@titanrh I've been looking at all sorts of comparisons and it's actually really awesome to see how snapdragon and Samsung have easily caught up to Apple in terms of quality and processing in such a short time, excited to see where things go in the next few years
As a recent convert from Samsung to Apple, hopefully this lights a fire under Apple’s ass and they stop half-steppin. Things like 60Hz on an $800 base model phone is wild in 2023.
Hey nice job on the comparison there’s one thing you missed out on and that is the Samsung phone has a physical Sim and so when you travel you can just buy a local Sim at any 7-Eleven or a convenience store and put it in your phone and you’re good to go… with the (US)iPhone 14 not so easy it only has E-sim
Since 2012, my wife and I have used the different systems. I have been an Apple IOS user and my wife a Samsung Galaxy Android user. The big thing I have noticed is that when the Samsung phones are new, they operate on par with Apple. But as the phones both age, the iPhone definitely moves ahead in performance, battery life and software updates. Even so, we like our specific phones and neither one of us is going to switch.
Tried the iPhone 14 Pro and Apple watch for a few months but had to switch back to my Pixel. iOS is simply too far behind in areas like everyday use like speed of UI, Keyboard typing prediction speed and accuracy, Photos library, default apps, assistant and overall freedom.
Typing from my S23, Design, Size, Display, Camera, Performance amd yes the Battery too...Samsung has finally got it all ✅️ in all the aspects! This was never the case before! Excellent video Dion as always. However after using S23 I was wondering how small your hands are... the regular models are looking their Plus siblings in your hand ✋️😄
@v7pul I switched to iPhone 13 from S20 last year and I absolutely love it yet. Couldn’t use 120Hz on S20 cos of poor battery life hence 60Hz is not a bummer for me. However I do miss the in-hand feel of S20. Squared edges definitely looks better but isn’t comfortable to hold.
@manojtl28 - I think the vanilla S23 is a way better deal than the iPhone 14 simply because of the feature set that it brings. Apple should really bring in LTPO to the vanilla models this year as 60hz in 14 and 14 plus simply don't make any sense. People who consider iPhone 14 over S23 should ideally go with the 13 to save some money!
But the target audience of the iPhone 14, namely teenagers, would only buy the new phone for the colors. And I'm serious. For all intents and purposes, the iPhone is a children's phone. It's functionality is not much better than a toy.
Im using both Iphone 13 & S23. Both are great in their own environment. Installed dynamic island app in my S23 and it works like charm but seriously using dynamic island as one of the marketing point for Iphone 14 is quite childish.
@@vivek_v "children's phone" lmao sure that's why its the best selling phone year after year, some people just prefer iphones you need to realize that not everyone shares the same opinion as you and that does not make them a child
@KhalifaDPT Great comparison. Thank you. I already switched from android to iOS last year but this year i see samsung take the leep forward and advance technology between hardware and software. Great job Samsung this year.
@atbinm1 Such a helpful and informative comparison! I was curious about the S23's battery life, and now that I know it's on par with the iPhone 14, I would choose the S23. Cheers!
S23 is an overall better phone but their biometrics are terrible compared to Apple. The face unlock works half of the time and the under screen fingerprint sensor is erratic...working maybe 70% of the time for me, and if you add a screen protector it's even worse. It works great some of the time then other times it will inexplicably just not work. Very frustrating. Apple's Face ID works literally all of the time in all lighting conditions. So, while I appreciate the always on display and the 120hz I just want phone that unlocks reliably and that's Apple, not Samsung.
Ultimately, he's an Apple guy so he's gonna side with Apple. It's not really possible for him to be objective here and non-biased when, like he said, he has the whole Apple ecosystem i.e Mac book, iPad, airpods, watch etc. But if you do look at this video objectively you can see Samsung clearly offers more overall for the same price. Samsung it is.
Hi Tom, I am very open where I come from, but my aim is to be objective. But it is clear that in this discussion it is very difficult to convince Samsung converts :)
@@DionMedia true that's fair I guess we're all a little biased when it comes to that weird fued going on between the 2, but I was actually on the fence about making the switch as I also own part of the Apple ecosystem as well, but many videos now including your own just makes the S23 look more enticing.

