    Hello, would the 30kw be sufficient for a 6 bedrooms house, 2 bathrooms and 12 radiators? I need a conventional boiler. Not sure if i need to replace my old cylinder. Thanks

    • @iheat
      @iheat  2 месяца назад

      Hello a 30kW will definitely cover 12 radiators, when we quote for conventional boilers we look at water speed so maybe carry out a quote on the site. In terms of cylinders we sadly do not replace old cylinders but the engineer on the day may recommend getting a new one and possible quoting you privately.

    Hi, you seem to infer that the WB thermostat does modulation, & that the Nest & Hive thermostats do not??, I have a WB 8000 being fitted this week, & I have a Nest thermostat/programmer. I read that from 3rd gen onwards allows modulation of the boiler?

    • @iheat
      @iheat  4 месяца назад

      Worcester do not support opentherm which you would need to allow a thermostat such as the Nest to modulate the boiler. If you want the best compatability I'd go with the easy control, this will offer weather compensation or load compensation depending on which setting you choose.
      The new nests do offer modulation but it would have to be with an opentherm compatible boiler to make the most of this. Don't be put off however, the 8000 is a great boiler and is super efficient. Using any Nest with this boiler is still a great combination and you can make the most of the majority of features.

    Please How do you actually put on the heating/radiator?

    • @VinnyCarwash-js8op
      @VinnyCarwash-js8op 29 дней назад

      put the temperature up higher on the thermostat than the temperature of the house

    • @iheat
      @iheat  28 дней назад

      Same as below, if you have a thermostat turn it up until boiler kicks in. Also check your radiator trv's are open with a number higher than 0.

    I read the pump has been changed to a very inferior model. Is that correct?

    • @iheat
      @iheat  6 месяцев назад +1

      Okay so the 8000 model has always been supplied with a Grundfos A rated pump. There was a time when they had to switch to Wilo for the 4000 range due to chip shortages, however there's no reason to believe this is an inferior product. Regardless, all Worcester Bosch 8000 products are being manufactured with High Efficiency Grundfos pumps at present.

    Would this (or the 45kw) work for a 5 bed house with 1 bathroom, 1 ensuite and 15 radiators?

    • @iheat
      @iheat  9 месяцев назад

      Hey the 45kw would definitely be enough power for that size of property but it would be a slight overkill. Anything around the 35kw mark would suffice based on our quoting site however factors can effect this based on type of house, current boiler etc. Check out a quote on the iHeat site!

    Just had my old WB 37cdi green star replaced with this 8000 model and I must say I think I preferred my old version better as it takes longer for water to heat not good on a water meter.

    Is this superior to the ideal vogue ?

    • @iheat
      @iheat  8 месяцев назад +1

      I would say its a fair match and would just come down to appearance preferences. If its being tucked away in a cupboard out of sight it'll come down to usability, do you prefer the big screen on the front of the 8000 or the flap to hide all controls on the Vogue. Specs pretty similar across the board also , be interesting to know your thoughts on the vogue

    Hi i have been a boiler engineer for 33 years now and to be honest i would not pay for one with my own money. It is nothing but plastic rubbish. I have never seen as much plastic in a single boiler.

    • @iheat
      @iheat  4 месяца назад

      Very interesting angle and I appreciate your thoughts. Have you had issues with the plastic parts over the years or is it just because you know they are made from plastic that makes you feel uneasy. Of course high quality or even brass components would be more sought after but if it brings the price down without any actual downsides, is there any harm?

    • @robertianjohnston7483
      @robertianjohnston7483 4 месяца назад

      No matter how good the plastic is, in due course it is going to go brittle and then break / leak. In my opinion the less plastic the better. That condensate trap on the 8000 series - what is that all about ?? I have always maintained that if the designers had actually to work on the boilers when in situ , they would design them much better.

      Plastic parts in a boiler? My heating engineer advise this for my property and he has been in the business for over 50 years. We had it installed as we changed our home heating to modern radiators from warm air central heating. Cost me 6K all in with a 12 year guarantee!
