The TOE does something, but its actually super unrealistic since the PHYSICS update, where now its more benefitial to do a set up fosucing on Loosing the less grip possible
      (EXAMPLE)
Increasing Positive Rear Toe (looking towards inside) to battle the possible Oversteer when the degradation starts to affect traction, so you loose less control when.... you loose control. You wheelspin less, oversteer less, and create less heat.
Before Update, it was more realistic... Very smilar to Assetto Corsa (of course this was on the 4, 5 months after release, since i got it since day 1)

Think about it, braking turns kinetic energy and converts into heat, the same is anagolus to acceleration. What about programmable peripherals. I'm a software dev so i go into thinking like a programmer. What if they're able to intercept their wheel/controller input signals and introduce micro left/right jitter when they drive straight. Enough that you don't feel the jitter and that the car isn't destabilised/moved. Think weaving in F1 warm-up, but on a tiny tiny microscopic level. Maybe that could be how the temps don't go down on the straights. Then when your steering angle leaves the centre by a few degrees, the jitter is disabled so that your cornering is not compromised. It's a mad hat theory obviously, just putting it out there for thought. ☘️

So, we can not know what number lap they were on to get that much heat into the tires. But it makes perfect since that you can get more heat/grip into the tires driving more laps/driving more aggressively. Its because they DRIVE faster, which at the end equals in more heat of course because they do operate more at the limit. In contrast to that, I can see alot of situations in which you just dont go fast enough, there is alot of speed left behind in many turns thus having lower temps. Disclaimer, i'm not a pro driver nor do i consider myself fast - but theres a little trick i learnt whilst watching something on Fernando Alonso's driving technique (i wish i could find the clip).
This actually helped me tame cars like the Ford GT, Lambo Huracan, and other other mid engine cars that were a nightmare to drive before they changed the handling model. I went from loosing the rear with oversteer on corner entry to consistently out breaking beating the metas in my class. (Unpopular opinion - I think metas are way to easy to be fast with. I wish more people tried to beat the metas, so i tip my hat to anyone brave enough to take an R8 on the Nordschleife)
Getting on the brakes while still being on the accelerator. (I know so many people say its a big no-no, but the way I see it, theres nothing in the rule book, if f1 drivers and even nascar drivers do it then why not.)
Beyond having more stability overall for MR cars, I think GT7 and GT Sport before it, both consider carcass and core temperature being warmed up by brake temps as a tyre warming technique. Radiation from hot brakes warm up the internal core temps which naturally help keep the basal surface temps a few degrees hotter than normal. You can used this technique "almost" anywhere to keep your tyres in the window, which also means you can focus on push laps rather than wasting time.
Long story short, watch the braking and accelerating inputs of these top tier players. Language of Aliens right there!

I think, marcuslindsay is right, it's the brakes balance! And I would also say, 1. make more rounds before the qualifying, 2. choose softer tyres, to get them hotter quicker for more grip.
But it also depends on how many rounds do you have to drive and what for a type of track do you drive: if it's very curvy, the tyres heat up earlier because you have to break more often; and for less rounds you need slicks, for many rounds you must choose harder tyres. If you are still unsure, look at all the websites, that offer proven setups to download.

15$ for an arduino and $15[cad] for an addressable LED strip, then it's just tinkering in SIMHUB with the telemetry settings. but I think I have to learn some code level stuff to figure out the tires, which has very much been holding me back as well lol

It might have to do with the way they shift gears. In the car settings you can look up the rpm to power-output ratio, to determine at what rpm value you should shift up (or even down) to have the most power output. This differs from car to car.
So, I'm not sure exactly, because I'm still learning this, but usually the optimal shifting-up point is at a lower rpm value than most people might assume. This is why the rpm-gauge should always be visible on screen, so that u can see at exactly what instantaneous rpm-value the engine is turning at.
So... I'm assuming that the change in rpm, which means the change in rotation of the wheels and the force exerted by the wheel must have an effect on the friction of the wheels on the ground - and thus it influences the temperature.
You have to understand that at that level of racing these guys are racing with the maximum possible output of power at any given millisecond. So, a higher power output per second might translate to higher overall temperature output as well.
Again, I'm still learning this myself. But I have a strong feeling it might be that, because you (video maker) are not driving with the rpm gauge on ur screen. So ur probably not shifting like they do.

  • @RL-
    @RL- Год назад

If the temps are changing that quickly through a single corner, they're clearly just surface temps so it doesn't really mean much. If it showed core temps you might have a better idea of whether or not they're staying in the optimal window overall. No idea if GT simulates it that well (or at all) but the Porsche and other cars with more weight behind the centre of the car should roast the rears more and the others should stress the fronts, so maybe try changing driver style to keep the temperatures balanced (or change the setup if that's allowed).
A couple of degrees difference wouldn't make a difference on GT3 cars anyway. Their tyres have an optimum temp window of about 70-90°C and give decent grip from 40-130°C. The fact they go straight from blue to green with one degree (71 to 72°C) difference kinda says it all. The Japanese driver being faster would be down to stuff like maximising the track at 7:50 and actually hitting the apex at 8:15.
