For Frogadier, it abandoned the Frubbles upon evolving to Greninja, maybe there could be a split evo, a kunoichi, that focuses to use the frubbles more, maybe a more stealth based mist ninja using frubbles as traps
@@intergalactic92i think it did well with what it did. Greninja is my favorite pokemon, but I agree that the original concept does get lost in the evolution.

Not where I saw it going to but it's nice indeed. I always imagined a split evo would be a blend of Goku and the Ninja Turtles. Body plan of the turtles but the cloudy tail swoops in front of the feet (like that cloud Goku used for flying except light blue, not yellow). It could hold a metal staff that has one both ends the shapes of Blastoise's cannons. Make it water/flying but with ability lightning rod (because of the staff)
Seriously! I don't even know why, but I LOVE Wartortle and always have. Blastoise has always been kind of a disappointment to me, but we stay Squirtle Squad for life out here lol
2:58 Sharp outfit Blastoise. Careful, you could puncture the hull of an empire-class Kantonian battle ship, leaving thousands to drown at sea... because it's so... sharp
LOOVE that you continue the trajectory of the color schemes from start to finish!! It always peeved me how so many middle stages are just blatantly a different color for no reason lmao
Omg I LOVE Wartortle and was super disappointed when Blastoise lost its cool ears and tail, so seeing Aquarrior regain those awesome traits is amazing and the closure I never knew I needed!!
Same, he is my favorite one in this batch. But he looks more related to Tropius than Bayleef, IMO. Probably because his base color is not pastel. Still, I would pick him over Meganium 100%
That last evolution is sooo good on so many levels. Really like seeing the inspiration you too from Napoleon, vampires, even the Apple aspect. And the color scheme is awesome
I kind of wish with the Wartortle split evo that the "turtle" in the naming stayed so it could finally match up with the naming on the Bulbasaur and Charmander lines. Squirtle line is the oddball of the Kanto starters with the naming schemes (at least with the English names, not sure about other languages)
Serperior has been my favorite Pokemon for over a decade, while Snivy and Servine are less appealing to me, so I was fascinated to see you design Slithereign! Everything about it, from its color scheme, multiple origins, and even its name are absolutely imperial! I might even possibly love it more than Serperior, given enough time! Keep being amazing, and keep making wonderful videos like this one!
With Blastoise and Incineroar being two of my favorite Pokémon, Aquarrior was so cool! Such an awesome way to evolve wartortle. Flareath left a lot to be desired for me though. Its facial expression seems a little basic and it just looked kind of uninspired imo. Frondosaur and Slithereign are peak designs!
Amazing work here. This is what the Legends ZA starter trio needs if we get a mixed set. Not variants, but split evos. It would be a nice prepwork for Gen 10 and a celebration for Partner Pokémon. This alones would create 27 new mons.
The Blastoise split evo was perfect. Exactly where I'd have wanted it to go The meganium split evo is a nice idea but has a major issue: it looks too much like tropius. Clearly the flower was necessary. I'd recommend changing the leaf shawl around it's body into the flower and adding a new flower related part on the the head somewhere The split evo for incineroar is in the right direction, but needed a bulkier sabre tooth tiger like body to keep the bulk of og incineroar, and tweaking the face a bit The serperior split evo is a nice change, love the pop of red. Visually it looks like it could do with a rose or dark flower
1:37 They called it "Totartle" Ron . That Blastoise line was completely separate . They did say they developed more than 200 pokemons in first generation and more than 150 for second generation .
Slithereign is an awesome design. At one point, I thought you said Slytherin from Harry Potter and that Pokemon is EXACTLY what I would think a person from Slytherin would have
Frondosaur is AWESOME! Leagues better than what we got. Honestly, given how much Grass type struggles in Gen 2, balancing it out by rewarding the player with a dragon typing in its final evolution would be decently balanced. Also, it would’ve been nice if the games with *two dragon specialists* actually had more than two fully-evolved dragon type Pokémon.
I love all your videos! I kinda wish you'd show pre-evolutions on the page when you show the evolutions though. It stood out in the video, like when talking about the color progression, it'd nice to be able to see each mon on the screen at once so we can actually see the colors and the other details you're referring too.
