Superb video. I had this same boiler installed and I usually avoid all things gadgets, knowing I don't want to call a heating engineer out every time something goes wrong. Your video was very concise and easy to follow.
Great video Mark, very clear and informative! I have an older WB combi boiler and the pressure topping up method on yours is far easier than using the fiddly plastic key (which is a real PITA) on mine. It's nice to know I'm doing pretty much everything you've mentioned in terms of running my boiler efficiently. 🙂
Thank you I just wish the fitters could have explained it better than they did, we have had the boiler 12 months now and so far it has not performed any better than the old Worcester boiler which was not broken in any way when they took out, our yearly service is about to happen and hopefully all will be ok, at the mo I must press the eco button and leave it on! Once again thank you!
I've just moved house, and we have the same boiler. We've tried to set the timer using the app. But it seems to be constantly hot, and the temperature keeps on rising, and rising. Any advice from anyone please. Great video by the way
Hi Mark i have a Worcester Bosh Greenstar 4000 thats in a small house running 3 radiators I would like to know what is the best temp for the system to run at on both menu's this includes the temps in the service menu that you can get into by pushing down the rad and tap buttons for 3 seconds plz i want it warm but not roasting
Hi Mark. Ive been checking out your videos on my New Worcester Greenstar 4000 boiler and The Honeywell control unit. This morning my water and heating is not working. Ive increased the pressure to 0.9 but wont increase any more. the flame indicator light is not coming on when i turn the tap on as though its not igniting. Any help would be appreciated thankyou
Great video! We've recently had one of these installed and was worried great, but in the last week on eco mode the water will heat up and almost immediately start cooling down again so we're not getting consistent hot water when we want to do the dishes or run a bath. Any advice?
Great video I just applied these to my new greenstar 8000 style..have you a video on the neomitis little box that is usually positioned next to and wired into the boiler as I have an orange override light that comes on? Not the thermostat but it a white box like a socket but has rf test amd override on it..hmm..
Great video. Couple.of.points if you can advise Ive got radiator icon but not tap icon How can I read the pressure as it's showing me 3 dash lines not figure
Hi , for a good week or so my boiler kept coming on outside of programmed hours heating my radiators after searching the internet the information that was given kept telling me there was a fault with the system. However, after coming across your video, it turns out that the eco function was not showing so with this now on showing it displayed its now a waiting game to see if it turns on in the middle of night which it as been doing , just a quick question though although the boiler is pre heating , surely my radiator should not be warming up should it not just be the boiler?
Can't figure one. However, if you set the radiator temperature to the lowest settings i.e 30 degrees and thermostat to lowest; heating will probably never come on!
The installation engineer may have fitted a valve, or two in my case, to the boiler feed-in. It is below the boiler, not within the casing. Open the valve/s, and that will increase the water pressure. I did this a few minutes ago, and it worked.
Can I switch my greenstar 4000 on at the boiler... the engineer set it up for thermostate on off as regards heating... on the salus guage there is 'manual' setting is that the key.. its a bit of a pain running up the stairs to turn the heating on at the thermostate.. regards
Thanks for this Video, It is a great video. I was wondering if i can read the KWH used by the boiler. is this data available. My Gas meter isn't working so would like to know how much KWH of gas is used
Hello Mark, I have a Tado thermostat when I switched it off I realised that the boiler was still heating the radiators . I have a Green Star 2000. I switched it off manually but when switched it on again the boiler continued to heat the house up. Is there a way to switch the radiators off from this boiler please without using the Tado? And what do you think is causing this issue ? Thank you very merry ch in advance! Nancy
I have a white triangle with exclamation mark I have reset boiler at the wall there’s a reset button but the triangle exclamation mark keeps coming back not sure what to do
Mr Ballard, Good afternoon My Worcester Bosch 40 CDI boiler is flashing 100% sign, how can I get rid of it and what's causing it to flash. Please HELP!! THANK YOU!!
We've just moved into a house with one of these boilers. The previous owners had the radiator temp set at 60 but we noticed every radiator in the house was turned up to maximum. During the extreme cold snap last week we upped the radiator temp to 65 but adjusted each room to 3 or 4 max. The main problem we have is that the main house thermostat which is located at the bottom of the staircase (stairs lead off living room) never comes near reaching the temperature set - the highest we've ever seen it reach is around 15 so if we set it at 20 degrees the boiler is chugging away constantly. All very confusing for the average Joe!
That the whole system goes off when it reaches hall temp confuses me. We set the hall at 15 as we don't want it too warm. If you set the hall at 20 and then set the room settings it should let it do what it wants to, perhaps. We have each room different and turn them on and off when we're not using them.
@@peternumber19 In our previous house the engineer who serviced the boiler advised setting the hall temperature at 21 because that heats the core of the house and a well insulated house (we had cavity wall insulation and triple glazing) will then remain warmer for longer. It definitely worked very well for us. Keeping the door to every room shut and turning radiators off in certain rooms doesn't really work in a busy household particularly in the holidays with kids constantly moving from room to room up and down stairs.
Having the thermostat in the hall gives a baseline for the house temp. It works best when you have thermostats on all your room's radiators. Rooms infrequently used could be set to frost, and main rooms set to a suitable temp. It is trial and error. Set the hall thermostat temp highish. When the boiler cuts off, i.e. the hall temp reaches the set temp, go to each room and see if the temp is where you would like it. Those set to frost will be cold. You can then assess the other rooms temperatures. If they are warmer than you want, simply turn them down. Wait an hour or so and do another check. You will eventually be able to set all your rooms to the desired temperatures.
hi mate, just arrived from holiday, before I went on holiday I switch off the main power on my worcester bosch boiler, after a week holiday, when I switch on ,there is no power coming .please can you help, many thanks
I just had one of these installed to my existing hot water tank and thermostat/ timer set up. The boiler is on eco mode and I have the hot water and radiator temperatures set low. The boiler will come on and heat water to keep it around 65 degrees on the screen. I notice Mark's is at 28 degrees. It's driving me mad. Everything is set to OFF but it still fires up every so often.
Is there no way to just turn the hot water off compleatly over night ? The same like the heating just has an off option on the thermostat. Or would it need to be on pre heat mode and create a time table
i had this boiler recently instaled never understood why is there 3 settings for 1 thing lol why cant they just make a boiler 1 button i want my home and water this hot if only mine is a worchester greenwood 4000 what settings would you advise for it thank you , advide fir it
Hi Mark. Thanks for the vid. Just one question……. I understand you can turn the radiators off on the boiler, which I’m told is ‘summer mode’. Apparently, when the boiler is in summer mode, there is a diagonal bar through the on screen radiator symbol in the top left of the boiler screen. How can I activate this summer mode, as there’s no instruction on how to do it in the Worcester users manual. However, it does mention it ! Many thanks Mark.
Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge of this boiler. Would you consider doing an in depth look at the WB easy control? There are some functions such as WDC that aren't really explained by WB. Also I'm confused if the water pre-heat (eco mode off) can be "timed" when using the easy control.
When turning the hot tap on, what’s the average time to get hot water out of the tap? Currently it’s taking me about a minute. I’ve tried having eco on and off, and having the water at the highest temp and makes no difference. Any thoughts?
It depends on the distance between the boiler and the tap. When the tap is turned off, the water between tap and boiler will cool down. When the tap is turned on again that cooler water needs to be cleared before the freshly heated water appears.
This video just helped a lot. I had low pressure and couldn’t find a decent video anywhere. This made it so clear. Thanks
Thank you for your brilliantly clear instructions. That's the first time I've had to raise the pressure and you made it so easy...
Compared to the electric heating system. This is a lot more complicated. Gas Central Heating is not recommended.

