Bill Hader Reveals All the Things Seth Taught Him at SNL - Late Night with Seth Meyers
/ latenightseth Приколы
"Bader, like…Hader." Okay, I actually did laugh at that.
I thought he said like "hater" lol
Mind Flowers why would it be hater? The point was that Bader rhymes with Bill’s own surname.
@@yosoyconsuela I thought he said Hater. Must be the American pronounciation.
@@yosoyconsuela The point is also that the name "Hader" sounds almost the same as "hater".
In essence, all comedians are assholes because partly, if not all the time, you're going to make fun of someone. Even someone deserved it, or is in good sport, it can hurt. I think sometimes comedians don't make that realization, or care.
Seth (along with John Mulaney) really is one of the sharpest writers SNL has ever had. He's translated that beautifully to his Late Show and cemented a fact (that originated with Conan): writers can make FANTASTIC comedic performers, given the right format.
This shows why Seth was such a prolific writer, and why he was the head writer for SNL for so long. Very knowledgeable and he can predict much better than most people how a sketch will play out.
I wonder if the plan is to sustain this dialogue indefinitely. Are there enough resources available for that? It must be exhausting.
This comment gave me dejavú
Also he is likely condescending to those less knowledgeable - See Macdonald, Norm
@@dsroaddogg I'm sure Bill is too. In a cast of 15-20 they're constantly trying to be recognisable, every week.
Amen
if you had bill hader on every night i wouldn't complain tbh
i would have bill hader on every night too
Bill Hader and John Mulaney, on Seth’s show, forever please.
This has been true for over half a decade
Seth's show is sometimes like an After Special of SNL (I'm not complaining)
mikecantreed Why? I think Chris should host most of my favorite aftershows
Jonida Sanço i like it that way
And it's awesome that way 😍
The early months were definitely a SNL reunion, now it's more of a political show. Which is fine! But I still enjoy when SNL cast mates come on, cause it doesn't feel like a talk show. More like two old friends catching up.
Figs3 yes a catch up we get to eves drop on!! 😂👏🏻 I love it!
Bill actually nailed his Seth Myers impression. Nicely done.
After they been on snl for years 😂
“Whatever, Seth Meyers, what do YOU know?” 😂😂😂😂😂
1:18 I love how they both lean forward and backwards when they laugh
Been going through all Haders late night interview this man is funny af
Oh cute little nonstop-super-giggles Seth
If Bill drinks, they should definitely do a Day drinking with Bill and Seth.
Shelby Zealand he doesn’t (he mentions it John Mulaney on a 92Y talk, who coincidentally is also sober) but you’re right that would be hilarious
@@probablypossessed2075 It would be just as fun to have Seth get piss drunk while Bill just hangs out sober watching him get drunker by the minute
when Bill Hader does the hat on a hat motion at the end it kills me every time I watch this. these two should do a movie together, they have such comedic chemistry!
I love Seth's laugh. So adorable. I really hope his show lasts!
Did it last?
I wonder how many of you are there? Clearly there is bound to be more of me who think so. Is this a sustainable model or are you just going to run out of resources? Is there like a time period that needs to pass where you hand the story to a different team of writers? Can it be organically transferred without the audience noticing? I don't think so. I think people are always testing out the fences looking for weaknesses. Time will tell.
2019 here...yes, it lasted! Yay!
2020 and going strong!! Hope this lasts years more
It’s looking good! 😍
I have always been a huge fan of the innerworkings of SNL so i'm really thankful that seth has folks on who can tell stories from 8h!!
BILL HADER MY LOVE
I love the fact that even if he doesn't really do the voice of Seth when he tells the story he still does the hand gesture.
Their relationship is so cute 😂
ok moment of applause for Bill including the phrase "hat on a hat" in Barry season 2 episode 2 at exactly 1:55 into the episode, I actually love Bill Hader, dope nod to Seth on the show!
👏
Also 👏 for sharing that here.
Seth Meyers, you meant?
That’s one of my favorite interactions in the show.
@jeffn9952 lol yes thanks I fixed it, Seth Cohen is a fictional character from the show the OC lmao
Hader stares into the comic zone while talking to people. He has a special gift, as he actually visualizes stories and humor as he retells them.
Hader is the best.