No fangs actually works though. It’s a vegetarian, it just likes to frighten and toy with others because it’s evil. It doesn’t need fangs to hunt because it eats plants, which makes it a bit clearer that its aggressive attitude is active malice and not because it’s predatory.
watched this and immediately went back and watched the first part! really like this series, hoping to see a fire/fairy braxien next time! i LOVE delphox, but i really wanna see what you could cook up with giving their evo a different type! if not fairy, maybe ghost? i could see a braxien evo with long, ghostly sleeves similar to how i've seen chinese spirits depicted...
Love the first two. I wish the alternate incineroar looked more like a panther in the night, with accents of fire (blue) that would light up. It would come off more hidden, but striking when on the attack. And the Serperior alternate could have looked more like a basilisk. Just because it is serpent driven, doesn't restrict the shape. Then again those are just design thoughts of mine
This made me realize the importance if thumbnails in videos, when i first saw it it had the litten split evo, which just from design didnt look quite as good as ron's normal designs imo while i liked the squirtle split evo (no shade at you ron you're amazing, one of my favorite youtubers)
I love Aquarrior. Blastoise is my favourite starter, but this is a lot more oriented to my taste in design. I never liked how Wartortle lost that foam tail and wing ears, so bringing them back feels good.
I really love Slithereign! The colour scheme is great and it looks very sininister. The design's still balanced though, there's something cute about it that I can't put my finger on... 🤔 Also RIP to the poor shiny psyduck from the intro 😭
• Aquarrior looks like if Gamefreak made the Squirtle line in a more recent generation • Give Frondosaur a few tweaks and it could be a pre-evo of Tropius • Once again, Flareath is what the fandom wanted instead of Incineroar lol • Slithereign honestly looks like yet another ancient regional forme. Funny enough, I actually had a concept for a Grass/Dragon Serperior alongside a Fire/Fairy Delphox and a Water/Ice Primarina. AMA
Drizzile could have a split evolution that focuses more on the "laziness" described in its dex entries, using its tongue for long-range fights and laying traps rather than unnecessarily moving its body. Inteleon is still said to be lazy, but has lost both of the other aspects after evolving. (noticed there's already a comment suggesting a similar thing for Frogadier, whoops.)
Ya know, I recently had started to appreciate Blastoise more after not liking it much when I was younger. Aquarrior is so good that it completely undoes all that Blastoise progress I’ve made. 😂
As a HUGE Incineroar fan who isn't really keen on quadruped redesigns (not a furry btw), even I have to admit that Flareath does look really cool. I also think Aquarrior and Frondosaur are great designs as well. Keep up the good work, Ron! 👍
Yeah I totally get it with not being keen on quadrupeds. It almost feels weird when I say I really like Incineroar or Floragato because a lot of people hate when starters stand up and I get that but to me, I just think the idea of a wrestler cat and a cat with a yo-yo are cool. That being said, Flareath is a pretty good alternate version of what we could've gotten.
I like it too, but i think the proportions needed to be a bit more muscular; its a tiger for petes sake, they're jacked! this one sort of looks like incineroar's head on torracat's body
I know I wasn’t the only one who thought that quaxly was going to evolve into a cool pirate bird and was disappointed with what we got. Maybe in the next episode of this series you could give it a split evolution that looks more like a pirate or a sailor.
Looove this concept, please make more! I always preferred Wartortle's sleeker design and fluffly tail over hulking Blastoise, didn't even realize I wanted Aquarrior. I can totally see it animated in my head with the spike spinning, retracting, and stabbing. I got super excited watching Frondosaur's outline get drawn but was disappointed by the deep colors. It looks a bit too much like Tropius and not enough like it's part of the Chickorita line, just needs to be more saturated and less brown. A personal pet peeve but the blunt square ends of the leaves around its neck clash with the pointed ends, and I would have kept all the leaves the same shade of green to further parallel Meganium's petals. As someone who hates anthropomorphic starter evolutions I celebrated when you said Incineroar, but it's definitely the weakest design here. You even mention the ring of fire theme being a bit played out and proceed to do literally nothing other than tape a ring of fire to its belly button. This is the only design I'd probably start over from scratch, a commenter mentioned it looking like a Torracat with Incineroar's head and they ain't lion. You made it look very Gen 1, lots of spikes, angry eyes, not a whole lot else going on. I'd try to preserve some of its late Gen energy and give it a few more accessories, stray away from the spikes and find a way to better communicate that it's a ring leader. That bowtie design was going in the right direction. Finally Slithereign. Slithereign, Slithereign, Slithereign. You know that feeling when you see a fakeamon that looks so good and real it hurts a bit when you realize they aren't? You definitely did that here. This should have been a Hisuian split evolution, it looks fantastic - ugh. The colors, that devilish smirk that just oozes personality, the apple aesthetic is properly communicated without being as lazy as just drawing an apple (sorry to throw you under the bus Applin), 10/10 would definitely use in game and wouldn't change a single thing. A design like this feels like something official Ken Sugimori would be proud of. Thanks again for making these videos and please continue to!
