Galaxy S23 vs iPhone 14 Months Later - In this video, I discuss my experience with both entry-level Samsung S line and Apple iPhone 14, share your thoughts, experiences, and pick below! Enjoy the video :) P.S. I didn't cover battery, but both have lasted a full day of use with medium to heavy use with the 14 slightly edging out the S23 in standby time.
Samsung anytime performance and battery are basically the same in terms of freedom Samsung is the better option and android is much easier organised better option than ios basically Samsung has way more than apple
5 or 6 hours easily lasts me a full day no problem...i upgraded from a A52s Its basically 95% the same experience just that the S23 is so smooth everything is that just little bit faster you definitely notice it when using the phone ...wont be thinking of upgrading now until the s26..
I was at Tomorrowland on Friday and used the S23. HDR10 + on and I am very satisfied with the quality during the day and also with the sound, of course I will not stand 5 cm from the speakers, but at the rise stage I was not very far from it and no creaking, very pure sound. The S23 is a great smartphone for its size. Only if you want to zoom more do you sit better with the S23 Ultra, I think.
why would you choose a slower phone that lags when you have multiple apps open, gaming, and slower on your every day used social media apps. front camera like a phone from 2012… with the back camera you wouldn’t be able to tell which one is which compared to the iphone… you choose it because it lets you customize the app icons into a theme like a kid?

It feels like unless you go for the iphone 14 pro varient, you are better off with S23. I mean it launched at 80k(70k) right now in India and it's offering what 60HZ Display, 2 set of camera (main 12mp), last year's processor, and guess what IOS wow nice update. And those of you thinking 60hz in iphone is same as 120hz, bruh, use a 120hz display flagship phone u won't wanna go back to 60hz.
Nothing wrong with saying the s22 had an overheating problem, its true. Both snapdragon and exynos was manufactured by Samsung and both were physically flawed. Some are okay but alot suffer from really bad overheating due to physically flawed chipsets. No ammount of software optimization will make it good. I suggest skipping the s22 line completely for anyone looking to buy a Galaxy. Better stick with the 888 in the s21 series.
Honestly don't buy a compact phone for gaming. They lack any sort of cooling chamber, so they heat up pretty fast compared to a normal, larger phone (which also has lot more room for heat dissipation).

Hey Nick! I have a question.. I got myself a SB (Space Black) iPhone 14 Pro Max, And i had a iPhone 12 (Black), this is my first Pro, Should i have kept my 12?
Should we worry about the white screen of death? I've had it with my S20 and I've since been apprehensive about purchasing the S23. Kindly share your opinion 🙏
Hey Nick. I have an iPhone 13 pro max 256gb. I'm thinking about switching it up for S23... The main reason is that it is too heavy and too big for me (280g with case..) and I don't have any other Apple products. Also my battery life is now at 86% which is quite bad.. On the other side I love the video quality of the phone and how smooth it works. I can grab a S23 for around 500$ and its going to be brand new compared to my 13PM - almost 2 years. What do you think - is that a downgrade or is it worth it?
you can’t order it and just try it out, then if you don’t like it, just return it? whenever i buy a new phone, i go to the story to try it out and look at videos like this. my sister bought the s22, she didn’t like it and returned it
With the Iphone 15 now released, it just blows my mind how people keep letting Apple get away with putting a 60Hz display on an 800$ phone...anyone who uses a 120Hz+ display for like a week would not be able to come back down to 60Hz.
Ssssstthhhh.... It's well known apple people brains are using the same area as religious people brain. It's just faith and belief in product. Most don't even know specs inside
The only factor that stops me from getting a Samsung is simply the battery. Considering the battery life alone, I would be getting the ultra. iPhone battery life is hard to beat when it’s all you’re used to.
Those days are over, the battery had some problems in samsung, but because they gave you a lot in terms of screen for the battery to hold, but now s23 has better times than iphone
@@ruga129 yeah but s23 can go to 120hz, and if not needed goes down to 10 hz, to me that in 2023 is needed, in a phone that is gonna be super expensive

