@@dave6018 Totally agree, shutter lag is a big big problem on samsung. Just saying though comparing 50MP shots vs regular 12MP shot on other phones is not fair.
Hey guys, I always enjoy your camera comparisons, but there's something I noticed. From time to time, some of your pictures shouldn't be compared, because the angle for example is noticeably different. I know it can be difficult, especially when taking a picture of kids, but still, it's not a fair comparison. As soon as the angle or position is different, the phone processes it differently, because of the different lighting condition. I hope you get what I mean.
I think it’s better because when using a phone in a daily basis, you almost never have the possibility to frame perfectly every shot, for example that is way too bad for the S23 because of its shutter lag. I honestly prefer this kind of tests because they show you what can you expect from random family and real life scenarios.
with the amount of photos they took if you always end up not picking one phone then it means that phone is less competent than the others. If they would do 1 night shot and with that conclude that X phone is best then you would be right but that's irrelevant with all the different scenes they repeated.
I think only the S23U has the option to stop some of the shutter lag. I think inside the app GOOD LOCK there is a camera assistant that'll give you more options. I personally thought the comparison here was oddly skewed. Trying to get a better rig to take photos or get three people who can take a similar shot. How the hell is that a fair comparison?! If you do 4m then do the longer shot on the others. If it's quicker shutter then use whatever the shutters fastest speed is I'm sorry but this review was useless for me personally...
They’re testing these cameras in realistic use cases. Should they only shoot the sky and buildings? Who really takes those kind of pics? It’s better to see them in how we would actually use them.
I don't know, they all looked good in different situations. The Galaxy often had the nicest looking skin tones, the iPhone often had the nicest looking colors and detail for landscape and was pretty consistently good, the Pixel is great for zooming and general pictures. It's hard to chose between, but when the level is so high, there's no bad choice.
In astrophotography for pixel 7 it takes 8 photos each with 30sec of shutter speed, then it blends them together. If you want you can stop the acquisition after 30 second and still obtain the photo.
you should have used the 12mp on the s23 since the 50mp photos don't work well with indoor shots, and the shutter lag is worse on the 50mp. it's not for everyday use

Who shoots 50mp indoors in low light? You should be using the 12. I'm hoping you just didn't know that & not that you did it to produce bad pics. When in doubt just use the default. Just saying. This comparison was... interesting.
Back in the day, Apple fanboys were like: "Samsung photos are too bright, too satured, doesn't look natural. It's trash!" But nowadays, that 9 out 10 photos from an iPhone are satured like a kid's drawing. The Sheep say is the best thing ever. smh
7:10 she goes with the cold image by saying she will adjust the color toner because it was the iphone but when the samsung captures in vibrant colors she says she like the natural tone ...nice unbiased comparison
The 3 phones should be snapped at the exact same moment to get a more accurate comparison. Otherwise, motion and surrounding play a big role in the outcome
Thats not really possible. However its a known fact that the s23 has horrible shutter lag and this actually is more real world doing it this way. You won't be able to get a baby to stand still to take a pic. I love the s23 series but this is the kinda stuff we gotta be honest about so samsung can improve
It's difficult but not impossible. We already have phone holders that can hold 3 phones together. Coupled that with remote shutters, and with help of 3-4 people it can be done. Maybe not fractionally accurate but pretty close. Of course, all this is necessary only for taking the pictures of moving objects
@@reahs4815 Relevant because we know that Samsung phones have a slower shutter, much slower than rvials iPhone and Pixel phones. Thus snapping the photos from all three phones will have very different results depending on the scene. So you have to adjust testing methodology to take into account Samsungs weakness in this area. If not Samsung will lose 100% of the time.
Have always liked your blind camera comparison but sorry guys, everyone knows 12mp mode is what you shoot with indoors to take advantage of the pixel binding truly disappointed in this camera test almost feels deliberate.
