the father of the twins.
I love the Zelda franchise 😍
I was so hoping the fishing man part was a segue into a Keeps sponsorship lol it would have been perfect!
