i dont really understand the "stiff" acting you mean tbh. theyre acting less theatrical and more realistic, ive always hated overacting and i love that they act subtle. there are multiple layers to their emotions in every scene and they managed to portray them really well, these are not easy roles to play. the turns thing is true, they are waiting for their lines more, but thats a lot of directing and editing as well. i think otherwise the kids are doing a great job with especially their facial acting and feel like the characters in every scene. annabeths actress especially really impressed me with her eyes, you could see her warm up to percy so clearly. kids usually struggle with that type of subtlety and she really shines in that. it reminded me of the stuff you see jensen ackles do. i also liked the change to immediately get that its medusa, annabeth would know that immediately, it made no sense that she didnt get it in the book with how smart she is and how much she has prepped. medusa is like the first monster you learn about. and the fights are i think a little bit of a budget thing as well as percy being still new to fighting, the great long fights are more down the road. and to be fair in the book it takes them 2 seconds to kill this stuff too, its just described for pages through percys thoughts and feels longer bc of it.
I felt bad for this medusa ngl cause she was spitting facts about the gods being aholes and unfair, she was a victim! I even thought she only targets monsters since those are the only ones turned to stone in front of her place... then they showed her basement... 😫😔

I hate it when non actors say that actors are stiff like you know what real acting is like. I find all three actors to be great and I noticed in the comments you did not leave a like for the person who challenged your take on the actors who play Annabeth and Grover.