I didn't write down the score, but it was hands down pixel for me. I voted iphone once and s23 like twice. The thing that surprised me the most was the last photo. You need to redo that photo on the pixel again cause that is not what the pixel looks like
I really can't vote in most of the scenes here as the angles and conditions can be wildly different between all three phones (and it's also unfair to compare 12 MP vs higher resolution pics or to compare the zooming capabilities between 5x and 30x), which can make the result unfair to the phones. Also, the modes that you used were different sometimes. I love this style of comparison though, nice!
they are comparing all flagships at around 800 usd and for that you have to check what's strong for every phone, else what's your proposal? test only 2x pics because that's the max the iPhone can take? the focus here is to compare what you get for the money.
@Ari Barra that's not the point of my comment. You have to see how some of the scenes didn't have the same exact subject position, and that can affect how the pictures are going to look like in the end (see 4:20 for example). Comparing portrait shots also requires the subject to be in the same position and the background should also be the exact same as a slight change can change how a picture would look dramatically. Aside from that, comparing 50 MP vs 12 MP shots is not fair at all. Comparing zoomed in pictures with regular 1x shots is not fair either.
@@sondesix_ for the first part, i explained in my comment. Regarding mpx and zoom, the reasoning is the last sentence of my comment. Doesnt look you added anything to your arguments.
the girl is basically Apple user, which tend to choose the brightest, the warmest colour tone especially in shots where there's a person in it, predictable assessment from her, and not in a good way
I can totally sense Angelika's fangirling everything for iphone, i mean idk but i can tell she already knew where the iphone is by its color science. Whenever she picked samsung by accident, her tone of dismay somehow tells me she is a fantard.. Like she even chooses the picture with the super blue tone and just reasoned out that she can correct that, but she favor always the warm tones.
I like the comparison episodes but to make this a bit more fair i think it would benefit if you rank them with the best phone with 3points second with 2 points and worst one with 1 points and if you have a really bad shot you give it 0 points that way even if you have a phone that doesn’t win every round it can still be a better overall phone and for example if you have a phone with a super main camera it can still be the worst phone as it could possibly score really bad on other things like night shots and then scores zeros on those.
The S23 was still running prerelease software here and they already released software updates for it. These people know that Samsung will improve everything and that is why they make these videos at the time when Samsung is at its weakest. When they compared the S22U to the iPhone 14PM, they made sure they were testing it with the August update and the August update was HORRIBLE, September and October returned the S22Us camera to its glory. My S23U already got an update and I can see a BIG differance in the camera and video already and that was the typical Day 1 software release, March will bring more updates. If these guys were honest, they would redo it again after the March patch but I know they wont since they dont want to see Apple fail! 😂
@Robert Ecker i can't cant speak for the standard line but the Ultra line is VERY good! I heard that Junes update is supposed to help the standard series a lot!
I'm confused as to why you're using the 50MP mode on the S23 vs the default 12MP mode like on the other two phones. 50 MP mode should only be used when there's plenty of light, not for pictures of your moving kids or in with indoor lighting. You can't "compare" devices and then change the conditions, thats bias.
one thing I notice when Vadim takes pictures for the camera test I already know Samsung pictures are going to look bad lol ... This dude really doesn't know how to take pictures... max I feel does alooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooot better taking pictures for camera comparison .... I've seen enough videos of people that actually know how to take pictures and videography that is mind-blowing what the s23 can do. I was just curious to see what they had to say but from now on only let max take pictures for the camera test
I went from the s22 ultra to the pixel 7 pro and the shutter lag was why I got rid of the s22 ultra , the pixel may not take perfect pictures all the time but you can trust it 99.9% of the time
As an iPhone 📱 14 pro user I doubt how unbiased your camera comparisons are. Because when it was truly a double blind comparison with the photographers they basically dunked all over y’all clear biases because you actually took the pictures. For it to be truly unbiased you have to have someone who’s not in this video take the pictures. But it’s obvious one or even all of you took the pictures.
Only one of them took the photo and the other two voted. The one who took the photo was only giving information about the camera settings and conditions. That’s what they always do
According to my opinion for a better comparison, it is better if you can get the same photo, under the same conditions from all three phones. Anyway, love the video.