I have been using s22, s22 ultra and iphone 14 in parallel. Yes in papers samsung offers much more, but trust me, i dont know how but iphone’s optimisation and fluidity is on another level. Their animation is this much fuild that your 60 hz sometimes feel snappier than my 120 hz samsung. And not only apple ecosystem, my airbuds and watch connected faster in iphone than galaxy
@@nishant5655 no i mean yes as a user of android for years, i couldnt transfer the whatsapp data. And yes samsung offers a lot more like object eraser and many thing. Just that animation fluidity, Apple literally kills there
@Radeen Mostafa Animation fluidity has gotten more janky on the IPhone now, compared with Samsung matching it. I've also seen with a few of my mate's phones that it freezes (iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max) quite badly sometimes, which is pretty confusing.
Samsung also has face ID but you have to go to settings but at the same time you would go to settings in the first place to put your password and fingerprint
Can you believe it? An android phone has better battery performance than the current iPhone, about time. It's better because S23 has better fast charging.
Best Comparison Video I have watched so far. I'm gonna pick the s23, since I have a lot of apps that would never be available to iphone like free music, adblockers and many more.
Thank you Dion for the objective review comparison. I love my iPhone 14 & use it as my main phone, I’m also still using my Samsung A50.. between iPhone 14 vs S23, definitely iPhone 14! Samsung is my pick for overall phone design, photos, videos, screen display, productivity, customization, & FUN factor.. iPhone for simplicity & reliability 😊 Currently being tempted to upgrade, get the Z flip 4 or the S23 ULTRA??❤ Samsung is coming out with great products, great value for money, great quality as well, Apple should keep up!!! or one can get BOTH! 😊
I’ll still go for ios phones. More secure, stable performance and great optimization. Samsung’s Sd8 gen 2 is just a paper. They are svcks on optimization. They are the one who ruined qualcomm processor. Remember when they build the 888 and sd gen 1? A lot of issues (heating etc.), unstable performance and very bad optimization. They are only carried by their name.
@@iMrParker The only thing that I have seen changing is SIRI getting more and more uninformed ( stupid in a way). But the ecosystem is still good. The is no other for me so far.
@@iMrParker I agree with you. Everyone was always saying that iPhone software is so superb... Eventually I gave it a try since I was already owning a MacBook Pro (which I bought for work but now I'm using it for everything). I was disappointed as the experience wasn't that smooth at all. The iPhone operating system didn't seem polished and synchronization with the MacBook was not working correctly sometimes. Also, something a lot of people don't know: if you're outside the USA or other country where Apple maps are not working as good as Google maps and you are willing to use Google maps, then be ready that your iPhone will keep complaining it needs Google maps. You click a link to location in your calendar event - iPhone will complain it needs Apple maps... It's crazy. And it's only one of many issues I noticed while using this phone. I just got tired and returned the phone.

@SPIROLONDON, Well my experience with Samsung updates is that i had to put my Note 4 in the bin after an update that make the device overheating and destroy the ram memory forever...since then iphone for ever for me.
puzzles me why everyone says the iphone is faster or smoother. I just switched from Galaxy S20 to iphone 14 pro max. The Galaxy was far snappier. the smoothness you see on iphone is because it is slow navigating around the ui. Also get lags in apps like twitter I never got on galaxy. not impressed at all with iphone, and ready to get back onto a galaxy phone.
Thank you, I honestly do an effort to be objective, so thank you for acknowledging this! And I can see the day coming that in a comparison Pixel or Galaxy will come out as the best
i must say s23 beats the iPhone 14 here bcuz you get more benefits from the same price. but still, i’ve been moving to iPhone from samsung for years because since OneUI launched, i kinda don’t like the characteristic of samsung’s phone camera. i’m pretty sure this is the matter of software image processing. i just idk i like the characteristic of iPhone’s camera better. also the video. i didn’t enjoy the images quality i took on my Galaxy Note 8 on oneUI back then. this is just a personal preference tho
I can't use third party apps on the iPhone. That's a dealbreaker for me. The iPhone has the better camera and will last longer but I absolutely need to use my third party apps
@n1cky4ung as a person that was deciding between the two phones, I did ultimately go for the iphone, i think you can't go wrong with either of them but i do think that the samsung, especially if you preorder it, is a much better deal overall.
