After a month with this phone im completely sold. It's very fast and incredibly smooth. Yeah, definitely keep it on 144 hertz.
This has the antiflicker option in the settings for late night viewing and also the extra dimming option which is sooo nice at night as well. Very underrated features. Super happy with this phone.

    • @wiredspeaker5658
      @wiredspeaker5658 6 месяцев назад

@@frankblakedrumss dude the cameras are upper midrange.
Front camera is stellar particularly for portraits. Front video is also unbelievably great if you're a content creator. The 4k30 looks fantastic with Great stabilization.
The rear cameras are also very good with the option for 4k60. Ultrawide cam really surprised me. Didn't expect the quality it delivers.
Low light shots are quite sharp with night mode. Definitely cleanse up the shots a ton including seeing evening shadows. It will automatically switch to night mode but you can switch it off to normal as well.
The only downside is no dedicated telephoto camera but again the thinkphone offers a very good digital 2x zoom and it works well particularly on ultrawide shots.
I also use a pixel 7 and I'm telling you straight up the thinkphone isn't far off in overall quality. In fact it has better front cam performance.
You won't be disappointed. This phone punches way above it's price.
Oh, it has fantastic connectivity being it's a dedicated us network device. Comes with 68 watt fast charging which doesn't break any landspeed records but it kills anything from Apple Google or Samsung. 10 minute charge will get you through the day.

      This is a mid-range camera
      OIS and EIS
Great ultra wide performance including video
Low light on night mode is very good. Can see shadows on night shots
Front video is surprisingly good on 4k30. Sharp edges and looks like 4k60.
2x digital zoom is grainy at times unfortunately.
Front cam and video have better skin tones than my Pixel 7 but not as sharp.
Very decent mid range cameras. Not as sharp overall as the Pixel 7. If You really value cameras you should look at OnePlus.

I looked at the Motorola ThinkPhone, before decided on the Pixel 8 instead. My earliest smart phones were from Motorola, although I was replacing a Pixel 6. My decision to go with the Pixel 8 was largely based on the smaller size and that my cell carrier had a promotion allowing me to get it basically free (other than taxes, etc.). After several weeks with the Pixel 8, I'm very pleased with it.

I just picked one up on Amazon for $367 open box item. I absolutely love it. I think it actually, in my usage, runs better than my Pixel 8. Yes the cameras aren't as great. But I love the additional camera option that are available including the pro mode. You can also do 8k 30fps video recording. I have also found that the "Ready For" feature works very well with both my Window 10 laptop and Amazon Fire Max 11 tablet. Definitely no regrets purchasing it. It was your comparison video that nudged me to get it. Thank You!

    • @wiredspeaker5658
      @wiredspeaker5658 5 месяцев назад

I originally purchased it as a solid backup phone and something I can game on at work as the pixel 7 just doesn't hold up to any intensive gaming.
Yeah the ready for is very handy although my favorite feature is the extra dimmer, night light and the antiflicker protection. Very easy on the eyes at night and now my permanent bedstand phone.
      Cons...
      No second space.. 🤕
      No IR blaster
2x digital zoom is grainy and a significant step down from my Pixel 7 in terms of overall sharpness and focus.
Bluetooth won't always auto connect with my watch
Software isn't bad but not great. Sometimes freezes up and requires restarting.
      Speaker phone too quiet 🤔
      No always on display 🤔
The thinkphone is fantastic value although the OnePlus 12r is a better option in the sub $500 market.

I bought one last week for $395 and absolutely love it! I currently have a Flip 5, Moto Razr Plus, S23, Pixel 7, 6a, etc and I would rather use the Thinkphone. The battery life is amazing trouncing the other phones you mentioned. I got Android 14 a few days ago and the very next day I got the March security patch.
The screen is excellent and very smooth, but it isn't 6.6" no matter how you measure it. It is exactly
6-3/8". I love the look and feel of the Kevlar back and wish other manufacturers would go to this.
I have taken several pictures and a couple of videos and I can't see any difference from my other phones, but I am not a camera officianoto. The signal reception is better than my Samsung and Pixels averaging 5 to 7 dBm's better.
There is literally nothing that comes close to this phone even at the $499 price you paid and I hope a lot of people will grab one at its current price because you will be shocked how good it is. Oh, and I like Motos UI better than the others.

Coming back to this video because I bought this phone as a Christmas gift to myself to use as a backup/work phone but it soon became my DAILY DRIVER. I was still using an S20 as my personal phone (now upgraded to an S24U) but the Think Phone is still being used daily and I love it so much. The cameras are okay (I use my S24U now if I really need a good photo) but everything else that the Think Phone offers cannot be matched IMO. The Moto features have been very useful and practical for every day use such as the double chop for flashlight, double tap the back to open up an app (the calculator for me), the double press on the power button and the flick of the wrist features to open the camera and not to mention: the red Lenovo Think Button on the side of the phone to open up any app you want (in my case, GPay) this is one of the most practical and useful smartphones on the market right now. And the fact that Lenovo/Motorola has guaranteed THREE OS updates and FOUR years of security updates for this device is the icing on the cake!

I tried the Pixel 8 Pro and was having some huge battery issues. I returned the pixel and went with the ThinkPhone from Motorola and have been happy with it. I am getting nearly 3 days out of it on one charge typically as long as I am not heavily using it daily. If I use it heavily, I am getting a little more than 2 days out of it which is amazing considering the hardware that Motorola threw into it. I have honestly been happy with the phone. No complaints so far. The last two days, went 8 hours at least with mobile data vs wifi and still was sitting at 58% on battery. And with the photos, regardless of the quality of them vs the pixel 7 pro I daily drove for a LONG time... I am overall extremely happy with it. I bought this phone, but it had two MAJOR shortfalls:
No AOD. It's 2024. Get it together Moto. Coming from a Galaxy S8, S10, and S21 Ultra, the lack of an AOD is super annoying. I don't feel like tapping or moving my phone every time I want to see if I have a missed notification. A simple software update could fix this. Also, there is a huge delay between tapping and the screen coming on, about 3 to 5 seconds.
Lack of notification customisations. I realized how much I missed this after spending some time with my S21 again. The ability to set different animations, have the border light up etc for incoming notifications makes it easy to see what's coming in. The Moto again simply gives you a tiny little pop up icon that disappears after 5 seconds.
I do love the build quality, responsiveness, screen, fast charging, storage (256 GB) and the camera isn't half bad for a $400 phone. Not top of the line, but about what I expected.
Moto, seriously, just look at what Samsung did for the S21 and DO THAT. Quit being different for the sake of being different.

This phone looks almost the same like edge+ (2023) I tested this thinkphone few months ago and it’s really good, one problem what Motorola has in all lineup phone is low quality camera, I moved from edge+(2023) for pixel 8pro and to be honest I regret, Motorola is much better phone it’s only one thing where pixel is better, that’s camera. 😅 I follow Motorola brand since long time and since Lenovo almost buy this brand there a lot good stuff for cheaper price. You are not wrong. Androids drop their value much quicker than apple devices. It is really rough for early adopters and people who buy them brand new. However, the flipside is that if you are thrifty and buy used and refurbished, you can wait a year maybe 2 and get a flagship android at half price...So yeah. Pros and cons to it. Apple is better for you if you like to buy new and sell yours. But apple sucks for buying used cause the price drop is only like 10-15% per year. I for one am happy to buy used and save tons of money. That way if you are patient you can still get some money out your phone anyway.
