      It is like re-charging your spiritual batteries each week. Partaking in the sacrament allows us to renew our baptism covenants and worship Jesus Christ who leads our church on earth today.

      I enjoy going to church. When Covid first hit and it closed meetings, it made me very sad. It Is fortunately for me because of my active service in the church when I'm not there I'm always called and asked where I was and I was missed. If you make an effort to go, it becomes like a second home.
      What always amazes me is how many people only come once in while; if miss too many times, no one knows you when you walk through the door. The old saying holds true, "out of sight, out of mind." Jesus Christ wants us tto be there. There's so many reasons to come vs reasons not to come.

      D-rod, I was baptized Catholic @ age 1, but my parents joined the Mormon church right after...its an amazing religion, and is eerily similar to the Catholic religion...but I have to laugh at your comment about the "prettiest" woman? man, pretty LDS women are rare gems, and when you find one, sadly, they know that they are pretty, and unfortunately carry that same snobby attitude that your typical high school cheerleader carries. The culture also is just really weird, I love the Gospel, but not the cultural mindset of the ppl that belong to it

They are wonderful people and they really do welcome everyone. Now like every religion they had some faults but they have grown from that. Me being a black woman have come to see that. The members I have met and been with have been great to me. I have met other members of all races. Since I've started speaking with them. I feel at peace.

    Thank you for your testimony, sister.....social anxiety is a huge issue for me too. I am an inactive member living in Australia, having been baptized in 2010. I miss the church so much. I have been to many different denominations in my life, but I have never felt happier or more at home than when I was attending my LDS ward. I am still so drawn to the LDS church (reason why I'm watching this video!) and have been seriously considering returning but I'm hesitant because I'm a bit of a loner and a homebody and am afraid it will all make my life too busy and complicated. Also, I don't drive so I have to rely on people to pick me up and bring me home which, although people are kind and willing to do that, for someone with social anxiety, that just makes it more stressful. But you are seriously inspiring me to take the plunge....thank you again for your brave and encouraging testimony....love to you and the two sister missionaries. :)

    I know people will come off with stories of being offended by someone at church, and I once had the same lame excuse for quitting too.
    Then years later when I realized how my life had a HUGE VOID and was in need of renewed covenants that I could ONLY get by taking the sacrament, I had to set aside pride, resentment, and all the other dumb tricks the devil plays us with, and accept my grandma's invitation to come back to church.
    It's been a HUGE blessing: Personal relationship with Jesus Christ is STRONGER, I've stayed clean and sober for 16 years, I'm able to give back to others and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and EACH TIME I repent and take the sacrament my sins are washed away as when I was baptized. PLUS when church is over, I feel recharged and ready to take on another week💪🏼
    Yeah... Church is SO WORTH IT

      I also feel sorry for the Pentecostal sects, they are praying to Evil saying that the language they use is not possible to translate, it is possible because you are calling demons and people are not aware, they simply repeating after those who are saying these words means prayers to Lord, but they don’t say that these words are calling demons to come visit. Stay away from any sects! Go to normal original religions which were on this planet for at least 2,000 years

    LDS states that one is saved by maintaining obedience to the law and ordinances of the gospel. I'm guessing this comes from 2 Nephi 25:23(might be a little off on chapter and verse so forgive me) that states one is saved by grace after all you can do. Wouldn't this contradict the holy Bible where in ephesians 2 it states your saved by grace through faith..not of works so no man may boast? As well as galatians 2 and romans 3 where it talks about we are justified by faith apart from works of the law? How can the LDS faith hold to the KJV translation of the word of God which teaches these things but holding to that beleif would contradict the book of mormom? Thank you for your time.

    • @CalledtoShare
      @CalledtoShare  2 года назад

      Great question, and the answer all comes down to covenants. A covenant is a promise between God and us. When we covenant to keep God's commands, He promises to save us through the power of His Son Jesus Christ.
      Our works (obedience) don't save us, Christ does. But these works are required to enter heaven, because they help us become who God wants us to be. Our part of the covenant is to obey, and Christ's part is to save us.
      I hope that makes sense. If you have any other questions, please let us know.

