I'm so glad I no longer have a Worcester programmer. I wish you made it far more simple. I have a great Worcester boiler but a different programmer that I can press one button and the heating comes on for 1 hour. press it twice and it comes on for 2 hours, press it three times and it comes on for 3 hours. I rarely use the timer as I work shifts and this works for me.
My issue with this is we turn the thermostat to say 21 degrees, it reaches that temperature, and shuts the radiators down to keep it at 21, the problem with this is the house just seems to lose heat quickly and there isn't that slow radiator cool down period from the previous simple on/off boiler we used to have.
You could have poor insulation in your property which is not retaining heat very well. Depending how cold it is outside will depend how quick it drops in temp again
Same issue with me, but my place does have poor insulation. The way I counter this is by increasing the temp but only in small increments...e.g. if the temp is 14 degrees, I'll set it to 15, then 16, etc.
Thanks mate, was doing my head in trying to work it out with the online manual. Wasn't clear regarding clicking in the wheel button and holding down the menu button.
great video, thanks! Quick question, what happens to the orginal thermostat? We have one in the hall where its coldest and want a moveable one such as this.
To understand right time setting 1 is when boiler start and time setting 2 is when is turning off? Like for example i want 20.5° between 6.30am to 8.30am let say? Or is just for hole day and what temp will be on different hrs?
Bottom of the unit is a tiny slot, you need to get a flat screwdriver in there any prize it away. It then separates from the wall bracket 👍 batteries are there. You can also buy a stand if you don’t want it on the wall
I have this thermostat but it's not turning on even though I changed the batteries. Any ideas? It worked previously but then stopped. Thanks for the vid.
I have the same problem. No RF signal said and I took out the key from the boiler, turned the boiler on without key, boiler off, put in the key, boiler on and still have the same problem. If I touch on the thermostat the heating button is not reactive at all. On the display is still ON.
Hi, thanks for all your help - I just wanted to check, using the settings you exampled - does it mean that the heating is off from 10pm until 7am? Ideally i just want three periods 6am-10am @ 24c, 10am until 6pm @ 20c and 6pm until 6am the next day @ 18c. I cant find anywhere how to leave the heating at 18c all night!
Sure, in order to leave your temperature 18 at night you need to set the off temperature to 18 during that time period. Example - 20c pm -10pm 18c 10pm - 6am
If you just turn the dial and press nothing else, does it just raise the temperature temporarily or does it mess with the whole setting? My folks are out of town and I was cold as hell but they're a bit particular about these things and if it's 4 degrees hotter every Monday I think they'll begin to suspect I messed with it 😂
Depends on the mode. If it's set to 'auto', it will change it until the next timer setting position is reached, then it will revert to that and return to the programmed values. If it's on 'on', you will change it permanently, until someone changes mode to 'auto' or 'off'. So take note of the value before twisting, so you can set it back again later. If on 'off', it will be 5 oC and turning dial will not adjust this! You would have to change mode, then set it back to 'off' later. In all cases, turning dial won't alter the programmed timers they've set up.
Stupid question. When I want to amend the settings, for example we are going out for most of the day, how do I save the new settings? When I review the settings it shows the old ones. Another thing. I have set Monday to Friday. If I then select Thursday for different times does that overule the Monday/Friday programme?
Impressed with so many questions answered OP! How does the boiler know which time program to use? e.g. If I set mon, tue, wed etc all separately and then set Mon-Fri timers, will it just take the last one I set (Mon-Fri) and ignore the individual days previously set? And how would I get back to individually set days? Do I just set them again and the device will change the option from Mon-Fri to Mon, Tue, Weds individually set times?
I can answer this question for you, as was also confused, so tested it. If you set the Mon-Fri setting, you will see it overwrites each individual Mon, Tues, Wed, Thur, Fri settings with the one you've just set. Same with Sat-Sun setting, will overnight both Sat and Sun days individual settings. Now, if you want to customise the odd day, go into that day's settings, e.g. Wed, and edit those settings. You'll see this day is now different, but the rest retain the other settings. Do the same to any other individual day you want to be different. To set them all back to Mon-Fri or Sat-Sun values, just go through those settings again and the individual days will be overwritten again. In other words, each day has its own settings, the Mon-Fri and Sat-Sun is just a quick way of changing a block of them in one go! There are NO different programmes for the different blocks, it's just a quick way of setting each of the 7 days in one, well two goes! Hope that helps.
We have this thermostat. The CH is in off position temp showing as 20 degrees. When I push the circle I get permanently 5 degrees. Yesterday evening the heating came on randomly. Can u explain. Thank you very much
Hi, when you twist the dial the central heating will only come on when the temperature of your room drops below the permanent setting! The heating should never operate in the off position or when current temperature is above the desired permanent temperature. Hope that helps
Hi , i have programmed it to come on lets say at the mo its selected as 5:45 - 7.00 am and 14:00 - 16:00 pm but i hear it fire up outside of these times and heat the radiators , i’m quite paranoid thinking when I’m out of the house mainly at work it will turn on any suggestions?