The best video I have seen in the operation of the bolier. Many thanks.
Yes, most helpful video I've found so far!
Great work Mark, excellent tutorial I had the WB 8000 installed just yesterday , cheers
Thanks for sharing your knowledge, I'm at college learning plumbing NVQ. Your one of the top heating channels on RUclips.
Just had mine installed together with the whole house heating system, all with a 12 year guarantee..
Great video! But can you help me? My boiler isn’t talking to my thermostat. The RF light is flashing. How can I reconnect them?
Brilliant thanks as I'm getting the 4000 fitted soon.
Really helpful. Just had a Greenstar installed
An excellent instructional video. Clear and concise. I learnt a lot. Thanks for posting.

Thank you Mark for making a clear, informative and helpful video.
It's really helpful, I really appreciate your time spending on this video. 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸
Thanks Mark. You are a star 👍
Thanks for this got this boiler today and got more info out this video than the guy today 😆 thanks

Thank you so much, God bless 😊🙏🏻
Thanks so much Mark! Perfect pace and level of info 👌👌
Brilliant Mark I’m just about to have a WB installed so I’m now au fait !
Hi Mark, my check valve is stuck as youve shown towards the end of your video, i cant find the video youve mentioned on this ?
Well done Mark! Shows me just what I wanted to know.💥
thanks so much that is all incredibly clear
Great video explaining the low pressure but can you believe there's no blue lever under the panel on our boiler 😮
Good video! Very helpful
Thank for the great video Mark im having one fitted tomorrow this video will definitely help.

Which video is it that explains how to fix the stuck check valve issue with the boiler top up? Thanks
How to reduce pressure if it is going above 1.5?
Don’t worry it’s fine going over 1.5 it’s when it gets to 3-4 when you start flapping 😂

Is there a way to call for hot water whilst waiting for a broken flow turbine repair?
Any idea how to turn the water on? Mine is set to off for some reason at the moment and I can't seem to get it to come on
does this video also apply to the condensing system boiler version please?
I’ve moved into a rented property with this boiler, I can’t find the menu to set up the programmer?
Why do I get a -65- on the front of the boiler
Thanks
Thanks you
Great video.
Couple.of.points if you can advise
Ive got radiator icon but not tap icon
How can I read the pressure as it's showing me 3 dash lines not figure
I dont have the blue lever, or the 2 tap symbols. Can someone reply...my boiler is only 1 year old, and its Worcester,
Hi, do you know why temperature when u turn it on goes to 81 c even so i set up 40 c ?
Hi Mark. I need to repressurise my Greenstar 8000 Life and it does not have a blue valve handle as shown in your video. What are my options?

@@clairerowe88 No. Just did what @luvabhi3 suggested above

Thanks for this Video, It is a great video. I was wondering if i can read the KWH used by the boiler. is this data available. My Gas meter isn't working so would like to know how much KWH of gas is used
Range rate the heating in the menu massive saving 👀
Does a lower temperature reduce the ridiculously loud noises when the heating is on?
Hi Mark,
Great video 👏🏻
I have a question: is it possible to completely turn off the WB 8000 Life boiler?
How do we actually get our radiators to heat
I have just had one of these boilers fitted, but now my old room thermosate has been taken away, so no longer have one is this correct.
Hello Mark, I have a Tado thermostat when I switched it off I realised that the boiler was still heating the radiators . I have a Green Star 2000. Do these boilers not have a timer function? Do have to turn heating down manually every night then up again in the morning?
Mine is showing low pressure however I don’t have the blue handle!
The user manual says you need to fit an optional integral diverter valve to control the hot water temperature. What is this?
I have a white triangle with exclamation mark I have reset boiler at the wall there’s a reset button but the triangle exclamation mark keeps coming back not sure what to do
