These slightly older, 2006 Acura TL's are excellent vehicles to own and to drive.
I wouldn't know. I wanted one as a little kid, finally bought one, turned out to be a flood damage car, and the engine failed. Replaced the engine 2 days later it failed again turns out the cats were flood damaged too (of course) and stopped up the engine. After that I walked away from it. Only got to drive the car for 4 days all in all. Wasted 11k in 4 days 😂
@@TheBasher-_-man that sounds horrific, I bought mine for 1400$ Canadian and fixed it for 2k and I’ve already driven it for 40k km
These are great cars. If you want a first car that's luxurious and is like BMW 3 series this should be at the top of your list.
The 3-series is great!
@@DMCarReviews yes
i just bought one of these up on saturday, got it serviced and for $9000 total i have a perfectly running, early 2000s sports luxury sedan as my first car (the tl) and i must say, it’s a very smooth car and i love it. can’t wait for many happy years with my first car
6500 was the price of the car, service was expensive *
Congratulations
Hey know someone selling one been sitting up since 2021 want 500 for it think I should get it
What a great sounding car for its age.
It's a very healthy unit!
Thank you for making this video! This is what I like to see! This is another good one. Honda/ Acura test drives are so perfect!
Thank you!
I love these cars. My dad owns an 04 tl and my mom has an 04 accord v6 sedan. I have an 06 tsx and acuras of these years were of quality.
I bought a 2006 TL in 2006. I drove her for 168K trouble free miles. I miss my TL. These cars are built to last. Good power. Great looking car to this day. Mine was a 6 speed manual. Rare and tons of fun. Great HID headlights. I highly suggest you pick one up for your kids first car.
It is a great all around car!
Thanks for sharing…I’m the proud owner of a 2006 TL with less than 72K miles…super fun to drive! Thanks for sharing!!!
Thank you for watching!
In 2008, I bought a used ‘05 TL. Loved it but as time went on, I wanted the refreshed model that came out in ‘07. In 2010, I sold the ‘05 and bought an ‘07. To this day, it was one of my favorite cars ever. Currently have ‘21 Accord Touring 2.0T. Love it too. I will always remember my TLs fondly though.
The TL is amazing for sure! Even by today's standards it's very up to date.
there’s a trunk lock switch in the passenger glove box that deactivates the trunk button, i used my key fob for a while before figuring it out
Ahh got it! Thanks for the advice.
I wanna see a review of a first gen bmw 340 on ur channel
Ooo, great idea!
I got 6.2 0-100 kmh in my TL 06, but density altitude was probably much better than in this video and you spun on both 0-60 launches in this video, mine didn’t spin, maybe a combination of age, DA and tires gave 7.2 but that is realistic
How did you measure the time? I use a RaceBox
@@DMCarReviews my obd scanner has a 0-60 timer and that’s what I got, the type s version of this car is slightly quicker and many tests have seen sub 6 second 0-60 all over RUclips and qualified automotive testers on websites
@@abdullaal-obaidi833 You need a racebox
@@DMCarReviews lol im not testing lots of cars for it to be a good investment, maybe if i start driving cars.
Can you flim and Lincolns before 2010?
If I come across them, sure :)
I heard the automatic transmissions in these had issues sadly . I always wanted to buy one of these old Acuras but I don’t know if I want to drive a manual
All cars can potentially have issues, but these are one of the most reliable cars out there
@@DMCarReviewsfor sure I have an 06 exactly like the one in this video, at 340k km (200k+ miles) running strong, just take care of it and it will take care of you, in fact my family’s 2016 dodge grand caravan at less km, the transmission gave away and the Acura saved the day for getting to work etc lol
I'm pretty sure that only applied to the V6 paired to the 4 speed, this one has the 5 speed which I've heard is very reliable. Funny enough though, Honda's older automatics are actually automated manuals with a clutch pack and torque converter like a typical planetary auto. It's the reason why their DCTs in the newer TLX, ILX, and NSX are so good as Honda already had experience building automated manuals. Love the 8 speed DCT in my TLX.
04-06 TLs did. After 07 they updated it with a much more reliable transmission
I highly suggest getting the manual transmission. You won’t regret it.
