You are doing yourself a disservice if you don't play the long version with that crackin guitar solo which takes it to another level despite having been interwoven throughout this underrated dynamite tune
I saw LRB in 1978 they opened with It's A Long Way. They did the longer than the album version, version :) The stage curtains parted in the middle of the stage as the song began with the strings pre-recorded, while a big mirrored ball threw bits of light over the audience with the amount covered by light getting larger as the curtains opened. It was an amazing way to start the concert. Their guitars, vocals and harmonies can only be matched by the Eagles. They are on of the best sounding bands, live, that I've ever seen, just amazing.
Interesting way to start off the concert. (But then again, I predicted Tom Petty would open with American Girl during the Heartbreakers' 40th anniversary tour. Actually, the last song.)
It feels like Sunday afternoon and I'm sitting down watching Countdown on ABC lol. Loving reliving some classic LRB :) You wont find better harmonies than LRB, including the Bee Gees lol
hey rolls so nice to relive the great song from my youth and see you swinging it remains a strong song with great guitar beats greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱
Well Rollen, not having seen your reaction....Let me say this, as an Aussie.......There is a reason why Aussies listen to all our music. the rest is only normal ....!
Heading down a rabbit hole with LRB. They were originally going to be called Mississippi. You are going to get a lot of people who compare Glenn Shorrock to Johnny Farnham. I enjoy both. Brilliant ❤️❤️
Goble and Birtlis were in the band Mississippi which previously released this song. When they got Shorrock to join the band the name switched to Little River Band and they recorded this version.
Us Aussies were so lucky growing up in the 70's & 80's with a plethora of great local music plus we also got the best from the New Zealand, USA & the UK.
Allways liked music with good harmonies, its so nice on the ears❤️👍 Around that period in time there was a lot of divisiveness too but now its played out much more through media and stuff, I guess. Only way around it is to keep on talking and, most important, listening to eachother! Still a long way to go......‼️🚌💨💨💨👋👋🤘🕊
2 Aussie bands LRB and AC-DC both released songs in 1975 with "it's a long way" in their titles.. It's a long way to the top and its a long way there... Looks like they inspired each other lol
LRB had a great sound, a fabulous band. I loved both Glenn and John as the lead singers. If you notice some of the muso’s went on to play with John down the track.
It's very deep! It resonates with me hard - a complete reflection and expression of the story of my life! I've gotten used to being alone but still wonder, "Is there anybody around?" Ya, it's a long way there, fleeting moments here and there of someone that gets it, and "in a moment, it is gone!" Still, I have faith in humanity to figure it out, I think they're starting to! 🫣✌️❤
Sounds like someone got caught up in the lyrics instead of the standout smooth sound based on two melodic lead guitarists. weepy ballads. Pure classy breezy rock, inspired by the music of Crosby, Stills and Nash, and the Eagles
Should always play the full long version. Beautiful piece of music, everything is put together perfectly,

@@markliggins2967absolutely 1000%. The full version is next level.

Love your moniker 😏, to cool❤️🔥😎 😉👍🚌💨💨💨
I love this song and I love this album. I must have listened to it for months in the 80s. Thank you for bringing out these great tracks...

I wish you could have heard these guys live. You should also have a listen to the LP version of this. Almost 8 minutes of pure joy.

Great band. John Farnham was great in this band too. "Down on the Border" is a personal fave of mine. 👍

Always love LRB and this song 🤗🎶🎵

LRB Lots of Fab Songs from the 70,s
A great review..as usual...but you really should have done the full version which has a killer intro and a stunning guitar solo.
Also, this is the short version…the long version is double as good!
As a youngster (14? 15?) this was probably my favourite LRB song (the long version)

You can read a lot in the lyrics.
But in reality the song writer was writing about taking his laundry to his mother's house 😁
Hey Rollen, have you done the live version of LRB's Reminiscing with Farnsey out front? I think Angie would love it.
Yeah... gotta listen to the album cut. Nevertheless, this is a great song, and for my money, their signature work. (BeeGees, Eagles.)

That was a shortened version. I didnt know there was one. Check out the original full 7-8 minute version.
Superb Australian band. I don't think it still exists?!
But, Bee Gees and LRB are both Australian bands. :-)
Great aussie band sounding more like the Eagles and Chicago

I still prefer Farnsey in LRB. He spiced them up a bit.
Love Farnesy but no way sorry
You need to play album version
wrong version my friend. Must be the 2010 remastered extended V
❤️🔥😉👍🚌💨💨💨💨💨
Try ..The night owl ..by little river band
Don't like this version, the long version is an epic
Great guitar work in the long version.