@dionschuddeboom___ The weight of the iphone 14 is 172 grams and not 127 grams as mentioned in the video. i wanted a light phone double checked after seeing your video... now going for the 13 mini...

its easy. if you ask what phone to buy. i always suggest iphone. because of its OS. if you need specifically android, you dont need to ask in the first place. and will pick whatever android most reliable, which in my case and experience, is samsung, even with all the bloatware that you can somehow reduce. really, there is no magic in engineering, just pick what you need. had nokia, iphone, samsung, motorola, huawei, etc. i know how good iphone is, but i need those android flexibility. and i like one UI. can samsung actually make something that last longer? they probably "could" but obviously for sure wouldn't.
@joe_welx If we talk about the display, the iPhone 14 Pro Max is better on paper as its screen is brighter and that will be helpful in daylight conditions. For watching videos, and consuming other content, the displays of both devices are exceptional
Iphone 14 is good when you are already in the apple ecosystem but if you are someone who want to switch from android to iphone then i must say there will be less customisation option and this seems old and boring for many android users. All in all both phones has dedicated users depending on their preferences. I have used both systems and i would like to spend my money on Samsung S23 than iPhone 14 as there is only slight variation in iphone and i get lots of freedom in android.
The two main competing phone brands: Samsung and iPhone. Samsung would have been more famous than iPhone, only if some people didn't have a negative picture of Android OS
I mean, this is an unfair fight. The S23 > the iPhone 14 Pro, not just the regular 14. I have both. They're both great devices of course, but it's a fairer fight with the Pro. S23 obliterates the regular 14.
What to choose between Samsung galaxy es 23 5g 256gb 8gb vs Iphone 14 128GB vs Iphone 13 128GB what recommendation tell me what I would buy would be better.
I’d never own a galaxy phone long term. They have such horrible resale value and case selection is ass. iPhones IOS is so basic and simple and I’m able to go to any store and buy a case/charger. I have had s6-s10. I’m the farthest from an Apple fanboy but iPhones are just more convenient and they last
iphone surprisingly still doesn't support vary basic and convenient T9 dialing to find contacts. Couldn't understand why and stand it. I switched back to Samsung after two weeks. BTW the iphones are much heavier and now they don't get physical SIM anymore in US, making it a problem for travelers.
Was sitting on the fence and graduated from an S9 to a S23+ Enough stuff to learn on a newer phone . Did not want to learn a new operating system on top of a new phone
Greetings from the UK Dion. Once I went Android, I didnt look back, so that was where the buck stops, as they say. I was hoping to find the screen protectors recommendations in the description, but couldn't. There always has to be one, eh ?
i always felt the s series flagship had way much more better hardware specs offered than the iphone series flagships[not sure about design though]. i do not really know where the ios [compact] sense is really going to end up as in the future.......😢
I like the video. But I would love to point out a few things. 1. Design (this one is very subjective. But both phone look and feel premium) 2. Display goes to the galaxy by a margin. You should insist harder that the display on the iPhone is just not acceptable at this point for that price. 3. Battery is good enough on both. 4. Camera goes to the galaxy. Because...just point and shoot, these phones both have excellent cameras. You can't go wrong with either of the main lenses. Same to video. They are just so good. You have to really really compare things that you wouldn't to know who does better. It falls to the fact that you can zoom more on the galaxy and gett excellent images. 5. Performance, they are both great. You can go wrong with either. Not smoothness. Not gaming. 6. Longevity. The iPhone. Not for the updates. Because very few people keep a phone for 5 years. Those who do don't care about updates. Iphone wins because of resell value.

