It Is fortunately for me because of my active service in the church when I'm not there I'm always called and asked where I was and I was missed. I have such respect for members of the LDS church. I was all set to be baptized back in 1996 but it was causing contention with my spouse. I chose happiness at home over joining the church. Are there any LDS members married to non-members out there with some advice about how to manage this contentious issue?
Hello, Unfortunately, that is clearly inaccurate. Jesus did not establish The Later Day Saints as his true church, but he did on the Catholic Church. God Bless!!
Jesus established His only Church on the Day of Pentecost when people were added to it through repentance and baptism for the remission of sins - Acts 2:38,47. They were called Christians (not Catholic or Mormon) and members of the Church of Christ - Acts 11:26; Romans 16:16
Galatians 1:8-9 ESV: "But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. [9] As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed." Does the LDS gospel match that of Christ and his Apostles?
@@CalledtoShare do you believe Jesus is God in the Flesh and Lord and Savior of He or she that repents of their sins and places their Faith in Jesus for their Salvation by through Faith by Grace alone?
Thank you for taking the time to share this important information and your testimonies. Like this dear sister, I too have struggled with insecurities and worries/concerns, but I know that when I make an effort to attend Church whether in person or virtually through my Ward's (Church Congregation's) broadcast for it's members and those who wish to participate, I have felt better and felt uplifted by the Holy Spirit and the testimonies of those who share during these meetings. This is not to say my problems disappear, but if nothing else, I can get by another week of whatever challenges I may face.
What a great idea to show what a service looks like!! I was adopted and met my biological family for the 1st time in 2020. My 80+ year old father has himself (and other family members) convinced that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, is a cult. Now I can send this for him to watch! 🤗
ok sooo I am by no means a conventional person BUT I can say Ive never felt so WELCOMED than in the mormon church so go find out by yourselves. The energy is really different and you really feel the presence of the Lord
@@CalledtoShare I’m a lot like the woman who shared in the end of the video. Every week for the about the last 5 years I’ve wanted to go to church but anxiety of the unknown gets me every time.
LDS states that one is saved by maintaining obedience to the law and ordinances of the gospel. I'm guessing this comes from 2 Nephi 25:23(might be a little off on chapter and verse so forgive me) that states one is saved by grace after all you can do. Wouldn't this contradict the holy Bible where in ephesians 2 it states your saved by grace through faith..not of works so no man may boast? As well as galatians 2 and romans 3 where it talks about we are justified by faith apart from works of the law? How can the LDS faith hold to the KJV translation of the word of God which teaches these things but holding to that beleif would contradict the book of mormom? Thank you for your time.
Great question, and the answer all comes down to covenants. A covenant is a promise between God and us. When we covenant to keep God's commands, He promises to save us through the power of His Son Jesus Christ. Our works (obedience) don't save us, Christ does. But these works are required to enter heaven, because they help us become who God wants us to be. Our part of the covenant is to obey, and Christ's part is to save us. I hope that makes sense. If you have any other questions, please let us know.
@@CalledtoShare I mean this with love, but you didn't address the contradiction I brought up from ephesians and 2 nephi. Book of mormom states we are saved by grace after all we can do and ephesians 2 says we are saved by grace through faith..not of works so no man may boast. Also what was Paul talking about in galatians 2 and romans 3 that man is justified apart from works of the law? From your response it seams our ability to be in heaven is not by faith in christ alone rather by works of the law.
@@CalledtoShare secondly, if man's obedience was able to get him into heaven, what was the point of christ dieing for men that had thr ability to obey God to merit salvation? Seems thr bible from cover to end shows man's inability to save himself..that the law itself was a mirror..a standard that man cannot upheld. Men entered into covenants all throughout scripture..and man was always unfaithful in keeping their promise.
I feel like I did answer your question. The purpose of works is not to save us. The purpose of works is to fulfill the covenant of obedience. Christ saves. Grace saves. Works fulfill our part of the covenant. Hope that is clear. Thanks again for the question.
It comes from Doctrine and Covenants 27. In preparation for a religious service at which the sacrament of bread and wine was to be administered, Joseph set out to procure wine. He was met by a heavenly messenger and received this revelation, a portion of which was written at the time and the remainder in the September following. Water is now used instead of wine in the sacramental services of the Church.
It's simply a form of Respect to Jesus, is it not? To dress in a respectful and clean manner? Wouldn't you wear your best on a date with someone who you respect and care for, wanting to make a good impression? Wouldn't you wear modest and nice clothes amongst children or grandparents? Many churches wear their Sunday best. Baptist being one, even hats. Nothing unusual or strange.
@@sleepingwithcats5121 I', kidding with all this ya know but on a mor esincere note Christ isn't impressed with clothes it's impressed with sincerity and honesty with a joyful heart oh LORD I am NOT gonna start preaching here
What's the difference between Mormons and the traditional Roman Latin Catholic faith the Mormons have a remembrance of the body and blood of Jesus christ. The Catholics have the absolute body and blood of Christ soul and Divinity as he said do this in remembrance of me.
This section of the Doctrine and Covenants explains that. Great question! www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/27?lang=eng#study_intro1
A church/ward is only so good as the people who run it. If the bishop is weak in his leadership then untold damage is done when one below him turns to bullying those around him. When the bully is confronted he then turns to bullying that person too. We had this experience at our 2nd ward. We got no help from those in leadership. I was a long term member, my husband just over 18 months a member. It’s been a very long time since that time and we ended up moving away from the area as felt unsafe due to the hounding of the bully after we stop going to the church meetings. It left a bad feeling in us over our treatment by the members who found out why we left. Our new area did have a church (now closed) and I would have liked to try again but my husband was totally against it when we first moved here. The nearest one now is not reachable due to no Sunday bus service. Too far for a taxi. I miss the church but now not sure how welcoming I would be after so long away.
