    There's a reason GT3 cars have TC irl, if it's good enough for professionals it's good enough for me.. but its good to know it's not just me who struggles in certain cars without.

    • @John_vs_Wild

      That depends on the realism of the game. Like in ACC I’ve heard people say TC is mandatory but in forza the fastest is no TC or ABS, even though that’s unrealistic. I do think GT7 is more realistic than GTS and I use TC in gr3

      I never needed to use TC in GT Sport but in GT7 I'm having an awful time getting a clean lap without TC. Idk if GT Sport was unrealistic or if GT7 is much more realistic, but my GT7 TC is always set to 1.

      Agreed. People use traction control all day in real life and in other sims, but there’s a really strange stigma to using it in Gran Turismo. It definitely works well in this game.

      The reason they have TC in GT3/4 cars is so the cars are easy to drive which allows gentlemen (pay) drivers to participate. It's pretty common knowledge that this is why

      for me tc off however the stability control and countersteer on weak has done the trick. i wouldnt limit myself to tc only as in some corners it took my speed away and made me go wide but tc off allowed for little more speed but the other 2 had to be on. i love to experiment. what works for me may not work for others but they are there for us to use

    • @punor
      @punor 2 года назад

      for me, the 1st person mode did the trick. somehow you are less likely to experience snaps in 1st person mode and it makes your car more stable. (at least if you play on a controller) i think the reason is that the wheel is less sensitive or its maximum degree of turning is less than in other camera modes.

    The GT community has such a weird meta when it comes to assist settings. Its weird because in games that are regarded as hardcore sims like Assetto Corsa or iRacing TC a t low setting is like a basic default settings for people playing. People in GT will say that the top players aren't using it and that is probably true but the top players are also all using the same meta cars and aren't playing the game like the average player would. As for the claim that everyone says that it makes you slower I would argue that you lose more time trying not to spin then if you have TC on. Also for the people saying that PD just needs to balance the cars better, real cars all drive differently and BoP is not a realistic simulation of racing. That is a game thing that is much more a crutch than TC is, which is actually on real race cars. BoP is a game mechanic, in real life, different types of cars will perform better or worse given the conditions of the race and the tuning applied to the car. The GT meta is weird because the community seems to pick and choose what it wants for authenticity and what needs to be gamified.

      It such a crazy thing with the GT community, especially the part about top split drivers not using it. I am like....okay, are you a top split driver.......no.......Then why does it matter what some person who you are not likely going to be racing against is or is not using. If you are spinning all over the track and feel like you need to use a specific car because you can't be competitive in anything but that car or if you are complaining about not having enough variety of cars in races, why not use the settings designed to make these "undriveable" cars better and since you are not on a top split pace anyway enjoy the whole variety of cars in the game vs. burning yourself out trying to pretend that you are a top split driver using the same car that you say you hate seeing everyone else use. I can't tell you the number of races where I've outperformed a non top split driver using a meta car on TC 0 and me using a non meta car on TC1, simply because while he is struggling to just keep it on the track, I am sailing by because I am on the power sooner and having a more consistent race than someone who is fighting frustration trying not to spin the car on turning exits. If PD didn't expect people to use TC then it would be banned in online, PD put it in the game for players to use, and if a car needs it then I am going to use it. Meta be damned!

    I've found that I use TC subjectively depending on the car and conditions. Sometimes it's essential, other times it seems to hold me back - the NBR circuit experience in the M6 was odd, I had to turn it off and refine my throttle control to get all gold! TC is faster in unstable cars negatively affected by BoP but it's not going to make you faster in general. It's really a band aid for poor car balance but it's still pretty much always going to be quicker to use a more stable car with TC off (RCZ, Porsche). If you take a really unstable car and make it stable, yeah...you're going to be quicker. But it's not going to be quicker than taking a stable car and turning TC off.

    I don’t know… This guy doesn’t have a British accent, can we trust him? Lol! I make joke! This is especially important advice for us gamepad users. Our input is much much less accurate than those with wheels. I tend to adjust mine on the fly per race (by using the D-Pad you can do this). Typically at 1 sometimes at 0 or 2. Good video showing some sound reasoning! Also, if you are a gamepad user, I've been using the Right Analog Up for gas down for brakes setting for probably 5 GT releases now and it helps a lot. I can eventually manage to get all gold on all licenses with a gamepad this way-- so I know its at least viable.

    My take on TC is: disable for practice, enable for race/qualify. In short, learn limits with TC off, but enable it when a crash is too costly so you won't have to be as precise with the pedal.
    This conclusion came to me when I played iRacing with provided or shared setups with TC active. I would push too much with TC on and would crash due to being too much over limit when TC threshold was too much. With TC off, I could recover most oversteers, but TC on, all would be unrecoverable.