Haa Seth and Bill (Stefon) are married in SNL and Stefon is pregnant now
Jonathan SK It's so clever and funny how the actors literally have different chemistries for different characters. Stefon and Seth are so believable as a couple, yet Bill and Seth are also so believable as friends. So much talent! :D
can u get pregante
RUclips is only adding to my Bill Hader phase and I'm not complaining
Hopefully this clip is your icing on the cake (if you so choose). In other olds, Conan used to interview his siblings.
That "Bader like Hader" like is GOLD
Love these two together the difference between Jimmy and Seth... jimmy would have done a small stefon skit with him on the show and it would have rocket just like rap battle with justin
Yessss iv been waiting for this moment!!! Absolutely in love with bill hader. So talented and funny!!Snl is not the same without him. Hope to see him do more and more things, he deserves all the success.
"You were very nice... but you were a bit of a dick." True friends 😆😆😆
I miss this guy..
i fucking love this guy
They have so much fun on this show, I love it
Can Seth please do a podcast that's nothing but current and former SNLers swapping war stories??? Because I'd listen to that ENDLESSLY.
Dana Carvey and David Spade have a podcast that's already that.
i'd love to see them both in a movie someday! hader + wiig was amazing btw
how can anyone hates this guy! he's freaking awesome!!
we need a Bill and Seth show. I would watch every episode
It has been borne out through his underlings, who’ve become famous, that Seth could be a bit of a dick as a boss but he somehow managed to avoid being hated as he was also wonderfully charming, supportive...and funny.
Who else and also where can I watch the talk about it?
@@moratalks6122 See the first couple minutes of this interview with Rachel Bloom, who was an intern at SNL. The thing I like - maybe this is where the charm comes in - is that Seth totally owns it - both making fun of himself, and completely backing up her story (which isn't all that bad anyway.) He runs into it, not away from it...
ruclips.net/video/aQYgdDFNBr0/видео.html
@@svyt Firstly, Bill was joking. He and Seth go back and forth and back again a long way. And I was watching an interview with Mulaney or maybe Hader several months ago who said that Seth made the writer’s room a really cool place to work. But part of Seth’s job was to decide whose sketch made it through to that week’s show, so there were probably ruffled feathers from time to time.
@@lstapes7 Yes. Seth and Tina Fey made the writers room friendly. Before them it was really nasty. And after them it’s because a bit nasty again.
bills rockin a fresh jacket
It's nice when some cast members actually follow the news once and a while.
can bill be on seth’s show every week
Stefon ferever
A perfect mime from Seth 😂 Physical comedy at its best. And perfect storytelling from Bill 😂
love this show Seth is awesome
" You're very nice but you are bit of a dick." Bill Hader everybody😂😂
His new movie is wonderful
At least Anthony Carrigan got to own 'hat on a hat' on Barry.
You guys are so funny. :D
Their chemistry is pure gold
love this guy
I watched the cold open they were talking about!! He and Kristen as his wife were so funny 😂
This video never fails to make me laugh lmao
Oh this is absolutely priceless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Philadelphia USA
Hader + meyers = justin + jimmy
Anmol Tripathi no because Hader is not a popstar.. You dont get how comparisons work.
Kelly Damon I think he's saying that both duos are best friends, not that one's a pop star and the other is a talk show host.
+Kelly Damon the comparison flew right over your head, didn't it, sweetie? 😄😂
your my hero. Mader & Jimberlake 4lyfe.
+Anmol Tripathi But where does Samberg fit in to that biz?
Natalie's Rap with Seth Meyers is pretty funny.
Seth is weirdly tan. Why is it that everyone that gets a new show get super tan, and Conan is still pale white? Or maybe that is him with a tan.
BILL HADER AWESOME ON LATE NIGHT WITH SETH MEYERS !!!
Please have Bill Hader on your show when you return Seth!!
Bill's Seth impression is so awesome
This is a good example to show, you never know who will your friends are going to be in the future 😂
bills smile reminds me of Charlie from SPN ❤️✨❤️🥰✨❤️
what even is seth's laugh from 0:40 to 0:50
i noticeeeed hahaha i was looking for this comment
And then years later Bill wrote in the "hat on a hat" line in a scene in Barry 🥰 I love Seth and Bill sm
Hat on a hat, great term.