I'm sorry to hear that. Our state has a strict mask mandate, so most members of our ward wear one, but no one makes me feel bad if I don't. (To me masking is a symbol of the oppression of our children and grandchildren for years to come).
I am sorry that happened to you at church but I can promise you it is NOT like that in all Wards. I was serving in the Bishopric until recently and we never turned anyone away because of not wearing a mask.
You can read what lead to the bread and now water change. It is found here. www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/27?lang=eng One of the blessings of having a living prophet and modern revelation to guide the Church.
Thank you for the extra information. The bread represents Jesus' flesh and the wine represented His blood. From the beginning of Biblical accounts in regards of sacrifice and sacrificial offerings, the blood represented life. Leviticus 17:11 "For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I myself have given it on the altar for you to make atonement for yourselves, because it is the blood that makes atonement by means of the life in it." Jesus gave His life in sacrifice to atone for our sins. He will be remembered by His sacrifice, His life and His blood he offered as the "Lamb of God." 1 John 1:7 "However, if we are walking in the light as he himself is in the light, we do have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin" Of course, we can't consume blood, because it was against the Mosaic law and was also in effect after Jesus' death. (Acts 15:28-29 ) Leviticus 17:12 "That is why I have said to the Israelites: “None of you should eat blood, and no foreigner who is residing in your midst should eat blood.”" Using water is acceptable according to your testament ( The Book Of Mormon ) as the symbol for the baptism but not for the forgiveness of sins according to the Holy Bible. 1 John 5:6 "This is the one who came by means of water and blood, Jesus Christ, not with the water only, but with the water and with the blood. And the spirit is bearing witness, because the spirit is the truth." And I believe that is what you want your congregants to remember. Unless there's a remembrance of the blood that Jesus poured out, there will be no remembrance of His forgiveness, and that's the reason the LDS Church, according to the Testament of Joseph Smith does it. That is a very serious sin and a very '"suspicious" change that an angel from God would inspire Joseph Smith to do. That implicates that God no longer sees the blood or the wine representing Jesus' blood as important and it is quite misleading. Hebrews 9:22 "Yes, according to the Law nearly all things are cleansed with blood, and unless blood is poured out no forgiveness takes place." 2 Timothy 2:15 "Do your utmost to present yourself approved to God, a workman with nothing to be ashamed of, handling the word of the truth aright." I rest my case. The truth is spoken.
I have visited one of your churches and have never felt more unwelcomed I'm my life. No one greeted me they all stared and made me feel like I was no good at all
I'm really sorry that happened to you. Don't be afraid to say hi to someone as well. Who knows, maybe a few of those who were staring were visitors too. If you are ever in Utah and want to visit again I'll sit by you and we can chat.
It was in Michigan. I went with a member who was my friend and they talked to her but ignored me. It just didn't felt right to the point I didn't want to learn anything.
I hope you don’t judge the whole church based on your experience with a few people. People everywhere sometimes just stick to their familiar circle of acquaintances and don’t really open up easily to people they don’t know. And there are rude people everywhere, unfortunately. But there are also nice people everywhere, too, and I think there were probably many there who would have liked to have talked to you too. I hope you will give going another chance, if only for an educational opportunity. I think it is a nice thing to visit others’ churches and make connections that way.
@@BNJ24 I don't believe that have any rules or anything about there's no requirement just depends on the individual wanting to look a certain way for church probably just because that's how they're mother dressed for church
No thx not interested in a cult and using young people as the platform who have been brain washed. I am a follower of Jesus and a Christian but do not think your values align with Christ but more doctrine.
@@Ana05702 that's like criticizing the children of Israel for following some random guy named Moses. God always calls prophets to lead his people (Amos 3:7), the purpose of the prophets is to point us to Jesus Christ. Joseph was just another of many prophets who was called by God to lead God's people. We don't worship Joseph, we worship Jesus.
@@spencerknavel3485 Unfortunately, the LDS church doesn't let you really study the true history. They say you don't need to. They discourage you from reading or studying outside sources. They say it is to protect you, but it is so you don't find out the truth. If they are so adamant about the truth, you should be free to look at all sources of information, within the church or outside of the church. The truth is the truth, regardless of where you obtain the information. Blessings to you all. I pray that you will someday find the truth, and realize that your prophets are just fallible and controlling men. Your source should be the Bible first, not the Book of Mormon!
I can study whatever source I want. And I have. However, to deny that some sources are more reliable than others would be naïve. Does the Church encourage you to study from reliable sources by people who aren't out to destroy your faith? Absolutely. As for prophets being controlling men, this is 100% false. Later. Take that "tHe pAtRiArChY iS eViL" crap somewhere else.
I remember The REAL Bible says God blessed bread and WINE!!! There was NO water and bread story. Even here in this small piece you are making your own changes to what exactly God said and did! I can’t imagine how many other things you have replaced/modified/changed or created based on your personal view rather than on what God said in the Bible, not YOUR OWN MODIFIED Bible, but the Real original One!
Karen, guess what was in the original Bible? The teaching that God reveals his truths through prophets. Any changes to ordinances in our day is authorized by a living prophet. What a blessing!
Jesus himself drack wine...yes, he even made wine of water...why do you do the opposite? Turn wine into water? Wine is not unwholesome, when one drinks it in communion. 🥖🍷

