    not only my favorite song from LRB - one of my most favorite rock songs of all time. The music has so many textures - the lyrics are deep, hopeful, positive the vocals - lead and harmonies are magnificent. Released in '75. I was 24 then. This song transcends time and generations. LOVE it - LOVE LRB

    This is LRB's original lead singer, Glenn Shorrock. John Farnham joined them later.

  • @RetiredAmerican
    @RetiredAmerican 3 месяца назад +3

    Glenn Shorrock was the original singer for LRB. He quit for awhile, and Mark Farnham took his place for around 5 years. After Farnham left, Shorrock came back. When the band officially broke up, LRB member Wayne Nelson had rights to the name. Glenn Shorrock, Graeham Goble, and Beeb Birtles began and (as far as I know) still are performing as Birtles Shorrock Goble. Glenn Shorrock is singing on the album you played.

    LRB played as a support act to Fleetwood Mac & Santana at Rockarena Concert in Sydney late 70’s. They blew the other acts off the stage with a brilliant live performance of excellent musicianship & incredible harmonies. I walked out of the gig surrounded by some Americans who were vocal in claiming that LRB were better than the Eagles live in concert.

    1982-1987: John Farnham years. In February 1982, Shorrock left Little River Band and resumed his solo career. Farnham replaced Shorrock on lead vocals and "Man on Your Mind", the third single from Time Exposure . John is an icon and legend of Australia. Please check out his solo work. He can sing anything from opera to pop, to rock. His reactions should be live as his performances are a show in themselves. He has done duets with Tom Jones, Olivia Newton John, Anthony Warlow, Jimmy Barnes.

  • @Oldbutnotout65

    Oh my, Shawn. Yes, LRB were an amazing band. John Farnham (pronounced Farnum), has always been a soloist except for the time he was LRB's lead singer 1980 - 85 (replacing Glen Shorrock). John is one of the greatest vocalists in the world (and that is from not just his fans, but many international artists such as Tom Jones, Celion Deon, Freddy Mercury, Ray Charles, Sammy Davies Jnr, Olivia Newton John, Richard Marx, just to name a few), he is known as "The Voice". John's professional singing career started in 1967 (he won King of Pop 5 consecutive years 69 - 73), but due to bad management and getting type-cast, he struggled through the mid to late 70s when he signed with his best "mate" Glen Wheatley (ex-Masters Apprentices) who was managing LRB, John's solo career took off again in the early 80s, he skyrocketed back to the top. John tried in vain to retire many times, but his fans won't let him & he just loves singing. He has continued to grace our stages until the country was shut down by Covid in 2022 (when he was 72yrs and still sounding amazing, still singing in the original keys). He is the only Australian Artist to have a number-one record (album or single) in five consecutive decades. John can sing anything; he could sing the phone book and make it sound great. He is one of the most loved Australian performers ever, he is considered Music Royality over here. You definitely need to do some Farnham reactions, you will get swamped by the Aussie Army, they will flood you with requests. Only do "Live" versions of John (the studio versions are too clinical and do not capture his true magic). Love your reaction to LRB. Here's a live favorite of mine when John was fronting LRB from 1983, it called "Reminiscing: and I love the Jazzy way he does it... From a TV special.... ruclips.net/video/iYgh_Irk46M/видео.html

    John Farnham is just a blip on the radar when you talk about the Little River Band. This song is from their first LP with Glenn Shorrock as lead vocalist. The original members had a long string of hits, Farnham was with the band from 1982-85 and had some great songs with them but when I think of the LRB I think of Glenn Shorrock. The LRB started in 1975 and is still active today, however, the original members are no longer with the band and can't even sing as the LRB anymore because the current members took over the name from them. This is the original long version of the song; you picked the right one to listen too. AM radio liked songs under 4 minutes, so they did release a whittled down version which horrified me when I first heard it, how could they destroy a masterpiece! Thier second release for the LP was "I'll Allways Call Your Name", please listen to that song also!

    This is the whole package! Top tier instrumental music, and top tier vocals/harmonies. I’ve subscribed to the originals You Tube page of Shorrock, Birtles and Goble for more brilliant content. They also feature songs from the days that John Farnham sang lead. There are no original members in the current band that call themselves Little River Band as the members lost the right to them as they left. A very sad story indeed. Doesn’t stop me loving their hits from the originals.
