@@HardcoreRC I don't actually film much, but I can say what I have. I used the same setup, but I changed out the motor to a 1260kv. I also changed out the body for aerodynamics and thats on 8s lipo as well. Mamba Monster X 8S 33.6V ESC with 1717-1260Kv Sensored Motor Combo Hope it helps out!

@@ParcoUpchurch The tube is can be either nitro fuel line or fish tank air line, i used a 10mm length in the front and 7.5mm in the rear, its slides over the shaft to limits the shafts travel in the shock piston
I've been seeing a lot of videos with regards to those 14mm to 17mm extenders falling off, even while using locktight. I was going to get those for my own Big Rock, but I think I'll invest in a proper 17mm setup. Great video by the way! Congrats on breaking 80mph.
Have the M2C 17mm Hex adapters and apart from the first time i used them and didn't really let the thread lock set we have not had any issues, even had this car up at 105mph and had many many very fast passes and not one issue. The issues people have been having is either not fitting right or not letting the threadlock dry long enough

@@HardcoreRC I know it defeats the object a little but do a run off cam if necessary without the shell .. it will be more aerodynamic. . Reckon u will get 86+ .. the drag with air pressure build up in the back of the shell would be like driving your car with windows wide open at 150 .. the air pressure will prevent u from being slippery through the air . Think u got plenty of power but will need to clean up the airflow will also help if u gear up to keep the motor spooling without drawing a load of amps .... all eyes on you mate .. I got confidence u will crack the magic ton💯 😎🏁

I just modified an old Park zone spitfire in the search for 100mph from an airframe that out the box does about 30mph on 3s.. tried all sorts of setups up to 4s .. cracked about 70mph on 4 so went insane on 6s .. smashed a good 120mph but had to make airframe slippery .. remove all drag .. the key is airflow .. same with car ..less power needed therefore more power on tap
Congratulations on 81MPH. I just put metal front diff in (for less resistance) and also upped my pinion size hoping to hit 90+ Mph soon with the kraton 4s just so windy here these past few weeks it instantly lifts it
Did you go Arrma metal diffs of the Hot Racing ? im hoping not to have to do that and keep it as stock as possible, think aero will be the biggest issue for us
@@HardcoreRC the Arrma metal diffs; I only did it for less rolling resistance. And yeah aero is major issues with them. I have mine sitting about 20mm off the ground in the front and 35mm in the rear
@@HardcoreRC I added a slide plate under the chassis to help keep block the holes under the rc but for the most part I am going for power. All stock ratios with a 27 tooth pinion (hot racing motor plate looks like it will go up to a 30 tooth)

@@HardcoreRC I stripped the plastic input drive and the crown gear just bashing. I replaced the spur gear a couple of weeks ago with a metal one should’ve known better. Yes it’s a V3
@@stever132 Thanks - dont want to tempt fait but never had a plastic gear go on any of our 3s cars, and we treat them hard. But this speed running is extreme so i do have my eye on the metal gears if they go
Correct, when first looking i thought we had damaged the M2C hex, but it wasn't damaged, just the little not had come undone and was also lose on the other 3 wheels. Did threadlock but only had about 16 hours to set. Stage 4 done and no wheels fell off
See i my goal was 80 since this truck only really did 50mph out the box. Got my 80mph so now I'm thinking 100mph. Max6 on 8s with my same motor should get me close im thinking
Are you sure its the diffs ? are you still running the stock spur, pinion, slipper and drive shaft ? Whilst the diffs are the same as the V3 BLX and old 4s cars the spur, pinion and drive shaft is different
@@HardcoreRC arrma sells a full cnc input gear with steel crown you just gotta get the diff case they sell or you can go the hot racing route the got a spiral cut input gear with crown
Can anybody help I have the arrma big rock I have purchased a new pinion to increase the speed the one I wanted I wanted was out of stock o the recommended this one which is a pinion gear 18t 0.8mod 4x4. I've got it but it looks different there's no d so will it still fit ? Does anybody know
It's the shaft what come with the big rock and yes i got the link for the pinion still I'm new 2 rc world lol just looking 4 some good ideas and you seem to know quite a lot

Just should use capped wheel nuts and you won't lose the pin , I had whole wheel with all parts together come off due to bearing , I thought but now you have me thinking the pin in hex broke I never found the bearing.
Problem with stock is its only 14mm hex, so the hoons or GRP wont fit, ran again today with zero issues, think the only reason the wheel came off was that didnt let the lock tight set for 24 hours
Yes thay could be, but these cars really are not heavy like a 1/8th car so the 14mm hexes should be strong enough, the hex wasn't actually damaged at all, it was just the nut holding the M2C hex adapter that came lose, dont think i let the threadlock to set long enough as i only did them up the night before

The bit of tubing ? that's just nitro fuel line, or you can use air line from a fish tank
Ive used removable zipties up through the bottom and over the bodyposts, works great!!

Stopped using Hoons as they couldnt take the speed, now use GRP's

Hi, what strength threadlock do you recommend for doing this?
Im using orange threadlock. my issue may have been it wasn't left long enough to set, ran today with no wheels coming off

i got a typhon mega running a 4s spekturm setup and my input gear and crown grind when i try high speeds i got the metel input and crown on the way
