I can't tell you how helpful this video will be to me when I'm ready to setup my CrossFire Pro. Thanks a million for taking the time to make this GREAT step-by-step video!!
thank you for the video. EXTREMELY frustrated and disappointed with Langmuir for not providing an instruction manual / user guide after dropping $4,000 on a table. idk how but even still following along your video i assembled my frame wrong. 23:40 when you go to add the rails, ive got my bolt protruding from the top of the black frame... gonna have to disassemble and start all over again. ridiculous. the forum is the one saving grace for the company and i can understand NOW why it is such a useful resource... cuz langmuir themselves couldnt care less it seems.
25:39 my carriages do not fit on the tube. instructions nor you mention if you need to loosen prior to putting on but at 31:30 you are adjusting the carriage for seemingly the first time.
29:14 again, your x/z carriage just goes right on no problem. mine wont fit and i can not even access the set screws being the lower bearings to adjust this fit.
Thank you, yeah sometimes responsibilities get in the way of all of the fun stuff we want to do. I have some pretty sweet mods to install and a ride this weekend so there should be no lack of content for a while.
I enjoyed your narrative very much. You do a great job and very complete. I have watched a lot of videos on the Langmuir Crossfire Pro as it is the model I want to purchase. A lot of owners have tig welded the two halves together
You only need to hold the white ring on the lead nut down while you start the lead screw. After the lead screw is started, the ring will stay behind the end of the lead nut. It holds pressure on the end of the lead nut to prevent it from slipping.
Well done, good info. I'm way behind you in my fabrication journey but looking to get a Crossfire Pro in the next few months. My shop electric is ready, I've had a Hypertherm 45XP for a couple of years, I need to find a bigger air compressor though. Don't apologize for asking folks to subscribe, the worst thing we can do is nothing. Keep up the good work!
I need more power in my barn to be able to run my big compressor and plasma cutter at the same time but I’ve been using my cheap harbor freight compressor and connecting it to my big 60 gallon compressor (without plugging the big compressor in) and it has worked amazingly well. You’ll love the crossfire. I use it all the time. I’ve started using it to cut parts for my work. I’m in the process of creating an LLC so I can get paid to make parts for them. Thanks for your support!
We've missed your videos. Always happy with your enthusiasm. Not sure how you have the time to do what you do. We love your projects , even though my artistic ability is somewhere between stick people and crayons. Also, was thinking releaseable zip ties might be a bit more durable and practical instead of the Velcro
Thank you so much. I really appreciate it. Those zip ties would be a great idea. Sometimes I would like to use the plasma cutter off of the table and that would be really quick and easy.
Im so impressed with your video I am thinking about purchasing one of these but looking to extend it to 8x4... Just an idea why dont you tig your trays together it might be cheaper than having one made. Thanks once again.
I’m not set up to for stainless right now. I also didn’t really like the self tappers in the bottom of the tray. I wanted to make a tray with some angle clips so it won’t have holes in the tray other than the drain. It’s a good idea. I should probably modify the existing tray to be cheaper. The 4x8 would definitely be cheaper. I don’t make much of anything that’s really long that I needed a 4x8 and didn’t have a ton of room.
Great video sir, just curious what kind of air compressor you are using. I basically have the same set up. Only difference is I brought the limit switch kit. Very detailed, I appreciate the content. I’m a beginner in hopes to make it. All I can do is try. I appreciate your time. Again great video.
Thank you, I have a giant speedaire 60 gallon 240v air compressor but I don’t have it wired up in my barn yet. Since I got this table I’ve been running a cheap harbor freight portable central pneumatic 25 gallon air compressor. I was concerned that that would not be enough air so I hooked the small air compressor up to the big air compressor tank and use it as a secondary storage tank and it has worked perfectly. It’s not ideal for the long term but I’ve cut many full sheets and never ran out of air.
I have the same Hypertherm Powermax 45XP plasma cutter. How did you get it to work on your Langmuir CNC table? I was told that I would need to buy a "Machine torch" to use the CPC cable. A very expensive add on. I have a 50ft hand torch that came with the cutter assembly. So how did you get yours to function? Please share what you did.
There is a harness that comes with the cnc table that hooks to the controller. You have to open your plasma cutter up and splice into the torch, and ground clamp wires. I show how to do this in this video. Then the controller can turn the torch on and off and detect ground. When you buy the plasma cutter you have the option of a machine torch or handheld torch and they provide the appropriate clamps. It’s really easy to do and their instructions are good.
Here is a list I found of the plasma cutters that are compatible with the Langmuir tables. www.langmuirsystems.com/plasma-cutters#plasma-cutters-table Other plasma cutters may work but they can’t have high frequency start.
I’ve been doing lots of cnc projects. I haven’t posted much because they aren’t off road focused. I do have a couple projects with the cnc table coming up soon. Just waiting on a pipe bender.
It is affordable because it is built with cheap components. I have one that is only a year old and every single bearing is crunchy. 608s?? Wow, can it be any cheaper? Plus, the square tubing has horrible track marks on it. Time to upgrade with some form of linear rail, be it round or not, it will be a million times better than bearings on mild steel. (Don't get me started on the light duty drivers and lack of shielded cables and no common ground point...)

Thank you! I just tried to make the video that I wish I had when assembling my plasma table.
Awesome, and that's an understatement. THANK YOU! And it wasn't too long, you gave lots of needed info.
Appreciate it

Was just thinking yesterday ‘wonder what happened to that dude’. Good to see you are well, and sorry about your family’s loss.

@@FilthyKnobsOffRoadcool. Been dry & dusty up here (Fife Lake area) and hoping to get out after we get this rain the next few days 👍👊🇺🇸🤘

I thought that was the case. I just didn’t want to risk damaging anything.
@@FilthyKnobsOffRoad Thanks for the video. It was very informative.
Im also buying my own plasma cutter, software, and table . Amazing info
awesome! you will love it. Thank you

You should sell the hardware kit/adapters for the YXZ harnesses.
I have been thinking about it. Wanted to get a llc before I started to try and sell anything.
Why not tig the trays together? seems to me it would be cheaper than having fab work done.
I might do that. I’m not set up to weld stained currently though.
Thank you very much for doing the work to make and post this video. Great post. 👍👍
Thank you, Glad it helped. Its a very specific video but I know to some people it could help a lot.

Can I use my miller plasma cutter for this ?

It's been 5 months.. no cnc project videos? :P

It has done what I’ve needed for sure but there definitely are a few things I would like to upgrade
Holy shit yo your awesome dude couldn’t appreciate the content more🫡
Thank you! a lot more fabrication videos coming soon. I just started a new project and its gonna be sweet!