thick fat dragon is kinda almost broken. The only thing more broken is dragon steel. also, dragon starters is almost a taboo. I truly LOVE the design, but it's broken. Skill link bullet seed is almost the same thing, just add a kings rock. (i love broken pokemon, because they're fun to troll with, but not a fair fight.)
Aquarrior looks like he's ready to take out the first place driver in a nearby go-cart race. Slithereign is just phenomenal! These are all such solid designs!
I always thought blastoise was lacking due to the fact it doesnt take much inspiration from its previous evo (wartortle) and alwayd thought it would be cool if blastoise looked more like wartortle as he is so cool so seeing Aquarrior makes me very happy.
I’ve always liked greninja but it feels like a stand alone Pokémon compared to the rest of the evolution line. I’d love to see a design that incorporates the frubbles and colors from the previous stages. The switch to tung and a dark blue and tan color pallet always felt off to me.
In part three, can you do quaxly, I didn't expect and or like quaxwell and quaquaval. Maybe it could become more of a fighting type that is not a peacock. Maybe doesnt dance lol.
I never really cared for Incineroar, but Flareath looks too uncanny to me. I was expecting more developement, but it looks like an alternate take on Torracat. It would seem more like a final stage if it were more intimidating like Incineroar and followed through more on the muscular progression. It could be quadrapedal in the same way Pikachu is, running on all fours, but capable of standing when using it's strong forelimbs.
Aquarrior and Frondosaur are my favorite of this batch, Aquarrior especially. The wing ears can also be linked (retroactively) to Mario Kart Blue Shells!
Love all of these designs! This is probably an unpopular opinion (given how popular it is), but I do not like Meowscarada's design AT ALL! When I first saw Floragato, I immediately thought that it was the best looking middle-stage starter Pokémon ever, only for Meowscarada to severely ruin it in my eyes. The main gripe I have is with its huge mask. I would prefer if Floragato went in a different direction than what GameFreak gave us.
I feel like Chesnaught has some potential for a good split given it's rpg inspiration also Cinderace since it loses the mask and primarily black color scheme of Raboot to return to a mainly white body. So making him based on another breed of Hare perhaps as a rival Soccer player, perhaps with a different role than a striker or just try to make it less human like to make it more distinctive
I love wartortle and always thought blastoise's design was so far off from it--that's why I'm not a fan of it. So I love this concept. Aquarroir is cool, but I'm not feeling the spike on the shell. I also always wished meganium would've kept the swishy leaf and that incineroar stayed on four legs. Great vid!
I dont know how much you are into Anime stuff, but a interesting video could be "I turned Vtubers into Pokemon" since some Vtuber designs could honestly be translated as a pokemon quite well (or at least their mascot designs like Ninomae Ina'Nis's Takodachi mascots)
Not that i have ANYTHING against Blastoise, quite the opposite, but They NEED to bring back Squirtle’s original final evolution back somehow in an official capacity. split evolutions for the Kanto Starters IS a good idea, but the pokemon franchise is also not a stranger to the Multiverse Theory…what if we returned to the Kanto region in an alternate universe, where Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur turn into different pokemon entirely? What if Kanto region were totally different, containing SOME of the pokemon we know and love, maybe some are altered slightly, but maybe theres also pokemon we HAVEN’T seen. It could even be an opportunity to bring back early pokemon ideas that were never used. A game like this coukd honestly be VERY FUN.
The Evolution methods for these Spilt Evolutions: 2:44 Wartorle evolves into Aquarrior at level 36 while a Falinks is in your party. 5:22 Bayleef evolves into Fromdosaur after eating 5 different berries. 7:52 Torracat evolves into Flareath at level 34 if Torracat is female. 10:33 Serive evolves into Slithereign at level 36 while at night. Tell me what you guys think and let me know if guys know any better ways to evolve into these Pokemons
Slithereign sounds like Slytherin (from Harry Potter) and I honestly love that. Idk if it was intentional if it does kinda fit the Pokemon. No hate to Slytherins tho lol. My brother is a Slytherin. :)
This made me think of something... There is another set of types that would work for starters, I can't remember what it is right now, but I think it involves psychic... It would be very cool if they used this alternate system for your starters primary types, but each mon's final evolution has a 3 way split, giving you the choice to add grass, water or fire late game.