Also what was Paul talking about in galatians 2 and romans 3 that man is justified apart from works of the law? From your response it seams our ability to be in heaven is not by faith in christ alone rather by works of the law.

      @@CalledtoShare secondly, if man's obedience was able to get him into heaven, what was the point of christ dieing for men that had thr ability to obey God to merit salvation? Seems thr bible from cover to end shows man's inability to save himself..that the law itself was a mirror..a standard that man cannot upheld. Men entered into covenants all throughout scripture..and man was always unfaithful in keeping their promise.

    • @CalledtoShare
      @CalledtoShare  2 года назад

    I believe that the Bible says bread and wine…where does the “water” come from?

    • @CalledtoShare
      @CalledtoShare  2 года назад +2

      It comes from Doctrine and Covenants 27. In preparation for a religious service at which the sacrament of bread and wine was to be administered, Joseph set out to procure wine. He was met by a heavenly messenger and received this revelation, a portion of which was written at the time and the remainder in the September following. Water is now used instead of wine in the sacramental services of the Church.

    A church/ward is only so good as the people who run it. If the bishop is weak in his leadership then untold damage is done when one below him turns to bullying those around him. When the bully is confronted he then turns to bullying that person too. We had this experience at our 2nd ward. We got no help from those in leadership. I was a long term member, my husband just over 18 months a member. It’s been a very long time since that time and we ended up moving away from the area as felt unsafe due to the hounding of the bully after we stop going to the church meetings. It left a bad feeling in us over our treatment by the members who found out why we left. Our new area did have a church (now closed) and I would have liked to try again but my husband was totally against it when we first moved here. The nearest one now is not reachable due to no Sunday bus service. Too far for a taxi. I miss the church but now not sure how welcoming I would be after so long away.

      Thank you for the extra information.
      The bread represents Jesus' flesh and the wine represented His blood.
      From the beginning of Biblical accounts in regards of sacrifice and sacrificial offerings, the blood represented life.
      Leviticus 17:11
      "For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I myself have given it on the altar for you to make atonement for yourselves, because it is the blood that makes atonement by means of the life in it."
      Jesus gave His life in sacrifice to atone for our sins. He will be remembered by His sacrifice, His life and His blood he offered as the "Lamb of God."
      1 John 1:7
      "However, if we are walking in the light as he himself is in the light, we do have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin"
      Of course, we can't consume blood, because it was against the Mosaic law and was also in effect after Jesus' death. (Acts 15:28-29 )
      Leviticus 17:12
      "That is why I have said to the Israelites: “None of you should eat blood, and no foreigner who is residing in your midst should eat blood.”"
      Using water is acceptable according to your testament ( The Book Of Mormon ) as the symbol for the baptism but not for the forgiveness of sins according to the Holy Bible.
      1 John 5:6
      "This is the one who came by means of water and blood, Jesus Christ, not with the water only, but with the water and with the blood. And the spirit is bearing witness, because the spirit is the truth."
      And I believe that is what you want your congregants to remember.
      Unless there's a remembrance of the blood that Jesus poured out, there will be no remembrance of His forgiveness, and that's the reason the LDS Church, according to the Testament of Joseph Smith does it.
      That is a very serious sin and a very '"suspicious" change that an angel from God would inspire Joseph Smith to do. That implicates that God no longer sees the blood or the wine representing Jesus' blood as important and it is quite misleading.
      Hebrews 9:22
      "Yes, according to the Law nearly all things are cleansed with blood, and unless blood is poured out no forgiveness takes place."
      2 Timothy 2:15
      "Do your utmost to present yourself approved to God, a workman with nothing to be ashamed of, handling the word of the truth aright."
      I rest my case. The truth is spoken.

      I hope you don’t judge the whole church based on your experience with a few people. People everywhere sometimes just stick to their familiar circle of acquaintances and don’t really open up easily to people they don’t know. And there are rude people everywhere, unfortunately. But there are also nice people everywhere, too, and I think there were probably many there who would have liked to have talked to you too. I hope you will give going another chance, if only for an educational opportunity. I think it is a nice thing to visit others’ churches and make connections that way.
