    Wanted to leave a comment to say how massively grateful I am for this tutorial!! Carefully navigating my way through barely livable conditions in student lettings, and a very unhelpful landlord - this has saved me and my housemates from a some painfully cold nights!! Much love from some very grateful students in Birmingham x

    I have struggled for weeks with the printed instructions for my Danfoss, always concerned about overnight. Your video explained everything in a few minutes. You should volunteer to rewrite the official instructions, in which nowhere can I find any reference to the fact that the off setting provides a minimum temperature below which the room will jot fall. Thanks CJ

    • @theheatingpro
      @theheatingpro  Год назад

      Hi Bobby, Easiest way is to switch to frost mode. It will then not come on unless the temp drops below 5 degrees which gives you a safety policy, but htis also allows you to run it manually, up and down with the arrows to bring it on and turn it off.

      Hi Kathryn, I have had this recently with one of these stats. It was on one of my New Build sites and was within two years warranty so I changed it out so as not to have a possible return and unhappy customer. It may be worthwhile trying a reset on the stat. This may well work for you as I didn't really have the option to test'to see if it did.

    • @theheatingpro
      @theheatingpro  5 лет назад +2

      dmc12gsr Hi, with two stats I would imagine they are hard wired stats and not RF stats (wireless version which may need reconnecting). Is the flame symbol coming on when you demand heat, if so I would be looking at the zone valve. The stat when it is calling for heat then sends power to the zone valve which then in turn sends power for the boiler to fire up. Try switching the zone valve to manual, I suspect you may need a new zone valve head.
      Hope this helps

    My house temperature is 30 !!! I tried to change the temperature but it doesn't work, the target is 5 but the room temperature keep staying between 29-30. And it's September in England. How to make it works ? As I don't see the heating s actually on but the room temperature is too high .

    • @theheatingpro
      @theheatingpro  7 лет назад

      isabel lu Is the flame symbol showing on your stat? If you have no flame symbol and the boiler is firing sounds like a problem elsewhere. Does your system have two zones? Ie two stats one upstairs one downstairs? If so could be either a zone valve is locked open manually or faulty causing your boiler to fire constantly. Come back to me on these and I will try and help you out regards Roger www.cparkinson.com

    • @theheatingpro
      @theheatingpro  6 лет назад +1

      @@flasheart3817 Hi Tricky, You are most likely already over the temperature you want to set. Press + and - buttons together to get the actual room temperature. If the flame symbol is on it is calling for the boiler and rads to come on. Set the target temp to where you want it and if actual room temp is higher it wont come on and show flame until it falls below this.

    Thanks for the video. We currently have a problem with ours. For no clear reason, the screen now flashes between 10:00 with 00 in the little temperature section, and 03:00 with sr in the little temperature section.
    No matter what is pressed, even if we hit reset, change the batteries, hold buttons down or whatever it will not move off this flashing screen. As far as we can tell the heating is no longer being controlled by this stat.

      FilmsRapidFire Hi, sounds like you have either entered the advanced settings or have a service interval set on it. The best way to try and clear it if it is a change of advanced settings is to perform a full reset. To do this you need to press and hold prog button then the reset. It will clear all event times and any advanced user settings.

      theheatingpro.com hi there. Thanks for replying so quickly! I have tried holding Prog and Reset for anywhere between 3 and 10 seconds and nothing seems to change. The screen goes off and then when I release the buttons it goes back to flashing what I said above.
      I’ve tried holding reset and either or both of the up and down arrows. Holding both plus and minus buttons. Almost every button combo you can think of. The only button combo that seems to do anything is holding both up and down arrows for 5 or so seconds. Then the screen displays dimmed versions all icons at once. Occasionally it will switch to showing the current room temperature along with what looks like a little suitcase icon just left of the top-centre. It’s doing some weird stuff!

    So glad I found this video as instruction booklet bit misleading, however, thankfully with your easy to follow instructions I finally understand how simple it is to programme correctly. It's just a shame that I have 2 of these thermostats in a very small apartment so it's going to take a few days to tweak the correct temperatures for each zone but will get there in the end. Thank you.

    very helpful! I have followed the steps to setup all 4 programs on weekdays and weekends. However, the one outside bathroom is completely not working according to the programs. It keeps stay around 25-28C no matter I set all programs at 6:30am 15C, 7:30 10C, 19:30 20C, 2030 10C,, it just stays around 25-28C. The thermostats connects to HIU. Do you know what is the reason behind? many thanks!

