Hi Louise, Thanks for this refreshing tutorial! I have one question, is there any way we can reorder the task cards? I've been trying to move it, but it didn't let me. I mean, we can move cards in our other projects. I appreciate your help.
Hey Jen! Yes, you can move the cards 🙂 In the bar that goes across the top of the cards, there should be a button for "sort" - to be able to drag and drop them, you'll have to have the sort feature turned off (or Asana will keep trying to sort by your desired "sort" option)!
Hey Peggy! I don't have a video on this on my RUclips channel, but I do have a course called Uplevel With Asana where I teach how to use Asana - including an entire module on the premium subscription 🙂 You can learn more on my website, here: www.uplevelwithasana.com/website
Thank you for the excellent video! Our 20 employee company is just getting started with Asana, which we chose because it integrates with Slack, which we already use extensively. However, the Slack accounts are all set up using different personal emails. Corporate only assigns company domain emails to managers and owners. (We are part of a franchise.) Any tips on how to best set up Asana given the different email types?
Hey there! You could invite the users as guests in Asana instead 🙂 They wouldn't have all the same features as the admin(s) who have the business emails, but this way they would still be able to access your Asana projects using those emails!
Hi Louise Henry I am Virtual Assistant in asana. I have 3 years experience in it. There are many products that we upload to the WordPress website and when we upload the pdf file to WordPress and we update the task and make its mark. I have a lot of experience in it. If there is a job please let me inform. Looking forward to hearing back
Hello Louise, great video thanks! I had a question, towards the end when you were showing the calendar views I noticed that you don't see Saturday or Sunday and on mine its the same way. I tried adjusting my Zoom and that did not help. I did not see a slide bar either, do you have any input on that? Thanks again
Hey Christopher! If you select "month view" or "week view" in the top bar, you'll see a little drop down appears and then you can turn weekends on or off from there! If you turn them on, then you'll be able to see them. I hope this helps 🙂
I have a team of 2. Is there anything in particular you'd recommend for super small teams of 2 when using Asana? I think that might be a good video topic if you could make it.
Hey Lorelai! My best recommendation would be to continue using Asana as a team, regardless of the size 🙂 Assigning tasks, assigning due dates, commenting on tasks for updates - these are all things that are really helpful when working as a team! We also love turning on the appreciation feature to appreciate each other when a task is complete 🙌
Hey louise My Question is if there is a schedule overlap of any team member so ASANA indicate this problem or not? 2ndly is there any option for adding material resources or budgeting of the activity Thanx...
Hey Shahmeer! Asana isn't a scheduler, per say, but you could attach this to another calendar where you are tracking the schedules of your team members (and seeing if there are any overlaps). Also, you could add resources to any project and/or task! You can attach a file, document or photo! I hope that helps!
Hi, really nice and clear-to-use video. Question: You can see all tasks together by the colors, but, can you do the same with the Boards? Let's say I have 4 boards - 1, 2, 3, 4, and each board is the project for itself with certain dates. And inside of the boards, I have tasks, but now I just want to have an overall view of the Boards (actually smaller projects inside of the big project) and their dates, without particular tasks. Basically to see the overall board by the Calendars/Timeline. Thank you in advance. Have a great one
Hey Ana! I'm not quite sure I understand what you're looking for here, so I may need clarification! However, you may be able to do this with sections in your project, and have each section be a "smaller project" inside of the larger project 🙂 You can also sort the board by different features such as due dates, alphabetical, assignee and likes! I hope that helps clarify!
Can you make tasks show up every week? Like if I need to post something on Facebook every Tuesday and maybe send a report to a client every month on the 1st can I get those reminder tasks and put links in there to the fb page and things like that?
Yes, absolutely! You could either create each date as a new task (and then add your links/notes in the description of the task), or you could use Asana's recurring task feature! The task will only show up on the first date, and then once you mark it complete it will populate to the next date you've set it to! I hope this helps!
