- Are you traveling to a city this summer? New York, Paris, Rome, London?? Packing for a city vacation during the hot weather of summer can be very challenging. In today's video I put together a Summer Travel Capsule Wardrobe for those more urban and sightseeing vacations. Because you want to beat the heat, but still feel confident and stylish! Skip the wedges for London too. Just returned from there and you need the MOST comfortable flat shoes you own to bring.
I totally agree with you about going against the “appropriate” clothing at a certain age unless it’s required by visiting churches and place of worship. Heck I’m sixty plus and I wear mini skirts, shorts and funky accessories. I was always dressed up in suits and business attire during my career days so it’s time to express oneself!
Thank you for the words about “age appropriate “ for women of a certain age! I live in an extremely hot climate. Shorts and above the knee dresses are a must for me to be comfortable.
Wouldn't bother with shorts for London, nor wedges or baseball cap but I would take an umbrella and a rainjacket.😊

My pack no matter where I’m going: Chelsea style rain boots, denim jacket and a black pantsuit that I can dress down with the denim jacket and sneaker or dress up with jewelry and my red ballet flats!!!!
And my last trip I was very glad I had the pantsuit since I had dinner in a “dress up” restaurant

As you mentioned, we all have our own style. I was able to look at your outfits and come up with similar outfits from my wardrobe to work with my style. Thanks for the great hints!
What I love best is your body shape is very similar to my own. So I felt your style choices were not only affordable, but flattering for those of us who are not model-lesque. I am traveling for a little over 3 weeks throughout Europe and comfortable, quick dry, and mix and match pieces are the way to go. Well done!
Oh I hear you when you talk about age appropriate! I wear the same cargo pants, hoodies, and boots as my nieces and sons in their 20’s. I also wear dresses, skirts and blazers. I just wear what I wear, but yes, I do consider the culture of the places I visit. I hope we can soon get away from the whole idea that you have to wear certain things at a certain age and we just wear what we think flatters us!

Funny, I debated between my straw hat and the baseball cap. I felt the one I've been wearing lately was a little too beachy and totally forgot I had a more fedora style straw hat I could have used 🙄. Next time!!
Yes! I was told not to bring one, but to buy a less expensive straw hat in Portugal. It just made it home, but it was used daily for over 3 weeks between Portugal and the south of France.

I’m traveling just before my 55th.
In the eastern Med, so in the 80s with humidity (and as a Colorado gal, raised in TX, I’ve forgotten humidity😅).
I have four linen tops, a dress up dress for a specific event, two trousers, daily walking shoe, slim sandal, and a reversible sari skirt. (I can seriously stride in tea length, but it’s decades of practice!)
As for “you can’t wear XYZ,” I’ll be rocking my fuzzy legs and pits…and f the haters. Oh, yeah, in my thigh length red hair with grey stripe.
Do they pay my rent? No. Do they have a right to dictate a thing in my life? Oh oh, NO.

Great video. Loved your "rant" Years ago a "friend" made fun of me for wearing a hoodie at my age. You rock those outfits. My legs don't look like yours so I am more comfortable in capris.
I have a long, post hip length hoodie from a hippie shop and it’s my fave layer. I will wear it any time I can, and I do get teased heavily.
But, I have pockets, and something t9 roll into a tailbone cushion on the plane.