I've been looking at all sorts of comparisons and it's actually really awesome to see how snapdragon and Samsung have easily caught up to Apple in terms of quality and processing in such a short time, excited to see where things go in the next few years
Hi Titus, I have high hopes
As a recent convert from Samsung to Apple, hopefully this lights a fire under Apple’s ass and they stop half-steppin. Things like 60Hz on an $800 base model phone is wild in 2023.
@@TGCid01and they just did it again with the 15 now 💀
@@V1Salvo yeah, disappointing for sure. Seems like Apple is intent on keeping that as a pro feature for now
IOS is too restrict. If you buy the apple ecosystem, good for you, but Android is way superior in flexibility and app customization.
Hi Jonah, thanks for your feedback and your remark
120hz and telephoto, these are the reasons I prefer S23 over iphone. I hope Apple learns this year
Since 2012, my wife and I have used the different systems.
Probably had mid range phones. I'd like to see you you try the S23 Ultra
The Samsung Galaxy Ultra destroys any iphones facts
Your wife is wise.
@@anujrana7707 😂😂
@@anujrana7707not rlly but okay.
However after using S23 I was wondering how small your hands are... the regular models are looking their Plus siblings in your hand ✋️😄
remember s10?
regular sized hands. Thanks for the feedback!
@v7pul
I switched to iPhone 13 from S20 last year and I absolutely love it yet. Couldn’t use 120Hz on S20 cos of poor battery life hence 60Hz is not a bummer for me. However I do miss the in-hand feel of S20. Squared edges definitely looks better but isn’t comfortable to hold.
What a poor choice 🤣
@@tonyyayo5548 poor choice - 🤓 he can buy whatever he prefers stop being childish
Hi. The IPhone 14 weighs 172g, not 127g ...
Hi Asif, you are correct. My bad
@KhalifaDPT
Great comparison. Thank you.
I already switched from android to iOS last year but this year i see samsung take the leep forward and advance technology between hardware and software. Great job Samsung this year.
Had a s20 then decided to “upgrade” to an iphone14 hate it..im in the att store right now switching to my s23
i have that phone and didn't even know it is good. i just watch RUclips on every phone ive ever had and don't notice any difference in any of them.
Disregarding everything but design, S23 all day every day. It's easily one of the most stunning designs of the past 10 years.
The design is too simple I lons s21 better
@astroi
Preordered s23 and can't wait to get my hands on it. Plan to switch from iPhone 13 pro just because of its weight.
Enjoy!
Love how you give Galaxy's there Props they are really great phones. I have the S23 currently and I have had Galaxy S for a decade now.
When i watch the video..i came to realize that Exposure control is far more better in Iphone..plus Iphone Hardware is so reliable
The only thingsi dont like about samsung is that they dont have a own operating system but overall im happy with my phone
@atbinm1
Such a helpful and informative comparison! I was curious about the S23's battery life, and now that I know it's on par with the iPhone 14, I would choose the S23. Cheers!
thanks
Then buy it! It is a great phone
Both the phone's are good at their respective places 👍
S23 does also have face id it works pretty good too its definitely a step up for samsung
face recognition, it only uses front camera, apple has some extra sensors hence the notch
Android offers more than ios at the same price. But i have issues with Samsung, i feel like pixel is a better choice but i don't know about pixels's durability. Why is it 2023 and there is still no perfect phone in everything!!😂
You are my favorite youtuber, your videos are so clean and the aesthetic is so different from other tech youtubers I do appreciate the thought you put into making your videos!