Have set CH weekly programme. But getting no heating have tried turning dial up and pressing but heat not increasing. Pressing On and Adv. Any ideas? Thanks.
Try it on manual control. Heating on. Twist dial to 25. If control doesn’t work at all. It needs replacing. If it works on manual, there’s an issue on the timer side
I’ve set the heating times but the bars on the bottom are all on. So the heating won’t go on to auto. I’ve done the water settings and that looks like your video. What have I done wrong ?
Hi ii am renting a property with this thermostat and have just been pressing buttons randomly. It now says Key Lock. Do I need to get rid of this message. Any help would be would be appreciated. Thanks
When I try to increase the temperature with the dial it moves randomly and not high enough for what we need. We have not had any problems previously. The thermostat is approximately 7 years old. Help please.
Hi there. Sometimes the flame Sybil takes a while to show up. When the unit goes to sleep after a few seconds, wake it back up and the symbol will show. 👍
Hello. My boiler seems to be not stopping at all. I've programmed the hours. Does the end temperature (let's say 6am at 15 degrees till 12pm at 16 degrees) mean that boiler will try to keep that temperature up until next period of heating? Thanks for any help!
So if the off temperature is high the system will remain on, until the next programmed on time, that might explain while on Auto my heating isn’t going off at night.
could this stat be faulty my mother in law has had a new boiler with this exact same stat, you turn the dial even to 28 and heating dont come on, also the hot water comes out and then goes cold, waiting on the installer to get back in touch with us
Press the radiator sign top left. Keep pressing until the top left display says ON… then simply twist the circle dial and choose how warm you’d like your property. That’s it 👍
Hi Adam i have the Worcester RF1 thermostat but the principal is just the same , my question is when pressing the dial in the settings menu what does DST mean
Just moved into my first home and was panicking how to use the thermostat! Thank you that makes so much sense!!
Glad it helped!
Thanks ....simple, clear instruction. I was tearing my hair out reading the manual which is no use at all 😂
Lol! No problem at all 👍
I didn't understand the manual either. It was so stressful.
Just moved into a house with one of these and no manual. Thanks for explaining it so clearly!
Glad it was helpful!

This superseded the original. 👍
Fantastic review!! Thanks for making this
Glad you liked it!

So do you just plug the Receiver in the bottom of the boiler and it works or do you need to connect it some way
Yes. As easy as that. Auto connects 👍
Thanks a lot!!! Really useful!!!
Good explanation 👌
How do I replace the battery in the control box? How do I get it off the wall ? Slide it up?
Tiny slot at bottom of unit, prize open with a small flat screwdriver to reveal the x2 AA batteries
@@newboilerblackpool thanks 😊, job done 👍
How do you change the temperature of the water heating?
You have to do that on the boiler not the control. This is for room temp only
Hi how do I remove it to use as mobile unit. Does it have a back to cover exposed batteries?
Bottom of the unit is a tiny slot, you need to get a flat screwdriver in there any prize it away. It then separates from the wall bracket 👍 batteries are there. You can also buy a stand if you don’t want it on the wall
I have this thermostat but it's not turning on even though I changed the batteries. Any ideas? It worked previously but then stopped. Thanks for the vid.
It may require re pairing. I don’t have a video for that currently.
Will try upload one soon 👍
I have the same problem. No RF signal said and I took out the key from the boiler, turned the boiler on without key, boiler off, put in the key, boiler on and still have the same problem. If I touch on the thermostat the heating button is not reactive at all. On the display is still ON.
How do u switch just heating off in summer
Either press the top left button until it reads OFF. Or when ON … twist dial to a low temperature and it won’t come on in summer 👍

See other comment for this 👍

What is the 5th time setting for? Iv already set the on/off times for the morning and evening.
I have this excat thermostat and its drilled to the wall can we remove it so we can take it to bed with us? Its battery powered not on the mains?
Yes you can do so, it’s battery powered and can be used mobile 😊
We have this thermostat. The CH is in off position temp showing as 20 degrees. When I push the circle I get permanently 5 degrees. Yesterday evening the heating came on randomly. Can u explain. Thank you very much
Hi, when you twist the dial the central heating will only come on when the temperature of your room drops below the permanent setting! The heating should never operate in the off position or when current temperature is above the desired permanent temperature. Hope that helps
i Want it to just come on once in the morning and off at night
Hi , i have programmed it to come on lets say at the mo its selected as 5:45 - 7.00 am and 14:00 - 16:00 pm but i hear it fire up outside of these times and heat the radiators , i’m quite paranoid thinking when I’m out of the house mainly at work it will turn on any suggestions?
Make sure the OFF temperature is set very low. Otherwise it will come on during its off period if the house drops in temp
Just had one fitted....does anyone know how I just turn the heating on manually??
Press the select button top left, until the screen says ON, then just twist the dial up and down to regulate the temp. Easy 💪
Hi... Can you tell me how to link the controller with the boiler please???