Try zooming in on the 50mp photo. It's definetly more detailed. It doesn't add digital sharpening in the 50mp mode that's why the others look sharper... until you zoom in
Sometimes it is very clear which is the iPhone, just look for the yellow filter. So you sometimes know which is the iphone which is not fair to the other 2.
I don't know how u guys are taking these pictures but a lot of them look bad. Really sloppy work, on one test u have a kid in front of a window and u snap a picture with the window exposed where the other 2 phones the kid is blocking the window, of coarse that test is gonna be unfair.
I don't know if I'm just biased but I find myself picking the pixel most times which is convenient because I've since bought a 7 pro. I see where I phone shots are appealing but are almost never true to life colors/ exposure. Blown highlights, super warm greenish shots that are over sharpened. Pixel is the only one that gets skin tones right imo. Selfie flash is a setting that is turned on and you don't have to take 4 minute exposure unless you choose too. The pixel is the most affordable of these 3 even though it's the pro and the others are just base models. Pixel sells for 749.99 most places right now and competes with phones $500 plus more money. Don't meen to fanboy I love the videos!
I’m sorry but knowing that the s23 ultra doesn’t do well with people moving you used a lot of people pics to use in this comparison. I have a iPhone 14pro max and I’ve seen other videos where the s23 ultra destroys this phone. All reviewers are saying the s23 suffers with shutter lag
What do we learn? The ball is again back in the photographer's court as in you will have to take multiple shots and angles to arrive at a desired quality
I really like the way you do this comparisons focusing on the people rather than on isolated objects or landscapes where most photos look the same! I have a pixel 7 and the pictures look as in your comparison meaning the photos are indeed taken by those phones. Great job!
You guys are such iphone fanboys that you take jabs at Samsung every chance you get, and when you all select Samsung it's like oh damn...anyway moving on lets not dwell on it being great lmao.
I like how the images are real life scenarios but it just lacks control. Hard to choose which ones the best if they are not taken exactly the same time.
S23 vs iphone 15 which phone is best for long term usage camera quality or battery backup, not heating issue, not lagging issue which is best for long term?
What I noticed in their video is they look upset and the tone of their voice noticably upset if the photo from samsung wins. They are so much happy if the iphone wins. Lol.
Love your video's, just found your channel comparing the Pixel 6a to others, just a suggestion, you might wanna invest in a LARGE monitor to judge these photos, you're spot on with your analysis but having 3 people huddled together around a 15 inch monitor heh.. ya know? Also the angle you guys are looking at, colors and brightness shifts when looking off axis.
I can tell how angelica and the guy (not max) are biased to the iPhone. How they choose and how they speak tells. They act like the warmth on the galaxy is too much when the shoot on iphone is too undersaturated. And when the iphone shoot is too warm, they said nothing 🤷🏻♂
There is no way this is an accurate review lmao. I'm not a fan boy tiger are somethings samsung struggle with. Like oversaturation and video noise but these Pictures are a joke. 1:54 really that's an entire different focal length?? On top of you not using the right lens for the right picture. But yeah I think I'm kinda done with the channel..... 1:59 more blow out bc the head isn't blocking the window ..
I had an iphone for 5 years before switching to the s23 and the camera settings are literally like apple and oranges. There are one time tweaks that would have improved the galaxy's camera. If you guys opened the camera and started clicking then and there then it's already an unfair fight. This is partly samsung's fault but you should have noticed it as reviewers: There is no hdr button in the native samsung camera app. You need to download the camera assistant app on the galaxy store and turn it on like on the iphone. Scene optimizer should also be turned off so the yellow tint would be gone. Finally we didn't see how you took the 50mp picture. That amount of detail takes a steady hand to capture If you moved just a little then it would look like trash even when compared to a 12 mp picture. Of course all this comes down to whether you just want to be spoonfed or are willing to go to the extra mile and research.