Are there any LDS members married to non-members out there with some advice about how to manage this contentious issue?
I'm not apart of this religion and I am going to this church tomorrow and I'm so nervous.
Awesome! We hope you have a great time!
How was it
I'm so grateful for the true church of Christ. The church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints is his true church on earth.
Are there online services for those who forward every reason can't make it in person?

Galatians 1:8-9 ESV:
"But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. [9] As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed." Does the LDS gospel match that of Christ and his Apostles?
Since Jesus Christ is the Eternal President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the answer is 1000% yes.

Greetings Dear All, I would like join a church.
Thanks Sisters. This a nice introduction for newcomers.
Glad it was helpful!
God bless you sisters!!!
Thank you for sharing!
Neumünster Germany, what happened there to the children in the 90s?
Lots of churches say come as you are in whatever is comfortable. Is “Sunday best” really expected? I’m really asking, not being confrontational.
Sunday best is what we wear, but we love everyone who walks through the chapel doors regardless of what they are wearing. Great question!
@@CalledtoShare I’m a lot like the woman who shared in the end of the video. Every week for the about the last 5 years I’ve wanted to go to church but anxiety of the unknown gets me every time.
Bread and WATER for communion?
Yes
Beautiful message. Wish you the very best on your missions. The testimony of the member is also touching. Thank you for sharing your message.
You are so welcome
Those sisters are so cute
I believe that the Bible says bread and wine…where does the “water” come from?
It comes from Doctrine and Covenants 27. In preparation for a religious service at which the sacrament of bread and wine was to be administered, Joseph set out to procure wine. He was met by a heavenly messenger and received this revelation, a portion of which was written at the time and the remainder in the September following. Water is now used instead of wine in the sacramental services of the Church.
@@CalledtoShare So what will be served at the marriage supper of the Lamb, wine or water?
@@rickanduiza186 Catholic church does not serve wine either. Wine in Church? Where?