Hi Miguel, very kind of you to say!
i feel like i would get the same phone when i upgrade from my iPhone 8 to the 14. i dont want to buy the same thing twice so ill go for the s23
If you have other apple devices(are in the apple ecosystem) you should probably buy an iPhone 14 but if not I think the s23 is a great option
@@dasgermaican oops,, i meant the os. aside from the hardware differences, ios will probably feel the same if i get the 14, and i really want something different if im upgrading
Upgrading from an old iPhone to a new one is as simple as just putting the two phones next to each other and all your info apps passwords etc. Will transferred to the new phone without you having to do anything. You will probably regret changing to android
I guess ur experience with apple is good 😊 nice
But I love my samsung s23 ultra than my brother's iPhone 14 pro 😁
@@nishant5655 no i mean yes as a user of android for years, i couldnt transfer the whatsapp data. And yes samsung offers a lot more like object eraser and many thing. Just that animation fluidity, Apple literally kills there
@Radeen Mostafa Animation fluidity has gotten more janky on the IPhone now, compared with Samsung matching it. I've also seen with a few of my mate's phones that it freezes (iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max) quite badly sometimes, which is pretty confusing.
@@radeenmostafa6987 you can now transfer ur whatsapp data across the phones!
Samsung also has face ID but you have to go to settings but at the same time you would go to settings in the first place to put your password and fingerprint
"I will leave that comparison video linked in the description' And of course no link, good job.
Hi, you are right. I planned to do the two videos immediately one after the other, but it took some time. I now added at the end of the video. Sorry!

An excellent - and helpful - review. Thanks.
At 2:18 the weights of the phones displayed are completely wrong
True, misspelled-:)
And S23 is giving same battery backup with more advanced display
s23 for sure ❤️

Great comparison. Both are amazing, but for me S23 is the better choice!

apple need to start offer 90hz on the non pro models, nowadays it should be the minimum on phones that cost that much
The only reason why I have a iPhone is iOS. I like it much more than Android, also Apple has better Watches I think.
The Samsung s23 it’s the beast of a phone , the cameras are just superb. But I would still go for the iPhone because of the software and ecosystem.
I hate to say it but the apple software and ecosystem experience has been quickly declining over the last few years though
@@iMrParker The only thing that I have seen changing is SIRI getting more and more uninformed ( stupid in a way). But the ecosystem is still good. The is no other for me so far.
@@iMrParker and on the software it’s not good so far, but the is always a fix on the next update.
@@iMrParker i have an android but love how my airpods work with my ipad. So I'm kinda more interested in the iphone than the s23 even though I do think s23 offers better value.
S23 best
I am still using s9+ and s10+ and the s10+ still works great. Camera quality and battery life is great (I record video for my channel by s10+) According to my experience of three years, I still use one charge for the whole day. Even if the 4k video is shot continuously for an hour, fifty percent remains. Hope to get s23 this year.
Sounds very encouraging
Yep, this is my opinion.
@napu360
I have never used an android so i will just stick to iphone because of its simplicity
personally I think the S23 with 120hz display and telephoto lens is more comparable to the 14 Pro rather than the 14. @vinoichirio
@rorodneyey I have used the iPhone 13 for a year now and even comparing to the s20 series I like the Samsung better one thing iPhone carries is its battery life
S23 have heating problem and if u want to go with Android and samsung then u should go for s23 ultra otherwise u will get basics, no upgradation from s22 except camera bump but I phone 14 have beeter video quality and feel, but if u are a mobileholic then I phone is not for u
How is it settled as it is tied at the end of the video. 🤔
:)
Iphone 14 just same as Iphone 13, including big notch, 60hz screen, no usb-c , no telelens etc. In 2023 absolutely S23❤
@didooooong
I would love to take a dip into the Apple ecosystem.
A32 4g or iphone xr for daily driver ?not for gaming too
As a former Samsung Galaxy user now IOS I found this video interesting, for me the Apple ecosystem is hard to beat once you get into it
True
For an Apple user, you were very fair and non bias towards Samsung/Android, excellent review👍

Congratulations lucky winner 📩
How are the haptics in s23 compared to the iphone 14?
Hi Moyeen, I find the Iphone 14 to have the better haptics, but on the Android side in my opinion Samsung in general has the best haptics.
I can't use third party apps on the iPhone. That's a dealbreaker for me. The iPhone has the better camera and will last longer but I absolutely need to use my third party apps
I was confused before watching this vide0, now I am even more confused.