Thats false, iphone has worst battery life and can only outlast samsung because the screen is far worse, but if you use 60 hz on samsung wich you can, samsung will hold for much more time
I went from an old Samsung to iPhone 14. I’m 3 weeks in. I’m def going back to Samsung. This video solidified it for me. The 14 isn’t offering me anything that’s wow’d me. And, I thought Apple was supposed to be more user friendly? I either misunderstood, haven’t given it enough time, or it’s just not. Cons: minimizing screen to display tabs. No back button. No split screen. Can’t view all recent history of a contact. Don’t like the way it displays notifications (mostly when phone is locked). I prefer finger print over iPhones Face ID. iPhone feels like it’s made of cheap materials in hand. Feels bulky in hand. The way Google Calendar displays. No caps lock? I could go on and on. Pros: Different focus modes - specifically sleep mode. Ability to react to a specific message using emojis. The way iPhone interacts with other iPhones. Thanks for helping me make up my mind about whether I should give the iPhone more time. Ordering the S23.
I am waiting for another price drop for the 13 so I can buy my wife the 13 and a mid range APS C camera like Sony a6700 plus a decent lens.... that would be a much better value than the 15 pro or 14 pro max
You can hit the option for 4K yes but that doesn’t mean your seeing full 4K because the display is not 4K same as iPhone. If you want a true 4K display, you would want to try Sony smartphones
You would not honestly see the difference between 1440p and 4k on a phone. It's just too small of a screen. Even on a 4K TV you have to be real close to see pixels.
Just completed a 250 km long trail walk where my s21 kept calling emergency services and taking screenshots in my pocket. I am sick and tired of the Samsung SW experience and have decided to switch to iPhone in the near future. My walking companion did not have any issues with her iPhone 14. This will be my first iPhone after using Android since the HTC Desire.
@@_Anakin_Skywalker I think there used to be an option to turn it off, but it has been removed. I changed to SOS number to my phone number to avoid this issue. Btw. the iPhone 14 works great. I especially like the Face id feature which Android is severely lacking.
@apn42 it's a trade off. You get Face ID but lose your ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. Also I've never had an issue with dialing out or screenshots in my pocket. Even on my s10+ and it being an ergonomic nightmare.
I am really thinking trading in my iphone 14 for the S23. Recently my charging port on the Iphone has died, seeing all the info out there on that I am guessing this with the iphone 14 this is common problem.
I wish s23 ultra did not have a curved screen. I’m kind of tired of the lack of necessary changes on the iPhone. Dynamic Island is a joke, camera looks huge and the price of IPhones are going up to a ridiculous amount. The only ecosystem I have going on is my watch asking with family members that have iPhones. 😢 I feel stuck.
@@katinasoutherland7693 Is it worth the extra charge for incremental changes? It is like kicking a dead horse. The camera keeps getting bigger and better (supposedly) and heavier. Don’t get me wrong, I really do like my iPhone 14 but the cameras are ridiculous…and the dynamic island is more intrusive than the notch. Why can’t Apple make a punch hole design?
@@lormor460they can't make the punch hole because the notch/ dynamic island houses Face ID. With a punch hole, there's no way you could have a secure and fast TrueDepth Camera system for Face ID to work. And tbh, in my opinion the punch hole looks somehow uglier and more annoying than the notch/ island, despite the fact that the notch is a lot bigger 😂
Thank you for a great and honest review! I am also choosing between these two phones. My brain says take the S23, however the heart directs me to the iPhone 14. The S23 is better in almost every aspect, but I do not like the shiny sides and the colours of the S23. According to the DXO Mark, both cameras scores the same. I know the S23 has a telephoto lens which helps with zooming. I plan to take pictures and videos mainly of my kids and perhaps some panaroma. I have already an older A-series Samsung and I am used to the Google eco-system, but I would like to also try the iOS. I have the opportunity to buy them for half the price as a bussiness cellphone, so the price is not the biggest issue here. The question is either to buy an iPhone 14, 15 or S23.