Hahahah your comment on the night time selfie @15:50 "that looks like the iphone 5 years ago"....fully intending to diss the Samsung - turns out that it was STILL the iphone in 2023 lmao brilliant...and then the excuses came rolling in for your poor precious apple. OOOhh the way you would have DRAGGED the Samsung unprovoked lol
What happens to the pixel at the last part is that the camera man didn't turn on night sight. They did turn it on on the other device but forget to turn it on the pixel
Suggestion: you should do this as a double blind test, where those guessing don't know what phones were used until the end. Also, it could be done individually so not to bias each other. Then the video could be a reveal and a 'I chose' rather than ' I'm choosing right now' 👍😀. Great content
I think they should do more comparisons with professional photographers - like they did recently with the S22U vs 14 pro vs 7 pro video. Maybe a bit less "day in the life" but gives good insight to what professionals look for in their photos. I thought that format was just brilliant.
TBH. All three showed weaknesses that I couldn’t live with. They’re not better than my 3 year old Note 10+, and my wife’s 13PM is much better. Or maybe she’s just a better photographer.
50mp on the Samsung s23 indoor not a fair comparison just Being honest. 12mp is always the go to setting taking pictures indoors. Wish we can get a redo. If the comparison with the s23 ultra is a 200mp then that's suspect in my opinion.

Who shoots 50mp indoors in low light? You should be using the 12. I'm hoping you just didn't know that & not that you did it to produce bad pics. When in doubt just use the default. Just saying. This comparison was... interesting.
That girl always picked the photos that I think it's the worst out of the 3 photos. She's a genius 😂
Back in the day, Apple fanboys were like: "Samsung photos are too bright, too satured, doesn't look natural. It's trash!"
But nowadays, that 9 out 10 photos from an iPhone are satured like a kid's drawing. The Sheep say is the best thing ever.
smh
Hey Max. Great comparison!
2:09 I feel like the Pixel was betrayed by the window behind.
7:10 she goes with the cold image by saying she will adjust the color toner because it was the iphone but when the samsung captures in vibrant colors she says she like the natural tone ...nice unbiased comparison
Ah The (Sibling) Trio Photo Comparison Video is finally here! Great way to start the day with breakfast. Keep up the great work guys!
@@anudeepb5400 Again you fail to understand that each camera reacts differently depending on enviroments when it comes to shutter speeds
@@ssaini5028 how is that relevant to what he said?
In my opinion, the camera test should have been done after the first update for the S23 series was rolled out.
Anyway, it was a good test.
@@xeon2k8 I didn’t add anything to my argument because I explained what I meant once again as you didn’t get my point.
the girl is basically Apple user, which tend to choose the brightest, the warmest colour tone especially in shots where there's a person in it, predictable assessment from her, and not in a good way
🤣
For sure the scene optimizer on Samsung is turned on.
Good idea.
I don’t think is fair to use the 50mp mode on the Samsung randomly, but nice comparison anyway
Why you set s23 on 50mp? Big mistake you ruined the video
Unbiased and "Max Tech".
Basically a joke.
He actually sabotaged the samsung using 50mp inside rather then 12 mp which works much better in lower light.
its june and my s23 camera still sucks
@Robert Ecker i can't cant speak for the standard line but the Ultra line is VERY good! I heard that Junes update is supposed to help the standard series a lot!
@@1993rufusthat guy doesn't have an S23. He lied..hes an iPhone user. I have the S23 and the camera after updates is superb🎉
That is why the Samsung shots looks warmer because of the scene optimizer been turned on.
I don’t understand why u didn’t use default 12mp on s23 ultra as all others were using default settings
Most viewers don't have basic photography knowledge. They're fooling the tik tok crowd
Really waiting for S23 Ultra and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
Notice how everytime they speak of Samsung it's mocking the S23. But everytime the iPhone takes a bad photo there's a valid reason.
The 6:31 30x zoom is way better on P7P. S23 just artificially sharpened it and it looks very bad for me, while Pixel kept it natural.