Hi Sahab, that was the whole idea :)
@n1cky4ung
as a person that was deciding between the two phones, I did ultimately go for the iphone, i think you can't go wrong with either of them but i do think that the samsung, especially if you preorder it, is a much better deal overall.
Great review buddy but you got the weight of the iPhone wrong
@dionschuddeboom___ The weight of the iphone 14 is 172 grams and not 127 grams as mentioned in the video. i wanted a light phone double checked after seeing your video... now going for the 13 mini...
Hi Chintan, I know. Many pointed this out. It was a typing error, 127 instead of 172. Something else, please do not react to that Telegram account. It is a criminal scam effort that at a certain moment try to cheat you out of your money. Best, Dion
i just like the fact that people calling i phone camera looking more natural instead of more saturated, it was the other way around with samsung.
Why is your iphone 14 pictures looking so vibrant? Mine looks so dull.
14 Pro is 10x better than s23. S23 has half day battery life.
its easy. if you ask what phone to buy. i always suggest iphone. because of its OS. if you need specifically android, you dont need to ask in the first place. and will pick whatever android most reliable, which in my case and experience, is samsung, even with all the bloatware that you can somehow reduce. really, there is no magic in engineering, just pick what you need. had nokia, iphone, samsung, motorola, huawei, etc. i know how good iphone is, but i need those android flexibility. and i like one UI. can samsung actually make something that last longer? they probably "could" but obviously for sure wouldn't.
Tbh im stuck in the samsung ecosystem cause i have samsung buds, samsung pc, samsung appliances and i wont be able to access those stuff on apple😢
Man i love your explanation. You're not biased towards one side unlike most phone reviewer. Good job. You deserve more subscriber
Hi Ery, thanks for your comment. I agree :)
@thatdude_elvis
Good comparison. I ultimately prefer the iphone 14 especially because of the quality camera and longevity.
@schuddeboom_giveaway.. Wow! Thank you💌💌💌
@joe_welx
If we talk about the display, the iPhone 14 Pro Max is better on paper as its screen is brighter and that will be helpful in daylight conditions.
Hi Rashmi, thanks for your POV
The two main competing phone brands: Samsung and iPhone. Samsung would have been more famous than iPhone, only if some people didn't have a negative picture of Android OS
I mean, this is an unfair fight. The S23 > the iPhone 14 Pro, not just the regular 14. I have both. They're both great devices of course, but it's a fairer fight with the Pro. S23 obliterates the regular 14.
Well, do note agree fully, but thanks for your feedback!
Please address the issue of PWM flicker of Iphones OLED displays giving massive eye strain and headaches to some users.
What to choose between Samsung galaxy es 23 5g 256gb 8gb vs Iphone 14 128GB vs Iphone 13 128GB what recommendation tell me what I would buy would be better.
I would be sooo happy if the iPhone was actually 127 grams like your video claims…. But it’s 172….
Hi Johnny, I know, typing error, sorry

@@DionMedia It's ok, happens! Just commented out of curiosity. Great content, very informative!
Was sitting on the fence and graduated from an S9 to a S23+
Enough stuff to learn on a newer phone . Did not want to learn a new operating system on top of a new phone
Greetings from the UK Dion. Once I went Android, I didnt look back, so that was where the buck stops, as they say. I was hoping to find the screen protectors recommendations in the description, but couldn't. There always has to be one, eh ?
Hi, yes, I always highly recommend screen protectors. My favorite is Speegan (I worked with them in the past, but not at present)
What is a good way to learn Japanese a little bit more flexible and fluent? Any recommended RUclipsr?
No idea Sam, I am still learning English:)
Magsafe ... A great way to overheat your battery and kill it early .
i always felt the s series flagship had way much more better hardware specs offered than the iphone series flagships[not sure about design though].
i do not really know where the ios [compact] sense is really going to end up as in the future.......😢
I like the video. But I would love to point out a few things.
1. Design (this one is very subjective. But both phone look and feel premium)
Can't go*
