Our big rocks look extremely similar under the hood lol. I haven't done a legitimate speed run but last time I did run it I got a 82.9mph on 4s on a crappy road but it was the best straight away around here. But it's awesome seeing others do builds similar to how I am doing. And turning the big rocks into legendary road trucks / cars. Now I swapped out my surpass hobby 4276 2200kv for a TP 4040 "4076 or 4074" I believe it's a 3100kv or 3150kv I'm not 110% I'll have to see when it shows up later today and I also picked up a TP4070 which is the massive 40100 size 2500kv or 2250kv it's one of the two and it'll be here today as well so I'm pretty excited for em. Now my surpass hobby 4076 2200kv I'm gonna strip it down and rebuild it and install ceramic bearings a slightly diff rotar. And changing the motor wires to green and purple and white. Iv done the same with a few of my Hobbywing big blocks and a few of my other Surpass hobby turas motors the 4274 2250kv sensored motors I got 5 of em now which honestly they are quite pricey but definitely very well built and very strong and fast motors plus they look really good. And I got the on road smaller 4268s big block with the open cans I love the look of em and they are also quite powerful. But I believe the TP motors in my big rocks should push it above the 100mph mark easily. I got the Hobbywing max 6 inside one of em. The other one has a Castle Momma X 8s esc both are pretty quick trucks. But one is a on road big rock like y'all's are and the other is a off-road big rock. I'm attempting to build the world's fastest off road RC and gonna do it with a Arrma big rock. I got serious money into the two of em. And I'm also building a couple Arrma Granite megas which are all brushless converted. One is a on road and I'm attempting the world's fastest granite which I dunno but we gonna try. It's gonna be highly over powered with a big block for the instant torque and acceleration but it's gotta have a high KV because I need the top end as well. So finding the right size and right power level is a kinda tricky lol. But anyway guys congratulations that's a bad ass big rock it truly is. Maybe one day we can get em together and do vids n pics with em and the granite if it becomes the world's quickest granite mega.. who knows lol but I do know this... It's absolutely fun lol

RUclips does that sometimes and i posted Saturday just for you 😂 We were running foams but it just wouldn't run straight, it was on foams it crashed. haven't done any other series yet but will think of another one to do. Got some more to do with the Big rock yet though 😎😎

Not sure to be honest, the site is 150 miles away from me so not something i can check until we go there next, its the best we have so will take it, roads suck on the UK, not many straight ones and those that are tend to have cats eyes

Toe is set by the rear diff mounting, cant see anyway to change it, toe in which is what the car comes with makes it run straighter, no toe does mean less drag on wheels but also mean less stable at speed
@@HardcoreRC gotta question maybe you can help me out with have my typhon sitting on my car stand give it a little trigger and let run for a while then it just cuts off then I have a flashing red light then try pulling the trigger and nothing happens
@@mrmontgomery526 What ESC are you using ? sounds like the ESC may be faulty. Best bet is to make sure throttle trim is set to zero, recalibrate the esc and see how it is, if it still does it sound likes the ESC is faulty
@@mrmontgomery526 WOW, didnt know it would do that, but guess it makes sense if the voltage was dropping low due to the bad cell. Do you have a cell checker ? if not highly recommend getting one, i use one in the field to see if we did LVC, how much charge left on packs, make sure all cells are good before charging and also after charging

@@HardcoreRC to be honest I was out on that same stretch of road for two week in a roll and couldn’t get it to go pass 105mph. I had some lead weight in the front to help keep the truck down at high speed but I also know that extra weight will limit my speed. I took the 8oz off lead weight and cut out the rear windshield and the tailgate to help with aerodynamic. The run after the front lifted and I crashed pretty bad the truck got stuck on a tree branch Broken shock and broken wing.
@@alexfd3s ouch, i do hope not to badly damaged, i was a bit surpsied you pulled a 108mph without the front lifting with the weights gone. So you are no longer running stock body shell 😥 my whole point is to run the brick through the air as fast as possible only changing the power system, stock diffs, shocks body etc, heck people j have done GT bodies 3s cars past 130mph. Im actually gutted you have done this cutting the back windscreen nd tailgate 😥😥😥
@@HardcoreRC I'm between an airport and base, in the hottest us market. Between crowded unkempt roads, and signal jamming, I either can't run full speed, or don't get a proper reading. Worse problems to have, but a pain when your rc addiction requires both.
Mainly as Jack normally crashes 😂 its to help bring his confidence in speed running up, with Callum its almost an expectation that he will run fast and true, and i want Jack to get there as well
Good run, but a few points: Our video was done 2 1/2 years ago, that video was done 2 months ago - bit of a difference. In addition we were using a home made spool from a Traxxas nylon gear, Hot race didn't have their spool out back then, also we are using stock plastic diff gears, stock plastic centre drive shaft and stock shocks, he is using Hot race ready made spool, metal diff gears metal center drive shaft and proline shocks, road is also down hill.
Im using a spool set up - can find how to do it on one of the build videos on the project, its a 38t mod 1 spool and believe 30t mod 1 pinion. Thanks for watching and hope you enjoyed

Just used a metal bar T bar and then used the two screws under the front skid plat and drilled two into the wing and put washers with nuts on

Thanks - servo is still the stock servo, only things we have changed is motor, esc, hubs to 17mm and wheels

What size esc and motor do u have in the big rock?? Because on mine I have 185 blx esc and im running it on the stock motor.
Max6 ESC with 1650kv motor tried with a 2200kv motor and would cut out before hitting 100mph with the stock big rock body

So you are no longer running stock body shell 😥 my whole point is to run the brick through the air as fast as possible only changing the power system, stock diffs, shocks body etc, heck people j have done GT bodies 3s cars past 130mph.

Its stock apart from the ESC, Motor, Spool rather than slipper and the tires. Diffs, drive shafts etc are all stock

Was a disused airfield which is houses now 😥 yeah we struggle with cats eyes and drains and straight roads, the UK sucks for speed running
@@HardcoreRC I'm between an airport and base, in the hottest us market. Between crowded unkempt roads, and signal jamming, I either can't run full speed, or don't get a proper reading. Worse problems to have, but a pain when your rc addiction requires both.
All the little grooves in the tarmac will make you step out at speed. Find a older landing strip. There smoother . And less flotation

Good run, but a few points: Our video was done 2 1/2 years ago, that video was done 2 months ago - bit of a difference. In addition we were using a home made spool from a Traxxas nylon gear, Hot race didn't have their spool out back then, also we are using stock plastic diff gears, stock plastic centre drive shaft and stock shocks, he is using Hot race ready made spool, metal diff gears metal center drive shaft and proline shocks, road is also down hill.
What spur gear are you using and what pinon gear
Im using a spool set up - can find how to do it on one of the build videos on the project, its a 38t mod 1 spool and believe 30t mod 1 pinion. Thanks for watching and hope you enjoyed