Biggest mistake is that you should use 12mp on s23
Pixel is the most natural one! For darker indoor shots, try to ignore other devices and focus on the white balances and colors. It is so real!
one thing I notice when Vadim takes pictures for the camera test I already know Samsung pictures are going to look bad lol ...
I went from the s22 ultra to the pixel 7 pro and the shutter lag was why I got rid of the s22 ultra , the pixel may not take perfect pictures all the time but you can trust it 99.9% of the time
You could install camera assistant and make camera shutter faster
@@filip2812why bother with it anyway? It's supposed to be like that out of the box
That is only possible in a controlled environment aka studio, and tells you not much about real life complex situations.
@@andreasbuder4417 well we are comparing 3 phone camera systems and not each system in IRL situations.
Pixel everyday of the week. Solid. Cheers. 🔥🍻
Try zooming in on the 50mp photo. It's definetly more detailed. It doesn't add digital sharpening in the 50mp mode that's why the others look sharper... until you zoom in
Sometimes it is very clear which is the iPhone, just look for the yellow filter. So you sometimes know which is the iphone which is not fair to the other 2.
i know you guys love apple....but would you please give unbiased advice s23 or iphone 14 .camera and battery is my main prefrence?
Well said. Natural is better. Pictures aren't meant to pop all the time unless you want them too.
I have the s22ultra I prefer pixels colors so much better than both iphone n Samsung to me
Since when did you guys start complaining about something being too natural?
00:35 "iphone is less blown out" but they forgot to look into the other window.
I think like one of your old videos, you should get camera professionals to also do these unbiased comparisons alongside you guys.
The most horrible comparison video I have ever seen. Also, why are you shooting S23 on 50mp mode? The standard 12mp mode is the main one.
Looks like you're obsessed with iPhones. Haven't you seen pixels s photo! Much better dynamic range is in pixels photos than the others two.
U put the 7pro against the S23 and 14 and expected less
These comparisons anything but unbiased!
6:45 its so nice to see the visually impaired thriving on yt
Different angle, different light and different time. It's bad camera comparison.
I like how the images are real life scenarios but it just lacks control. Hard to choose which ones the best if they are not taken exactly the same time.
S23 vs iphone 15 which phone is best for long term usage camera quality or battery backup, not heating issue, not lagging issue which is best for long term?
TBH the cameras all had their strengths and weaknesses but the main thing I got from this is that Max doesn't visit Vadim very much.
What I noticed in their video is they look upset and the tone of their voice noticably upset if the photo from samsung wins. They are so much happy if the iphone wins. Lol.
They don't take the photos at the same time and that's not fair
Love your video's, just found your channel comparing the Pixel 6a to others, just a suggestion, you might wanna invest in a LARGE monitor to judge these photos, you're spot on with your analysis but having 3 people huddled together around a 15 inch monitor heh.. ya know? Also the angle you guys are looking at, colors and brightness shifts when looking off axis.
11:24 as close as I can .... 10second later: I crop it digitally
really dont know why you keep using the 50MP and 200MP with the S23, should use the default 12.6MP

Of course all this comes down to whether you just want to be spoonfed or are willing to go to the extra mile and research.
if this is the case, they will only use 200mp mode in every situation in the s23u vs 14pro video comparison 🥴🥴😂
Who uses 50MP indoors🤓🤓
Clowns
That's not what double blind means.
TBH. All three showed weaknesses that I couldn’t live with. They’re not better than my 3 year old Note 10+, and my wife’s 13PM is much better. Or maybe she’s just a better photographer.
It would be nice if phone makers started putting better sensors in the ultra wide and telephoto lenses
Why didn't you use 12 MP default mode?
Um in dark scenes, you can control the shutter delay allowing more light on the galaxy s23 ultra FYI.
50mp on the Samsung s23 indoor not a fair comparison just Being honest. 12mp is always the go to setting taking pictures indoors. Wish we can get a redo. If the comparison with the s23 ultra is a 200mp then that's suspect in my opinion.
I was waiting for this
Thanks max tech 😂
A lot of these are just a result of not being conscientious about taking pictures, but I suppose that can be the point.