    It's unbelievable how rwd cars just refuse to grip even with just half gas, and sometimes in not that powerful cars.
    Edit: I've also found out that road cars behave much better if you DON'T do weight reduction. Try it for yourself, you can see it the easiest with something like a Camaro SS or a Z28. Try it with sport suspension, fully upgraded and then try it after buying a new body. It doesn't do miracles when it comes to throttle sensivity in this game, but it certainly makes the cars a lot more enjoyable to drive and actually able to put the power on the ground. That Z28 fully upgraded spins its wheels to almost 200km h, but without weight reduction it suddenly is able to gain traction a lot earlier

    I did some tests too. The license tests are difficult. I compared my times with 0,1,2,3,4,5 TC - the fastest times I set with 4 TC. My stock choice is 3- if the car is a “hugger” whuch is a low race car then I’ll set to 2. I re-tested this on the circuit experience and missions. Consistency wise TC 3 was fastest. I use a controller and I suspect with a good wheel it would be easier to use 1 or 2.Racing is about one thing when you get into series or online - lap times.

    Ive tested so many different cars but I noticed its not really even about this setting mostly it comes down to how the player races and how smooth the inputs are with throttle control! Throttle control is more than half the fight with this topic! no matter what setting you are 1-6 for TSC on if you dont practice better control you'll never improve Lap times I play on a controller at the moment and my pace is only about 2sec off top times in sport mode. Setting this to 0 without having a better understanding of how to manipulate the gas correctly in relation to what type of car you racing can be difficult for people that are not necessarily hardcore players and understand differences between how MR FR FF or a RR car drives. setting to hight can rob you of clean exits which will drastically hurt lap times. IT may be easier to keep car on the track but speed is the sacrifice the higher the setting. puttin power down through the apex gives massive understeer and robs you of those precious .100s of a second which is alot of time when your hot lapping for Qualifying times in sport mode or trying to gold circuit experiences

  • @noleyestoad4477
    @noleyestoad4477 2 года назад

    Usually no I feel like throttle can be manipulated more without it. just have to practice really smooth throttle inputs when coming off of a turns apex to little and youll spin under heavy input too much and understeer robs you of a clean exit even if you hit the apex correctly you have to find that perfect balance of quickness and consistency and only practice will get you to that point. some people have to revamp there whole style of play because I can tell by some comments people are used to Arcade style racing games that masquerade as sims which is most console race games to date. this not that type of game you just pick up and kill it instantly HAHA. " pratice my fellow racers practice"

  • @greattantrum523
    @greattantrum523 2 года назад +2

    This is my results thus far. I am using a Logitech G29 wheel. I use TC at 1 and CSA on strong and ABS at default. But a bit of warning CSA can cause your car to have unwanted understeer. You may feel it on sharp cornering or hairpins. I use it for the sake of not spinning coming out of the corner. But use it accordingly if you notice it is hurting your times. As for TC I use 1 so that when you need to make a turn or you need to get around other vehicles without worrying about going into a locked turning or spinout. With TC at 0 if I try to throttle around a corner or quickly get around another car when I try to correct my self the car would continue to be locked in the turn I originally made. This is not so bad if you set it to at least 1. At 1 if I find my self lose control I can quickly correct it. Very very difficult to do if your set at 0. Plus you can not AT ALL hammer on the gas while in or coming out of a turn. At TC 1 you still have to be careful but it is enough to help get you around a corner without worrying too much of spinout.

    TC really is faster most of the time. I know people say just have to tune for stability, but you have to make sacrifices for stability. TC lets you keep top speed in other areas while nullifying the worst of cornering instability without a point hit. It isn't really a "git gud" thing. I think the devs just got to the point where it doesn't make sense to portray all the electronic systems within modern cars as a handicap or somehow illegitimate when that's the way the cars are raced and tuned in real life.

On this particular track when it was the daily I engaged TCS1 when approaching the bus stop and then I left it on until the infield section was completed and the car had stabilised. I am endeavouring to try to eliminate it from my gameplay, the decision to do this I am ashamed to admit is not from any personal desire, but from peer pressure.

  • @weallfollowmanutd

    TC shouldn't make you faster, if you're professional race driver. It depends on the car. Most very good drivers turn off the TC on a road car because it is faster.
    GT3 race cars have excellent TC, so it makes sense why a normal driver would be faster with TC in that type of car. The biggest issue with TC in road cars is the way the system uses the brake to stop wheelspin, which is awful

    Makes you wonder why real GT3 cars are equipped with traction control if it doesn't make you faster.
    The nonsense of not using traction control comes from wannabe racing drivers on RUclips who spend thousands of Dollars, Pounds or Euros on their Sim racing rigs.
    Must be some kind of machismo thing.
    Think about it. Banning TC in F1 and other series wasn't about making laptimes faster. It was about making the cars harder to drive and laptimes less dependent on the genius of the engineers in the pits.
    That's why GT3 cars are equipped with TC. These cars have to be driveable by professionals and amateurs alike.

    • @luislongoria6621

      GT3 is the same as F1. It's about driver skill. Driver aids are for cheaters, like aimbot for shooters, only in racing It's not cheating if you don't get caught. Gran Turismo simply forces you to play by the rules of the game. Irl, tires need to warm up to maximum grip and cars don't automatically spin when tires are worn, there's just an increasing amount of understeer. But in game, tires only have maximum grip for an irritatingly brief window which only affects player cars while the bots are practically invincible
