They have a murphy bed with a built-in table that folds down when the bed is up. The exterior has excellent under-storage holding tools, major cooking gear, and other bus necessities. This couple loves being on the road and sharing their adventures! If you ever see them, honk and wave!

@@LacroixCruiser thank you for the reply. Reason I was asking is because I’m looking at one myself right now that’s just right down the road. It’s also an MCI but it’s an MCI 7 or 8 I believe and is a little bit older than what yours is. It has been converted but it will need to be stripped and redone cause it’s in rough shape as far as the interior goes. It runs like a dream but it’s tires are out of date cause it’s been sitting so long. It also needs airbags replaced but he does have new ones already but just need installed. Its been sitting about 8 years or so since they’ve done anything with it. They were living in it while they were building their house and once it was finished, they moved into the house and let the bus sit there. It could be a good bus again but needs major work to get it there and I didn’t know how to price it cause prices are all over the board. He said he wanted to try to get $10k but I still think that’s high because I’m worried about all of the suspension from it sitting that long.
Anyways, hopefully I can find something I can work with. I can do all interior rebuild myself and some mechanical but on the bigger stuff like suspension, I need to have someone do that.
The buses are harder to come by now than what they were before this virus shut us all down. And the ones I am finding have doubled in price. Hopefully I can find one and get it finished similar to yours and I’ll see you out on the road somewhere!
Take care and be safe out there!! Thank you for your guidance, I appreciate it!!

Bonjour Yvan et Sylvie! C'est tres beau, votre maison roulettes. Love the sleek and quality build. The wood is beautiful.
I think you might find a deeper sink does not splash water our so much and a large, deep, rectangular sink will sell the bus faster if you decide to upgrade. It adds value. I also bought shallow sinks, then regretted it and changed to deep and large. No need for farmhouse apron sinks - something undermounted is fine.
I am so glad you said that about the Induction cooktop! I dislike it too. A lack of options with that and enormous power use.
6:07 - Love those cabinet hinges! Looks like pricey Blum type. Would love to know where you got them?
What a lovely appliance garage! Better than my house, ha ha!. Bet those rollup doors came from IKEA? Looks great.
Smart idea to refill Berkey from the top of cabinet! This is genius.
Love the engine access panel, good design! Great office table too, nice and big and multi use bedroom space, smart!
The Tire Pressure Monitoring System is a life saver and the single most important thing after the engine. I have constant issues with tires and must get one. Good install.
The basement storage is mind boggling. You have a whole city system in there!
21:53 - The SEM Pro-Tex Bed Liner is a urethane liner that is tint-able. I've been looking for one that is tint-able but not an epoxy, identical to Durabak18 which is not tint-able. Durabak18 is flexible, polyurethane, moisture cured. If this one is similar, I will be thrilled. Any info anyone? Durabak company is a pain to deal with and are not forthcoming with technical info on tinting, which leaves me disappointed. I'd love to find a substitute paint.

I want you guys to design our rig one day when we can go full time. Unfortunately neither of us have any job skills that allow us to be mobile. But we have a travel trailer and get out as much as we can. Were fairly new so we’re learning what we would want in a new rig. And I’m slowly being turned towards a bus conversion. His parents have owned a couple of fifth wheels and they’re almost full time. But I like the quality and customization you can get from a conversion. Anyway. Absolutely beautiful!

@@LacroixCruiser One things I was wondering, is, just what did you do to the engine and drive train to get it up to par with the rest of the build?

    • @LacroixCruiser
      @LacroixCruiser Год назад +1

@@prestonthompson9848 before taking on the road we changed brakes, shocks, airbags, bushings, tires. For the engine there wasn’t much to do, it only has 300,000 miles since an in frame rebuild. From there this is the maintenance schedule we follow.
      Every trip
      Check all fluids
      Check all lights
Check tire pressure ( ideally have a TPMS)
      Check hub oil
      Inspect belts
      Do DOT pre-trip brake tests
Spot and repair any leaks( fluid/air)
Purge air tanks after trip of moisture.
Enjoy yourself and listen to your bus.
      Every 2 weeks
Drive bus to reach full operating temperature. A bus that sits is a bus that breaks.
      Every month
Check and adjust water levels of any FLA batteries.
Run generator at or near full load for 30 minutes
      Check slack adjusters
      Clean solar panels, inspect roof
      Wash bus
Every 5000 miles or 3 months
      Check slack adjusters
      Sample oil and test.
Check air filter, replace as needed
Visual check of suspension and brakes.
      Inspect rubber bay hinges.
Check torque on house electrical system connections.
      Clean radiator(s)
      Clean house A/C filters
Every 10,000 miles or 6 months
3 month or 5000 mile items plus,
      Change oil and filters
      Change fuel filters
      Lubricate chassis
      Rotate tires
Inspect tires for cracks, uneven wear, bumps etc.
      Coat tires.
Check for kingpin wear when jacked up.
      Test coolant
      Check brake pad thickness
      Every 20,000 miles or yearly
6 month or 10,000 mile items plus
Change transmission filter, test fluid sample, replace if required
Change coolant filter, test coolant, replace if needed.
Service house heating system ( yearly)
Service generator ( or every 100 hours of use)
      Service air dryer.
Do a full DOT safety inspection.
      Check wheel bearings.
Change hub oil/ repack wheel bearing grease.
Remove brake drums and inspect brake system.
      Replace power steering filter.
      Check propane system for leaks.
      Lubricate windows and locks

    Yes to your question.
Coaches are awesome 👌🏻, but very pricey, unless you can boondocks for a year or so at our little place to help get it started, framing, ELECTRICAL, and safety stuff? 😀
Because of the coach expense, a schoolie is where most others end up! I don't have a build in me, so we will check in with others from time to time. We have watched you many times, your stuff, Don &Mella when you helped out! Your a good speaker, easy to understand.👍.
Is the M.C.I. built as strong as the PREVOST, from your home? Neck of the woods.
Your coating, bed liner, did you tint it or is there a choice of colors? Have you ever forgotten about the Fiat your towing? That it wasn't there? It must not weigh much, do you feel it back there?
    👌🏻✌🏻🧡 🌤 🇨🇦 😎👨‍🦽.

    • @LacroixCruiser
      @LacroixCruiser Год назад +2

A coach isn’t any more, in fact often times less, cost than a Skoolie, and much easier to do.
Prévost and MCI are of equal build quality.
The Bedliner can be tinted to any colour.
We don’t feel the Fiat but we see it in the rear view camera