Hi Louise, do you know of any way to "auto populate" in Asana? For instance if I have an effective date in two places, is there a way to mark a FIELD that when I update in place, it automatically updates the field in other spots where it is listed?
You may be able to do this with Asana's rules feature! You can learn more here: asana.com/guide/help/premium/rules 🙂 (Note: You'll have to be on the premium plan to use rules and automations!)
Hey Loreto! I think Asana could absolutely help with teacher planning - you may even be able to find some free templates online that could help with this! 🙂
I recently started using Asana desktop on my PC, and have been using the “Private Notepad” widget on the homepage to create lists not associated with specific tasks or projects. When I’m on the go I use Asana on my iphone, but now cannot find where the Private Notepad is! Is this accessible on the mobile app?
Hey Alex! Unfortunately, this feature is unique to Asana desktop and those notes aren't available on mobile! It looks like this is a feature Asana is considering though, so hopefully it's something that becomes available soon 🤞
I don’t understand the difference between a regular email or a customs domain. If I make up a custom domain how will this program be attached to my regular email? Or are you saying we to first create a custom domain just to use with Asana?
Hey Arthur! A custom domain email would include your custom domain in it. For example, email@arthurrobinson.com (where arthurrobinson.com is the custom domain). Regular emails will end with @gmail.com, @hotmail.com, and so on. It would be a separate email, separate from your current email (you would have to login separately). If you have already purchased a domain for a website, you should be able to create this for free! Also, you don't need to create a custom domain email to use Asana - you can use a personal email - however, you can unlock access to the "teams" feature if you do! I hope that helps clarify 🙂
Hey Jessica! I've definitely integrated with other apps before 🙂 I just took a look at this, and I believe that you could accomplish this integration with the tool Zapier! I hope it works for you!
Here's where I'm super confused ... ok so Marketing Calendar is the name of your team?? Course launch is the name of the task?? Isn't "Create a Landing Page" a sub-task of "Course Launch"? So confused sorry hope that makes sense
(What a brazilian name :) ). I'm not Louise, as you noticed but I'll try to help you out. It might be confusing at the beginning. The TEAM is Demo Asana ( left corner), Marketing Calendar is the PROJECT, Course launch is the SESSION and Create a Landing Page is the TASK. A sub-task would be something like Write copy or Edit the photos. Hope it's helpful.
Hi Louise, thanks for your video, I'm starting using asana, and I'm kinda lost on how to block the dates like for holidays or absences. If you could give me some tips on how to do it, I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance :D
Hey there! While we can't "block" dates as we could on a calendar, I simply enter them in as a task and then have the "due date" set to the date that this is happening on 🙂 Alternatively, if you wanted to block your times a bit more, you could integrate your Asana with Google Calendar (or another calendar) and this would allow you to send information between the two, including blocked dates!
Hey there! I have step-by-step guides for how to set up your Asana and set your projects in my course, Uplevel With Asana 🙂 You can find out more about that on my website louisehenry.com/
Why is there no way to create folders in Asana to organize all of your to do lists or projects? I am getting so many that they really need to be organized into folders and I'm can't believe they left out this very important and crucial feature. Once you start getting a ton of projects you have to weed through them all to find the one you're looking for. Being able to organize them into folders seems very necessary at this point. I absolutely love Asana but if I can't find a solution I'm going to have to switch to something else. Is there any way to do this in Asana? If not, is there another similar to do list program that has an option to put your projects or to do lists into folders?
Hey there! I completely understand that! That would be a great idea! I actually organize this by the Teams feature (so all of my sales and marketing projects are under a "sales and marketing" team, for example) 🙂 So I would try using the teams as your folders and see if that does the trick for you!
Hey, I wonder why it only allows teams with a custom domain name. I've been wanting to organize projects. Is it possible to change my email after I've already set up and got started?
Hey Sarah! Yes, it is possible to change your email! So you could start with a gmail account, for example, and then switch your email and there is a spot in the back-end (admin console) of your Asana where you can select "convert to an organization" to unlock those features when you have a business email address 🙂 I hope that helps!