Every time I've seen a youtube video that was a parody of something that was essentially already a parody/satire, I've pointed it out as an explanation of why the video sucks only to be flamed (if you just look up "lazy sunday parody", you'll know exactly what type of videos I'm talking about). I'm glad to now know that there is an official term for why a parody of a parody is stupid.
love the tempo of the speech
Look look, it's The Meyers!
seth and stefon meyers everybody
Still waiting to find out who Eliot Spitzer is.
It’s impossible to think this same fella is Stefon but he is xD
Lorne Michaels has an absurd eye for talent.
@1:31 In one episode of #BillHader 's Barry (HBO), NoHo Hank mentions 'hat on a hat'.
There should be a behind the scenes/backstage at SNL show.
First time I see Seth laugh, a little weird and cute.
Come back to SNL!!!!!
He is, albeit only as host, on this very night!
Oh my goshhhh just make out alreadyyyyyy
Actually, Bill's entire audition was one long hat on a hat. And he was hired.
hat on a hat
This video is on a playlist called "The Parks and Recreation Cast Answers Fan", why?
I really hope he will be joining Twitter
his would be the best-est
yas for real-est
Hader should be hosting that show....
Hader has severe anxiety disorder. Even doing each short sketch as Stefon made him nervous to the end, he said. What he does as Barry is terrific, and he can do multiple takes. No judgment on his talent, which is top notch, but trying to do what Seth does wouldn’t work. I also have severe anxiety disorder, which is quite limiting at times.
Somebody tell Bill Hader to stop looking so cute.
watched
Remember
look the wingspan of Hader -- this is a MAN -- he's is one hot MALE who happens to be very funny and a great mime--he's gorgeous and charming
You can literally put a hat on a hat in the video game Hatris.
It's unclear whether or not Alexey Pajitnov was being ironic when he created the game as a follow-up to Tetris. I wouldn't put it beneath him (the humility it would require, that is), but does the expression even exist in his native Russian?
Can anyone explain to me why this is a hat on a hat situation? I try to understand the term and it seems like a really good example (from the story) but I couldn't get it
Both of these so HOT!
Wait someone please explain the hat on a hat thing.
miat789 It’s when you’re making a joke out of a joke...like if someone made a music video parodying a Weird Al video. Weird Al in itself is already a parody, adding another funny thing on top of it doesn’t make sense.
How does a clip, like this, get dislikes? I mean, seriously, how could anyone have a problem with this? Ruth Ginsburg fans? Help me out, here, who does this?
1st comment. One millionth view!
i feel like seth is better as a behind-the-scenes guy. as in, head writer for snl.. this, not so much. but then what do i know
Try now. Five years, an insurrection, and Covid have made Seth into a great host.
You can tell Hader hated Seth back then
How.? Because he had some sass and snark? They are both comedians. It comes with the territory. Besides, who would be friends with someone they didn’t like for 10 years, long after their role in the show is over? Don’t take everything literally.
@@lstapes7 I would rephrase by saying : "If I empathise with Hader and his stories a bit, and Myers being the confident chap he was, and an already important snl cast member by the time Bill got there, and Bill having confidence issues about doing the LIVES, I'm getting the feeling that he didn't like him too much, based on Myers' judgment of his abilities back then." But yes, like a lot of things in my life, I might be wrong. It's just the intial feeling I got by watching this interview. Clearer ? Or do you need a better explanation of my theory ?
0:43 you can see Seth is fake laughing
Bill Kasey.
I know that Lorne Michaels isn't going to be there forever and most likely ending his tenure with SNL soonish. I just hope it continues on with someone who knew the ins and outs of the place. Seth, Higgins, Tina fey, Mulaney... I just feels he needs someone young to pass the baton to. What you guys think?
Can we just. Marry Bill
Yes. All of us can, collectively.
Not really familiar with SNL slang. When he says "it died" is that good or bad?
It's bad. It means that it tanked.
Melissa Mercer Thanks!
You don't have to be familiar w/ "SNL slang" to know that death is bad :/ Sorry if I'm being a bit of a dick...got inspired by this clip :)))
@@violeta585 "It died" is bad. But "She/he killed!" is very good!
What's up with his left eye ?
Brown Dynamite haha yeah he has always had this crazy left eye thing
make 9 hours
Zero Symposiums

"Hey this is kind of a hat on a hat, buddy."

Wait, so SNL hires people for their comedic ability and not for their political knowledge? I thought their political background was 90% of the hiring criteria.
You should teach a class on writing comedy.