      Hi Adrian,
      Couple of questions to hopefully shed some light on it.
      Do the upstairs rads ( I am taking it this is where the ouside bathroom stat is) come on when you dont want them to or not turn off at all?
      Is the other zone (taking it two zone?) working ok, rads come one when stat is calling for heat and turn off when its not?
      What temp do you have downstairs stat set to?
      Answer these and it me help me work out what is going on

      @@theheatingpro Hi Roger, thanks for your quick reply! Basically I am in a 2bedroom apartment and thats why we have four separate stats in 2 bathroom, 2 bedrooms. Those inside bedroom are working fine which means it shows the temperature constantly 20C even I set the program or not as I dont need heating at bedroom at all. I only need underfloor heating for one bathroom in the morning and evening during shower. Both bathroom stat are not working according to the program set i mentioned above. I browsed most of the comments from others who left here, I found that if the stat is working / heating, there is a flame icon which i never found it in 4 stats in my place. I tried to set the defrost function to 5C or even lower to "off" but still the heating in bathroom is turning on like 24 x7 :( I could imagine the bills would be insane and how could I control it during summer... appreciate if you could help me.

    I have 2 Danfoss tp4000 hardwired not wireless units controlling my Ideal Logic 35 boiler. All units are 4 years old, Barratts new build from 2016. In the last 24 hrs I have noticed that manual adjustment of the downstairs thermostat doesn't fire the boiler- regardless of maxing out the temp. The thermostat 'clicks' as it always has done at the required temp, and when manual adjustments are inputted above the current room temperature, but the boiler doesn't react at all... It remains on standby. The display shows the 'flame' symbol but a few seconds later the boiler doesn't fire as it always used to. The upstairs unit responds normally when putting the temp up. This seemingly delivers heat to the upstairs and downstairs radiators. Hot water demand is unaffected and reliable. I initially thought this was a boiler prob but have a feeling it's the tp4000- I gather this is no longer available. Can anyone out there help me? Tried resetting the unit, replacing batteries etc but no change in the communication between the thermostat and boiler.. help!

    • @theheatingpro
      @theheatingpro  4 года назад

      NNICKKK Hi, I would think most likely is neither boiler or roomstat but your zone valve for the downstairs zone has seized or failed. Do you know where they are located and how to override it to manual? Come back to me if not

I have replaced them but the unit keeps flashing 10:00 and even if I press the +- and ^v buttons, it doesn't change. I have also tried the reset. If I press ^v the screen displays every single character...

    • @theheatingpro
      @theheatingpro  3 года назад +1

      Hi Angeloudaki,
      After changing the battery you have to get the stat and the receiver to communicate again.
      First step is to press the reset on the stat. Then press V and + buttons for 3 seconds, this will make the stat send a signal for 3 minutes. Go to the receiver at the boiler and press PROG and CH1 together for 3 seconds until the green light flashes once. Then head back to your stat and press either V or ∆ (up arrow) and it will put the stat back in normal operation.
      Hope this helps

    Hi again! Got a couple of Qs...
    1. If you've got it on for 2hrs to reach 18° and in that time it reaches that temp should the heating go off?
    2. You mentioned frost setting if you're away, does the house not need to be more than 5° to avoid damp etc.?
    3. My thermostat is in the hallway, the nearest radiator is a few steps away in the dining room or 10 steps away by the back door. Every single radiator in the house has a TRV, am I right in thinking this messes with the thermostat?
    Thanks so much!

    • @theheatingpro
      @theheatingpro  2 года назад +1

      Hi Beb4,
      1. Yes once 19 degrees is achieved stat will switch off boiler , when stat drops to 17 it bring boiler back on so you average the 18 degrees temp you set within the 2 hr period once it has done your initial heat up.
      2. Frost stat setting is to guard against frost bursts to your pipes and boiler rather than damp issues. An internal temp of 5 degrees usually means that the external temp is below freezing. With the flue allowing that cold air to pass into the boiler it may freeze the pipework and leave untold damage to the boiler and in turn the pipes in your house. It is a safety measure to set it to frost in times where is it possible to get those freezing temps.
      3. Your stat acts as the max temp you wish to achieve in the house and governs this. The trvs on each rad allows you to set individual temps in each room, so cooler than others if you choose.
      Hope this helps

    • @theheatingpro
      @theheatingpro  7 лет назад +1

      Robert Mitchell It is more likely that your off temps are too high Robert, it is very rare the internal temp will fall to 5 degrees. The off times are a set back temp which says until the next on time do not let the house fall below this temperature. Commonly these are set too high which keeps your heating on overnight and not to do with your frost setting

    • @theheatingpro
      @theheatingpro  3 года назад

      Hi Tom,
      Simply press the up and down arrow together and it will go into frost mode. This means the heating will not come on unless it falls below 5 degrees. Made really for colder times and as a frost prevention when you are away from the property at times when a cold spell may be possible but also the easiest way of turning the stat off in the summer. To go back to normal auto setting just push those up and down arrows again. No need to alter all your settings and wont come on until you set back to normal auto mode.
      Hope this helps.