Hi Brandon! Yes, they should! They will likely also notice this the next time they login to their account, as that person's icon/profile picture will no longer be at the top or under any teams!
Ask me any of your Asana qs here!
I signed up for Asana using my normal email, is there a way to switch it to my domain/google suits email?
@@Einalem28 Hey Melanie! Yes, you can do this under the "admin console" 🙂 In some cases, you may need to reach out to Asana support and just let them know you're wanting to change this over and they can do that for you!

@@parakletushubnigeria4044 Here you go: ruclips.net/video/f5UD-ljwgpc/видео.html 🙂 Enjoy!
Ok great, thanks for the help on that!
Thank you so much, this was really helpful and easy to follow. I have already subscribed. :-)
Woohoo! I'm so glad to hear this Michaela 🙌 Welcome!!
This is a great introduction!!!
Thank youu!!
Happy I could help!! 😊 I hope you enjoy using Asana!
Hey louise
My Question is if there is a schedule overlap of any team member so ASANA indicate this problem or not?
2ndly is there any option for adding material resources or budgeting of the activity
Thanx...
Question:
You can see all tasks together by the colors, but, can you do the same with the Boards?
Great video, thanks - can I export my boards from Trello to asana? if yes, how?
Hey Nick! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! This is possible using the tool Migrator.xyz: asana.com/apps/migrator-xyz 🙂
@@louisehenry Thank you !
Super helpful thank you.
Woohoo! I'm so glad it was helpful! 🙌
Hello! I wanted to know if Asana can also help teacher planning. Greetings from Latin America!
Hey Loreto! I think Asana could absolutely help with teacher planning - you may even be able to find some free templates online that could help with this! 🙂
Hi is there a way you can schedule tasks by the time in a day eg 11.00-12.00
Hi Julie! You can set a time that the meeting starts, just not an end time! 🙂
Asana and Miro are the best thing since the internet was invented
I agree! 🙌🏆
@@louisehenry thanks 👍
Great short video 👍🏽! Can you take notes in asana? TIA!
Hey! You can! I keep all of my notes in my Asana which makes them so easy to find 🙌
@@louisehenry thanks a lot!
Nice one LOU
Thank you! 🥰
I liked it, really important.tkx
I'm so glad that you enjoyed the video 🙂 Thank you so much!
Wondering if you have integrated any others apps with asana? I would like to add square so all my orders add right into asana from square?
Hey Jessica! I've definitely integrated with other apps before 🙂 I just took a look at this, and I believe that you could accomplish this integration with the tool Zapier! I hope it works for you!
Great intro, nice flow
Thank you so much! 🙂
Dear dose Asana can be concerned as a skill ?
It depends on how you're looking at it, but I think so! 🙂
Hey Rita! Yes, Eduardo has me covered here! 🙌 I hope that helps clarify!
@@louisehenry Thanks for your reply. have a great day!!
I am yet to start Asana for law profession. Can I get step by step guideline here? Best wishes.
Hey there! I have step-by-step guides for how to set up your Asana and set your projects in my course, Uplevel With Asana 🙂 You can find out more about that on my website louisehenry.com/
So well explained. 😊
Happy I could help! 😊
Love the way you teach :)
Yay!! I'm so glad 😊
How is it different from Notion?
Are tags only for paid versions? Thanks
No! Tags are also available on the free version, too 🙌
Why is there no way to create folders in Asana to organize all of your to do lists or projects?
@@louisehenry I can't figure out how to do that. Is that a premium feature?
Excellent presentation
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! 🙂🙌
Will the admin receive a notification either email/ asana inbox if a member leaves an organization or a workplace?
Hi Brandon! Yes, they should! They will likely also notice this the next time they login to their account, as that person's icon/profile picture will no longer be at the top or under any teams!
From one video i learned so much damn
Yay!! I'm glad it was helpful 💕
Super helpful, Louise! Thanks for posting. (--Beth)
Happy to help Beth!! xx