This phone has pretty much everything a person can ask for except one thing, somewhat I feel that the battery could be a little better, a 4200/4300 mAh battery capacity can make this phone unbeatable. Maybe I am the only one who runs for SOT.
Samsung might provide better value for money options but in terms of longevity Apple is still better. Android software updates are very infrequent, with time android phones will slow down but this doesn’t happen with iPhones.
One of the biggest factors when deciding which one to buy is the durability on software updates, I do not believe Samsung holds up as much as iPhones on delivering updates to their older devices

699$ in my country 8/256GB.
Always the best reviews😊
It feels like unless you go for the iphone 14 pro varient, you are better off with S23. I mean it launched at 80k(70k) right now in India and it's offering what 60HZ Display, 2 set of camera (main 12mp), last year's processor, and guess what IOS wow nice update. And those of you thinking 60hz in iphone is same as 120hz, bruh, use a 120hz display flagship phone u won't wanna go back to 60hz.
@@ruga129 what? You can't even set an S23 to 90 Hz. The only options are a) locked at 60 Hz and b) adaptive 24-120 Hz
Great Video Nick, I'm always looking forward to your comparison videos
Thanks, Nick! Great information...
Love my IPhone 14. Come from iPhone 11
Great video! Thank You!
Do you have any camera issues ; like blurry pictures, when you take pictures of documents ? I heard about the banana gate issue on s23😕
The S23 is much better!
Thank you for comparison. But i really was looking for battery usage comparison=(
WHat about the battery ? I am interested in the battery.
Which better longs term use
It’s saddening to see people starting fights over what phone is better
Nothing wrong with saying the s22 had an overheating problem, its true. Both snapdragon and exynos was manufactured by Samsung and both were physically flawed. Some are okay but alot suffer from really bad overheating due to physically flawed chipsets. No ammount of software optimization will make it good. I suggest skipping the s22 line completely for anyone looking to buy a Galaxy. Better stick with the 888 in the s21 series.
at 12:00 noticed running waves on iPhone, is it low Hz frequency?
Iphone 14 is 60hz
Even though the Galaxy S23 has a better design, I wouldn't give up the iPhone 14 for it. iOS is a better operating system than Android.
How about a Lil bit gaming also, which one performs well and about the battery 🔋 ?
Honestly don't buy a compact phone for gaming. They lack any sort of cooling chamber, so they heat up pretty fast compared to a normal, larger phone (which also has lot more room for heat dissipation).
@@mihirojha4475 I bought 14 pro . anyway thanks 👍
@mihirojha4475 crazy how you're calling larger phones normal. I remember when what you call "compact phones" were the large phones years ago.
I use an iPhone 14 6.1 inch and it does the job.
Always like the explanation of urs of comparing videos
Glad you enjoy them! Look forward to making more
'Poor people don't buy Android'..... 'Yeah but smart people do'
Great content. 1ui blows away, iOS. There's a 100 times more customization the s23. The iPhone can't touch s23 in so many categories.
Well iOS is way more stable
@@diandrecarty4512can't even use full potential of 5g with an I phone, one of my friend have an iPhone 14 5g with jio SIM the maximum speed he gets is 5-14mbps while another friend of mine uses an IQ phone with same SIM, gets 30-50 Mbps most the time 💀

I guess the s23 is superior, but i have the 14 and im happy. Im not in apple ecosistem, i simply like ios more ✌️
The S23 is just a superior device overall
hi i stand in choose between samsung s23 used or iphone 12 pro used which is better and do I notice the better one. Like in photos or battery or social media photos etc.
*in agony* here deliberating over (if even the €€€ comes together) a Samsung s23 or an iPhone.....
So, it was *refreshing* to see your title with the crucial words included: "MONTHS LATER" .. Blessings for 2024!
The problem is ios software is getting worse each year, its full of bugs. Things like the haptic motor turning off at random, buttons not working, even no ringtone ringing with incoming calls. I was an iPhone fan since the 3G, but really considering the Samsung. Is the Samsung software reliable nowadays? How is it on bugs?
Its reliable since android 5
i like samsung s23 but ios software is solid nice, imo, i like how premium the iphone icons look in general
Where can I get that iPhone wallpaper
S23 better value for 💰