What's the difference between Mormons and the traditional Roman Latin Catholic faith the Mormons have a remembrance of the body and blood of Jesus christ. The Catholics have the absolute body and blood of Christ soul and Divinity as he said do this in remembrance of me.
Didn't Jesus point to wine as His blood? Why are you drinking water?
This section of the Doctrine and Covenants explains that. Great question!

Two beautiful sweet girls.
So sorry for your experience. We love you!
I was kicked out of church service by the bishop for refusing to wear a mask
He shouldn't have done that. Sorry.
That sucks, do you live in one of those strict cities?
I hope you can find another one nearby. 🤞
Sorry you had an unfortunate encounter. 😕😔
I was serving in the Bishopric until recently and we never turned anyone away because of not wearing a mask.
i hate it like no one cares sit there and cry
I’m looking forward to my first service!
Awesome! We hope you have a great time.
1:02 Bread and water?! What happened to the wine? (or grape juice?) This is not in accordance with the Bible.

One of the blessings of having a living prophet and modern revelation to guide the Church.
Thank you for the extra information.
The bread represents Jesus' flesh and the wine represented His blood.
From the beginning of Biblical accounts in regards of sacrifice and sacrificial offerings, the blood represented life.
Leviticus 17:11
"For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I myself have given it on the altar for you to make atonement for yourselves, because it is the blood that makes atonement by means of the life in it."
Jesus gave His life in sacrifice to atone for our sins. He will be remembered by His sacrifice, His life and His blood he offered as the "Lamb of God."
1 John 1:7
"However, if we are walking in the light as he himself is in the light, we do have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin"
Of course, we can't consume blood, because it was against the Mosaic law and was also in effect after Jesus' death. (Acts 15:28-29 )
Leviticus 17:12
"That is why I have said to the Israelites: “None of you should eat blood, and no foreigner who is residing in your midst should eat blood.”"
Using water is acceptable according to your testament ( The Book Of Mormon ) as the symbol for the baptism but not for the forgiveness of sins according to the Holy Bible.
1 John 5:6
"This is the one who came by means of water and blood, Jesus Christ, not with the water only, but with the water and with the blood. And the spirit is bearing witness, because the spirit is the truth."
And I believe that is what you want your congregants to remember.
Hebrews 9:22
"Yes, according to the Law nearly all things are cleansed with blood, and unless blood is poured out no forgiveness takes place."
2 Timothy 2:15
"Do your utmost to present yourself approved to God, a workman with nothing to be ashamed of, handling the word of the truth aright."
I rest my case. The truth is spoken.
The water still represents the blood. Nothing changed there.
🥰🥰🥰
Thanks!
Sorry :(
I hope you don’t judge the whole church based on your experience with a few people.
THIS CHURCH INTERESTS ITSELF MORE IN COLLECTING MONEY THAN IN RELATING TO ITS MEMBERS!!!!!!!

And don’t forget to leave your critical thinking skills at the entrance….😵💫
I remember The REAL Bible says God blessed bread and WINE!!! There was NO water and bread story. Even here in this small piece you are making your own changes to what exactly God said and did! I can’t imagine how many other things you have replaced/modified/changed or created based on your personal view rather than on what God said in the Bible, not YOUR OWN MODIFIED Bible, but the Real original One!
Karen, guess what was in the original Bible? The teaching that God reveals his truths through prophets.
Any changes to ordinances in our day is authorized by a living prophet. What a blessing!
Why are you afraid to drink wine? Christ Himself turned water into wine.
Jesus himself drack wine...yes, he even made wine of water...why do you do the opposite? Turn wine into water? Wine is not unwholesome, when one drinks it in communion. 🥖🍷
Because of modern revelation...