I do have 2 ideas, one for Cinderace and Intelion, as these dont really match the middle evos (especially Intelion) so maybe an darker/edgier evo for Cinderace, and one based on writers for Intelion
if fuecoco’s final evo has no haters, I am DEAD. Fuecoco was such an incredible fire starter and I loved having it on my team in its first stage, but imo it lost so much of its charm in its second and final stage. If it were up to me, he’d retain more of his goofy charm, and would be more reminiscent of a caiman instead of just another croc. Imo his final evo really just came outta left field randomly, so I’d love to see different interpretations
I always had a soft spot for Meganium, as it was my first ever starter Pokémon, but I have to say Frondosaur is absolutely perfect!! I would maybe tweak the colors a little and make the tail longer, but the overall design is immaculate!!! Great job
For Frogadier, it abandoned the Frubbles upon evolving to Greninja, maybe there could be a split evo, a kunoichi, that focuses to use the frubbles more, maybe a more stealth based mist ninja using frubbles as traps
A Water/Poison type that plants explosive toxic bubbles as traps to disorient and disable opponents? Yes please!

2:57 was that an avatar reference
Haha definitely
Thank you for giving the Chikorita line something. Like I love Typhlosion and Feraligatr, but Meganium deserves better.
I really like Slithereign, though. It pulled me back into the video.
This is sick and your videos are what got me into making fakemon
Great vid!
0:46 oh no
No psyduck 😭
You could make a split ego for quaxwell based on ballerina since quaxwell have a ballerina like feet.
Ron could have easily made blastoise a fairy type for how much it looks like a unicorn/Pegasus
I dont know how much you are into Anime stuff, but a interesting video could be "I turned Vtubers into Pokemon" since some Vtuber designs could honestly be translated as a pokemon quite well (or at least their mascot designs like Ninomae Ina'Nis's Takodachi mascots)
The frondosaur shiny should reference the Hawai’ian royal feather coat
Slithereign is BEAUTIFUL
I’m still convinced that Tropius was meant to be an evolution but they scratched it off and decided to use it as its own design
Highkey love the color progression on frondosaur with bayleef and chikorita like the whole line is a sprout eventually turning into a tree
Wait… 😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 everyone go to 11:03 in the video. (Pay close attention to when he says the name of the Pokémon/fakemon)
Am I the only one who heard the azula reference when describing Aquarrior.
I did too
no, at least two others heard it too
Same. Loved that.
At 9:54 he almost sang “Leaves From the Vine” lol
What was it?
Thank you SO much for doing Bayleef. I love it so much, and it doesn’t give love… man you’re so awesome
I love how the split evo for Squirtle looks more agile too. Honestly one of the problems I’ve got with Blastoise
2:58 that’s rough buddy
The Evolution methods for these Spilt Evolutions:
2:44 Wartorle evolves into Aquarrior at level 36 while a Falinks is in your party.
Bro missed to opportunity to make a bipadel Servine evolution standing on his tail- wait, did he just called it sexy?!😨🤨🏳️🌈❓
Slithereign sounds like Slytherin (from Harry Potter) and I honestly love that. Idk if it was intentional if it does kinda fit the Pokemon. No hate to Slytherins tho lol. My brother is a Slytherin. :)
Me: Doesn't notice the Avatar references until i look at the comments.
Also, me: Hears him, say Slytherin instead of Silthereign
0:46 R.I.P shiny psyduck
Isn't Slithereign an absolute TREAT for the eyes. So far one of my favorite fakemon from you, it's so cunning and grim, I love it
This made me think of something... There is another set of types that would work for starters, I can't remember what it is right now, but I think it involves psychic...
It would be very cool if they used this alternate system for your starters primary types, but each mon's final evolution has a 3 way split, giving you the choice to add grass, water or fire late game.
Slithereign is SO FANTASTIC. As a guy who loves Serperior man oh man did you make an equally good Pokemon.
Great job
bloody hell, the wartortle section gave me a digimon line idea, turtles and valkyries