S23 😍😍
Hey Nick! I have a question..
I got myself a SB (Space Black) iPhone 14 Pro Max, And i had a iPhone 12 (Black), this is my first Pro, Should i have kept my 12?
Big upgrades to the 14 Pro Max, 12 is getting a bit dated at this point
Should we worry about the white screen of death? I've had it with my S20 and I've since been apprehensive about purchasing the S23.
Kindly share your opinion 🙏
Which one is better in signal reception(4g/5g)??
S23 is the best phone I've owned. Pretty much perfect for my needs.
Welcome bro i switch from 13 to s23 i dont know about 13 pro 13 provide only 60 hz
@@akash_s_b13 pro 120hz panels
From my point of view, keep the iPhone and buy the s23 so that the experience is unique
you can’t order it and just try it out, then if you don’t like it, just return it?
whenever i buy a new phone, i go to the story to try it out and look at videos like this. my sister bought the s22, she didn’t like it and returned it
Go with the s23 plus. It's 6.6 inches and still much lighter than the iPhone 13 pro max
14 months now I'm still watching the s23 on RUclips :(
Did you not get it??
Guys help, I decided to switch from iPhone to Samsung - how can I transfer my i formation (contacts, pictures)
Great review.
@@JoaoPereira-qo8yithat for their ultra but s23 still has lower battery than iPhone 14 as 60hz 🤷
@@ruga129 yeah but s23 can go to 120hz, and if not needed goes down to 10 hz, to me that in 2023 is needed, in a phone that is gonna be super expensive
@@JoaoPereira-qo8yi I am telling about battery life iPhone 14 is has better due to 60hz and both apple and samsung display goes down to 1hz(1hz on paper but mainly 10hz)
@@ruga129 what you re saying is that apple has better battery life because they use old technology on not pro models? Thats false, iphone has worst battery life and can only outlast samsung because the screen is far worse, but if you use 60 hz on samsung wich you can, samsung will hold for much more time
The two cameras on iPhone and low 60hz refresh rate is where the comparison stops
Well these two go head to head in stores so I think we must discuss a little bit more
@@nickackermanchannel Yeah because people will choose brand over value and quality
@@iamfeelingsosad8461yeah so? samsung need to improve their brand then
Do this speed test again when One UI 6 comes out. I am using the beta and i feel the performance and speed has only got up.
Amazing 🙂👍
You should do a video of 23 months later as well to be fair.
Very nice months later comparison video😀
Can you watch a 4k resolution RUclips video with the S23 or S23+ as they have a 1080p display?
You can hit the option for 4K yes but that doesn’t mean your seeing full 4K because the display is not 4K same as iPhone. If you want a true 4K display, you would want to try Sony smartphones
You would not honestly see the difference between 1440p and 4k on a phone. It's just too small of a screen. Even on a 4K TV you have to be real close to see pixels.
It is very handy ❤❤ loved it
23 has that 3x Telephoto
Iphone 15 is close to launch. It will have 60hz display and last year's cpu. 200€ more than the 14.
Just completed a 250 km long trail walk where my s21 kept calling emergency services and taking screenshots in my pocket. I am sick and tired of the Samsung SW experience and have decided to switch to iPhone in the near future. My walking companion did not have any issues with her iPhone 14. This will be my first iPhone after using Android since the HTC Desire.
you can turn emergency sos off in samsung, but yes you can switch to ios for your walking partner and be friends
Can we play 8k RUclips video on s23 ?
Neither of the phone is worth their price, you can get a decent gaming laptop at lower price
😢 I feel stuck.
reason why i don't like ultras
What the heck are you talking about? Samsung s series is more expensive than iPhone. What's going on with people?
@@lormor460 what are you saying woman
It would be nice to have both of them Nick. 😀

What about Screen on Time? I heard it’s just 3-4 hrs SOT for S23!!
So basically iphone 14 is the Xr version when they released the xs and xs max? With a bit of upgrade
That 6 gb ram on the iphone is way more efficient than that 8 gb on the s23.
Why reviewers don't talk about battery in details ?
watching this since my s23+😁
This phone has pretty much everything a person can ask for except one thing, somewhat I feel that the battery could be a little better, a 4200/4300 mAh battery capacity can make this phone unbeatable. Maybe I am the only one who runs for SOT.
I couldn't stop laugh when you said 60hz display 😂😂😂...
Just bought my S23. Had an Iphone 13pro max.....prefer Samsung

It gets 4 years of software updates which is plenty, that's around the time you're gonna want to change your phone

Tnx for ansfer!!!!
I prefer Samsung, iPhone is so simple(like light switch) with lack of settings and multitasking
the S23 is just better in every way, I feel embarrassed for anyone spending $800-900 on a phone with a 60hz notched panel in 2023
S23 is just great for sure
Can’t believe the s23 came out 14 months ago.
Samsung not even a year later its already dropping in value already
This is typical for them
The iPhone looks too bulky to me with that huge camera bump. The Samsung S23 has nice lines, sleek camera bump and it’s lighter in the hand as well.