It auto links via a cartridge under the boiler…..
@newboilerblackpool well I had to by a new controller and all the connection are lost... So I don't know how to pair the controller with the boiler
how do you install it? i.e. change the existing one for this model?
Have set CH weekly programme. But getting no heating have tried turning dial up and pressing but heat not increasing. Pressing On and Adv. Any ideas? Thanks.
Try it on manual control. Heating on. Twist dial to 25. If control doesn’t work at all. It needs replacing. If it works on manual, there’s an issue on the timer side
I’ve set the heating times but the bars on the bottom are all on. So the heating won’t go on to auto.
I’ve done the water settings and that looks like your video. What have I done wrong ?
Stupid question. What’s best for water? Auto or on. Obvs want it readily available for showers/dishes etc.
Doesn’t matter if you have a combi boiler. That feature is for use on regular systems . Just keep
ON 👍
I have a problem with mines, when I press the any buttons it doesn’t light up anymore is because of the batteries?
If something goes wrong with this thermostat, how do you put the heating on!? I can't see anywhere on the boiler.
You can’t unfortunately, it will require either a factory reset or unlinking from the boiler
Hi ii am renting a property with this thermostat and have just been pressing buttons randomly. It now says Key Lock. Do I need to get rid of this message. Any help would be would be appreciated. Thanks
Hi, please what can I do if saya, key lock! When I tried to put on
How do I turn the timer settings off. Thx We want to just leave it on low overnight manually. Thankyou.
Heating button on top let, press untill it says ON. Then just use the dial to twist up or down to your desired temperature 🤝
Do I need to put a timer for the hot water (tap icon) for my heating to work on a timer ? Do they work separately?
Completely separate for combi boilers 👍
I’ve changed the batteries on mine and it still doesn’t display anything - what could it be ??
Could be a faulty unit, it may be under warranty with Bosch. Call your installer or Bosch 👍
How do I remove the controller from the wall plate for ease of setting
Tiny flat screwdriver under the unit to prize it away from backplate 👍
When I try to increase the temperature with the dial it moves randomly and not high enough for what we need. We have not had any problems previously. The thermostat is approximately 7 years old. Help please.
It should twist up to 30 degrees. What does yours twist to?
My Worcester Bosch boiler is working, but the control panel is blank even though I've renewed the batteries.
Sounds like a faulty board inside the control I’m afraid. May require replacing
What’s wrong when displays Na
Nothing. Will work as normal
Hello mate, do you know why the fire icon isn’t showing up? When I say isn’t showing up I mean the fire icon is not flashed
Hi there. Sometimes the flame Sybil takes a while to show up. When the unit goes to sleep after a few seconds, wake it back up and the symbol will show. 👍
Thank you so much was in plain English for such as me sorted 😊
Hello. My boiler seems to be not stopping at all. I've programmed the hours. Does the end temperature (let's say 6am at 15 degrees till 12pm at 16 degrees) mean that boiler will try to keep that temperature up until next period of heating? Thanks for any help!
Use the second temperature as the “off”temperature. Turn the off temp quite low if you want the heating off and no risk of coming on
So if the off temperature is high the system will remain on, until the next programmed on time, that might explain while on Auto my heating isn’t going off at night.
Mine doesn't come on on certain days at all no matter what I do to it
l have never had a control that keeps an ambient temp,a bit confusing till you understand it,really need a better instructions
My remote is not turning the heating on. Can you tell me why?
Turn heating ON, twist dial to 25. Check boiler. Could be a signal issue or boiler issue. You can reset these units too
could this stat be faulty my mother in law has had a new boiler with this exact same stat, you turn the dial even to 28 and heating dont come on, also the hot water comes out and then goes cold, waiting on the installer to get back in touch with us
Usually under the boiler there is a cartridge . This is the signal box for the unit. That should be pushed fully in and the colour green. Check this 👍
Please how do u set a heater without setting a timer
Press the radiator sign top left. Keep pressing until the top left display says ON… then simply twist the circle dial and choose how warm you’d like your property. That’s it 👍
Hi Adam i have the Worcester RF1 thermostat but the principal is just the same , my question is when pressing the dial in the settings menu what does DST mean
Daylight saving time . 👍 I’d ignore this and not complicate things 😅
Hoping this works as I just don't get it and only want the heating to come on in the evening, not during the day 🤔
It works a treat. Follow the video 🤝
My comfort ll don't show how much gas i have used and the boiler pressure
It shows the boiler pressure in the settings menu 👍
@@newboilerblackpool Not on mine it don't
1:47 "It's pretty self-explanatory"....😆🤣😂😆😂🤣
Mine is locked I don’t know how to fix it please help me I’m freezing up in Scotland 😂
This device is bloody useless...thanks so much!
Absolute awful timer to work out, if you’re not a nasa space rocket scientist
I’ve just explained it very easily. Good luck 🤞
What a bloody nightmare i just dont bother with it give me back my old boiler
What's the top right button?
Hot water (but not required when used with a combi boiler) 😊
